Task bar button width

Hi there,
Does anyone know how (if possible) to increase the width of the tasks that appear in the Windows taskbar?
As LabVIEW prepends the library name to all VIs I often have quite a few similar looking tasks in the taskbar (Windows truncates the text)
This leads me to trying to keep the library name as short as possible, not really what I want to be doing.
I have a nice wide monitor, and I make the task bar double height, it would be nice to be able to stretch (or set) a minimum width for tasks. Then I could see the whole VI name (or at least more of it), unlike the situation I am dealing with now, as shown in the screeny
Also, I really wish they would change the icon to differentiate between block diagram and front panel! (I know I should have actually filled out a product suggestion years ago...)

I'll bet there is a legacy dll somewhere that can be fiddled with, but as an easier alternative which may be useful is an XP 'power toy' It replaces the alt-tab select with a screenshot and full name of the window instance, and you can move your mouse over each item - which is quicker than alt-tabbing through them all :-)

All of my Taks Bar buttons are grey and I only have graphite an blue in the Appearance Prefrences window to choose from.

Correct - what you have described is normal for Lion.
Lion removed a lot of color from auxiliary icons, such as those in the Sidebar and those in toolbars. It's a shame, because clor can be a quick aid in finding the one you want quickly - it's a very good visual identifier.
Re Appearance in the General pane of System Preferences - Blue and Graphite are the only choices offered in Lion.

Firefox makes an annoying bing noise every time I right click or click on any of the task bar buttons (the file edit view, ect ones)

Alright, so I got firefox, opened it up, and I had been trying to figure out how to change my homepage, so I clicked file, and it made this really irritating bing noise, which definitely caught my attention. So as I looked through the other menus at hand for a solution to the problem it continued making the noise. When I didn't find a way, I right clicked and made the noise when I did that too, right clicking didn't help me solve my problem either, so I had to resort to help, and most of what I saw already in their that could have help I didn't understand, something about genome default sounds and yeah. Please help.

Task bar pinning

My task bar button for Firefox on Windows7 vanishes when I open Firefox which makes opening multiple windows a pain. How do I keep a button always on the taskbar? Explorer does it.

Thanks, had already reset Firefox. Tried unpinning/repinning as suggested but no joy.

My first gen ipad wont rotate. The side button is on mute, the lock switch is on mute,the task bar at the bottom is not locked and i reset the all setting. still wont rotate.

Well then the screen definitely isn't locked.
i wonder of you close all pas in the task bar if that would help. Maybe you have an app that is causing the screen to stay locked. Try that and as if that does any good.
Double tap the home buttons and hold down on any icon until they all wiggle. Then start closing them all by tapping the minus signs. Tap the home button when you are done. Restart the iPad and then try again.

One button for Firefox window on the Task Bar instead of many

I want to see just one button in the Task bar of my computer for Firefox window and not multiple, each window for each open tab. How can I do that?

There is a setting for whether to inform Windows about each individual tab or only the active tab in each separate window. Here's where you can check and adjust that:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Tabs panel
It's the last item: "Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar". If that is checked, you get ALL tabs in ALL windows on the Taskbar, and if it's unchecked, you only get the active tab in each window.

No, but you can use any picture editing tool to crop out the bars. (Many are free in the App Store.) Me personally, I use PhotoPad, which I use to crop as well as rotate the screen shot. Takes less than a minute to do both with PhotoPad.

Why my airplay mirror doesn't works? when I tap in the button mirror, it closes automatically and return to the task bar

Hello supporters, I have an ipod touch 5 blue with ios 7 in his last update, and when I connect my pc to my ipod with REFLECTOR to mirror with AIRPLAY it closes automatically in my ipod. I mean... ALL is connected, the router wifi, internet, and reflector on pc is open.... When I press the button of AIRPLAY on my IPOD TOUCH 5 on IOS 7 it let me choose a few options: Ipod touch; and my PC... When I choose MY PC it let me to enable the MIRROR button... When I press the MIRROR BUTTON, it closes automatically all the menu and returns to the task bar and when I try then the same thing later now the menu doesn't closes but when I tap on my AIRPLAY DEVICE "PC" it doesn't selecct, I cant select my pc, and I can see it on the airplay devices in the menu... In conclusion I cant set up my airplay mirror. Why? I think all its working great on my ios device and with my pc.. I said that cause all the people on youtube and on the internet can run it perfectly with that software and I can't! Hope you can help me soon

I lost my Start button and my Task Bar

I have been dealing with a serious virus for a couple weeks now that makes my computer run extremely slow. I ran several free antivirus and antimalware programs trying to fix my problem. This resulted in getting an error msg on start up that states "Windows
Explorer has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. After Explorer closes I have no desktop. Its a black and blank screen. I can still get to Explorer
by using ctrl-alt-del however I no longer have a Start button or a Task Bar on my Explorer home page.
I have tried several online suggestions on retrieving the Stop button with no success. I'm sure the blank screen at start-up is a result of the virus but I have no clue on getting rid of the virus at this point.
Please help me out if you have any ideas...Thank you!!

Since replacing hard drive, "restore previous session" button doesn't work, can only do it through history tab. Also will not start up from task bar icon.

Hi, been using Firefox for some years, had to replace hard drive recently and re loaded Firefox. Since then, the restore previous session button doesn't work, but I can do it from the History tab. Also Firefox itself won't start from the task bar or desktop, only the start menu.

False to minimize the task bar after I remove JavaFX stage buttons

After I use "primaryStage.initStyle(StageStyle.UNDECORATED);" or "StageStyle.TRANSPARENT", I found stage can not be minimized to task bar(when click the task bar).

The right corner of the Task Bar is called System Tray.
This can be done with G Toolbox -> Systray Icon VIs:

Hi there,
when starting my application 2 button will appear in the task bar. One
showing the caption name of my app plus icon and the other only showing
the caption name of my application w/o icon. Can somebody point my to
the reason for this behaviour and/or how to reduce it to only 1 button?

Buttons & Task Bar

I'm working on a pjava prog for the iPaq and I
have 2 little problems:
1. I can't get rid of the task bar:
How can I hide the task bar behind my program?
2. I want to disable the Buttons, how can I do that?

4.0 EA2 Bug - Icon on Task Bar Cannot Be Repositioned

After pinning the new icon to the task bar I tried to move it to a new position next to the SQLDeveloper icon. When I start to move it the right click menu shows up and the icon will not move. This was not a problem on 4.0 EA1.

I'm on windows 8.1 and visual studio 2013.
I set an application icon in properties for the project.
I set the icon to the mainwindow in markup:

I see the exe with a bank icon initially.

There's a load of other junk in the app from previous experiments
But... I zipped it up and stuck a copy on onedrive.

Note that this is something which used to be a bug in previous versions of visual studio.
Whilst debugging in vs, the icon didn't change.
