TCODE - PPOME
Hi Frineds
Can any one tell me what is "Assigned as of" and "Assigned untill" dates in PPOME TCODE screen
Here i have faced a problem, i have assigned a person to position from 23.07.2008 and "Assigned as of" also the same date i have given instead of 27.01.1980 (my org unit start date)
and remaing all positions are with 2 types of dates in this columns - actual position date and "Assigned as of date - as 27.01.1980
how could i change the date in "Assigned as of " column in PPOME screen, plz help me. need to change it

Hi,
Assigned as of date is starting date of the relationship.
In order to change that date, goto PP01 -> Object type S Object id : position #.
Select relationhips -> All-> Preview .
Select the A 008 relationship and click Change button.
Change the beginning date.
Assigned as of date in PPOME will be changed accordingly.

Hi SDN,
I would like to restrict the drag and drop option in tcode PPOME so that we can drag & drop people and positions but not an org unit.
I think you do this through the object PLOG but I dont know how this is done. Any ideas?
Martincould you check whether you have the following authorizatin in one of your PLOG objects:
PPFCODE=INSE
PLVAR=01
OTYPE=O
INFOTYP=1001
SUBTYP=B002 (and A002)
ISTAT=1
this is what happens authority-check wise (simplified), when moving an org. unit.
or else, kindly copy/paste the PLOG values you have specified for the user so we can have a look at it. -
Regarding BAPI function module for Tcode PPOME

Is there any Bapi FM available for Tcode PPOME for creating or modifying the Position number..Because based on tat position number i hav to update the designation, Position and description............

Can tcode PPOMA be Used for ECC security?
Hi,
We know that PPOMA or PPOMA_BBP can be used to restrict users by their org level or tasks in SAP SRM,Can the same principle be used to restrict users in ECC system through their Org values.
For example.Can a user be restricted to perform his actions only for Plant 1000 or 2000?
I know we can restrict the activities through roles,but is this approach of using PPOMA possible in ECC?
Any comments/opinions on this matter is appreciated?

PPOMA in SRM is used to provide default values to users in procurement transactions. The PPOMA assignment does not restrict the users from performing tasks. For authorizations the program still checks for the org values asssigned to the users roles.
But, Yes the users would not be able to perform the procurement related transactions if they are not assigned to any organizstion node.

Custom tab page in transaction PPOME
Hi,
I have added one custom tab page in the tcode PPOME.
I created one custom infotype 9988 and followed the steps given in
IMG .
I can see the tab page in PPOME but when i click on the tab page, the tab
page contains a message as NO SUBSCREEN FOUND.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

have you created the custom infotype correctly and activated it correctly
see the steps and do it again and see
Steps to create a HR Infotype:
1) Go to Transaction PM01.
2) Enter the custom Infotype number which you want to create (Should be a 4 digit number, start with 9).
3) Select the 'Employee Infotype' radio button.
4) Select the 'PS Structure Infotype'.
5) Click on Create... A separate table maintenance window appears...
6) Create a PS structure with all the fields you want on the Infotype
7) Save and Activate the PS structure
8) Go back to the initial screen of PM01.
9) Click on 'All' push button. It takes a few moments.
10) Click on 'Technical Characteristics'. Infotype list screen appears
11) Click on 'Change'(pencil) button
12) Select your Infotype and click on 'Detail' (magnifying glass) button
13) Give 'T591A' as subtype table
14) Give 'T591S' as subtype txt tab
15) Give your subtype field as subtype field
16) Save and come back to PM01 initial screen
17) Click on 'Infotype Characteristics' ... Infotype list screen appears
18) Click on 'Change' (pencil) button
19) Click on 'New Entries'
20) Enter your Infotype number and short text
21) Here we have to set different Infotype Characteristics as per the requirement. (Better open another session with some standard Infotype's infotype characteristics screen and use as the reference to fill yours)
22) Save your entries.
23) Now the Infotype is created and ready to use.
24) If you want to change the layout of the Infotype as per your requirement...
25) In the PM01 initial screen...Select 'Screen' radio button and give 2000 as the screen name, then click on edit.
26) In the next screen.. Select 'Layout Editor' and click 'Change'.
27) Screen default layout appears...here you can design/modify the screen..change the attributes of the fields..etc.
28) Save and activate. (Don't forget to 'Activate at every level)
Subtype Creation :
Transaction PM01 Goto Subtype Characteristics. Click on Append and then subtype. Enter the name and description of subtype on screen.
Then goto technical Characteristics and maintain the details of subtype there. I.e name of subtype i.e. component name defined in PSnnnn. Subtype table is T591A.
Subty.text tab is T591S and time const tab is T591A.

In tcode PPOME (Organization and Staffing Change) the user cannot view any objects. The prompt "No Objects Found" is shown. Active plan is set and the correct roles are assigned.

- Check the begin dates in HRP1000
If available..
- Go to PPOME -> settings -> Date and forecast period
Start date 01.01.1800
End date 31.12.9999

I am new to SAP HR. I am trying to assign a person for a position in tcode PPOME. After that I could not see Pers No,Name,EE group,EE subgroup,Pers area details are not appear in Basic data tab. But for other persons which are all exist already in system ,I can see pers no,name,EE group,EE subgroup,pers area details. Could you advice what will be the issue?. Thnak you.

1. Plogi Orga value is 'X'.
2.I create person in PA with pers area ,ee group,ee sub group details and i can see all these details in PA0001 table. I did not create pers area, ee group ,ee subgroup for position ids. I wanted to see those pers area,ee group,ee subgroup detail, from pa0001, in PPOME under basic data tab.
3.Whether I assign position id to a person in PA40 or assign a person in PPOME to a newly created position id,in both cases I can see details are updated in both PA0001 and HRP1001 tables correctly.
4.I also tried to assing a position id to a person in PA40 and then through PPOME i tried to assign new position id for that same person. Then I can see new position id got replaced in PA40 properly.
But when I double click on person in PPOME, I could not see pers no,name ,ee group,ee subgroup,pers area under basic data tab..Pls let me know how to proceed further..

PPOME - taking away transport request

I was hoping someone with PPOME / workflow knowledge could help me here... Currently, are company locks down the transaction code PPOME, meaning you have to submit a transport request any time making a change to the struture, when a user...
THe way we have it setup is we have an organization unit at the highest level, followed by a position, and then a user assigned to the position.
What we would like to do is anytime we want to change a user (add/remove from a position), we would like for it to NOT ask for a transport request, but anytime some tries to change a position or organization unit, it does...

I assume you can find a test environment where you can change table T77S0 Group TRSP Sem.abbr. CORR value to X that should stop transport request window popping up when saving data in PPOME.
Then to demonstrate how we can control PPOME access using authorisations I would create a test user (SU01) and test role (PFCG).
In PFCG assign tcodes PPOME, PPOSE and SU53 to the test role. Since you have tcode PPOSE assigned it will bring authorisation object PLOG with required display values (PLOG: 1000, 1001 | * | C, O, P, S, T, US | 01 | DISP, LISD | * ).
Then you need to change the maintenance PLOG value to limit access to create relationships between S and US and specifically relationships A008 and B008. Some background for PLOG object fields:
Infotype and object type concept in HR works like object model. Infotype 1000 holds the name of the object. There are numerous different object types but PPOME displays mainly Jobs (C), organisational units (O), positions (S), persons (P), tasks (T) and users (US).
Infotype 1001 hold the relationship information between objects. When you assign user to a position you actually create a relationship (intoype 1001) between objects S and US. Relationships have different codes to describe the relationsip. In infotype 1001 the code is a subtype of the relationship. You can see all available values per infotype from table T778U.
So our second PLOG object should have authorisation to create infotype 1001 for object type S with subtype A008 and since relationships need to be created both ways I also need authorisation to create infotype 1001 for object type US with subtype B008. (PLOG: 1001 | * | S, US | 01 | * | A008, B008). If you want to restrict more specifically who can create and delimit relationships you can use different function codes (INSE, CUTI etc).
Play around and eventually HR object type and infotype concept is very straight forward. It's so different to other modules of SAP that it may first look bit weird...

Hello experts, in tcode PPOME i select a position and then i go thru menu GOTO->Detail Object ->Enchanced object description... the system return this message... No data found for the values entered...someone know what this mean and the solution for solving this... i normal way this path give acess to tcode PP01

This almost sounds like you have a position relationship in the system to a position that has somehow been deleted.
Can you check if youc an get to this position via PP01 directly?

1. tcode PPOME
2. select the position by double click
in the overview position, chief position will be differentiate by symbol a person with red clothes and wearing a hat
in the tab "Basic Data", chief position can be defined if the "Head of own organizational unit" is being ticked/flagged.
Head of Organizational Unit
If you flag this field, the position becomes the chief position of the organizational unit that it belongs to. When this position is displayed again, it is automatically flagged and is automatically the chief position.
Technically, a relationship (A/B 012) is created between the organizational unit and the position.
Field Name : OMLEADER
Data Element: HROMLEADER
