TC powers on then off

My time capsule powers on and flashes the amber light and I can hear it starting up but after about 5 seconds it powers down.  Any idea what the problem is? If I reset my TC will I lose all my data? Also, if indeed my TC has failed can I recover the data on it?  I have lots of pics I do not want to lose.  Thanks in advance for your reply.

A Gen1 TC should be dead by now and will not have any warranty left even under apple care.. once it goes past 3years.
A reset is pointless and it is better not to do it.. the TC fails with the extra load spinning the hard disk requires. You can open the TC.. the method is widely reported on the internet. eg http://www.ifixit.com/Device/Apple_Time_Capsule
Put the hard drive in a cradle and you can recover your data. That is assuming the hard drive is ok.. but they seldom go bad .. it is the power supply that dies.
You can replace the power supply with something else or get a repair person to do it.

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Satellite C855-S5350 powers on then off after a few seconds

I am fixing a Satellite C855-S5350 for a family member because the unit is out of warranty. It turns on for a few seconds, the optical drive spins and the fan blows, but then it turns off. When it's plugged in, it does this on a loop. It's only 2 years old, so it should be working. I opened it up and cleaned the fan out of dust with a can of air, I've tried clearing the CMOS and the 30 seconds power button without any power cable or battery, I've tried switching the 2 sticks of RAM in every possible combination, but all this is to no avail. Anyone have any idea what this could be? It's frustrating and also makes me a little bit ticked at Toshiba.
    Thanks

To reset, press and hold the Home and power buttons until the silver apple appears.
I would delete the app, reset the phone and then download the app again. Your calendar information should be stored on the phone as Week Cal uses the Calendar app information.
    Best of luck.

I powered my iPad off and when I turned it back on it is telling me to reconfigure it. So I select English then United States then I selected my WiFi then message comes up that says your iPad could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached. Try connecting your iPad to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes. Have tried several times and it is still not working. Nothing will show on screen on icons nothing.

Try to Update your iPad to iOS 6.1.4 when connected to iTunes via USB too.. You do not need to touch anything on your iPad to update your iPad either..

  • Z77 g45 turning on then off then on again

OK so I was on my computer I turned it off when I went to turn it on it just goes on for like 2 seconds then off again I tested by using one ram and it still does it also I switched the psu out and it still does it is it a faulty board

This from the z77a-g45 as you didn't specify which z77g45 mobo you have.

This one is dead in between the two pcie slots and next to the battery.
Short the pins while the computer is off and the power cord has been removed.

    Important
You can clear the CMOS RAM by shorting this jumper while the system is off. Afterwards,
open the jumper . Do not clear the CMOS RAM while the system is on because it will
    damage the mainboard.
    >>Clear CMOS Guide<<
If this doesn't work you will need to switch the ram sticks/ try them in different dimms to see if there is a change.
Since you won't give up and additional information some other things to try:
Remove any vga you have installed and try onboard.
Remove the mobo from the case and build in on a uncoated piece of cardboard or other non-conductive surface to make sure there are no shorts.
Remove any usb devices you have plugged in .
Remove the SSD and see if you can at least get to bios.

  • Droid Razr - powers on and off repeatedly - no service - no nothing

I recently had a power button issue on a 3 year old razr (no problems for the entire duration)... Worked great, no complaints... till two weeks ago... Anyway, Verizon sent me a replacement "like new" phone due to extended warranty concerns.  Received it late last week used it one day no issues.  Downloaded some of my old apps (that were on my old razr) and worked fine for one more day.  Now for the past two days, the phone has been powering on/off on its own and doesn't receive any texts, no access to email, internet -constantly says no service. Went for a long ride today to areas where I have previously had service - thinking the thing was trying to do some updates - and the device powered on and off so much the battery completely died.  I am so frustrated I want to be done with this.  Any suggestions?

I'm sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing with your Razr Cornell75. I would be frustrated if my phone was doing these random things. It could be some of the apps you recently downloaded are causing phone to have problems, power cycle, and drain battery. Please try placing in Safe Mode for a few hours, or a day, to see if anything changes. http://bit.ly/PTPbLS
If you notice an improvement, I would suggest removing some apps, if not all, then re-installing a few at a time, (days in between). If you notice pattern starting again, it'll be easier to determine which app it could be, and remove it. However, if problem continues, it may be the device and we'd have to do more troubleshooting, possibly even do another replacement.
Please keep us posted and let us know if improves with Safe Mode/ removing apps.

  • After a reset of settings on IPad2 it turns "on" but i only get to the logo screen with the progress bar under it. so it turns on to logo then to progress bar screen then off. and repeats over and over

Well as I said in the "question", I did a reset of the settings on my IPad2. however when it powered back on from resetting. it lets the the logo screen with the progress bar under it. The progress bar gets about 1/4 of an inch from the left then stops. After a few mins Ipad shuts off then turns on to the logo screen, then goes to the logo/progress bar screen, does whats said above, then off. That cycle just repeats over and over. Any help with this would be appreciated.

  • 55G300U flickers on then off

I've been have a problem for 3 months where the TV ignored the "auto on" setting and started turning the TV on for no reason. Nothing connected to it would be on either.
Today it decided to quit working. When you turn it on the lcd display and word toshiba quick flashes and then goes out. The green power light goes on and stays on. Holding power in for 10 seconds eventually turns the green light off.
If I unplug the cable from what I would call the main board (center back of TV with the transformers on it for 5,12 and 24v) that is the 5v,12v and 24v cable that runs to the input board (has hdmi ports ect ect) I get no volts a on any of the rails. But as soon as I plug that cable back in the lcd display flickers on then off. So do I need to check power on this connector with the cable connected? My meter leads are to big to fit in the connector so I need to get some wire from work thin enough to get in there (I'm an industrial electrician and do this alot for other boards).
Based on what I said which board is most likely the problem? Feel free to ask other pertinent questions cause I'm sure I forgot something.

Apparently no one has had this issue? I find that hard to believe.

Hi can anyone help with a mac that had magnet put on it. I turned it on and then off but a white screen appears with a file with a question mark on it?

File icon with ? mark on it means it can't read from the hard drive. The hard drive is now wiped or bad. If just wiped then you will need to reinstall your operating system, OS X. If bad you will need to replace the drive.
Start with booting the computer from the OS X install DVD that came with your system. If the Mac came with Lion Pre-Installed then you use the Lion internet recovery system to reinstall (Hold down Command+r keys or Command+Option+r keys to boot the computer from over the internet to the Lion recovery HD system).
    Good Luck.
