TCP/IP Configuration on N97

I need to configure static IP for Connecting to WLAN on Nokia N97,could anyone advice how do i configure this?

Hi!
I think I have the same problem... I can't access WiFi connection in open WLANs, I just can connect to WLAN via DHCP... But this problem appeared after first attempt to connect via DHCP. Before there were no problems to connect to open WLANs... I really don't want hard reset of my phone...
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

  • Modbus TCP/IP configuration steps

    Hi everybody.
I have an application where I have to connect a robot with a NI CVS1455. Both, robot controller and NI CVS support Modbus TCP/IP communication protocol, so, I want to configure robot like “Modbus master” node and compact vision system like “Modbus slave” node.
I have downloaded the NI Modbus library (I’m using LabView 8.2) and I’m trying to understand how Modbus communication works with NI products using my computer (instead the robot controller) and CVS. To do that:
    - First, I have configured in “VI Server:configuration” the right TCP/IP address and, then, the port as 502
    - I have enabled the access for both, computer and CVS, in “VI Server:access list”
    - I have deployed the Modbus slave program (VI) in CVS
At the moment when I start the Modbus master program (VI) in my computer I receive first “error 66” and then “error 62” .
I have already tryied to use “TCP Communicator Active and Passive Vis” and the communication is ok.
I think, I’m making some mistake in Modbus configuration. I didn’t find NI Manuals that explain step by step how to configure the different panels for Modbus TCP/IP communication, moreover, the Modbus functions don’t have the context help.
    So, my questions are:
    a) Can someone, experienced in Modbus, give some advice about my problem?
    b) There is a manual or an “application note” about the “configuration steps”?
    c) Can I use “shared variables” in a “NI Modbus slave” device even if the “Modbus master” isn’t a NI device?
    Thank you in advance.

Modbus is used to read and write registers in slave devices. The master in your simulation should be the device reading and writing the registers, so if the CVS is supposed to read data from the robot, you need to reverse what you're doing.
In general, Modbus has nothing to do with the VI server. You can change the VI server settings back to their original values (port 3363).
The NI Modbus library has two example VIs - one for the slave device and one for the master. If you want to simulate this, you need to run those examples in their respective locations and give the master example the IP address of the slave.
Of course, in any case you need to know which registers you're going to read and write, but those are device specific.
Try to take over the world!

  • TCP/IP Configuration

I was having a problem with one of my new SUN Solaris 8 boxes so I installed the box without networking. I'm now trying to install the networking and thought I could use "sys-unconfig" to remove any networking and then on the reboot I thought it would prompt me to enter the networking information. When I ran the tool and rebooted it just came up normal without prompting me.
What can I run to configure the networking at this point?
    Thanks
    Eric

What can I run to configure the networking at this
    point?
    Thanks
EricHello Eric, i usually runs the "sys-unconfig" and it's run
ok, but if you want to do manually you should do :
    - create /etc/nodename and put into machine's name
-create /etc/hostname.hme0 ( f.ex if you have a driver hme for
ethernet; if you have eri driver you will be able to put hostname.eri0 ...)
in this file you put into machine's name , f.ex machine1 and this
    name appears in /etc/inet/hosts ( f.ex: 192.168.0.24 machine1 )
    - create the file /etc/defaultrouter to send a packets goes away from
your LAN, and put into the ip of your gateway .
    - Now you should configure your interface :
    ifconfig hme0 plumb
    ifconfig hme0 192.168.0.24 up
( if you want default netmask )
and at this moment you should add the default static route for to
    navegate...
    route add -net default your_ip_gateway
And then you already have configured your machine to be added
    to a network .

  • ERROR: TCP Locator (Configuring the caching loactors) ERROR

    Hi All,
I am attempting to deploy LiveCycle ES to a WebLogic cluster which
reside on 64bit servers. Before I can run the configuration manager,
there is a step to run a batch file (startlocator.bat) in order to
    configure the caching locators.
This batch file errors out with the following message:
"ERROR: operation "start-locator" failed because: Start of locator
    failed. The end of "F:\Adobe\LiveCycle8.2\lib\caching\locator.log"
    contained this message: "".
I checked the log and just like the above error message mentioned,
there was nothing written into the log. Please help. How can I get
this working, or better yet, how important is this step?
PS. This step is located on pg. 27 of the "Configuring LiveCycle ES

    Hi Jonathan,
Could you please provide your OS details- Windows/Unix?
If it is any unix flavor system, please execute dos2unix command on startlocator.sh and run it again.

  • Coherence *Extend-TCP configuration not working

    Hi,
I was trying to setup the Coherence *Extend-TCP configuration on my solaris box.
To start with, i'm trying to start a Cache server instance by using the cluster-side configuration XML (given at URL below)

    Sorry,
I noticed that the above error occurs for version 3.1.1 (& not for 3.2) as previously
specified in previous message (above). My apologies.
As a follow-up, i've now installed 3.2 jars on my environment & i noticed that the
above error doesnt occur for this version. The cache server seems to be coming
up fine now (with the appropriate TCP/IP configuration tag in the xml).
But when i try to run my client application (which attempts to connect to this
remote cache server), it throws an InvocationTargetException error (full exception
         below).
The error indicates that i'm missing some elements in the XML configuration.

  • Configure apps in N97 to use WLAN

I have N97 Mini..  I can use WLAN to browse the web..
I want to know, whether I can configure my "N97 Mini" to use WLAN for any Data usage and not the 3G/GPRS network?  I want any application accessing the data network to use WLAN instead of 3G/GPRS.
Let me know how to do it..
    Thanks in advance..
    Regards,
    Denis

In connectivity settings in destinations set your wifi to priority 1 , also in application manager, installed apps , if you tap an application and reject options - suite settings (if it has suite settings ,not all do) you can set a default access point . Also in connectivity you can set phone to ' Always Ask ' before connecting to the internet !
If I have helped at all, a click on the White Star is always appreciated :

  • How to Configure Remote Connections To SQL Server 2008 R2 Express

Post written June 10, 2010 and pertains to:
SQL Server 2008 R2 Express on both my server and local machines: SQLX_SRV,
    SQLX_LOC
SQL Server 2008 R2 Management Studio on both my server and local machines:
    MS_SRV, MS_LOC
Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise installed on a Hyper-V VPS: WS
SQL Server Configuration Manager on both my server and local machines:
    CMGR_SRV, CMGR_LOC
    Server Manager: SMGR
I am connecting to my hosting server via Remote Desktop Connection: RDC
I installed SQLX_SRV and MS_SRV on my hosting server and SQLX_LOC and MS_LOC on my local development machine.  I am able to use MS_LOC to connect to SQLX_LOC and to use MS_SRV to connect to SQLX_SRV.  However I am not able to use MS_LOC to connect
with SQLX_SRV.  Here's what I have done so far:
SMGR -> Configuration -> Windows Firewall to turn off the Windows Firewall for Domain, Private and Public profiles.  Obviously I'll change this later, but until I can connect I want to remove as many variables as possible.
CMGR_SRV -> SQL Server Services to confirm that both SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) and SQL Server Browser services were running.
CMGR_SRV -> SQL Server Network Configuration -> Protocols for SQLEXPRESS to ENABLE the Shared Memory, Named Pipes, and TCP/IP protocols and DISABLE the deprecated VIA protocol.
CMGR_SRV -> SQL Server Network Configuration -> Protocols for SQLEXPRESS -> double click TCP/IP to open the TCP/IP properties dialogue.  On the Protocol tab Enabled: Yes, Keep Alive: 30000, changed Listen All to No.  I've tried it both
ways, but I've got six IP addresses on my server and I wanted to configure SQLEXPRESS to listen to only the first and primary IP.  On the IP Addresses tab went to IPALL and cleared the TCP Dynamic Ports field and entered 1433 in the TCP Port field.
For my first and primary IP Address I made sure that Enabled was Yes, I cleared the TCP Dynamic Ports field, and entered 1433 in the TCP Port field.  For all other IP Addresses Enabled was set to No and I cleared both the TCP Dynamic Ports and TCP Port
    fields.
CMGR_SRV -> SQL Server Services -> SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) right click and Restart.  This of course stopped and restarted my instance of SQLX_SRV enabling the TCP/IP configuration in the previous step to take effect.
On my server, SQLX_SRV is the only instance of SQL Server running and so it's easy to hard wire it to the default port 1433.
The instance name for both SQLX_SRV and SQLX_LOC is the default "SQLEXPRESS".  My server machine name is "SERVER1" on the EnglishBrains.com domain.  So the proper local name (local within the context of my remote server as connected via RDC) for
my instance of SQLX_SRV would be:
    SERVER1\SQLEXPRESS
Note the use of a backslash NOT a forward slash.
Of course to connect remotely from my development machine, which is not on the same domain as my hosting server, I would need to specify the domain as well, so the SQL Server name becomes:
    SERVER1.EnglishBrains.com\SQLEXPRESS
I must also use SQL Server Authentication.  Before I can use such a remote connection, however, there are still several configuration steps required.  So on my server (connected via RDC) I used MS_SRV to connect to SQLX_SRV using SERVER1\SQLEXPRESS
for the server name and Windows Authentication.  Once connected I performed the following steps:
MS_SRV -> right click the connected parent SERVER1\SQLEXPRESS instance node at the top -> Properties -> Security -> Server authentication: select "SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode".  This will enable connections using either type
    of authentication.
Next, leaving the Server Properties dialogue open, Connections -> check "Allow remote connections to this server" box.
Click OK to save these changes and close the Server Properties dialogue.
MS_SRV -> Security -> right click Logins and select "New Login...", the Login - New dialogue opens.
On the General page Enter a name for your new login
    Select SQL Server Authorization
    Enter and confirm a password
    Uncheck Enforce password expiration
Select the default Database and Language
On the ServerRoles page Public will be checked, also check SysAdmin.  This is probably not a good idea and I'll uncheck this as soon as I can connect to the SQLX_SRV.
On the User Mapping page select the databases you want your new Login to access and enter the Default Schema of "dbo".
At the bottom of the User Mapping page you'll see the Database Roles table.  Public will be selected by default.  Also select db_Owner.  Again this is probably not a good idea, and I'll refine this once I can connect.
On the Status page confirm that "Grant" is checked under "Permission to connect to database engine" and "Enable" is checked under "Login".
Click OK to save all changes and close the Login - New dialogue.
With these steps completed you should now be able to use MS_SRV to connect to SQLX_SRV using SQL Server Authentication by supplying the name and password for your new Login.  I tried this and it worked fine.  Next I tried to use this same login
remotely, that is I went to my local development machine and used MS_LOC to try and connect to SQLX_SRV by using
    SERVER1.EnglishBrains.com\SQLEXPRESS
and opting for SQL Server Authentication and supplying the name and password of my new login.
THIS DID NOT WORK??  Instead I get the following error message:
    Cannot connect to SERVER1.EnglishBrains.com\SQLEXPRESS.
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider:

    For help, click:
    http://www.microsoft.com/products/ee/transform.aspx?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&EvtSrc=MSSQLServer&EvtID=-1
If you follow the suggested help link, you are told:
The SQL Server client cannot connect to the server.  This error could be caused by one of the following reasons:
A specified SQL Server instance name is not valid.
The TCP, or named pipes protocols are not enabled.
The firewall on the server has refused the connection.
The SQL Server Browser service (sqlbrowser) is not started.
WRONG on all 4 counts!  The instance name IS valid.  Both TCP/IP and Named Pipes protocols are enabled.  The firewall has been shut down, so it is not relevant.  Finally the SQL Server Browser IS started.
The next thing I tried was to circumvent discovery by the SQL Browser service by using the following syntax to specify the IP address and port directly when specifying the SQL Server name.
    tcp:68.71.134.186,1433
Using this in the Server Name field I was able to use MS_SRV to successfully connect to SQLX_SRV (using SQL Server Authentication of course) with or without the SQL Browser service running.
However when I tried to connect from MS_LOC to SQLX_SRV using this same login (WITH SQL Browser service running just for good measure) it does not work??  I get the following error message:
    Cannot connect to tcp:68.71.134.186,1433.
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider:
TCP Provider, error: 0 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 10060)
    For help, click:
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&EvtSrc=MSSQLServer&EvtID=10060&LinkId=20476
If you follow the help link you are told:
"The SQL Server client cannot connect to the server. This error could occur because either the firewall on the server has refused the connection or the server is not configured to accept remote connections."
However, the firewall has been shut down and the server HAS been configured to accept remote connections!
I confirmed that i could indeed Ping to 68.71.134.186  and running NetStat -a |find /i "listening" on the server shows that the server is indeed listening at 68.71.134.186 Port 1433 -- which is why I was able to connect to SQLX_SRV using MS_SRV with
    tcp:68.71.134.186,1433 .
IN SUMMARY: Even though I can connect to my SQLEXPRESS instance multiple ways from the server itself, I cannot connect remotely from my development machine!
If anyone can help me figure out why I would be very, very grateful!

My two cents to help you out on c# code example to configure the remote sql server express.
Hope it helps. It works, but you have to be extra carefull to read it all and setup the server configuration and netsh commands; also the port fowarding on the router.

    // --> Log On -> Start -> Ok

  • TCP/IP properties

I have a questions about TCP/IP configurations for SQL server 2008R2.  We have several instances on one machine (same IP) and some of the instances have the IP1 (under the IP addresses tab) enabled set to yes and have dynamic port values of 0 because
we are using dynamic ports.  Should this "enabled" be set to yes on all the instances because we are using a static IP address for the server?
We are not having any connection issues, I was just wondering what is the best practice on the TCP/IP settings.
    Thanks.

  • Hyper-V Replication - Subnet Configuration Between Datacenters?

I'm designing a DR solution in a geographically separate datacenter which will use Hyper-V 2012 R2 Replication to replicate several of our VMs to another Hyper-V cluster. The VMs will run a mix of Linux and Windows, with the Windows servers being Exchange,
    SharePoint, WSUS, etc.
I currently have a static IP assigned to all servers and VMs, i.e. I'm not using static DHCP reservations.
I have the ability to extend the private LAN subnet (let's call it 192.168.1.1) between the two datacenters over the public Internet using my firewall's VPN capability, but I'm wondering if there is a recommended best/better practice for this?
Is it okay to extend the subnet so in a fail-over scenario I can just power the VMs on in the DR datacenter without much manual intervention? Or would it be a better idea to configure my servers with a static DHCP reservation, so when they come up in the
DR datacenter they can pull an IP on a unique subnet?

    Hello Matt,
The answer is yes for Hyper-V 2012 R2, however this feature was available only for Windows Guest OS'es in Hyper-V 2012.
This works only on synthetic network adapters, not legacy network adapters, and it requires Windows XP SP2/Windows Server 2003 SP2 and newer OS'es to be running on the virtual machine to work. This
also works with Linux virtual machines that are running the latest Linux distributions.
As a good practice is to complete the failover TCP/IP configuration on the primary virtual machine with its normal IP configuration. In that way, if the replica is ever activated, replication is
reversed, and the virtual machine is then failed back to what was the primary, and the correct IP address for the primary location can automatically be put back.
    Hope this help.

This is incredible. We are running Hyper-V 2012 R2 with the latest CentOS 6.5 and synthetic network adapters. Thank you so much.
Oh, hey! I read your blog! :)

  • CUSP changing transport to TCP from UDP in VIA headers

How does CUSP decide when to use TCP vs UDP when forwarding INVITES to CUCM when both UDP and TCP are configured on the Network Listen Ports?  We have two different calls flows coming from our SBC to CUSP.  Both INVITES have UDP as the transport.  CUSP forwards one call flow to CUCM with TCP as the transport and the other as UDP. Is there something unique to the first INVITE below that would signal CUSP to use TCP?

Hi. Did you ever find out the reason and a solution to this problem. I am having the same issue where CUSP decides to change the transport type to TCP (from UDP) when talking to CUCM on certain invites from Acme SBC. On some invites from the same Acme SBC, CUSP doesn't change the transport type and leaves it as UDP.
    Thank you.

  • Airport card not picking up any signals after IP configuration changed

Just had cable internet installed in my apartment, and in the course of setting up the IP configuration for the built-in ethernet connection, my airport card has stopped recognizing wireless networks in my building. Before I changed these settings, the card was working, and there are several networks in the building that it recognized. Now, it recognizes none. The menu appears in the top bar, and I can turn the airport on and off, but it simply is not picking up any signals whatsoever.
I have tried a handful of tactics, including changing the Airport TCP/IP configuration in several different ways, rebooting several times, and even removing and reinserting the Airport card.
For info: I'm using an iBook G3 with OS 10.2.8. (I know, pretty old, but it's still chugging along...)
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure. What's strange is that the very same computer was picking up signals (not accessing them b/c they were all password protected), recognizing networks in the area at least, before I played with the other IP configuration settings. Now it picks up none. It shows that there are none in the area, even though I know that there are.
Also, often, when I click on the Airport icon in the menu bar, the computer hangs for up to a minute before the menu actually pops up.
I have an Airport Express unit that I have hooked up to the cable modem, and my Airport card won't even recognize that signal. I'm just not sure what I changed that made it go haywire. I've been using this computer on wireless networks for the entire time I've owned it. Never had this problem before yesterday.
Thanks for any additional suggestions anyone can offer.
