TCL question - do I have to transfer call or can I just "drop out"?

I am writing an inbound application, and I was wondering, after I play my prompt to the incoming leg, can I just connect the outgoing leg (leg setup), and somehow terminate the script gracefully without disrupting the call, or does my script have to "transfer" the inbound leg instead?
I don't want my script running during the duration of the call, just to give some treatment to the inbound leg.

You should render as .dv is a multiplexed file and FCE works with dedicated tracks.
This is how I would tackle it.
Render the 1 or 2 hour Sequence in FCE and then MixDown.
You will find Mix Down in the Render menu.
I understand the 1 or 2 hour Sequence/s may have mulitple events you wish to separate?
You can set IN/Out points in the Timeline.
Only the selected section between the In/Out points will export.
It should not take very long to complete an audio render from .dv.
Using the above method it will only need to be done once for multiple exports.

I've restored the phone using iTunes on my laptop and checked all the volumes are turned up and the button at the left hand Side of the phone is in the correct position.

Try inserting and re-inserting your headphones 7 or 8 times. Also try cleaning out the headphone jack in case of debris that might be interfering with the connection/disconnection.

THere's generally some type of default notification for a missed call - I'm not sure the point though, if you're not with your phone to hear it ring then how are you going to hear the missed call notification?

I strongly recommend you use compressor to do the conversion (if it will open the files - since quicktime will open them, it will more than likely do it.
Compressor allows you to customize presets and save them and apply them to multiple files. Although the interface may seem daunting, it's actually pretty simple.
Even if you can edit the avi in fcp, it's not a good idea. Liable to cause problems down the road.

Just an adapter to change the US plug style to the one in the country you are going to. The AC charger will do the rest. It is rated for 120-240 volts and will adjust on its own.

aha yes - Lion has changed you harddrive setup and added a "recover partition" Now it gets - not technical - but time consuming.
try:
insert your Snow Leopard installer DVD.
Reboot
Immediately After startup sound, hold down ALT.
You'll be presented with several options. Select your install DVD and continue.
If it doesn't fail:
Once the installer has started, go t the top menu and select "disc utility"
go to the "partition" screen and erase all partitions back to one single partition
return to the installer and install that older OS X version
give to buyer minus the price of a Lion upgrade
If it fails, go to step 1 and boot from your "recovery drive".
once the installer has sarted, go to the top menu and select "disk utility"
erase the drive partition that used to contain OSX Lion - this will remove your private data, all apps and OSX Lion.
Restart, hold own "eject" and remove the DVD, and shut down again.
You'll have to hand it over to the new buyer in this state. Tell him the machine will boot into the Lion installer but he'll have to create an App Store account to download and install OS X Lion. One again, give him a reduced price equal to the price of the Lion upgrade. Way I see it, no other options remain.

The reset link will only show if you have a rescue email address on it - if you hadn't put one on your account (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

Also you should Carbon Copy Cloner your 10.6 boot drive to a blank external Disk Utility GUID OS X extended J formatted drive BEFORE you upgrade to 10.8, because it's really hard to go back to 10.6 manually.
With a clone you can hold option keyy down, boot off the clone, erase the entire drive and reverse clone 10.6 back on just like it was.

Have two websites that I can access just fine and 80% or so of links inside but the other 20% - no deal. first time it has ever happened. Some kind of setting ?
