TBridge error 180097
I have a test program that injects 10,000 messages to JMS. If I put a 1 second
delay between each messages, all messages are processed. Without the delay, WLS
reports the error below and moves the message to the error queue.
<Nov 20, 2003 2:41:16 PM PST> <Error> <WTC> <180097> <due to a translation error
tBridge has redirected the message to the wlsErrorDestination>
Why does it work with the delay and fail without it? Any hints on what to do
because the documentation (below) doesn't help much.
Thanks,
Rody

Description
The tBridge encountered a translation error and has redirected the message to

The cause of this error is a translation error detected from/to FML/XML.
Action
Correct the message structure and resend the message.
Thanks for your help Bob. We'll resize the tux queue to handle the worse case

Sounds like the Tuxedo being full and not being dequeued fast enough
is your
problem.
You need to check how the message on the Tux side is moved from the Tuxedo
HaQueue
(to the Tuxedo DefaultCISO queue?).
In some later releases/patches the TPException for this will be printed
in
the WLS log
by just turning on WLS debugging(without needing the WTC trace level).
You
nay try this
but I'm not sure how fruitful it will be since you already know the Tuxedo
queue is full.

Bob,
My wls log does not have any TPException. ULOG does not report anyproblems,
except for the Tux queue being full. The tux queue is sized for 1500,Jms
is
unlimited, and I'm sending 10,000 to Jms. The error seems to occurwhen
the Tux
queue fills up and the Jms queue starts to back up as well.
My WTC configuration is below. No FML translationis performed (default). The
messages in the error queue show that they are from the JmsQ2TuxQdirection (Jms->Tbridge->Tux).

Rody,
There are several possiblities for the 180097 showing up. They depend
on whether you are doing jmsQ2tuxQ or jmsQ2tuxService, and whether
or not you are doing XML<=>FML translation. Since it is a problem
that
occurs when you remove the delay then I would guess that there isnot
a problem with jms=>tBridge(i.e. tBridge consuming JMS messages) or
tBridge=>jms(i.e. tBridge putting tux replies on the JMS queue). Sothat
leaves timing problems with tBridge sending or receiving from Tuxedo.
(tpenqueue/tpdequeue or tpcall/getReplyBuffer).
Normally I would tell you to turn on WTC tracing but with this volume
testing that would dump a ton of messages into the WLS log. So check
the Tuxedo logs for indications or check the WLS log for a
TPException message.

[wtcdebug.txt]Mauricio,
I think this is an old console error in creating this mbean. The
WTCtBridgeRedirect
is mistakenly defined under the scope of the WTCtBridgeGlobal mbean
where it should be at the same level(ie a child of the WTCServer mbean).
The WTCService expects to find it as a child of the WTCServer mbean and
throws the exeption when it doesn't see it.
I think the fix is to edit the config.xml and move the termination for
WTCtBridgeGlobal("</WTCtBridgeGlobal>") to before the declaration
of the WTCtBridgeRedirect.

The "WebLogic Tuxedo Connector Administration Guide" (BEA WLS 6.1, December 19, 2001)
Chapter 5: "Configuring tBridge",
last section: "Limitations"
mentions: "when there is an error, the message is put back in the source QSPACE.
Assuming the QSPACE is corrupted or full, subsequent messages would be lost."
QUESTION: will be this limitation
(a single message having permanent errors will stay forever in the head of the fifo
queue -->
resulting in QSPACE full --> reulting in loss of all messages)
be solved in a future version ?
If YES, WHEN ?

You need to turn on the WTC tracing to get a better idea of when it is
failing. Messages from/to a JMS queue need to be converted from/to
a buffer type that is usable for the Tuxedo queue/service. Conversions
occur for STRING,FML,FML32 or CARRAY buffer types. Check to make
sure that the buffer types that your application is using, on both WLS and
TUX sides,
is consistent with the configuration settings and your expectations.
Set the trace level above 15000 for tBridge. Above 65000 will print out
all the tracing.

config failure>Matti,
There isn't anything obvious that appears to be wrong for the WLS 7.0 or
WLS 8.1
configurations of WTCtBridgeGlobal.
The WLS 8.1 WTCtBridgeRedirect has an empty definition for TargetAccessPoint
(which you define as JMSBRDG in the WLS 7.1 config)
In both examples I don't see any JMSServer definition for the queues you
are using
(ie ura.jobs.queue).
If you turn on tracing for WTC (weblogic.wtc.TraceLevel=100000 property
on server startup)
you should see the specific attribute on WTCtBridgeGlobal that is failing.
The WLS 7.0 console problem with creating the WTCtBridgeRedirect was
fixed and you should
be able to do the tBridge configuration using the WLS 8.1 console.

Mauricio,
This looks like a tBridge random error that occured in the 1.0 version
of WTC
with WLS 6.0(WTC as a separate .jar file). A fix was made for this and
was
available when WTC was released with WLS 6.1(WTC fully integrated into
the weblogic.jar). The current release available is WLS 6.1 SP01.

Need Help on tBridge configuration
Hi Bob,
I am getting an error connecting from Tuxedo /Q to JMS Q using tBridge. I did
the BEA example and that seem to be working.
The situation is this:
I have around 414 Msg in the Tuxedo /Q. I started WLS and the tBridge tried to
pass the msg to the JMS Queue. During processing, my console has a Java Exception
coming up constantly. At the end of the run, Tuxedo /Q has 0 Msg, Jms Q has 92
Msg and JMS Error Q has 0 Msg.
Do you know what happened to the rest of the messages and do you know what this
error means? I don't know why I am getting some messages but not the other.
This is the error that comes up constantly:

BongyHi Bob,
Thanks for your help. The BEA tech support has also helped me on this issue.
It turns out that my DMTLOG was not setup correctly therefore the transaction
was not able to comit on Tuxedo side. However, there was no error on the ULOG.
Thanks for the help.

Bongy,
This is a transaction rollback excepiption. Within the tuxQ2jmsQ operation
a transaction is begun/committed/rollbacked. You need to see what problem
is occuring with prior to the first occurenc of this rollback exception.
Check
all the logs for errors. You can turn on WTC tracing but I think the
problem
is extraneous to WTC. Make sure you check the Tuxedo side ulog. The
messages that could not be committed to the JMS queue should have been
rolled back to the Tuxedo side and you should see them on that side's
error
queue at least.

TBridge vs. Tuxedo /Q configuration settings
Dear all,
Would anyone care to shed some light on the following issues:
- when using TuxQ2JmsQ redirection, what is the relationship between retries
and retryDelay in the WTCtBridgeGlobalMBean and the retries and delay (in
qcreate) of a specific Tuxedo queue?
- does WTC need a TMQUEUE server to tpenqueue messages to a Tuxedo queue?
Thank you,
LaraLara,
1) For TuxQ2JmsQ on the WTC side:
The Retries attribute is not used. An attempt is made to dequeue a msg
from the Tuxedo side
queue. If a failure occurs the message is rolled back automatically to
the Tuxedo /Q. Once a
msg is successfully dequeued an attempt is then made to send the msg to
a JMS queue. If a problem
occurs sending the message to a JMS Q the message is rolled back to
Tuxedo and a sleep occurs for RetryDelay time. It will not stop trying
to dequeue.
So I think that you need to specify the retry and retrydelay that you
want using the tuxedo side
qcreate options.
2) The TuxErrorQueue attribute on the WTC is not used(someday will be
deprecated) and so
has not effect on this TuxQ2JmsQ operation. From looking at the Tuxedo
qcreate documentation
it says that it will automatically send the msg to the Tux error queue
if the retry count is exhausted.
It also says that if the Tux error queue is not defined the msg will be
discarded. I assume therefore
that on your Tux side you have a Tux error queue defined and if you
undefine it the messages will
be discarded.
Hope this helps.

Thank you, Bob.
Could you clarify more the first issue, please.
When using redirection from Tux2JmsQ the wished result is to have a retry of
X times with a delay of Y sec. If still failing after the retries, the
message should be discarded. In such case:
- where should the retries and delay be configured: in WTC, in Tuxedo or
both?
- how about the Tuxedo error queue? It seems that if there is an error queue
configured in the Tuxedo queue space but the tuxErrorQueue in WTC is NOT
specified, we still end having messages in the Tux error queue after tBridge
redirection failures.

Lara,
1) Conceptually they are the same but they are implemented differently
and therefore the usage will
not produce the exact same results in both products(Tuxedo and WLS)
2) A TMQUEUE server on the Tuxedo side is needed(not on the WLS/WTC
side). The qspace provided by the Tuxedo TMQUEUE server is configured in
WTC as an imported service. If you have
access to the WTC samples, the qsample documentation may help.

Correlation ID using WTC tBridge
Hi,
In Tuxedo I use a binary correlation ID so individual char values can be negative.
When the message is transmitted using TuxQ2JmsQ in tBridge and I use Message.getCorrelationIDAsBytes()
in an MDB, the resulting byte array is much shorter. It appears to be terminated
by the first negative value in the original correlation ID. How can this be addressed?
Thanks,
RichardNo direct way . Contact support.

Windows Vista: Ipod Error Message, no longer read by PCs
Hello,
I have a 5th generation black ipod video with 30GB of memory.
The other day I hooked it up to my laptop (Toshiba, 4 months old) that it's been functioning on with no problems whatsoever. This weird error message flashed twice about it not being able to sync because of some software problem.
Eversince then, the only thing I can charge my ipod on is the family treadmill in the basement (~_~) as no other computer in the house recognizes it. I can't even charge it through the wall sockets, either.
I have changed the ipod cord, still no luck. I've also reset the device about 3 or 4 times and uninstalled, restarted the laptop then reinstalled itunes. I would like to reset it back to factory settings but that's impossible as computers/laptops don't pick it up. I live very far from a Mac store...
What's a girl to do? I can't live without my Busta Rhymes and Wu-Tang Clan!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!you have to update Vista go to this site and up-date http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Error while offsetting a variable
Hello Experts
I want to display the data for last 5 years in my query. So I tried using the SAP exit variable Current Calendar Year (0CYEAR) and the offset it by 5. However, I am getting the following error message for the query "System error in program SAPLRR12 and form REP_ASSIGN_INITIAL_OPT-01"
Any Help on this is appreciated and points will be assigned.
ThanksThanks Chetan for your prompt reply. I have assigned points.
But I would appreciate if you help me clear my understanding of offseting a variable.
Say if the Current Calendar Year variable returns 2008, then will offseting that variable by 5 return me the data for years 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005 , 2004. Or, will it just return me the data for 2008 - 5 = 2004 only.
Thanks
