Task sync in Exchange

There is no option to sync Tasks with my exchange server. Mail, calender and contacts works fine. Is there a 3rd party app that does the job well? I did a search but nothing was obvious. Even if one is avaiable I was wondering it if really works well or not.

    Hi There,
    i followed
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj552524(v=office.15).aspx. to configure task sync witth exchange server.
after successful execution of all the cmds i m getting following errors in ULS logs
    1. An Operation failed because following certification has validation errors.
when i click site mailbox in my sharepoint site im getting following error:

    Hi  ,
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) configured for the Default Zone is a requirement for web applications that are deployed in scenarios that support server-to-server authentication and app authentication. This is
such a scenario. As a prerequisite for configuring Site Mailboxes, the computer that is running SharePoint Server must have SSL configured. For more information, see Create
claims-based web applications in SharePoint 2013 and follow the steps for creating an SSL site collection and server certificate.
You may need to import the Exchange Server SSL certificate from Exchange 2013 to SharePoint 2013, and from SharePoint 2013 to Exchange 2013. This is only necessary if the certificate is not trusted for the
API endpoints (such as a Self-SSL Certificate in a lab environment).
To import an untrusted SSL certificate to a new server:
Open Internet Explorer and navigate to Outlook Web App (if the deployment is on SharePoint Server) or the SSL SharePoint site (if the deployment is on Exchange Server): https://<ExServerName>/owa or
    https://<SP_FQDN>.
Accept to trust the certificate by clicking Continue to website.
Click Certificate Error info in Internet Explorer next to the Address bar, and then click View Certificates.
Select Install Certificate and then select Place all certificates in the following store.
Select the checkbox to show physical stores.
Install the certificate to Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Local Computer.

What version of Outlook do you use? I don't think this works for Outlook 2010, I believe it needs to be Outlook 2013.

  • Office 2011 Task sync with Exchange Server is overwriting data

Originally posted at answers.microsoft.com. No help there. They suggested I try posting here:
A little background in case it's important:
    SBS2008 Server w/ Exchange v7 8.01.0340.000
I run an RDC connection to a virtual server running Office 2010 (this is not the same server hosting Exchange)
I run a Mac with OSX 10.6.8 and Office 2011
I use both of these workspaces simultaneously. Previous to installing Office 2011 last month, I ran Office 2010 from the RDC connection. Everything worked fine from that side.
Now that I'm using Outlook 2011 task management is very strange at times. I'm in MacOS 95% of my day. I'd prefer to use Outlook 2011 rather than 2010 through an RDC connection, which is the reason I purchased 2011.
The issue(s): Suppose I create a task in Outlook 2011, and save it; then, later I go back to make edits. If Outlook happens to sync while I have the task open in edit mode, it will get overwritten with the previously saved version. The only workaround
I have found so far is to hit the cmd-s button nearly as frequently as punctuation. At least I never lose more than a sentence fragment.
However, one thing that I can not seem to resolve at all is completion status. If I ever have occasion to re-activate a completed task--which does happen--toggling the 'completed' button back off and saving the task does not re-set its status back
to active. The 'task complete' flag seems to fall outside of the purview of the save function. So, while hitting 'save' regularly when editing tasks retains the data, every time exchange syncs with the tasks, it will mark the task completed again.
I have double/triple checked the server's time and my workstation's time are the same--down to the second. I've tried closing the Outlook 2010 application on the PC. I've fiddled with the sync services preferences in Outlook 2011 to sync to the
Exchange server, to my computer (and combinations of both); I've set the outlook folder to add new items to the Exchange server and to the local machine. The results are always the same as outlined above.

    Hi,
Please start Outlook in safe mode and check whether the issue persists. Also make sure there is no third-party autispam program installed in your machine. If there is, please disable it to have a try.
Personal suggestion, if the issue only happens on your Mac with OSX 10.6.8 and Office 2011, I suggest we can ask a question in Outlook 2011 for Mac forum in Microsoft for more help:

The recent software update on my HTC One has caused errors with Exchange ActiveSync issues. Calendar, mail and tasks sync fine but contacts won't sync. How do you correct this?

I had the same problem.  Here is what worked for me.  Open the mail app and delete your exchange account (Settings > Delete Account).  Then re-add your Exchange account.  After this my Exchange contacts showed up again.

  • Exchange Server Task Sync

    Hi,
We are getting some strange errors when our Project Manager tries to Publish a Project. These errors relate to the Exchange Task Sync step but the error message doesn't really help. This particular Project is a Master than contains sub projects

Why do tasks reorder spontaneously in reminders app when synced to exchange account?  OS X and iOS are affected.

This describes my problem almost perfectly.
Same here: I try to move an item to another list and whenever I select the target-list, it is more or less a lottery whether the task has landed on the correct list or not.
Since I wanted to build a GTD system with Reminders, I think I will skip this software. "Trusted System" has a different meaning.

The error message you are getting would suggest that you don't have Exchange 2013.  The default task sync only works with Exchange 2013.  But there is a farm level feature that can be turned off to go back to syncing tasks the way it worked with
Exchange 2010.  Then you can go to a particular task list and use the "Connect to Outlook" button in the ribbon to sync that list with Outlook.

  • 700wx to 8330 ? How can I sync w/ exchange server at work (contacts/calandar)

    Hello..
Wow I'm not sure this is the right device for me.. Verizon 8330 Curve.   I really need to be able to sync up w/ my works exchange server for email, contacts and for my calandar; how can I do this?   Any help would be appreciated, I'm missing my treo already and I wasn't hoping it would be this way.
    Thanks!

    hello,
direct Exchange sync requires through a BES server (that the IT of your company have to buy and install).
There is no ActiveSync for Blackberry.
You can contract a BIS account, that will enable you to receive emails from an email address. It you want to sync with Exchange services (email, address book, tasks, calendar...) you can look at Blackberry Unite and/or Desktop redirector (that will sync with Exchange through your Outlook client). The infos I am giving you are not accurate, but should help you find more information.
The search box on top-right of this page is your true friend, and the public Knowledge Base too:

  • Integrate Sharepoint task list with exchange server

First question is it possible or not? I have tried to search a lot on this topic but does not find a way to achieve this. I know how to integrate task list with outlook but I want to integrate it with exchange
server. Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.

    Hi  ,
In SharePoint Server 2010 , tasks lists are blindly synced to the local Outlook desktop application. You can see SharePoint Tasks only on the client computer to which the SharePoint task list was downloaded.
If you log on to another device, you must sync the SharePoint task list to that device in order to see the tasks.
But in SharePoint Server 2013, SharePoint Server 2013 task lists use Exchange Server to sync, tasks are updated in real time and can be seen on any device that you use to access Microsoft Outlook. When SharePoint
Server is connected to Microsoft Exchange Server, and all client computers are connected to Exchange Server, client computers receive information from the task lists directly from Exchange Server.
For a workaround, you can use 3rd Party tool  to connect Exchange Server to SharePoint task lists. For  more  information, you can refer to the blog:

  • Flags set in Mac Mail being reset on sync to Exchange

    Hi everyone
A couple of my Mac Mail accounts sync with an Exchange server at work. So far so good, but I use flags extensively in Mail as part of a GTD approach to time and task management: Urgent, Not Urgent, Some Day, Awaiting Response, Delegated and Done.
Only problem is that these flags keep getting reset to Red every time Mac Mail syncs with Exchange, though oddly enough Exchange seems to leave them alone if I've set a flag whilst not connected to my work LAN.
So typically I flag an email as Done, but come back 5 mins later find that it's been reset to the red flag in Mail which I reserve for Urgent. This definitely doesn't help GTD
Before anyone asks Ive gone into Exchange and tried to duplicate the flag structure and names, although I had a feeling this wouldn't work: and it doesn't.
I've tried looking this problem up online as there must be many users of Mail who sync their inbox with an Exchange server and who also use flags to tag messages, but without finding a way forward.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
    Thanks, Tom

If the other folders you're referring to are local folders to the PC, they will not be available to any other devices no matter what mail application you are using.
If you check the sidebar in Mail at the bottom, any other folders on the server will appear under the Exchange account name. Expand the folder to see what's there. If the other folder are on the server, they should appear there.

  • Any ideas for how to sync to Exchange 2003 - contacts and calendar

    Hi
I am still searching for a mechanism to give me the sync solution I want, which is as follows:
At work I have a PC running Outlook 2003 via an Exchange Server 2003 setup.
At home I have an iMac running Snow Leopard
In the middle I have an iPhone 3G
I want to sync Calendar and Contacts across all three machines.
I want to sync work email between the Exchange server and the iphone, but do NOT need this to sync on my iMac at home
    That's it.
At the moment I can sync email, calendars and contacts successfully between the Exchange server and iPhone, using the over-the-air Exchange Sync on the iPhone. But sadly my iMac will not sync contacts and calendars to the exchange server 2003 as Snow Leopard only supports exchange 2007.
Ironically (because I don't need this bit to work) I have managed to get my iMac to sync with my Exchange server EMAIL, by selecting the Exchange IMAP option when setting up the mail account on my iMac (as opposed to the Exchange 2007 option). However, I cannot get iCal or Address book to sync with Exchange 2003, regardless of the options I select when setting up the new accounts in Address book or iCal. I guess these just do not work with Exchange 2003
I know that I cannot use mobileme as a solution, as you cannot have two over-the-air syncs going on, and I need to maintain my iphone link to the exchange server via activesync
I also know that using itunes to sync via the cable will not work, as this creates separate contacts and calendar files on the iphone and so does not provide the syncing solution I seek.
I have tried using google to act as the middle man between my iMac and Exchange server data - getting the iMac to sync to Google Calandar and Google Address Book, and then using a third party piece of software called gsyncit to sync from google to the .ost outlook file on my PC workstation. This works some of the time, but keeps crashing and leaving me with multiple duplicates to have to sort out - much too much hard work on a regular basis.
So I still do not have a solution. Unfortunately upgrading to Exchange server 2007 is not a solution.....
    Any new ideas out there
    Thanks

I don't think there will be a solution to this. Exchange 2003 just isn't supported.

  • After IOS8 upgrade IPhone5s syncs with exchange but IPad2 syncs ONLY Mail and Contacts, NOT Calendar.  Totally stumped. Ideas anyone?

After IOS8 upgrade IPhone5s syncs with exchange but IPad2 syncs ONLY Mail and Contacts, NOT Calendar.
Also, my other tablet - Samsung TabS - has same issue - calendar wont sync. My IPhone and my desktop (windows) synch just fine.
Google calendar syncs on all devices. Totally stumped. Ideas anyone?
    THANKS

    1.      Log onto Outlook Web Access
    2.      Top right hand part of the screen select "Options"
    3.     Select "See All Options"
    4.      Select "Phone" menu
Check if you have 10 Devices registered.
If you have, you need to delete one of them to add your new Smart Phone to Exchange for synching
Check the "Last Sync Time" to indicate if this device is still active or not.
