TC Console 6.x remote layouts

The local and remote layouts are created under the same name, but it appears that they are menu selected separately. I would have liked to have both activated together using the layout button via IR remote. Is this correct that the only way the remote layout changes is via the soft-key labeled Remote layout?
Also found the remote layout holds the last selected one even when a new call causes a new default to be active. You need to activate the last used one, then you need to select a different one then reselect the original.

Hi Joel,
I don't think there's any easy way you can switch both layouts simultaneously with the Remote.
For all the purposes we need to do this, we use the Compositor API functionality from an external control system to change both the local and remote layouts.
I'd suggest if you really need to be able to do this with the remote that you log a Feature Request through your Cisco Account Manager for possible inclusion in a future release.

  • Unified Attendant Console - License and Remote Site

I need  an Attendant Console solution for a 6 site IPT design.  I have CUCMBE at the corporate site with 5 remote locations.  I want to have an Attendant Console in each location.  I was going to use the Business Attendant version, but  see it only support 3 Queues, thoguht I had read it was 6 queues, so I guess I need to go with the Enterprise version.
    1.  To support 6 active clients, I need to order 6 licenses at $2950.00?  Seems awful expensive compared to the old Attendant Console...
    2.  Queues would need to be created for each site, Business only has 3, but Enterprise has 50?

Hehe Chris, you're right. I've always thought that this is only the language for the installation details, but I've just tried it on my PC.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Elom Java Console "Connect to remote host Fail"

    Hi,
I'm accessing an elom over the https interface, which works fine, however when trying to launch the Java console, the app starts but a dialogue box appears stating "Connect to remote host Fail!", and quits when I click ok. I'm using:
    Kubuntu 9.10
    Firefox 3.5.5
    Java 1.6.0_15
    Elom firmware version 2.70
I've also tried running against JRE 1.5, and tried saving the jnlp file and running that directly from javaws, all attempts produce the same result. I am able to connect to port 8890 from my machine. An strace seems to suggest that it sends and receives from port 8890 but then gets a Connection reset by peer.
Furthermore I've also tried running it through localhost using an ssh tunnel to the elom, again, same result.
I've now run out of ideas of what could be causing this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    TIA
    Regards
    Craig

FYI, I downloaded the debian package of libstdc++5 from http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/gcc-3.3/libstdc++5_3.3.6-18_i386.deb
After installing that on Kubuntu, the console works fine.

  • ELOM Remote Console Scriptability and Remote Storage Questions

    Hello,
I have a few questions reguarding scriptability of the Java Web Start eLOM Remote Console and the use of this application for redirecting remote storage.
    Setup:
    - x6250s in 6048 chasis
    - x6250 Bios version 1ADPI040 & SP version 4.0.52
    - Sun eLOM Remote Console version 2.53.05
    - CentOS 5.2
    Questions:
    - I'd like to write a wrapper script that would allow me to start a remote console on the Linux command line. Then, a command line like "myjavaconsole bladexyz" would give me a java remote KVM without me having to click through the web interface. Is something like this possible? Hints?
    - The [Sun Blade X6250 Server Module Embedded Lights Out Manager Administration Guide|http://docs.sun.com/source/820-1253-14/remote_con.html#0_66586] says that you can use the eLOM Remote Console GUI to redirect storage devices including CD/DVD drives, Flash, DVD-ROM or diskette disk drives, hard drives, or NFS. These seem very instersting options, but I've only been able to sucessfully redirect an ISO image. Are these other options really possible?
    - Is it possible to script the mounting/unmounting of remote ISO images or other storage? I would love to be able to control blade boot processes by having this functionality.
    Thank you,
    -Matthew

It seems the problem is related somehow to the setup of my Windows box. I did try a couple of other Windows boxes with the same result, but everything worked perfectly when using a Linux/ubuntu system to run the remote console. The blade saw the CD, booted from it, and is now happily running ESX Server.
The wierd thing is, the ubuntu system was running inside VMWare Workstation on the same Windows PC that has the problems, and was accessing the same physical CD drive. Sometimes you have to think out of the box, or in this case into a box inside the box:-)
I guess if these things we all straightforward I'd be out of a job, so I shouldn't complain!!
    Steve.

  • Console.log for remote device?

I have everything setup so far. Inspect is pretty nice so far, I was doing everything manually with Charles, Weinre and vhosts, but the shadowing function of EI is pretty nice!
So, I'd like to see my console.logs in the Remote Inspection, but I don't see anything when I refresh the iPad. I have a very simple "Ready" message that shows up in the Dev Tools Console in Chrome on my desktop. Should I be able to see that log if I refresh in the remote iPad? (I'm also using the .xip.io vhost approach)
    Thanks!

You should be able to see all of your console.log messages from the inspected device in the weinre window, but there is one caveat to that and I think that's why you're not seeing your "Ready" message. For the page to be instrumented properly for remote inspection to work we have to inject a snippet of javascript into your page. We do that injection in the page load complete event on the device. That means that any log messages that happen prior to or within a short period after the page complete event can be missed. Any other log messages should work correctly and show up in the weinre window.
You might get better results if you put the weinre javascript reference into the page yourself, but I haven't tried it out.
    Hope this helps,
    Mark

  • Cannot login to OBIEE 11g EM,console and analytics Remotely

    Hi All,
We are facing a issue with login in EM, Console and Analytics of OBIEE 11.1.1.5.
We can login in EM, console andanalytics on the host where OBIEE installed. But from other machine, for example my laptop, the login process is hanging there. It could not login successfully.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Jai,
I am able to access the login pages of em,console and analytics when i am giving the credentials its trying to log in and then redirecting to same log in page with no error returned.
Server is installed on the windows 2008 machine and the browser used is I.E 8 as per the company rules we are not supposed to use any other browser.
I am sure about the host file could please tell me what was that and what need to be taken in that.

  • Extending DOS console facilities to remote system

User on one windows system should get the control of DOS facility on another windows system. Virtually, it should be working on another system from one system.
    Current Status:
Current implementation is based on java.lang.Runtime(executing cmd.exe). get the control on i/o streams of process and provideing input and sending response from process.
This is working for Request/Response type commands but cant able to execute interactive commands as like "ftp xx.com" , "dir|more" , [commands where DOS will ask y/n] , telnet etc.
Additional requirement is the context of previous commands [path, classpath setings] shall be preserved so that next commands will utilize these settings.
    Constraints :
Operating system authentication is not allowed
Port opening is disabled due to security reasons
Should work over low bandwidth dial up line
Can anybody provide some inputs on how do this in java?

The current system is a layered structure, where there will be one server system and under that 1 layer of systems will be there. Under each system of this layer, there will be one more layer of systems called workstations. The server system should able to execute dos commands on all the workstations. The server cannot access workstations directly. Intermediate systems acts as messenger between server and workstations. We are able to execute normal dos commands but cant able to execute interactive dos commands.

  • Remote for External I/O Console(Big Silver o

Ok I think I have a small problem with my sound card and External I/O Console and the remote that came with it.
I bought the card on it'ss own and it worked perfect right form the get go, then I ordered the External I/O Console and suddenly the Auto Update no longer sees any Sound blaster(Creative) products in my PC, (I took the side panel off and Yeap?.sound cards in there branded with Creative) and the remote control has no effect when I try to adjust anything. I can adjust from the I/O Console and all works but not the remote.
I?ve checked for Entertainment Center but can't see it as being installed, I tried to install it from the Upgrade kit CD which came with the Console but all I get is an error message that says to:
Make sure nothing is running (All creative drivers cancelled) including all software running in the background.
    2 Empty Temp Folder (done)
3 Try to re-install again (done 5 times)
    Error Code 6003
So I couldn?t install the Entertainment Center which helps run the Remote.
I?ve listed the links for the Products I have below so you guys can see what I have attached.
Any help would be much appreciated
PS: I've changed the Batteries in the remote so that can't be the problem.......unless the remote is faulty

  • Remote Mgr Console java not working 64bit

Is anyone else having issues using the java based console screen in Remote Manager (I assume this what people call "NoRM"?) on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine?
We just upgraded our workstations, these are brand new Dell Precisions, and now I can't manage our Network 6.5 boxen.
In Firefox, it won't 't even open the console window: in IE9, it opens, and I can manage to type in maybe 1 to 3 characters, then it freezes up, rejecting any further input.
I'm using the latest Java, jre7up21. I'm using the 32 bit version as the browsers are, I believe, 32 bit. (well... Firefox is anyway). At java.com, both browsers past their test and show the latest version.
I wound up trying to install the 64bit version as well, then older version, and nothing worked, started uninstalling some older version, it got to where it broke the java plugin altogether, so I did a system restore from before all this nonsense, and if I go to java.com and run the test, it works successfully.
I'm about ready to throw out this machine and hook my old one back up.

Thought I'd update.. I found that disabling caching also breaks ConsoleOne, so not really a viable solution after all.
I had to have my machine re-imaged, ultimately, that fixed it.
Now, months later, the problem has suddenly returned, and is also affecting coworkers, so it's not just me; and when I attempt to open the console screen via NRM, it whines about security and needing an update and simply won't run (even if I click on activate).
But updating before had created the issue, far as I know.
Lose-lose. I guess I have nothing to lose by trying to update though, because I can't get in now as it is.
Thank God for the ability to SSH, at least.
I hate Java. Seriously. It's flaky, unstable, insecure, and slow. Why couldn't developers just write for Windows and Posix systems and leave it at that? The "one size fits all" philosophy results in something that fits no one very well, but the industry has invested so much into it that we're stuck with a krufty psuedo platform.

  • Reports only showing up in local admin console?

Ok, so I am stuck. I have installed SCCM 2012 without issue and installed the Reporting Services point using the same system as the SRS server. Everyhting at first appeared to be great. Using the local console on the server all the reports show up and run
    fine.
However, when I use a console on a remote workstation (same login as server) everything works fine except reports, the reports always show up as "No Items Found." I can use the same credentials and browse to the report server and run reports through IE all
day long, but nothing I have tried can get them to show up in the console on the remote workstation. This client has quite a few people who will need to access reports this way, has anyone else seen anything like this?
    Thanks,
    Karl Koehler, mcitp, mct
P.S. I teach the MOC SCCM 2012 classes, the reports frequently do not show in the local console and a reboot fixes it. So this one really has me stumped.

Thanks for the replies, to answer your questions:
There is nothing special about the dB or SRS setup, everything is set to the default.
The systems running the remote consoles are in the domain, and have tried it on systems with UAC turned off completely.
I am able to access the reports through the reporting website without issue, but I haven't added the certificate to the clients (they do not have an internal CA and so it's using the self-signed.)
Do we think the console only uses HTTPS? Because that could be the issue. I'll add the cert and see what happnes and post back.

  • PIX 501 config - access to internal network not working from remote VPN users - everything on the inside is OK

One other thing - I had a problem with the key pairing so I rebuilt the rsa 1024 and the unit started working. Unfortunately I reloaded without the config in place and now I cannot get it to work again. Any help will be greatly apprecaited although I did review a dozen other posts of people having similar problems and for some reason there is never any conclusion as to the solution and I am not sure why.
Some other info from the client end:
I just ran the stats on the client and packets are being encrypted BUT none are decrypted.
Also Tunnel received 0 and sent 115119
    Encryption is 168-bit 3-DES
    Authentication is HMAC-SHA1
also even though the allow LAN is selected in the Cisco VPN client it states the local LAN is disabled in the client stats
also Transparent tunneling is selcted but in the stats it states it is inactive
I am connecting with the Cisco VPN Client Ver 5.0.07.0440
This config works. It is on the internal net 192.168..40.x and all users obtain dhcp and surf the web. It has required ports opened. The problem is that you can connect remotely via the VPN and you receive an IP address from the remote-vpn pool but you cannot see any machines on the internal network. The pix is at 40.2 and you cannot ping the pix and the pix from the remote PC connecting via the VPN and youcannot ping the remote PC from the PIX console when the remote is connected and receives the first IP address in the VPN pool of 192.168.40.25
I need to  see the internal network and map network drives. I have another friend that is running the same config and it works but his computer is on a linksys wireless and has an IP of 192.168.1.x and the IP he receives from the VPN pool is 192.168.1.25 so I do not know if the same network is allowing this config to work even if there is an error in the config. In my present case I obtain the ip of 192.168.40.25 from the VPN pool and my connecting pc on 192.168.1.x    I really am not sure how the VPN virtual adapter works. I am assuming it routes all traffic from your connecting PC to and from the virtual adapater but I really do not know for sure.
Other people have had similar issues with accessing the internal network from the VPN. One solution was the split-tunnel, another was the natting and another had to do with the encrption where there and an issue with the encrypt and ecrypt which was stopping the communicaton via the VPN.
I still cannot seem to find the issue with this config and any help will be greatly appreciated.

    ****************** End of config
I have been searching docs and other people's postings trying to obtain the info to make this work. It appears pretty much boiler plate but I believe my problem is in the natting. I am using a range in the internal network for the VPN pool and I have tried switching this to other networks but this has not helped. Unfortunately I have been unable to get the PDM to work and I believe this is a PC config thing and I did not want to waste the time on it. I read a post where a person using the PDM interface with the same problem (not being able to access the internal network)  was able to go to a section in the VPN wizard and set the Address Exeption Translation. They said they originally set the VPN subnet when they did not have to. Many of the other blogs I read also stated that if the natting is not proper  for the VPN pool- that it will not work but I am confused by the examples. They show as I do the complete range for an access-list called no_nat_inside but I believe it should only have the VPN pool IP range and not the entire network since the others do require natting - not sure if my thought process is correct here. Any help will be greatly apprecaited. Also this morning I just tried a boiler plate example from CISCO and it also did not do what I need for it to do. And I also connect a PC to obtain an IP to see if I can see it - no good. The PC can ping the PIX and viceversa but no one can ping the remote PC that connects via the CISCO Remote VPN client even though it receive an address from the vpnpool. Also include LAN is checked off on the client. This was mentioned in anther post.
    Thank you once again.

    Hi,
PIX501 is a very very old Cisco firewall that has not been sold for a long time to my understanding. It also doesnt support even close to new software levels.
If you wanted to replace the PIX501 the corresponding model nowadays would be ASA5505 which is the smallest Cisco ASA firewall with 8 switch port module. There is already a new ASA5500-X Series (while ASA5505 is of the original ASA 5500 Series) but they have not yet introduced a replacing model for this model nor have they stopped selling this unit. I have a couple of them at home. Though naturally they are more expensive than your usual consumer firewalls.
But if you wanted to replace your PIX firewall then I would probably suggest ASA5505. Naturally you could get some other models too but the cost naturally rises even more. I am not sure at what price these are sold as used.
I used some PIX501 firewalls at the start of my career but have not used them in ages since ASA5505 is pretty much the firewall model we use when we need a firewall/vpn device for a smaller network/branch site.
Here is a PDF of the original ASA5500 Series.

I am afraid that its very hard for me atleast to troubleshoot this especially since I have not seen any outputs yet. Also the very old CLI and lack of GUI (?) make it harder to see what the problem is.
Could you provide the requested outputs?

  • Viewing Reports on a remote computer - SCOM/SCCM

    Hi,
We are having an issue in which I am hoping somebody will be able to assist with.  Both are at 2012 R2 version.
    1. We have SCOM and SCCM installed on the same server.
    2. We have 2 instances of SSRS running on this server as well, one for SCCM and 1 for SCOM.
    3. The SCCM instance is running off the default instance and the SCOM instance is running off a named instance.
The issue that we are having is as follows:
Operations Manager Reports tab doesnt populate on a Remote Computer that has the operations manager console installed.  It works fine when directly connecting to the server.
When trying to open the Web Console from a remote computer we get an unexpected error has occured with the following error log.

  • How to access solaris management console from web browser??

    Hi,
I am running Sol9 with the latest patches. The console gui freezes every time I try to admin NIS users in my NIS toolbox. It used to work but now it doesn't. I need to access this thing from a web browser if that's possible since there is no console that I can install on my windows laptop that can connect to the server.
Can this be done?? I can't find any info on docs.sun.com on what URL and port to use.
I did find something that says there is a /usr/sadm/bin/smcwebserver but it does not exist on any of my machines.
    Help?? Please???
    Thanks,
    Tom

On my machine, when I point my browser to http://<hostname>:898 (the management server port) I get a nice message telling me that a web version of the Solaris Management Console is not currently available. Running the console tells me I'm running v2.1 which is what came out of the box.
I think the webserver component you refer to only ships with v3.0 and later. You can go to http://wwws.sun.com/software/solaris/sunmanagementcenter/index.html and download a base version for free to check it out.
By the way, I don't use a remote console to manage remote servers. It's too clunky. My solution for running the SMC remotely is to start an XServer on my laptop, telnet to the Sun host, su - root, set DISPLAY=<mylaptop>:0 and then run smc directly from the host. As long as there's no firewall blocking port 6000 between you and your host, you should be OK. This should be straightforward if you've run any graphical X apps before.
However, I don't administer NIS and my laptop is a Mac. Your mileage may vary considerably.

  • [Forum FAQ] Introduce Windows Powershell Remoting

This article will introduce three methods of Windows Powershell Remoting:
    Method 1: WMI
    Remoting Cmdlet: Get-WMIObject
    Protocols: WMI/RPC/DCOM
    Port: Random port
    Data Encryption: Clear text
Note: No need of the WinRM’s installation and configuration
    Method 2: PowerShell Remoting Commands
    Remoting Cmdlet: Invoke-Command
Protocols: HTTP (wsman), MIME, SOAP, XML
    Port: 5985
    Data Encryption: Encrypted
Note: Support any cmdlets in the parameter scriptblock, however, need the computer install WinRM, and also need to configure the WinRM on the remote computer.
    Method 3: PowerShell Remoting Interactively
    Remoting Cmdlet: Enter-PSSession
Protocols: HTTP (wsman), MIME, SOAP, XML
    Port: 5985
    Data Encryption: Encrypted
Note: Support any cmdlets, all cmdlets you type are executed as if they were typed on the console of the remote computer. However, need the computer install WinRM, and also need
to configure the WinRM on the remote computer.

    2. Powershell remote in the same domain with WinRM installed:  Invoke-Command, Enter-PSSession
    2.1 PowerShell Remoting Commands: Invoke-Command
If you only have a couple of commands to execute on the remote computer in the same domain, you can use the
    Invoke-Command cmdlet.
For example: Server1 want to remote manage Server2
    1) Enable powershell remoting on Server2
Launch Windows Powershell as “Run as Administrator” on server2, and run:
    Enable-PSRemoting –Force
    Note:
In Server 2012 (but not Windows 8), PowerShell remoting is enabled by default, so you don't need to do anything.
    2) Run invoke-command on server1
    Invoke-Command -ComputerName server2 -Credential domain\username -ScriptBlock {get-process}
If the user account run with Powershell has the admin permission, there is no need to specify the credential parameter.
The script above will run the cmdlet “get-process” on server2, and a temporary connection will be built, the result returned to server1, and the connection broken.
If you want to run powershell script .ps1 file on server2, however, this script is stored on server1, you can achieve as below:
    Invoke-Command -ComputerName server2 -Credential domain\username -FilePath d:\1.ps1
    2.2 PowerShell Remoting Interactively: Enter-PSSession
    To work interactively, use
Enter-PSSession to connect to a remote session, all the cmdlets you typed in your local console is executed on the remote system until you leave the remote session by using
    Exit-PSSession.
After configure the WinRM on server2, you can run
    enter-pssession on server1 (Figure 3):
    Figure 3:  remote with enter-pssession
2.3 Powershell remote with Pssession:  New-Pssession
Whenever you use Windows PowerShell Remoting with the ComputerName parameter, a temporary session is created for you and used only for this particular command. Once the command
completes, the session is automatically closed.
If you start to access remote systems more often or would like to keep the session state, a more efficient way is to create sessions yourself and keep them around until you no longer
need them. To achieve this, instead of specifying the parameter computername, you can also specify Pssession in the Session parameter of the cmdlets
    invoke-command and enter-pssession (Figure 4).
    Figure 4:  persistent session
If there is no need to use the Pssession, you can use the cmdlet
    Remove-PSSession to close the session.
