TC8305C continuously dropping connection on PS3

Ive tried several times to call comcast about my gateway TC8305C continuously and consistently dropping my connection on my PS3 and they offer absolutely no help (no surprise there) and redirecting me to Sony . Ive called Sony and after evaluating my error codes they said that my gateway is the problem . I ahve about 6 or 7 devices that i connect to with no problem and my Playstaion seems to be the only one to disconnect every time . Here are the system logs on the TC8305C gateway and it always seem to switch channels due to "INTERFERENCE" and this is when it drops me on the PS3 . Now im no internet or wifi specialist but it doesnt take a genius to come to only one conclusion here . Comcast still seems to think that Sony is the problem and clearly its not . Time   Priority   Description  Mon Mar 23 02:51:14 2015 Critical (3)  Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=58:23:8c:2e:e8:d0;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:62:26:5a;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; Sat Mar 21 19:36:33 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 6 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 19:06:25 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 1 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 18:51:21 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 6 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 18:47:34 2015 Critical (3)  Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=58:23:8c:2e:e8:d0;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:62:26:5a;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; Sat Mar 21 18:21:13 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 1 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 18:06:09 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 6 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 17:55:23 2015 Critical (3)  Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=58:23:8c:2e:e8:d0;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:62:26:5a;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; Sat Mar 21 17:51:05 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 1 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 17:36:01 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 6 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 17:20:57 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 1 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 17:05:53 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 6 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 16:50:49 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 1 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 16:35:45 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 6 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 16:30:16 2015 Critical (3)  Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=58:23:8c:2e:e8:d0;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:62:26:5a;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; Sat Mar 21 16:20:41 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 1 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 16:05:37 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 6 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 15:35:29 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 1 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 15:05:21 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 6 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 14:50:32 2015 Critical (3)  Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=58:23:8c:2e:e8:d0;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:62:26:5a;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; Sat Mar 21 14:50:17 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 1 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 14:32:17 2015 Critical (3)  Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=58:23:8c:2e:e8:d0;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:62:26:5a;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; Sat Mar 21 14:05:05 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 6 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE Sat Mar 21 13:40:49 2015 Critical (3)  Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=58:23:8c:2e:e8:d0;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:62:26:5a;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; Sat Mar 21 13:34:57 2015 Notice (6)  WiFi Interface [wl0] set to Channel 1 (Side-Band Channel:N/A) - Reason:INTERFERENCE

My WiFi connection would drop out and games/streaming was very laggy.
I was about start running ethernet through my floor but tried one last thing. Within my router settings I changed the security encryption from WPA/WPA2-PSK (TKIP-AES) to WPA-PSK (TKIP). That's it. all connectivity issues resolved.
Give this a try if you are having issues with your WiFi. Thought I would share.

  • My phone continually drops connection to bluetooth headset

I have had my headset paired for months now it continually drops and reconnects to the headset.

Another question to get to the bottom of it would be: Have you had issues connecting and remaining connected to other bluetooth devices?  If not, it's going to either point to there just being an issue with that particular headset/connection.  If it's happening on multiple devices we would need to determine whether it's a hardware issue or a software issue.  I look forward to seeing your response.

  • Palm Pre continually dropping connection on Sprint

Summary: Continually cycling between great connection and no service.
I am in what I would suspect is a dense coverage area, and according to Sprint it is, in the Seattle area.  I bought a pre this morning, and have watched it continue to bop between Phone Offline/No Service/Sprint all day long. It will go from full bars and EV to Nothing, and back again... repeatedly... all day.  I drove all over town to make sure I was not in dead zones... I came home and hooked up to my wireless, and installed the 1.0.2 update.  Same issue.
Do I have a defective radio?  Are there diagnostics I can run.  This has been like Christmas... except my presents are all socks... and the socks are all on fire.
    Thank for any help!

Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

    Hi MryonM,
Welcome to the Palm forums! That is defintely not how the radio should be behaving in a good coverage area. Since you already did the update, here's some diagnostics you can run:
Open up the Device Info app
    Tap More Info
Tap the menu in the top left
    Select Quick Tests
Run that and see what happens. If the diagnostic reports no problems and you still experience this issue, it might be time to call Sprint.

  • IMac Continually Dropping WiFi Connectivity

Due to appalling wired "broadband" where I am, I have to connect by tethering an iPhone 5 over an HSDPA cellular connection. That's all fine.
The trouble is that my late 2012 27" i7 iMac keeps losing connectivity although it continues to be - apparently - connected to the iPhone. Symptoms include no Internet connectivity, dropped connections to the Apple TV, etc.
None of my other equipment is affected, so it's not an overall connectivity issue, just with the iMac.
Is this a widely known problem?

Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Take all the applicable steps in this support article. If you're running OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and take the remedial steps suggested in the summary that appears, if any. The program also generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
    Step 2
Run Software Update and install all available updates for OS X or your computer's firmware.
    Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. Continue if you find that Wi-Fi is faster with Bluetooth disabled.
From that same menu, select Open Bluetooth Preferences. If the box labeled Discoverable is checked, uncheck it. Click the Advanced button, and in the sheet that opens, uncheck the top three boxes, if any are checked. Click OK. Enable Bluetooth and test again.
If the application called "Bluetooth Setup Assistant" is running, quit it. Note: this is not applicable to OS X 10.9 or later.
    Step 4
This step will erase some of your settings in the Network preference pane. Make a note of them before you begin, and recreate them afterwards. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the preference pane.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with "com.apple.airport.preferences.plist" selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Recreate your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 6
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

  • AT&T U-verse dropping connections suddenly

    Hi all.
Since upgrading to Yosemite, there has been a degrading of my internet reliability with AT&T U-verse, and its been getting worse and worse.  I now drop connections every HOUR.  Speed and WiFi strength are great when its working, but it will spontaneously stop working, and if i do a series of diagnostics, quitting safari, turning wifi off and on, etc., I can get back online after a few minutes.  BUT WHAT THE HECK IS HAPPENING?  At this point I've mucked around with just about every network setting so I no longer even know what they should be.  AT&T is fairly useless regarding tech support for Macs, so hopefully someone here knows the current UVerse setup and can give me some advice.  Here's where I stand:
    - I have a 2009 Mac Pro, running latest Yosemite.
    - Router is AT&T Motorola NVG589, connecting to U-verse service (not gigabit, just regular)
    - When internet service drops, it appears that the WiFi continues to be connected well, at least for a while.  The NVG589 status page still shows my machine connected, and the WiFi signal strength in the menu bar remains full strength, but Diagnostics show failure to connect to ISP and internet.  Other Devices, like my phone or other laptops, continue to connect fine, so the broadband is fine, so maybe the WiFi is only appearing to work or something else is going on.  At some point, the WiFi also stops responding until I do a bunch of restarting stuff.
    - I have already trashed the various preference files and created fresh new locations, but to no avail.  It all works fine for a while then goes spotty again.
    - I have my network prefs set to "Link-local only" which had worked fine before.
    - I set the DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
I don't really know much about the various pros and cons of different settings, but apparently you can get the NVG589 to assign a static IP address (or semi-static or something like that) but is that BETTER?   would that end the dropouts?
    Any other ideas?

    Hello Javier Bonafont,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that it can be very frustrating when you are having multiple Wi-Fi drops in signal at home. There are a couple of different troubleshooting steps that I would recommend in this situation. Please refer to the attached article for information and steps to help you troubleshoot this situation.
Wi-Fi: How to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity - Apple Support
Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly
Your Mac may not not stay connected to your Wi-Fi network reliably.
Your Mac may stop accessing the Internet during use.
    Solution
Use these steps if your computer disconnects from its Wi-Fi network unexpectedly.
Check your range to the Wi-Fi router and reduce the effect of interference. If your computer is too far from your Wi-Fi router or your environment has too much Wi-Fi interference, then your computer may not detect the Wi-Fi network properly. The easiest way to check for range limits with your Wi-Fi network is to move your computer or your Wi-Fi router closer together and make sure that there are no obstructions (such as walls, cabinets, and so forth) between the router and your computer.See Potential sources of wireless interference for more information about interference and solutions.
Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. If your computer works fine when connected to a different Wi-Fi network, then the issue may be related to your network router or ISP. In that case, contact the manufacturer of your router or your ISP.
    Best regards,
    Joe

  • FiOS Quantum Gateway Router - Intermittent Dropped Connections

I just got this router and incredibly disappointed!! I had the Arcotec.. Excuse my spelling and was having intermittent problems with that but this new a Gateway is herendous!!! I can't believe they charge you a 199 for this. Wifi signal lost constantly. Called tech support.. Now they want to charge me 75 bucks for an extender that they say will help.. Optimum looking better all the time!! Very frustrated.

I am experiencing the exact same issue. My issue also started after i upgraded to their 50/50 plan and swapped out my Actiontech M42xxx for the Quantum Gateway Router. They had me do the following and i am still having the issue. 1. disconnect the coaxial cable and the power from the router2. Reset the fios box in my garage by unscrewing the battery power and removing the battery3. Replaced the router (Verizon did this and the replacement was another Quantum Gateway)4. Replaced the box in my garage (Verizon did this)keleko68 wrote:
Hi All, I upgraded my FiOS service a couple of weeks ago to the Quantum 50/50 service and bought the Quantum Gateway/router (model# FiOS-G1100). I used to use the Actiontec router (model# MI424WR, Rev. I). I've been having issues probably for months with intermittent or dropped connections on both wired and wireless connections. Fast forward to the beginning of December. I called tech support enough to the point of them sending a tech out to look at it. My ONT was old, and he replaced it. I had hoped that this was the issue, but it wasn't. The drop-offs continued. I again hoped the upgrade in service and router would also fix the issue. Nope... didn't. This 'latest, most powerful' router only has two lights on it, one for wireless signal and the other that looks like a globe. The router sits on my desk, so I can watch the lights.  While I am surfing around, the globe light will suddenly flash for about 5-10 seconds. While this is happening, my connection drops/stops, and then resumes a couple of seconds after the globe light stops blinking. I also noticed that the globe light will turn red once in a while, but not nearly as often as the blinking white does. It's not really consistent as to how long I can be online before the connection starts dropping. I haven't honestly watched it for a long period of time (in other words, I don't know if it's still doing it while I'm not at the computer). I just notice it while I'm trying to use the connection. Once the router starts disconnecting, it can happen as often as every few minutes. VERY annoying. My setup is:2 Mac laptops (one used wirelessly and one used wired connected to a display)1 Apple TV (wired)1 Apple Airport Express (wired)1 printer (wired) I don't have any cordless phones, powerline adapters, wifi extenders, or other electronics that might be messing with the signal. I use VPN software but haven't noticed a difference with it on or off (I think). Any thoughts as to what this might be or where to look? Thanks in advance.       I am still having the issue. there is obviously an issue and either Verizon knows about it and doesn't want to say they know there is an issue and fix it, or they are too dumb to take the time to find out. Each time i call i give them detailed information on the issue and ask them to check their knowledgebase if its listed as a know issue and they keep saying it's not. The issue happened again tonight, 1/8/15. at first my laptop dropped Internet connection while i was surfing. then i checked my other wi-fi devices and they all lost connection. i then went and checked my wired devices and they too lost connection. I look at the router and this time both the Globe Internet and the Wi-Fi lights were solid white. i looked at the Internet Ethernet light and the bottom light was green. I could have resolved the issue by unplugging the router and plug it in back, but instead i called Verizon so they could see the issue. 10 minutes into the Verizon call queue the Globe Internet light changed from solid white to solid red. 5 minutes later i finally got to speak to a tech. at first he said the box in my garage wasn't connecting to the router and asked me to disconnect the coaxial cable and the power and, according to him, he sent some command and instructed me to connect the coaxial cable and power the router back on. I did that and then the issue went away.I told him the rootcause of the issue was not identified and fixed and the issue would occur again and i needed him to alert engineering or product development about the issue. i then told him its a know issue with the router and he should do a google with "Verizon Quantum Gateway dropping connection" and he would see how many people are having the same issue. I told him Verizon need to take their heads out their A*%%%$ and spend some time and investigate and resolve the issue. Me

  • WRT110 Drops connection

    Good day to all!
My WRT110 drops connection from time to time, once or twice at random per evening + when one of my other PCs boot up.
I have a Synology DS209 NAS wired, a broadband internet connection (through a modem) and several PCs on wireless. In this situation the problem is reproducable: I have connection on PC 1, and when I boot any of the other PCs, the connection drops for 5 minutes (both internet and to my NAS) on all connected systems. After these 5 minutes, every system connects again. All systems have DHCP switched on, and all systems have different IPs just before this happens. I have done a "back to factory defaults" and power cycles, but the problem stays.
When I look with Vistumbler (or NetStumbler), I see drops from 90% signal to 0% once per -say- 5 minutes and irregular.
Do I have a defective router?
    Thanks for an answer....

  • Continual Drop in Sync Speed

I have been experiencing a continual drop on sync speed and thus actual line speed over the last few weeks. I had a HH4 replaced aftger teh last one died and since then the line speed seems to be getting slower and slower.
I am on DSLMax (good old ADSL) and normally sync around 8mb as am very close to the actual exchange - am now down to 6.4mb and am sure it will drop again.
Normal instructions from the phone support has been applied - reset hub etc.... and has not made a difference...
Can I ask one of the mod's to try and help out - see why the line is syncing lower than it normally does/has been for the last 3 years....
    thanks
    Pete

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router you may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or if HH4/5 then go to troubleshooting then logs and you are looking for 2 line together when hub last connected to internet and they will show your connection speed and noise margin or if netgear enter 192.168.0.1). Then run  btspeedtester  (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results ( do not reset the router).
are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

  • IPad WiFi continually dropping, but iPhones work

I need to connect to a particular corporate WiFi network.
I have an iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPad3 and an iPad2.  All are running iOS v6.1.3.  All are configured identically for WiFi access to this corporate network.
Both of the phones connect reliably to the network, and both of the iPads connect, but continually drop out to the point that the service is useless.
I have tried everything I could find on the web (Forget this network, turn WiFi off and on, reset network settings, hard reset, etc.).
    Is this a known bug?

    Try #5.
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • AEBS drops connection only on windows based machines (SHOCK!)n

    Hi all
I've got the first gen aiport extrme draftn. No hiccups with my iphone but or mbpro but I've got two windows machines - one runs xp, the other vista. Both continually drop the connection. The router's got atv my cable modem and a few other peripherals wired into it - no issues there.
The PC machines connections drop several times a day and the only way to get things going is to reboot and sometimes reset the router.
Am I using the wrong receivers on the pcs? I've got a linksys usb draft n on one and its just terrible. Do they make receivers for pcs that are more compatible with the aebs (yes id rather trash them and switch to imacs but not practical now.).
Should I give up and hardwire or use a diff network for the pcs? I've got know clue what to do.

    Hi there!
Hopefully between our conversation, someone will be able to lend us a hand (if we can't figure it out on our own?)
I'm fairly similar in some regards, but it sounds like a lot of your issues stem from Time Machine usage, which I don't use my Drobo for, so I unfortunately can't give any feedback on that particular usage-issue.
I do, however, have the Drobo attached directly to the AEBS via USB.
More often than not, it seems like the drobo goes to sleep -- no lights on. I have it in a [well-ventilated] area where I can't always see the lights, but when I open it up when it's "not working", all lights tend to be off -- much like you describe.
Also, the Drobo the ceases to show up under Airdisk (90% of the time).
The way I typically get the Drobo back on is to plug it in to the Macbook directly, and then eject it. Sometimes replugging into the AEBS will work as well.
The worst part is that, on two occassions so far I've lost data -- one time 16GB worth. Nothing mission-critical thus far...but it has me so worried that I dont' even want to plug it into the AEBS to diagnose, as it's bound to happen sooner or later.
Anyone out there have any ideas for us two poor souls? :]
    John

  • My new iMac continually drops wireless signal

Anyone having issues with their imac continually dropping the wireless connection?

Well the solution was short lived and after leaving the laptop in sleep mode for a couple of hours the problem was back. Originally I was told to copy my system configuration folder ontop the desktop and restart my computer. With this only being a short term fix I called back again this afternoon and I was walked through setting up a new location which included adding 2 dns server addresses (208.67.220.220 & 298.67.222.222). Once again this was a short term fix. The next step I was advised was to change the channel of my rotuer. According to the apple advisor they have some reported sucess with users changing the router channel from automatic or 1 to either 6, 9 or 11. I've just changed mine to 9 and after resetting the router and laptop it seems to be working again (longer than it normally lasts). If this fails I guess I will try changing the router to the other channels suggested and if that doesnt work the next piece of advice was to re-install the OS. Interestingly a friend bought the same mac book pro as me and his is working perfectly fine even when sharing the same connection. Very fustrating! Good Luck.

  • Ath9k driver drops connection periodically

Title pretty much explains it. Basically, I'm wondering what this dmesg output means:
No probe response from AP 00:1c:f0:53:e6:d5 after 500ms, disconnecting.
cfg80211: Calling CRDA to update world regulatory domain
    wlan0: authenticate with 00:1c:f0:53:e6:d5 (try 1)
    wlan0: authenticated
    wlan0: associate with 00:1c:f0:53:e6:d5 (try 1)
    wlan0: RX AssocResp from 00:1c:f0:53:e6:d5 (capab=0x431 status=0 aid=1)
    wlan0: associated
wlan0: deauthenticating from 00:1c:f0:53:e6:d5 by local choice (reason=3)
cfg80211: Calling CRDA to update world regulatory domain
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready
    sky2 0000:01:00.0: eth0: disabling interface
    sky2 0000:01:00.0: eth0: enabling interface
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready
And is it a result of me misconfiguring things or just a bug? Ath9k has made a lot of progress recently. Now I can generally connect on resume without having to modprobe the driver, but connection reliability is still an issue.

As a matter of fact compat-wireless-patched-daily does (well DID) fix the problems.
    http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=41485
I have also had problems with ath9k (Asus 1005PEB) much like the OP mentions.  Terrible connection reliability.
The kicker was when I tried a program I use via wine, in VirtualBox running XP instead.  The program is the Full Tilt poker client.  It drops connection constantly. The reliability issues continued identically in VBox just like when the client was run in wine.
The above package fixes it.  Then each time the kernel gets updates, it re-breaks needing a fresh install of the above package.
Now, however the above package doesn't work.  Even if I update the PKGBUILD to use the latest daily file.
I am curious if this is more common on x86_64.
    Annoying.

  • E1200 - Drops Connections

I purchased a Wireless N Router Model E1200. Drops connection all of the time. Hardly reaches 30 feet through just one wall in a single story home. Very cheaply made. Purchased in end of March and died in July. Linksys Tech Support said that they would not fix it or replace it regardless of the fact that I have been a loyal paying continuous custom for several years for both personal use & for my small business. Will NEVER purchase Linksys brand again due to one cheap router that could cost them $4 to replace. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT KEEPING LOYAL CUSTOMERS HAPPY!

    Hi,
That is a sad story to know over there!
Sometimes wireless connectivity really involves a lot of affecting factors; distance, wireless interferce, wireless adapter on the computer, etc.... or really the router if all else are ok.
Would you care to be more detailed as to how the router was configured that is with the wireless so perhaps I can share some inputs that might help.

  • SA520w drops connections

I have installed an SA520w as our office side gateway and users are continually getting dropped connections when trying to use RDP to our terminal servers.  Thing is, they are not going "through" the device, it's just their gateway address, and from there the hop to our internal 4503 router to get to the terminal servers.  When I put the 1701 back in place instead of the SA, things are fine.  Users just basically "bounce" off the SA to get to the internal network.  To top it all off, when I go to the administration tab to check settings, I get logged out saying the session has timed out.  I cannot do anything with the device.  I have upgraded firmware to 1.1.65 already...what is left to do?

                                                 4503 Router<------->Terminal Servers
SA520w is gateway for RDP clients (192.168.1.1)
    4503 Router is 192.168.1.2
    ASA5510 is 192.168.1.254
Terminal servers (191.168.248.x) use ASA as internet gateway.
Static routes on all devices for each network
Some users connect and get disconnected after a few minutes, other can't connect at all.  It's also access to internet that goes away I think, but RDP connection gets dropped, so it's most obvious.  There shouldn't be any "Connection through" the SA520 for RDP users, they should just get routed back to the 4503.

  • 2.1 ghz 667 mhz airport drops connection after snow install

installed snow 10.6.8 airport extreme and express airtunes drop connection or has weak connection must restart

I have shown the problem to the Genius Bar several times. The great people at the Genius Bar know there is a problem, but they are not getting the answers/solutions they need from corporate.
I believe that Apple Corporate has decided that it is more important to have Steve "market" some new ideas at upcoming developer meeting then to make its existing users happy by solving this problems. Many of us who have been loyal MAC users since the 1980's are being "screwed".
If Steve does not to continue to "razzle and dazzle" at these announcements the Stock Market Analysis get crabby and whinny and say that "Apple" is "bad". Which we know is wrong!!! So us users are held at bay so a big announcement can make the stock analysis happy.
Another American company is afraid of being bushwhacked by the "Mental Midget" Stock Market Analysis who thinks "they" control the economy. People, AMERICANS control the market. Our ingenuity and creativity have and always made this country great, not some "Mental Midget Stock analysis who lacks ethics and morals and filled with self-centered greed think that THEY control the economy.
Over the last 20 years the "Mental Midgets" anylsis have done more to screw up the country the the elected officials. These "MM" anlysis need to get out into the real world and see how they have screwed up our economy!!!!!!!!!!
I think I am a little upset, what do you think????
