TC with 6 different IP addresses

Hi,
I am subscribed to a business DSL package and so I have been given 6 static IP addresses. I would like to assign these amongst the machines on my home network (2 Macs and 1 XBox 360) so that each device has a separate IP address. I'm doing this to avoid the hassles that come with NAT.
As I understand it, each time a PPP connection is started, a new IP address is given out to the client computer. Therefore, it sounds like I need to:
a) Put both my DSL modem and my router in bridge mode
b) Connect my two computers via Wi-Fi (they're in different rooms) to my router and hook my XBox 360 up using a standard Ethernet cable.
c) Configure both computers and the XBox to connect via PPPoE. (Is this even possible over Airport?)
I guess this would mean that my TC won't be connected itself to the internet, but I can live with that. Would my computers still be able to connect to the Time Capsule drive via Wi-Fi, though? Because otherwise, my backups stop working.
I see that there's also an option for the TC to give out different IP addresses in the same subnet as it's in, but does that help me with what I'm trying to do?
Thanks,
- Anthony

Or the "Managing Multiple Sites on One Server" in the Web section of the Server Admin help file. Via Google, of course. Or [something here|http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/node/1329]? The underpinnings of this environment are Apache, and you can learn about the pieces underneath Server Admin (and what Apple calls "sites") at the [Apache web site|http://www.apache.org], and in various Apache books.
I found the Apple's web administration manual you referenced contains numerous inaccuracies that it makes it difficult to use. For example, on page 35 is says:
+To create a website:+
+1. Open Server Admin and connect to the server.+
+2. Click the triangle at the left of the server.+
+3. The list of services appears.+
+4. From the expanded Servers list, select Web.+
+5. Click Sites, then click the Add (plus) button to add a site.+
The problem is there is you cannot ad a site from Server Admin, and it actually should be Server Preferences. Server 10.6 has a tab called Custom Sites, and there is no reference to it in the web administration manual. When I add a custom site, which I think is a second website in addition to the one that the server hosts, it asks about IP address and port (80 as a default). the IP address has an option "Any" and "10.0.1.5". I tried both and none of them works.
I will try to research more, but if you have any suggestion on how to setup a second website (domain name) correctly, please respond.

Quote: "You cannot merge two or more Apple IDs into a single one. You can, however, use one Apple ID for iCloud services and another Apple ID for store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match). See “Using one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases” above for details." See also Apple ID & iCloud FAQ: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
You can set up your iCloud account on your iOS device under: "Settings > iCloud" and a other account for store purchases under "Settings > iTunes & App Stores". Unfortunately merging accounts is not possible but you could transfer all of your music manually via iTunes from your Mac or PC.

  • How can i pay on the apple store online with two credit cards, with two different billing addresses

I will be greatful if you could answer me this question...
How can i pay on the apple store online with two credit cards, with two different billing addresses?
I know that you can use two credit cards to pay an item but the problem is that i can only put the billing address of just one of the credit cards, and since the two cards are from different people (my parents) i can't do it. They live in the same place so i don't know if i should just put one of the billing address.
    Thank you.
PS. I don't know if this is the right community to ask this, sorry if i'm wrong.

On the Apple Store "Payment & Pricing" page it states:
Using more than one payment card
You can also combine payment methods to pay for your purchase. Choose from the following combinations of credit cards and Apple Gift Cards:
Credit card(s) - up to two
Apple Gift Card(s) - up to eight
Apple Gift Card(s) + one credit card
During checkout, if you are paying with a gift card issued by a credit card company, you can combine it with one credit card.

  • I want to set up firefox with 2 seperate home pages, using google with 2 different email addresses

I use igoogle, and I have 2 separete email addresses which I use for seperate reasons, as I will be setting up a web page using one of them. As to this I wondered if there was a way to set up having 2 shortcuts or 2 downloads of firefox with each one having a different homepage, but still using igoogle.
Do I need to download another copy of firefox and while setting it up, set it up with the different email address? Or is there another way of doing this? Or is it something that cannot be done?

A have new problem that has appeared in my Mac Mail.  When I type a frequently used email into the 'To: line' it populates the correct name but with 8 different email addresses not associated with that name.  I have gone to the window pop-down to 'previous recipients' and deleted that addressee as well as all the email addresses it is assigning to that name.  I have also deleted the account entirely from my address book.  I have have run repair permissions and also full defrag in iDefrag.  Still the problem persists.  Any suggestions?

    Hello CarolineLongEaton,
I noticed you posted this problem quite a while ago and wondered if you managed to have it fixed in an alternative way then posting here. It is too bad no one has posted a solution here. I have a similar problem and if you have had yours solved since this occurance how you accomplished it may help me with mine. I am interested to know what you have done about yours.

  • Generate invoice with a different Sponsor Address

    Hi all,
Is there a way to generate a grant invoice with a different mailing address for the sponsor?
The 'sponsor' will still remain the funder of the grant - only that we would like to generate invoice with a different address.
Please let me know any solutions that you may have.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
In the second tab of the BP master data, you should see 2 specific things :
    1. Address Overview
    2. Address Usages
Part of the address usages is the address for correspondence.
If you do not see that, maybe it is due to the BP View which is assigned to the BP role (here, the sponsor).
This is valid as from ECC 6.00
In addition to what I had previously said, you should create an additional address in the address overview, and select it as a valid address for correspondence.
If you want to activate the time dependency, check note 810634.
    I hope it helps,
    Helene

  • Can't access pre-existing Behance portfolio because it's associated with a different email address than my Adobe ID

I have a Behance profile of long-standing as ChrisARaymond, and multiple projects, all connected to a gmail address. Now I cannot access it because my Adobe ID is connected to a different email address. I get an endless loop as Behance refuses to let me sign in with my old credentials, and when I sign in via AdobeID, my profile and projects are empty.
Did your programmers think through what you were doing before you implemented this? It's beyond ridiculous.

This is simply and utterly one of the most inconsiderate of all Adobe takeovers. Did you not think artists that use Adobe products might have accounts already with Behance? You have screwed us. Not only that, there is NO way to talk to anyone about how to fix this. I do NOT see anything in this forum on how to fix, why? Big corporate decisions and more money. You suck Adobe.

  • Sending with a different reply address

    Hi,
I have an exchange server with multiple accepted domains.
Each user then has multiple SMTP addresses setup on their account.
    %username%@domain1.com (primary reply address)
    %username%@domain2.com
    %username%@domain3.com
    etc.
I would like to be able to select a different reply address when sending emails FROM OUTLOOK 2010. (I know I can change the reply address from Exchange Management but this is a permanent change.)
The users will need to be able to change the reply address/send as address on the fly.
I know I can setup a pop or imap account as a 'dummy' account but this is somewhat messy.
I have also had a suggestion of setting up 'distribution groups' for each different address. This again is a somewhat messy option as this will dumplicate a lot of work.
The users computers will be setup setup to use an Exchange account and not POP or IMAP. Users will also be using OWA.
    Thanks,
    Dane

    Hi Dane,
How to change the Reply To Address In Microsoft Outlook 2010:
Create a New Email and Click Options,
    Direct Replies To
Check Box Have replies sent to: and Type in the
Reply To Address and Click Close
    Hope it does help.

  • Need to combine two accounts I opened with two different email addresses

How do I combine two of my accounts that I have different email addresses for?I can open both separately but can't sych my I pod with all my music.

This an outline of what i did.
(i did the screenshots using a much smaller version of the image than you posted)
    1. First you want to put both images into the same documents as layers.
You could open both photos and then drag one into the other from the Photo Bin.
    2. With the layer that just has the scoreboard selected, use the Quick Selection Tool to select just the scoreboard.
Then right click inside the selection and press Layer via Copy, which puts just the scoreboard on a layer.
             (named sign in the screenshot)
    3. Move the sign layer below the picture with you in it by dragging in the layers panel.
Then use the Quick Selection Tool to select the over exposed scoreboard, go to
Select>Inverse and then press the Add Layer Mask button at the bottom of the layers panel.
The layer mask hides the overexposed scoreboard.
    4. Select the layer with just the scoreboard and using the Move Tool, position the scoreboard
so you can see it through the hole the layer mask made.
Go to Image>Transform>Distort and move the corner handles of the bounding box to fit the new scoreboard
          in position.
    Optional stuff:
Use the Clone Stamp Tool to clone around the cutout scroreboard to get rid of some of the highlights
Apply an Inner Shadow layer style to the scoreboard (sign) layer
If your going to send the photo by email or other means to someone else and resize the photo smaller, add some sharpening by selecting the top layer, pressing Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E to merge everthing into a new layer, select you,
add a layer mask and use one of the sharpening filters under Enhance>Unsharp Mask or Adjust Sharpness

  • I have set up my wireless network and now have moved. How can I set up a new network with a different ip address

I have set up my wireless network on airport express and worked great. I have now moved and have a new internet provider and need to change my ip address. How do I do this

Is your new ISP providing you with a static Public IP address? ... or are they providing you with a dynamic IP address via DHCP (this would be the most common method for consumer-grade Internet service.) Next, which version of the AirPort Utility are you using? Finally, which version of the AirPort Express do you have?

  • I have an old shuffle that I created with a different email address that I no longer have. is there a way to add these songs to my new account

I have an old shuffle that I still use with many songs. I created this account with an old email address that I no longer have. Is there any way to transfer these songs to my new account so I may purchase more songs and still use my shuffle? Thank you!

Basically, no, but as long as all the music is in the same iTunes library and it doesn't contain protected content from more than five Apple IDs, you don't need to. If desired, click here and ask the iTunes Store staff for assistance.

  • 2 Websites with 2 different IP addresses

I have 10.6 server on a mini, with a single static ip serving 2 websites. Everything is working well, but I was wondering if I could use 2 different static ips to reach the 2 different websites on my server. The DNS entry at the domain name registrar both go to the same single static ip mentioned above. In other words, for example, 1.1.1.1 goes to web site A, and I would like to add 1.1.1.2 to go to web site B. Can this be accomplished in the DNS section of ServerAdmin?
    Thank you for your help,
    Jeff

  • I accidentally created an iCloud account using the wrong email address for my username - I already have an iCloud account with a different email address username. Is there any way I can merge these accounts?

I just upgraded my MacBook from OS X 10.6.8 to Mountain Lion so that I could stream from my other devices (iPhone and iPad) to my MacBook.  After making it through the upgrade process, I realized that I used the wrong email address for my iCloud username when starting up on the MacBook.  My iPhone, iPad, and iTunes are under my Hotmail email address and I accidently used my Gmail email address for the MacBook.  Is there any way I can merge these two icloud accounts together? I tried changing my account information to add the other email address, but wasn't allowed because another account was using the name (duh).  If I can't merge them, how could I change the MacBook from the Gmail address to the Hotmail address so that all my devices are on the same icloud account?  It'd be nice if I could keep the free 5GB of storage that comes with my purchase of the software, but I'd rather lose the storage than not be able to stream.

To change accounts on your Mac, go to System Preferences, sign out of the current account, then sign into the new account.  When you sign out of the current account it will delete synced data from your Mac.  Assuming your data (such as contacts, calendars, etc.) is in the other iCloud account, it will be synced to your Mac when you sign into this account.

  • How do I send email with a different "From:" address?

    Hi,
I have an email account that forwards to my mac.com account, and on my iPhone I have it set up to sync mail with that MobileMe account. Push is working fine and I can send and receive email.
What I'd like to do, though, is set it so by default my outgoing email uses my other email address, not my mac.com address. Ideally, people wouldn't have to know about my mac.com account at all. I can do this on the Mac by setting email addresses in the settings, but can't figure out how to do it on the iPhone.
I'm aware that I could set it up to check the first account directly, but I prefer forwarding that mail to the mac.com account so I get the syncing and push that's available there and not with a regular IMAP account.
Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks
    JT

    Hello,
There seems to be a big difference in sending group mails with maverick. I use groups so that individual addresses don't show up. But with maverick a had a realy bad supprise seeing all of the addresses expanded in the mail I send.
I checked the preferences and the option "when sending to a group show all memeber addresses" isn't checked but they show up anyway. I tested with a small group and there seems to be now way to avoid it.
This is realy embarassing and I'm very ashamed that I send a message that way to numerous professional contacts.
Please correct this bug fast........ since mail isn't usable in a professional setting this way.

  • How do I authorize my computer with a different email address (Adobe Digital)?

I am trying to authorize my computer for Adobe Digital, so I can use my eReader. We originally had authorized it for another email address, but would like to change it.

If you are trying to authorize your computer with a new ID you should first deauthorize your current ID. To do this press Ctrl+Shift+D on Windows (Cmd+shift+D on Mac) (You should be in the library view for this to work). Click "Erase authorization" in the dialog box that pops up.
To authorize your computer with a new ID you can now Click on Help-> Authorize computer (or alternatively press Ctrl+Shift+U on win or Cmd+Shift+U on Mac) and enter your authorization details.
