Task list Migration

Data forms are no longer available in Task Lists when I migrate from Test Server to Prod Server or vice vrsa. Data form folders are same in both the server.
When i click on the attached form task the messege appears The Folder is Empty.
When I edit the task list it require folder path and form for reattachment.
Is there any way to migrate Task lists without disturbing the forms attachment.

You can either use LCM or TaskListDefUtil, more info - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hp_admin/ch09s07s12.html

  • How to enable Gant view for migrated Task Lists in SharePoint 2013

We recently migrated several Task type Lists from an old SharePoint environment (WSS on SP 2003) to SharePoint Enterprise 2013.  I do not see the Timeline, Calendar and Gant View options available for the migrated Views of the migrated lists like
I see for newly created Task Lists in SP2013. Is there a way to enable this feature for these migrated Task Lists?

    Hi,
For this issue, I'm trying to involve someone familiar with this topic to further look at it.

  • CopyApp Migration - Task List issue

    Hi!,
Migrated App using CopyApp. CopyApp did not take care of loading data and the following:
    1) Business Rules --> Did export/Import (followed by change privileges)
    2) Reports --> Export/Import (created connections with same name and pointed to new app/database)
    3) Task Lists has some URL's pointing to source mid-tier server.
Is there a relational table that I can update to change references to source URL to target URL?
    Thanks in advance.

    Found it:
    update hsp_task set str_prop1 = replace (str_prop1,'sourceserver','targetserver') where str_prop1 like '%sourceserver%';

  • Migrating Task Lists associated with the documents

    Hi,
I am currently in middle of migrating documents and all the attached equipment numbers, functional locations, material masters, etc. I have migrated these items and they are fine.
The mini stumbling block at the moment is migrating task lists attached to these documents. I am not sure how I can check any task list attached to a document i.e. for a given document can I see the relevant task list in cv02n or cv03n? Or from where to extract these i.e. with DRAW, DRAD, etc.
    Any suggestions most welcome.
    Cheers,
    Dhaval

    Hi Dhaval,
The standard objects which you have mentioned are tables. And tasklist is a structure. The solution is you can create a view of the tasklist in SAP DMS object link and the dms screen in tasklist IA03 transaction. for this abap enhancement is required)(z-development). This can be achived. But the difference is that like EQUI ,MARA,LFA1 these are tables and standard objects. for adding another objects there is different method(tables). In your case it's structure so make view of it with help of abap'r.
I hope this will resolve the query.

    Ravindra

  • Migrate Hierarchical Task Lists ("Create" Transaction WPSTLH1)

I am new to Data Migration and I have been creating some LSMWs using IBIP and have working General and Equipment Task List load programs.
however the requirement is to migrate Hierarchical Task Lists too.
there seems to be no standard functions to do this, and the way you activate the screen in the transaction WPSTLH1 makes it not suitable for a screen recording (due to the use of mouse to activate the screen)
has anyone successfully created this type of migration objects?
or will i have to write ABAP to do this part?

found program RWPSTLH_DINP that seems to do the trick!

    can someone help?
we are migration task lists with operations that have long texts:
the source is the MPLA and MPOS tables, entered in excel sheet and we have STXT as well, with a few lines of text per operation
when the data is migrated with lsmw, the text comes out weird....strange symbols, no new lines etc etc.
does anyone have experience with migration PM task lists and can give me an idea of what to do?

  • Lost Webform / Task List / Dimension security

    Hi all
Running 11.1.2.1 - Classic Planning App with Shared Services, Essbase etc.
Mysteriously (or maybe not so), one of our two applications has lost all of its artefact level security - ie there are no longer any native groups assigned to Dimensions, Webforms or Task Lists when looking at these through Workspace. This is confirmed when users log in with their id's, as they have no access to anything.
IT team inform me that they were having some database issues this morning, during which I inadvertently carried out a refresh of this application (including security filters). This is the only thing that I can put it down to, although I still cant fathom why this would have the affect it did. Unfortunately (slaps own hand), I didnt take a backup of anything (ie security through SS) before running the refresh.
After a little testing in our development environment it looks like if I use the 'Security'/'Access Permissions'/'Groups' and 'Users' (when looking at the application through Application Groups / Default Application Group within Shared Services), I can Migrate this from a file backup over the problem application and reinstate the security to webforms etc.
However I do not have a recent file backup taken manually available to do this.....
We schedule backups of everything nightly. Is there a particular file we could pick up from last nights backup that would in essence have the same affect as doing the above?
    Thanks for any advice given.
    JB

    John
Thanks for your response, I have asked our IT team exactly what is backed up and will see what their response is? Is it certain files that we will need to restore if doing this?
As an update, I tried the method that worked in Dev, in Prod using just a singular group. This failed with this error:

  • Task list not visible

I am working with Planning 9.3.1 and access to task lists is granted through groups in Shared Services. Recently I added a user to a group which should have given him access to a task list in planning, but when he signs in to Planning it is not visible from the drop down at the top of the page. I restarted the Planning service then restarted all services to try to fix this issue - neither one worked. Any thoughts on what I can do to resolve this?
    Thanks,
    Ed

    Hi,
Have you tried migrating identities? Simply go to any form, task list or dimension member security setting. I can't tell on top of my head but where you see users and groups, you should see a button which says something like "Migrate identities". When you click on this button, Planning re-reads users and groups information and will eventually refresh the security setting.
Alternatively, try synchronizing users and groups information in Shared Services (Administration)
    Cheers,

  • Filter not working in new and old task lists (new farm)

I noticed this after migrating some sites from our current production environment. Even when creating a new task list the filter will not work, however if I make a custom list and add the existing Assigned To column, the [Me] filter will work.
This is starting to drive me nuts, any help would be appreciated.

This is a bug in the March 2015 CU. I have an open case on it, where MSFT is able to repro it. This is just a workaround and hopefully the issue will be resolved in the future. It only impacts Tasks lists.
As to doing it to all Task lists, no I'm unsure of how to accomplish that.

  • LCM issues with Workflow, Task Lists, etc.

I have found several issues with migrating certain artifacts using LCM v11.1.1.3. Note that I have admin rights in all systems, and that there are no special characters involved. So...
    1) Workflow: when migrating Planning Units all of them migrated, including their statuses. But not all PU comments (<annotation>) and logs (<log>) nodes migrated. It happened to almost all users - some who had 1-2 comments in the source system haven't got any in the target one, some got migrated only few (e.g. out of 5 in source, they got 3 in target). Since it happened to all users, it doesn't seem to be security. I have also checked (for those who partially failed) some other nodes, sequence, action, process state - they all seem to be OK. One curiosity I've spotted in few cases, is that in source LCM file (.xml) "priorOwner" node has the name of the user I am investigating, while in the target file (taken after the migration), for that same PU, that node is empty, actually says "null".
Any ideas why this might be happening?
    2) Task Lists: when exporting TLs (in LCM) on occassion <dataForm> node in XML file would be missing for the task that actually has it attached. Again, no special characters are used, and I am admin. Then I tried to use TaskListDefUtil, and even if that list has required node, when I try to import, the task is still not attached to the form. I had to delete all TLs, then use Util files to reimport.
    Anyone with similar experiences?
    smilo

I had issues with tasks lists using LCM in instances where parent task name was same as child task or a task has same name planning web forms. You might also find issues with exporting webforms with business rules attached to forms where form is on plan type A and business rule is on plan type B. In this case, after LCM import, plan B business rule will lose location reference to correct plan type and get associated with web form plan type. In this case you will need to attach business rules again.

  • Set mail attribute in SharePoint Task List "107"

We recently migrated to SharePoint 2010 from 2007.  During the migration on all task lists the
List Settings > Advanced Settings > "Send e-mail when ownership is assigned" radio button got switched to "No" if it was set to "Yes".
I need to have this switched back to "Yes" on all task lists but have no idea how many of these lists are out there or what their URL may be.  I think I found the attribute that needs to be set...
    # Send e-mail when ownership is assigned?
    $list.EnableAssignToEmail = $true
I need a script that would query each of the 3 site collections we have for tasks list which I believe is
    $listTemplate = "107" #Tasks List
and then set the radio button List Settings > Advanced Settings > "Send e-mail when ownership is assigned" to "Yes".  Any help would
    be immensely appreciated.

Updating all Task lists is a bit dangerous as there are SharePoint created Task lists like "Workflow Tasks".
Step 1 is to make sure your PowerShell is selecting the correct task lists. Maybe something like:
    Get-SPSite -Limit All |
    Get-SPWeb -Limit All |
    Select -ExpandProperty Lists |
Where {$_.BaseTemplate -EQ "Tasks" -AND -NOT $_.Hidden -AND -NOT ($_.Title
    -EQ "Workflow Tasks") } |
    Select Title, BaseTemplate, ParentWebUrl, EnableAssignToEmail
Once you are confident that you have found the correct task lists then you could use something like:
    Get-SPSite -Limit All |
    Get-SPWeb -Limit All |
    Select -ExpandProperty Lists |
Where {$_.BaseTemplate -EQ "Tasks" -AND -NOT $_.Hidden -AND -NOT ($_.Title -EQ "Workflow Tasks") } |
    foreach { $_.EnableAssignToEmail = $true; $_.Update() }
BUT... again be very carful to make sure you are only updating the correct task lists!

  • How can I move a task from a Summary Task to another Summary Task in the same task list?

Hey, I tried to move tasks through the SP UI from one Summary Task to other in the same task list, but I didn't find possibility for it.
Then I spent time to learn the SP Client Object Model and now I can read tasks form the list. I see every task has a "FileRef" and a "FileDirRef" field. If I think right these fields show the relation between list elements for example between
a Task and a Summary Task elements.
I changed these fields' values and I tried to Update the ListItem but I got this error message: "Invalid data has been used to update the list item. The field you are trying to update may be read only."
I really need to move tasks what were created below a wrong Summary Task so please explain a method or pattern how I can do this. (I can create a new Task below to any Summary Task and I can set field values but I hope there is a way to really move tasks (I
mean I should change the right field values somehow.).
I can reach the Task List both on the server and client side so I'm very interested in every solution. PowerShell solution is also good for me.
    I'm using SharePoint 2010 SP2.
Thank you for your answer and your time. :)
    Csaba Marosi

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to move a task from one summary task to another in the same task list.
We can do it like this:
We can create a Gantt View for this task list, then copy your tasks inside a summary task, then navigate back to the other summary and paste, then go back to original and delete.
Here is another way for your reference:

  • Workflow task list is missing or damaged. SharePoint 2010

    SharePOint 2010 Enterprise
Customer created workflows for the annual review of our QPC Emergency Plan.
The document library  shows that there is a EP_Review workflow “In Progress” for each section.   However if you click into the “In Progress” link to see the actual progress of the workflow it shows no Visio diagram, it’s just a blank white
space (not even an error message) and under the Tasks section it gives the message:
"The workflow task list is missing or damaged.  Please contact your administrator for more information"
I looked in the Task List and there are no tasks showing, which normally does show when we kick off a workflow.
I ran a report on the EP_Review workflow for Cancellations and Error messages and the system comes back with the following error message:  "Report contains no Data"

    Hi mikeatquestar,
it seems you may need to check if should the task able to create at your environement,
you may try this at your development environment first:
Saved a task list as a template from a working site collection and moved the template to the problem site collection. Used this template to create a new list, and associated this list to the Workflows task list.

  • Create task from conversation thread in news feed - Task must be created in custom task list

    Hi All,<o:p></o:p>
    Have a new requirement
were user should be able to create a task for himself from a conversational
    thread in News feed.<o:p></o:p>
    In
SharePoint 2013 we have a functionality where we can follow up on a
conversation and it creates a task in My Tasks which is in My site.<o:p></o:p>
    But my requirement
is to create a task in Tasks list in same site collection on click of follow
    up.<o:p></o:p>
    I have
tried one approach as below :<o:p></o:p>
    My Tasks in
My site is an aggregated view of all tasks assigned to the logged in user. When
i follow a task in News feed a personal task is created in My task
(WmaAggregatorList_User internal name) list. When i Edit the personal task and
    change the Projects
drop down to the required Project Name and Check -"Make this task public to project
members" it just creates a task is specific Site and moves
    the task.<o:p></o:p>
    I tried to
find if Projects and Check box are columns of Task list , but did not find any
    columns.<o:p></o:p>
    I am trying
to create a event receiver which would make these columns be set to Site Name
and check box checked so that when user creates a task it will directly move to
