  • How do I locate the dial up button on my IPad Air

With IPad Air, how do I locate the dial up  screen? To make call with my three. (3)

You are mistaking a capability to connect to a cell data network (for connection to the Internet) with the ability to make phone calls. As stedman has said, the iPad is not a phone and cannot make phone calls directly. You would need to use one of the voice-over-IP solutions such as Viber, which Diavonex mentioned below, or Skype.

  • Z30 - keeping the dial pad "lit" when in a call

I have been struggling with the lack of a physical keyboard and trackpad since being upgraded to the z30.  I've discovered a related problem with the touch screen dial pad.  What am I missing?
I placed a call that was answered with an automated reception.  It required me to press certain numbers and spell names to get my call directed to the right place.  However, the screen kept "blanking out" during the call.  Is there a setting that will allow me to keep the screen "lit" whenever I am on a call?
For example, it would say "press pound", so I would pull the phone away from my head, and look at the phone and it was unlit.  I would touch the screen (sometimes multiple times) until it would light.  Then I would press pound, but by the time I had done this, the window to do so with the automated reception had timed out.  So the automated call system would repeat the question, by which time the screen would have blacked out again.  Each time I had to "recussitate" the screen before I could press whatever command was required by the automated call system.  Often it took too long to get the screen lit again and I had to be re-prompted.  It was quite frustrating for something that used to be so simple with a physical keyboard.

I think you are mistaken.  My screen time-out is set for 5 minutes.
The time-out of the dial-pad screen appears to be instantaneous, once the call is placed.
i just tried it on mine with a call and it went off in 30 seconds, then set to one minute and it timed out in one minute

  • Speed dial

    Hi,
After the last Ios update, the apps that work with
    Speed dial, stopped working properly.
I have "faces lite" app, for speed dial, and it doesn't
Allow to edit contact details or to add a new contact.
    The app just shuts down.
I thought that this is app problem and tried to download another.
I downloaded two different apps, but it has the same issue.
When I tried to add a contact the app shuts down.
Tried this on iphone 5 and 5s.
Does anybody have the same problem?

Yes I have the same problem.  All apps that create 1-touch dial Home Screen icons that I've tested now fail under iOS7.

  • Odd speed dial setup issue

I am getting an odd speed dial setup issue.  Here are the steps:
    1. Open speed dial setup screen
    2. Tap an open slot
    3. Search for a contact using the keyboard
    4. Click on the contact to select it
If I do it that way, I am taken back to the speed dial setup screen, but the contact is NOT added to the slot.
On the other hand, if in step #3, I just scroll down the list of contacts and select a contact, it works just fine.  Seems to be an issue with the search function.  Anyone else have this problem?

The steps that you are taking correct for setting up the speed dial. I have provided a link for additional information.

  • Dialog Screen on Preview Button of ME21N

How to Call Dial Dialog Screen on Print Preview Button in Transaction ME21N?

    Hello,
I am really not very sure if you can give another dialog box to take the user entry for Print out or Adobe output.
I had rather suggest you to implement the header badi to create a customer screen and then in that give a radio button option in which the user would select the type of output required.
This would considerably reduce your time and make your work easier.
Please revert if you are unclear with this.

  • Need 2x click or confirmation screen for calling / texting

This is a call out to Apple to implement double click for calling / texting - or at least offer a confirmation screen when dialing from screens like 'favorites' or 'recents'
I can not tell you how many times I have initiated calls erroneously when attempting to scroll (or I've called the wrong number because I didn't hit the correct contact on first touch), and how many times I have inadvertently hit send on text messages before I was ready, simply because I was trying to type 'o', 'u' or 'p', or my finger just touched the screen in the wrong place.
The phone is all screen and it's really difficult not to touch it. The issue is that just touching the screen often initiates an unintended call or other action, especially if trying to operate the phone with one hand or while in motion.
Please chime in here to let Apple know that this is an issue that needs to be addressed. I know many of you are having the same usability issues. Let Apple know by responding to this post with your stories of frustration.
    Thanks,

If apple would add that feature there would be allot more users requesting it taken off than the users that would actualy want it so I am sure that they would not want to add features just for a select few customers
There are to many taps allready up the point when you place a call, why add more
There is an easy fix for your problem: be carefull when you tap on your screen

  • Blackberry Curve alarm does not go off because voice dialing is trying to connect

Someone please help me.  I have set my alarm with a custom ring tone and escalating, but it has not worked the last three days, where it had for the previous two weeks.  I have not changed any settings, so I am not sure what could have possibly happened.  Each day I wake up, thank God I have a backup alarm clock, and check my phone in the other room on the charger.  It is stuck on the voice dialing activation screen, which is very odd because I have voice dialing disabled.  Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong and how to fix it?  I would much rather wake up to the ring tone that I have chosen as opposed to a regular (and obnoxious) alarm clock.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

It sounds like a software fault.
You need to download the latest version for your device from the carrier the phone was sold with.
Save the folder to your desktop, double click it to install it your computer. (can take 40 mins to download)
Then you connect up the blackberry and using the program called application loader,(which is built into the desktop manager program that came on the cd) push the new software to the device. Ensure when you see an 'advanced' box, you click into it, to check both check boxes to remove all current installed software.
Here is a list of software carrier sites:

    And Also
Use BlackBerry Application Loader to install BlackBerry Device Software
Good Luck and let us know how you go..
9/10 times this is a software fault.
If your issue is resolved, put a checkmark in the green box that contains the resolution.

  • Speed Dialing

The "speed dial" is not user friendly. You must open the keyboard and press an hold a "key". The Instinct phone had the keys on the screen, so you could quickly push the proper keys without a tiny keyboard. A single button on the bottom of the key pad display brings a "speed dial AZ screen", so you could touch the "A" or whatever key you assigned and then be dialing in two strokes and no keyboard.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

I have the same problem with speed dialing.  Most of the time I dial by pressing and holding one of the on-screen keypad buttons.  I also have about a 50% success rate.  On many occasions I try and try and cannot get the speed dial to trigger.  Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is this a bug?  It is extremely frustrating.
By the way, I have found the same to be true of the hard keyboard.  Holding down a key does not always trigger the associated speed dial.  Maybe it depends on phase of the moon or the relative humidity.  Annoying.

  • Defining a port range to be opened for firewall settings within group policy

We have a Windows 2008 server and almost all Win7 workstations (still have a couple of XP machines in production). We also have a server that uses ports anywhere from TCP/3000-3250, but defining "Windows Firewall: Defining inbound port exceptions Properties"
as "3000-3250:TCP:*:enabled:dialer" doesn't seem to work. I presume the port number cannot be a range as the description calls this parameter a decimal port number.
I've looked around on google and found various recommendations, including creating scripts. Can someone please provide input on the quickest way to accomplish this? Thanks

    > my post - there aren't a "couple" of XP machines, but about 10-12), and
    Ah, oops :)
Then you need a batch and some knowledge about "netsh firewall" in
    combination with "for /l %%c in (3000,1,3250)"
Or simply deploy the appropriate registry values - but this also needs a
    script.

  • Possible iPhone patch needed?

Re: Automated phone systems and canceling Caller ID.
    This is the sequence.
First entered * 67 (cancels caller id)
Next entered toll free 800 number.
Automated voice prompt system clicks in on the phone line.
Recorded menu Prompts to enter 1 for "english"
Pressed the keyboard button on the display to rotate numbers forward to dial.
Screen would not "flip" to reveal the keys to press. Pressing button had no result.
    Had to hang up.
Try it and see if you can duplicate.

Dialing *67 before any phone number you dial will block your phone number from who you are calling.
Unfortunately you need to do that every time you dial a number if your are trying to block your number. From the iPhone the person called will see the word "PRIVATE".
From a regular desk phone, the person called sees the word "BLOCKED".
I personally like the use of "PRIVATE"
If you want your number permanently blocked you need to call AT&T for the iPhone and they will remove your name from the data transmitted.
I had my first name changed from what was being transmitted but I did not block a name from being transmitted.
It may take several hours to accomplish after the AT&T CSR makes the change because doing this requires that a nationwide data base be changed.

  • Question About Receiving Calls

I thought I posted this today, but I can't find it. Why is it that when I receive a call, that as soon as I hang up the phone goes to my phone favorites?? Why does it do that? Why will it not go to my home screen where it was? I am missing a setting somewhere?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Not with my phone.
    1. Open Safari. While using Safari, call your phone from another line and answer the call. End the call, and the screen goes back to Safari.
    2. Open Phone app, select the dial pad, close Phone app with the home button and lock your phone. Call your phone from another line, answer it and end the call. The phone then relocks. Unlock the phone and it will open to the dial pad screen.
If your phone doesn't do this, do the usual troubleshooting steps as needed:
    1. Reset the phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
    2. Restore in iTunes from a backup
    3. Restore as a new iPhone.

  • Add prefix 9 for incoming calling number of missed call only.

    Dear,
I am wondering how to add the prefix 9 to incoming calling number of missed calls only, not the calling alerting number on the phone screen. For example, the local user 472 2001 calls our DID 482 3001 along with the calling number 472 2001 on the dialed phone screen, if I missed this call, in the directory missed call I can see 94722001.
I know I can add the prefix in the field incoming called party subscriber prefix on the gateway page, but when I do this, all of the calling number information show 9.
    Thanks,
    Kirin

If I understand you correctly, you would like to only change the missed calls/placed calls on your phones without changing the digits?
If you have an PRI, you can use this translation rule to change calling ID only on inbound calls:
Translation pattern to modify Caller ID to add a 9
    voice translation-rule 1
    Rule #  /match/ /set/
(^.= Match anything begining with any number)(*= one or more digits) tranlasate to (9& = Take whatever is in the match phase and plug it in here)
rule 1 /^.*/ /9&/ type subscriber subscriber (subscriber = ton(Ton=Type of number) value local area)
rule 2 /^.*/ /91&/ type national national (national = ton value long distance area)
rule 3 /^.*/ /9011&/ type international international (international = ton value international area)
    Config t
    voice translation-rule 1
    rule 1 /^.*/ /9&/ type subscriber subscriber
    rule 2 /^.*/ /91&/ type national national
    rule 3 /^.*/ /9011&/ type international international
    voice translation-profile INBOUND_PSTN
    translate calling 1
    voice-port X/X/X
    translation-profile incoming INBOUND_PSTN
Let me know if this helps.

It is the same thing when I turn off the firewall. It doesn't work on my Vista-PC but it works on my XP-PC. Is this a Vista related problem? What can I do to solve this?
