Task Flows in Resource Catalog

Version: WebCenter Spaces PS4
How can I get OOTB Search Task Flow in the Resource Catalog in WebCenter Spaces ?
Basically I wanted to DnD the search task flow in a webcenter spaces page. But when I do "Add Content" at runtime then in Resource Catalog --> Mashups --> Task FLow , none of the OOTB task flow are available.

Administrations -> Resources -> Resource Catalogs -> (copy one of the default resource catalors if necessary) -> Edit -> Add from Library -> type in "search" in the search box and search
8 results
you can choose active resource catalog in the administration/configuration globally, of for particular space in space properties

  • ADF Security, Task Flow as a region in a page resource grant

    JDeveloper 12c (12.1.2); Application uses ADF form based security, external LDAP provider (Active Directory)
    After sign-in page (upon successful authentication/authorization) user is forwarded to a page that executes VO method prior to render. I am new to task flow concept and am told to achieve this like:
    - create bounded task flow, with method call activity (execute exposed AM method that calls VO method, runs custom SQL) and view activity as page fragment.
    - then drop the above task flow into a page as a region
    In ADF security setup, I gave resource grant task-flow to certain application role. Started the application, login and got 403 error. Then went back and gave resource grant 'view' to the actual page that contains task flow. It worked fine.
    So the question is, when protecting application (implemented with task flows) with ADF security, I thought it is enough to grant those task flows to whatever application roles (groups) and inherently any page that uses that task flow(s) (as a region) will be protected?
    From this test, it seems that I have to assign each page (that has task flow as a region) to application roles individually?

    Hi,
    any page that is contained in a bounded task flow is protected  by the task flow permission grant, this is correct. If this is not what you see, please file a bug with support or send me a simple reproducible test case please. My mail address (replace all < name > with the described symbol.
    frank <dot> nimphius <at> oracle <dot> com
    The test case will need to be in a ZIP file nemaed to "unzip" and should be able for me to run stand alone (please no database scripts to run prior to try the test case)

  • Resource Bundle var unknown in task flow

    Hello everyone,
    I'm using a resource bundle in my web-app. This is the entry in the faces-config.xml file:
    <resource-bundle>
          <base-name>oracle.bundles.CustomUIBundle</base-name>
          <var>bundle</var>
    </resource-bundle>
    When I use the EL expression in my jsf fragments like #{bundle['key']} I have no error or warning messages, but when I use it in a train stop label in a Task Flow with train I have the following error and warning messages:
    Error: EL token "bundle" is unknown
    Warning: Reference "bundle" not found
    The labels are correctly shown at runtime, but this error make me unconfortable during the developing because I cannot know immediately if a "real" error is present.
    Thanks in advance.
    Manuel

    Timo,
    sorry for my forgetfulness: JDev 11.1.2.3.0.
    I know that it works fine at runtime but is a bit frustrating to see that big red cross on the task flow views even though the code is correct. That's all.
    Anyway, thanks for your help.

  • How to add portlets to the task flow page

    I am using WebCenter space and I want space users to be able to put the portlets into their group space pages.
    All the portlets are under portlet folder in the catalog. However, our requirement was to have a custom folders.
    For example, the user administration portlets have to be in something like "user administration" folder and report portlets have to be in something like "report" folder.
    By "extending WebCenter Spaces" White Paper, I can create a custom folders and then I can put custom task flows. However, it doesn't say anything about the portlets. I opened SR with Oracle but so far I don't have the answer from Oracle.
    So I tried to add portlet into task flow pages after registering the portlet producers. However, it gives me the error portlet unavailable. Do I need additional steps to do this? I need help...

    Thank you.
    However it is not showing in the catalog.
    I used the WSRP producer connection name as provider and id from the portlet.xml file.
    rss is my WSRP producer connection name from EM and the id is numeric in my portlet.xml file.
    I can see the folder but I cannot see anything inside of the folder.

  • How to deploy a new ADF task flow in OIM 11g R2

    Hi,
    I have created a new ADF task flow.
    Now I need to deploy the same in OIM 11g R2, so that when I click on a link it will call my new ADF task flow.
    Please help me in identifying the steps required to deploy the adf task flow.
    Thanks

    Hi Durga,
    Thanks for sharing the post. I think I am facing the same issue which you were facing.
    I have already done these steps but still not able to get my custom page on click of a link which I created in OIM self service page :
    1. I have created the adflibHomepagePortletsUI.jar as an adf library using Jdeveloper and copied it to oracle.iam.ui.custom-dev-starter-pack.war --> WEB-INF/lib folder after unpacking it.
    2. have updated the custom-catalog.xml file inside oracle/adf/rc/metadata folder with the below lines :
    <folder name="Sample Folder" id="sampleFolder">
    <contents>
    <resource id="helloWorld" name="Hello World"
    description="Hello World Taskflow Reference"
    repository="application.classpath"
    path="adflibHomepagePortletsUI.jar/ADF_TaskFlow/WEB-INF+oracle+iam+ui+sample+homepage+tfs+hello-world-tf.xml#hello-world-tf">
    <attributes>
    <attribute value="coreDefault" attributeId="attr.background" isKey="false"/>
    </attributes>
    </resource>
    </contents>
    </folder>
    3. repacked the war file and copied it in OIM_HOME/server/apps directory
    4. Restarted the OIM server.
    5. entered the following lines in jazn-data.xml present in user_projects\domains\idmdomain\servers\oim_server1\tmp\_WL_user\oracle.iam.console.identity.self-service.ear_V2.0\6bddg\META-INF\jazn-data.xml
    <permission>
    <class>oracle.adf.controller.security.TaskFlowPermission</class>
    <name>/WEB-INF/oracle/iam/ui/sample/homepage/tfs/hello-world-tf.xml#hello-world-tf</name>
    <actions>view</actions>
    </permission>
    5. Login to self service console.
    6. Click on the custom link who's actionListener is pointing to bean which is launching the taskflow created in the above steps.
    7. On Click of the link a new tab gets open with blank page.
    Please help me in knowing the step which I am missing in order to solve this issue.
    Many thanks once again.

  • Extending Resource Catalog: How to create subfolders.

    Hi,
    we are extending the webcenter spaces application as described in this document:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/webcenter/pdf/owcs_r11_extend_spaces_wp.pdf
    We have succesfully extended the Resource Catalog for both the Personal Space and the Group Spaces to include a folder with our custom taskflows. Nevertheless we could not achieve to generate (non dynamic) subfolders in order to organize our tasflows based on functionality. I haven't seen if this is possible of not anywhere but we have tried with this and it didn't work.

    I'm migrating 10 years of mail from Thunderbird on a dusty Dell to my brand-new Mini. I've got tons of subfolders and filters, and I want to replicate the structure using Mail 3.0.
    No matter what I do, I can't seem to add a subfolder to the email accounts I have coming off of different servers (Yahoo, Gmail and 2 on Go Daddy.)
    The Mac help advice doesn't work -- I'm just given the options to place a new mailbox "On My Mac" or as an RSS feed.
    Any other suggestions? I'd keep T'bird, except that I heard that Mozilla's not going to continue developing it. This problem seems to be unique to Leopard. Or maybe just unique to me.

  • No Document Library Task Flow Found

    As mentioned in the webcenter tutorial, the "Document Library" Task Flow be available in Resource Palette/Webcenter Service Catalog/Task Flow.
    But is is not apperaing in my JDev. Any reason for this.
    This is required to complete the tutorial? Any pointer "how can resolve this?"
    Thanks In Advance!
    Priya.

    Yes, I installed Webcenter Extensions. Also I created Webcenter Application, not Fusion Application.
    I am getting many Task Flows such as "Document-List View", "Document-Recent Documents" etc, not "Document Library" which is required for the tutorial.

  • How to share the same Database Connection when using several Task Flows ?

    Hi All,
    I’m using JDev 11.1.1.3.0.
    I’m developing ADF Fusion Applications (ABC BC, ADF Faces…)
    These applications are deployed on a Weblogic server.
    Each application has only one Application Module.
    All Application Modules have the same connection type defined: JDBC DataSource : jdbc/GCCDS
    It is working fine.
    I’ve also developed Task Flow Applications for small thinks that are reused in multiple main applications.
    Each Task Flow Application has also one Application Module with the same connections type as main applications.
    All these task flows are deployed to JAR file (ADF Library JAR File) and are reused on my main applications. (drag and drop from the Resource Palette to ADF Regions….).
    There are some parameters passed to Task Flows, so that they can filter data depending on which main applications they are called from.
    Everything is working perfectly.
    All my main applications are using more and more task flows. Which is nice for the reusability etc…?
    Only ONE PROBLEM: DATABASE CONNECTIONS.
    Every Task Flows service made a database connection. So one user may have 10 database connections for the same adf page. And when there are 100 users that are working at the same time, it becomes a problem.
    How to share the same database connections for the main applications and all task flows which are used in the main application?
    Best Regards

  • Problem with ADF security and task flow calls

    Hi.
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0.
    I encountered a problem when tried to apply ADF security to my application.
    The way to reproduce the problem:
    1. Create new Fusion Web Application;
    2. Import Business Components from Tables from any existing schema and add at least one table to the ApplicationModule.
    3. Create "welcome page" (for instance, welcome.jsf). Add a button with fixed action outcome "test".
    4. Create test page, for instance, test.jsf. Drag and drop any view object from Data Controls onto the page and create a form with navigation controls. Add a button with fixed action outcome "return".
    5. Create bounded task flow, name it "test", drag and drop our test page on it - the page will be the default activity. Add a task flow return activity. Add a control flow case from the default view activity to the return activity, set From Outcome property to "return". So our return button should cause the task flow to exit.
    6. Open adfc-config.xml in diagram mode and place our welcome page on it. Then drag and drop the test task flow to create a task flow call activity. Add a control flow case from welcome page to task flow call activity, set the From Outcome property to "test". So our test button should call the test task flow.
    7. Configure application to run the unbounded task flow starting with Welcome view activity.
    At this point all works as expected: when application runs, the welcome page is displayed with test button. Pressing the test button results in displaying the test page, return button leads back to the welcome page.
    Now let's configure ADF Security.
    Run the ADF Security configuration wizard, choose ADF Authentication and Authorization.
    On the second page select Form-Based Authentication, check the Generate Default Pages flag.
    On the third page choose No Automatic Grants.
    On the next page keep the Redirect Upon Successful Authentication unchecked. Press Finish.
    Open jazn-data.xml to configure roles, users and resource grants:
    1. Create application role test-role.
    2. Grant the test-role privileges to view the test task flow.
    3. Create user and grant him the test-role.
    Now we have the public available welcome page and the test page with restricted access.
    When application runs, the welcome page is displayed as expected. Pressing the test button redirect us to auto-generated login page. After successful authorization the test page is displayed. But nothing happens if we click now the return button for the first time. When we click the return button once more, the application crushes with Error-500 and message "Target Unreachable, identifier 'bindings' resolved to null". The exact error trace depends on UI control bindings, but looks like this:
    javax.el.PropertyNotFoundException: //C:/Users/DUDKIN/AppData/Roaming/JDeveloper/system11.1.2.0.38.60.17/o.j2ee/drs/Test1/ViewControllerWebApp.war/test.jsf @10,120 value="#{bindings.Id.inputValue}": Target Unreachable, identifier 'bindings' resolved to null

    @Lovin_JV_941794
    The welcome page is public available since it does not have appropriate PageDef file.
    Login page comes not from the welcome page, it comes after attempt to access the test page. So after the login succeeded the test page appears, because redirect to welcome page after successful login is not configured. I do not need to return the welcome page at this moment, I need to go to the test page.
    It seems the task flow call stack to be destroyed after redirect to login page.

  • Error while runtime customization for task flows in jdev drop6 build 11

    Hi,
    I am using jdev drop 6 build 11. I am trying to build a webcenter application in which I want to drag and drop task flows at runtime. I am able to add the ADF components at runtime. I am also able to expose the task flow at runtime on the UI after creating my own catalog. And after this error I am not able to add the ADF components as well. It gives the same error. This is the error I get:

    This isn't really the appropriate forum for ADF questions. You should have better luck with the JDev forum:

  • Adding Saved Searches task flow to a Page Template

    I am trying to add the Spaces "Saved Searches" task flow to my custom page template. I have tried a few different approaches and none seem to be working.
    First, I tried simply dragging and dropping the task flow from JDeveloper's Resource Palette into my template. JDeveloper created added the following to my template source code:
    +<af:region value="#{bindings.allsavedsearches1.regionModel}" id="pt_r1"/>+
    After uploading the changes to Spaces, there seemed to be no change to the rendered template.
    Second, I tried to simply add the task flow to a page in my test space via composer. However, as soon as I click the "Add" button next to the Saved Searches task flow, the page goes blank (white screen of death) and the following message shows up in the spaces error logs:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: com.sun.el.parser.ParseException: Encountered "\'" at line 1, column 65.
    Finally, I looked at how the out of the box templates implement the saved searches functionality. It appears that the saved searches use a custom folder in the Default Navigation Model. I looked at the source in the Default Navigation Model and found the following node:
    +<customFolder factoryClass="oracle.webcenter.search.view.rc.SearchServiceContextFactory" id="savedSearchesFolder" visible="true">+
    +<attributes resourceBundle="oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.resource.WebCenterResourceBundle">+
    +<attribute attributeId="Description" isKey="true" resourceBundle="oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.resource.WebCenterResourceBundle" value="NAV_APPLICATIONS_CUST_FOLDER_SEARCHES.DESCRIPTION"/>+
    +<attribute attributeId="IconURI" value="/adf/webcenter/foldersavedsearches_qualifier.png"/>+
    +<attribute attributeId="Title" isKey="true" resourceBundle="oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.resource.WebCenterResourceBundle" value="NAV_APPLICATIONS_CUST_FOLDER_SEARCHES.TITLE"/>+
    +<attribute attributeId="WEBCENTER_SERVICE_ID" value="oracle.webcenter.search"/>+
    +</attributes>+
    +</customFolder>+
    I copied the entire node and put it in my navigation model. Upon rendering the template, I can see the new node in the navigation but when I click on it, nothing happens.
    Can someone please tell me if I am on the right track with any of these three approaches? Or where to look to diagnose the issues I am running into?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    UPDATE: I updated the "activation" property in the page def for the allsavedsearches task flow to be "deferred". Now I am getting an ADF popup menu with two menu items: "My Searches" and "Other Members" but clicking on the items does not trigger anything...
    Any thoughts? What additional information would be helpful for analyzing this issue?

  • JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 ADF Library task-flow not shown

    fyi
    Please consider the example application created using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0
    at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2011/TestsInADFLibraryApp-v0.01.zip
    (in the context of forum thread "JUnit test classes in ADF Library")
    At some point, working with that application in JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0, I used the deployment profile "adflibTestsInADFLibraryApp-ViewController-dp" to create the ADF Library "adflibTestsInADFLibraryApp-ViewController.jar" wich seemed to have an issue.
    When in a File System Connection on the Resource Palette, that ADF Library did not show the task-flow(s) it contained.
    But, I can no longer reproduce this. If I now try to do the same, the ADF Library seems to be OK. The only thing I can think of that changed, is that JDeveloper has been restarted (a day later).
    Showing both ADF Libraries in File System Connections on the Resource Palette illustrates this
    at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/img/2011/task-flow-not-shown-jdev111150.png
    When I looked inside the ADF Libraries, the respective "task-flow-registry.xml" files were somewhat different:
    - in the "broken" ADF Library there were lots of XML namespace declarations
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
    <task-flow-registry xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/rc">
    <task-flow-descriptor xmlns:ns0="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/rc" ns0:path="WEB-INF/btf/browse-employees-btf.xml" xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/rc" ns1:id="browse-employees-btf" xmlns:ns2="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/rc" ns2:type="task-flow-definition" xmlns:ns3="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/rc" ns3:uses-page-fragments="true" xmlns:ns4="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/rc" ns4:library-internal="false" xmlns:ns5="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/rc" ns5:train="false"/>

    </task-flow-registry>- in the "ok" ADF Library there was only one XML namespace declaration
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <task-flow-registry xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/rc">
       <task-flow-descriptor path="WEB-INF/btf/browse-employees-btf.xml" id="browse-employees-btf" type="task-flow-definition" uses-page-fragments="true" library-internal="false" train="false"/>
       <task-flow-descriptor path="META-INF/adfc-config.xml" id="" type="" uses-page-fragments="false" library-internal="false" train="false"/>
    </task-flow-registry>- (q1) How can these not shown task-flows (or its different task-flow-registry.xml file) be explained?
    many thanks

  • ADF train task Flow display name comonent value from bundel

    hi
    i have som problem with adf bounded task flow train.
    i build a bounded task flow as fragment and train and i add display name component to each view , but how i can give the display name value from a view controller bundel .
    regards mohammad.j.yaseen

    1). Select the component for which you want to set the attribute to a bundle
    2). In the property inspector, click the context menu next to the attribute you want to pick from a bundle (the thing that looks like a "V" next to the field"
    3). Choose "Select Text Resource..." from the resulting menu

  • Secure page unbounded task flow

    i need to secure access to jspx pages in a unbounded task flow. what is the best way to achieve this using jdev 11.1.15 ?
    as of now any user is able to access any jspx pages by typing a URL after logging in.
    Edited by: 963798 on Dec 17, 2012 4:06 AM

    You can't stop users from accessing pages defined in the unbounded taskflow as, by design, all pages in an unbounded taskflow are accessible from anywhere in you application. So all you can do is add the pages you want to secure to bounded taskflows, add resource grants to the taskflow (remove them for the actual pages/jspx), configure the taskflows so they cannot be invoked from a url and add the taskflows to the unbounded taskflow (just drag and drop them to the unbounded taskflow or change you view activity to a taskflow call). Hope this helps.
