TCode MD04 & MD05

What are transactions MD04 & MD05. What is difference between data displayed in these two transactions.

Hi Nilesh,
to start with after you run MRP, you get MRP List which is static, that is it shows results of MRP only. It will show the same results till you run the next MRP.
Stock Requirement list is Dynamic, this gets updated whenever there is change in status of material. So this list always give you a updated status.
to run MRP, First you have to customize your plant parameters in CBP.
Next you have to select and enter data in MM Record - MRP Views.
You need to have Info Record for the Material / Vendor combination.
You need to have Source list.
then you run the MRP.

Adding Button in TCODE MD04/MD06

Hi All,
Requirement is to create a new button in TCODE MD04/MD06(already searched SDN on this).
Button should be next to Vendor and Customer buttons provided on this screen (not in Toolbar) with custom fuctionality.
I am able to achive the same on tool bar by using BADI MD_ADD_COL_EZPS.
As per analysis till now , It is screen 750 and subscreen 710. 3 extra buttons are avaliable on 750 screen for this.
These buttons are not coming in LOOP At Screen , and hence I cannot change their attributes.
Please throw some light on this and help to resolve the same.

Reg. User Exit for MD04 & MD05

Hi All,
The requirement is to put an Indicator 'R' in the ROPInfo column of transactions MD04 & MD05 based on some criteria. Kindly guide is there any user exit using which I can update this ROPInfo Column? If not thru, user exit, is there any other way of doing the same?

When and where IDOC is triggered for TCode MD04

Please guide me when and where IDOC is triggered for TCode MD04. In my case it is triggering even though I am trying to save a PO with error or on hold.

Idoc triggers when we save or change the PO. It depends on the message control settings in the partner profile. Check the message control settings.

MD04 : Stock Requirements List
It's a dynamic list which as soon as refreshed provides you latest MRP elements data.
MD05 : MRP List
It's a static list which shows data upto last MRP run.Till you run MRP next time it is not going to updated.

Difference in MD04 & MD05

Hi.
I perform the MRP run & immediate check the MD04 & MD05. But i am getting difference in exception messages of some materials. Can anyone tell why this is happening?

MD05 shaws the last MRP result while MD04 is saws current material Requirement list.
So itmay possible that You can see the differenrent exception massage for the same Planned order or PR.
For example
After running MRP(MRP date 31052008)system generates one planned order no. 1000 (schedule start date 01062008 and date date 02062008).system saws the exception massage 01 due to newly created order proposel)
But due to any problem that planed order doesn't proceed any further in that case u can see the exception massage 07(order finish date in past) in MD04 screen. while in MD05 screen u can find same 01 massage (because it doesn't saw the current situation)

Exception message in MD04 & MD05

Hi experts,
There is an problem related to exception message,
It has been observed that immedeate after MRP run, no other transactions done, I am getting exception message in MD05 for one of the component as "30 - Plan process according to schedule", and the same i am not getting in MD04. What could be the reason for same.
Note: No transaction done after MRP

Rescheduling data MD04/MD05

Hello SAP gurus,
Does anybody know when the 'Rescheduling date' is populated in MD04?
Our system warns us in MD05 when a planned order is created by MRP after the planning horizon. However, this information is empty in MD04. Why?

Hi Oscar,
In MD05 you are seeing the output of MRP run, during MRP run resceduling has taken place and the dates are corrected.
MD04 is a dynamic report giving the current status, since the scheudling dates is already taken care during MRP run, currently the dates are not a problem for the order. This is the reason, why you are not seeing message in MD04.

MD04 MD05 exception 20 only shown in MD05

Hello,
we've the problem that the exception 20 (Cancel) is only shown in MD05 and not in MD04. I know that MD04 is updated dynamically and MD05 is static. There were no changes after the last MRP run, therefore the data in MD04 and MD05 are completely the same. Also no filters are enabled.
Does somebody knows why it could possible that the exception is only shown in MD05? Are there some further parameters, which causes this behaviour?

Hello Siva,
thanks for your support, but we don't use the AFS Component.
The problem with exception 20 occurs only for ShpgNt (shipping notification for sales orders).
All other exceptions appear.

Routing Consistency Check in batch ?

Hey folks!
A business requirement has been raised to perform a consistency check for all Routing Task Lists for a specific plant. I'm aware of the consistency check within the Routing that can be performed online. Anyone know of a batch/background job that can validate routings and report errors?
The business case is as follows: Reference Operation Sets are utilized within Routing Task Lists. If a change is made to the Reference Operation Set (say add additional operations) and these additional operations conflict in the routing this ROS is utilized, this will cause a routing error. Yet there is no way to identify this error until someone checks the routing or writes a production order against.
Any help on the above would be great. Points are waiting to be awarded!

I do not think there is a background program that can run to check for such inconsistency.
However when MRP runs system will detect routing inconsistency & will display exception message against planned order.
So nett result is MRP controller will know about this much before he converts planned order to production order.
They can look for exception messages either under Tcode: MD04/ MD05 or collectively under MD06/MD07 group by exception message.
Message 62 - Scheduling: Master data inconsistent is one such message & it falls under Exception group 4 in standard SAP.
So if MRP controller checks Tcode : MD06 & limits selection criteria by exception group 4 messages he can nail down all such errors in advance.

Unable to delete delivery schedule lines in MD04

Hello All,
In an intercompany process, plant A (receiving plant) placed an order
through Schedule Agreement on plant B (sending plant). Accordingly
schedule lines are released. Plant A received material but schedule
lines are still reflecting in plant B of same qty's.. but not in plant
A. Now we are unable to delete / remove schedule lines in plant B of
stock / requirement list (tcode MD04).
We would like to know why we are unable to delete these schedule lines
in plant B. Pls. let us know how we can delete?

But again system is not allowing to receive, stating qty is exceed over SA / PO.
I have not seen that you mentioned this earlier. Instead you wrote earlier:
In SA history we see only goods receipt happened through movement type 101 followed by invoice receipt. From supplying plant there was NO out bound or goods issue happened. .
CAn you start again explaining your situation as it is totally unclear if you have problems with receipt or with goods issue?
Of course you should only receive after it was issued.
You should double click the message to get the long text along with the message number. the message number would help us to find a solution for you.

The material group (MAKTL) restriction cannot be imposed directly via authorization for tcode MD04. Similar is the case restricting MIGO by vendor no.
The Tcode MD04 checks for auth onject M_MTDI_ORG
which restricts for only for
MRP Controller
Plant
Acctivity types in Materials
Similarly MIGO checks for the foll fields only in the concerned auth objects
Plant
Movement Type
Storage Location.
So thsi cannot be restricted via authorization concept normally.
However you may take the help of your basis /ABAPERs to explore the user exits /BADIs of the related programs.
Or your ABAPERS may help you in this regard by developing some customized reports to restrict the same.

The stock in transit field is not visible in MD04

Stock in transit visible on MD04
STPO 28801084 is internal stock transfer from FI25 to FI28.
Qty of PO is visible in the ´stock in transit´ field on SAO transaction MD04 under plant FI28
when corresponding delivery 1202400481 have been PGId at FI25 (2014/07/07)
Stock in transit NOT visible on MD04
STPO 28502250 is internal stock transfer from FI31 to FI28.
The ´stock in transit´ Qty of PO is not visible on MD04 under plant FI28.
even if the corresponding   delivery 1202323564 have been PGId at FI31 (2014/06/23)

Please take a look on question 9 of the following FAQ note, which explains the standard system behavior:

9. Question: Why does the system not display stock in transit for stock
    transport orders with order confirmation (notified orders)?
    Answer:
    Purchase order confirmations do not have to match the original
    purchase order delivery schedule lines. Moreover, the purchase order
    confirmation (view MDLA in materials planning) does not contain the
    same information as the purchase order to determine the stock in
    transit. The display of the stock in transit is therefore not
    implemented for the purchase order confirmation in the materials
    planning evaluation transactions.

MRP must be active for each plant and the planning file must be set up.You can maintain the parameters for MRP in the material master, in the MRP group or you can maintain the plant parameters in Customizing.
Please check the mentioned settings for your plant.
Activate MRP and set up Planning file
Production> Material Requirements Planning>Planning File Entries-->Activate MRP and Set Up Planning File
Defining Plant Parameters for MRP
Production>Material Requirements Planning>Plant Parameters-->Carry Out Overall Maintenance of Plant Parameters
