TB 27" Display - Black Horizonal Lines and Low Brightness (MBAir & MPro)

Example image shows TB display problem with MB Air (Mid-2013, 10.9.2). Same problem can be seen with Mac Pro (New, 10.9.2).
Before I box this thing up and send it back anyone have any tips?

Same problem here with my TB 27" (march 2014), only the horizontal lines on my screen are gray instead of black.
Cross-checked it with 2nd MacBook & 2nd 27" TB.
Thankfully my dealer is willing to swap it for a new one.

  • Black Vertical lines and a thin yellow haze in the center of my screen

I can't seem to find the answer to this question, or one that my be a solution. I recently discovered black vertical lines and a yellow haze in the center of my ipod nano 4GB.
One discussion said I should put it to sleep for 4 hours and the lines will erase. That didn't work. What's the common cause to this and how can I fix it? And could it be because I converted it from a mac to windows itunes?

Try giving it a reset. hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if that fixes it.

  • N95 has two black horizontal lines, and restarts f...

My n95 shows two black lines on its screen, restarts frequently and everytime I connect it to charger, it works fine. But when I disconnect it, it turns off quick. Is there any self-solution here?

    Welcome to Discussions, BlackBerry_XD.
This is likely a hardware problem on your N95. However, you may still try using the Nokia Software Recovery Tool with the phone connected to a charger - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/mobile/support/faq/?action=singleTopic&topic=FA142987
Otherwise, you need to send the phone to a Nokia Care Point or to a reliable phone repair shop.

  • Amazon Revolving Line and Lowes Business

I applied for both again last week with NO PG.Called this morning into commercial lending and he said they are pending verification and transferred me over to verification. My business phone is on a Verizon Wireless Business account but it's through a Home Phone Connect and I think that is causing some issues... she asked if it was a wireless number and I explained it's a business account through Verizon but not sure how it shows for them in the searches they use.The other issue seems to be the physical address vs billing address. She then asked if she could call someone at the business location... I said sure it will be me here this am... she put me on hold on my cell phone and called the business and asked if I was the one putting in the credit application and my position with company and then told me to hang up and go back to my cell phone.placed me on another quick hold to finish processingShe comes back that it has been transferred back to underwriting, please hold and I'll transfer you to them!Underwriter comes on and asks to verify company name and then asks to place the call on hold. APPROVED $10,000 Amazon Revolving Commercial LineReceived this e-mail about 30 seconds later:Congratulations! This Amazon.com Corporate Credit Line (ending in 5382) has been approved and added to your Amazon.com account as the default payment method. Hung up with her and called back into Verification line to find the Lowes application... 30 minutes later I'm still holding to even speak with someone... I'll update

Rep comes on at 1 hour 15 minutes and asks for address.she says that doesn't matchI give her the physical address vs mailing addressshe puts me on hold and comes back denied, you will get a letter.I said you didn't verify anythingshe said you will receive a letter with the reasonsI hung up and called back to underwritingshe found it and looked at it and said it was still in verification and transferred meget a nicer guy but he can't find it.I run back inside and get the code off the app screen I printedhe finds it and says it was declined.I said yes by the previous verification rep who didn't verify anything and I spoke with underwriting and they told me it needs to be verified then they decision it not her!he puts me on hold for several minutescomes back and says he is still working on it please hold longer. (I would love to know what tools they are working with to verify these apps and why it takes them so long... pulling business LLC is EASY and quickly shows names with company, address and phone... why would that not verify it right there if matches!)comes back again... he can't get into the app becasue it's been decisionedmind you i look at my phone and I have been on the phone with him for 34 minutes and this whole time he can't even get into the app becasue of that previous women that didn't want to verify me and put through wrong info and denied it.i have to wait for letter which is stupid because you still can't reconsider them even once i get the letter so basically have to wait 30 days and start again.they are as bad as comenity.

  • Unibody Macbook Pro 17inch Display problems, vertical lines and artifacting

    Hey everybody
I bought my 17inch MBP at B&H in June (week before WWDC, D'oh) and it was working fine until I came over to Ireland to work on a editing job for the summer, as soon as I attached it via mini display to a second monitor I started getting artifacts and vertical lines in certain shades and colours on the macbooks display, its gradually gotten worse so much so in fact that it is nearly unusable.
I have seen the thread about the firmware update, but my computer is already up to date with that but it still has this problem, I contacted apple and was told to take it to the apple store and the genius bar in Belfast, as helpful as the rep was he told me it would be two weeks for a repair, by replacing the logic board. Which I just can't do as I've only got three weeks left on the job and need my mac every day. I've searched and it seems no-one is having this problem except me since the firmware update, but clearly my machine still has problems.
Never had a problem with all my previous Mac's but I'm close to tossing this in the bin please help because if I can't get this solved I will have to move to PC and install my copy of AVID on it as this is the only other available computers at this production company.
What to do? Has anyone else had this problem recently? Or know of a fix for it? I've tried everything downloaded the firmware told me its already installed, switched the graphics displays etc etc
    Please help
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
It sounds like there is a hardware problem of some sort with the graphics chips, and the only real fix is going to be to replace the logic board. So at some point, you will have to send your Mac off for repair.
In the US, you can sometimes arrange to get a loaner. You might ask if this would be possible where you are, since the repair is going to take so long.
Unfortunately, I don't know of anything that would fix your problem other than a repair.
    Good luck!

  • My screen is black with lines and is rainbow because something was thrown at it can you fix this?

My Mac G5 has a black cracked screen with rainbow lines on it because something was thrown at it

    Hi,
To do the PRAM reset, just click on the highlighted words in my last post, it will take you to an Apple Support page which tells you how to do it. No, it will not delete anything.
If you have only had it 10 months, it is under the standard 1-year warranty.
To make an appointment with the Genius Bar, visit this site. If you are not in the United States, choose your region from the pulldown menu on the right.
By the way, that PRAM link is for Yosemite. If you have Mavericks, go here.

  • Display showing grid lines and craziness.

How can I find out what is causing this issue?
From what I've read it could possibly be a failing graphics card, failing LCD, or loose wire.
    Here are my specs:
    iMac (27-inch, Late 212)
Processor: 3.4 GHZ Intel Core i7
Memory: 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 (upgraded myself)
    Startup Disk: Macintosh HD
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
I'm a photographer and videographer, so I'm sure my graphics card gets quite a workout often. I've also come back to find that my computer has restarted itself, likely due to the issue.

I would make an appointment with a Genuis and show them the screen prints. I had this issue with a Macbook and it was a motherboard issue. That does not mean your issue is the same - but it needs to be checked. Screen prints like yours are so helpful for them to diagnose.

  • How can I fix small black horizontal lines on bottom of my Snow Leopard?p

How can I fix fine black horizontal lines {and now I notice shading} across the bottom of my screen?

What kind of machine?  Could try smc and pram reset.  But if it's the display or video card failing it won't do any good.  If it's a mac pro blow out the dust and reseat the video card.

  • 27 inch thunderbolt display blacks out after Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2

Bought 2 new 27 inch TB displays for two different machines and after a couple of days the Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2 appears on my Mac Pro with one of the displays installed. So I install the firmware update.  Now my display blacks out periodically and I keep getting Graphic Display Errors with a request to sent the errors to Apple. Running a 32 GB Mac Pro (late 2013 circular style) I have three monitors connected (two 20 inch cinema displays and the new 27 inch display). This machine is supposed to be able to handle three 4k monitors or 6 standard TB displays.  I've seen the posts about the blacking out with this monitor but I didn't have any problems before the firmware update and now I've got them pretty regularly.  I had the blacking out problem on an earlier monitor and took one of the monitors back and Apple gave me another one and this is the replacement.  Same problem, but this one only started after the update. I'm hoping someone from Apple reads these messages and can let me know what's up.
BTW, I also have an older 27 inch Apple monitor that ran perfectly on this machine so I'm disappointed that I spent all this money and now get the blacking out issue.
    Mac Pro (Late 2013)
    Processor 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5
    Memory 32 BG
Graphics AMD FirePro D300 2048 MB

I have my Thunderbolt display connected to my MacBook Pro and have been experiencing the same issue, getting worse over time.  The folks at my local Apple store did not know what to do about it.  So, I looked around and tried different thing.
The one thing that seems to be working is to System Preferences > Build-in Display > uncheck “Automatically adjust brightness.”
    I hope this helps.

  • I bought a macbook pro retina ME665 in Dubai, and 3 month later its display stopped working properly.some white lines appeared on it and display itself became white and black. Can anybody suggest what should I do to fix this problem?

In October 2013 I was on Vacationin Dubai and bought there Macbook pro retina ME665. I returned to Kyrgystan (home town) and for New Year I was away for a week. When I came back i found that the dispaly of my laptop became white and black, some lines appeared on it. Everybody in my family told me that no one has dropped my laptop or done anything that can cause this problem. there is no any service provider of apple in my country. WIl, the international warranty cover this case? I bought this laptop not from apple store, but in a simple store and I lost reciept.

  • Powerbook display BLACK LINE OF DEATH

Well, I just spent most of my evening replacing the LCD screen on my old G3 Wallstreet. My old display was showing neon greens and magentas in the blacks so I decided to replace it. I received an awesome factory display in what looked like perfect condition.
I haven't replaced a display on a Wallstreet before and it was a mess. I was quite pleased with myself at the end that I somehow got everything back together without any leftover parts.
Well, needless to say after some backlight problems and tearing it apart twice I finally got it up and running.
    But...
Now I have a diagonal black line going down my screen. It's about as thick as a sharpie line and it worries me.
Did I goof somewhere or did I get gipped on my new display? I've tried restarting and I'm keeping it on for an hour or so to make sure it doesn't start smoking, heh.
    Any suggestions/answers?

    I give up.
It's most likely a bad cable but now it is also running much slower than usual, too. I think I'm going to abandon this project for now.
Poor Wallstreet. I tried. I really did.

  • Small Black Vertical Lines follow my mouse pointer AND surround all ICONS

Small Black Vertical Lines follow my mouse pointer AND surround all ICONS on my desktop. I just turned on my computer and it showed like this. I already tested my monitor and it's not the monitor.
See a picture of my problem here on my me gallery:
    http://gallery.me.com/egarfias/100024
Looking at websites, it's fine the display but any icons and my pointer and things that move have these lines following! Looking at VIDEO, it's the picture is full of white and black lines though you can see the video just fine.
    Any ideas? Thank you!!

I am in Safe Mode now: This is the weirdest thing: A bit from column A AND B:
The display is perfect EXCEPT for two parallel lines of 17, 3 millimeter-long black lines that follow the pointer everywhere it goes.
Get this: my current display is 1024x768, but when I change it to 640x480, the pointer and everything is perfect! (of course, I can only see a fraction of my desktop)
But then again... when I zoom in and out holding down control (in 640x480) the pointer lines appear again, but less lines. They disappear when I re-reset it to 640.
    Strange.
But yeah, safe mode is NEAR perfect with the except of the cursor lines. I can screen grab my cursor though to show...

I am getting a green line  and a black open space on the side of my Mac Mini TV when I set it up.  I have tried every different resouloution and it is still there.  The problem is that when I click Detect Displays, nothing happens to the screen.
Please help, I just got this today and I want it to function properly ASAP for a Project I am doing.

What kind of connector is it using?
DHCP seems to be a problem, do you have a DVI or VGA adapter & does the TV have that?
