TCS 2.5 RH Problem

I just upgraded from TCS 2.0 to 2.5. When I try to open my RoboHelp projects, I get the following error:
"This project is from a newver version of the program. This project is no longer compatible with this version. Please make sure you have the newest version installed."
Has anyone else seen this?

RH8. We discovered the problem. Before I installed TCS 2.5, I uninstalled 2.0. However, I forgot to uninstall the patches. We followed the same procedures on a different system, but remembered to uninstall the patches. It works fine now. Thanks.

  • Activation problem of Acrobat in TCS 2.5

    Hi there experts,
    we have a fairly odd problem:
    On a new computer (Win 7, 64 bit) somebody first installed Acrobat 6 (yes - no mistake!) and later FM9. The installed separate FM9 version is a downgrade from FM10. I think it's using the FM10 installation engine and I think that's the reason why Acrobat 6 vanished from her computer, since we never had problems with FM9 and Acrobat 6 or 7 on the same machine before.
    She UNistalled the separate FM9 version and installed Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, Photoshop CS5 and FM9 from the TCS 2.5 package. - To make sure the activation of the package would work.
    =>
    FM9 works fine, Photoshop CS5 works fine, Acrobat 9 Pro Extended doesn't.
    Each time she tried to open Acriobat, she was told to open another software from the package to activate Acrobat. Then Acrobat closed down.
    Then, because of a chat with Adobe Support, we deleted the cache.db in Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache.
    Then she opened Photoshop again and had to enter the special PS serial again (is NOT the same serial as the one for the TCS). Photoshop openend, but, like before, she had no menu item letting her activate the package.
    Then she opened Acrobat and she had to enter a serial too, but none of the 3 serials of the package worked: The red "X" to the right of the serial remains and she cannot go on.
    No she's working on the 30 days trial version but we need a lasting solution. Adobe phone support refused to help, because the TCS is too old.
    Have you got any suggestions?
    If not, I will have to uninstall everything "Adobe" and crawl the registry trying to eliminate each and every occurrence of "Adobe" and their products. But actually there are more important tasks (like customer orders) to do for me then spending 1 or 2 days trying to repair Adobe's failure. And changing the registry is always fairly dangerous ...
    Thanx in advance for your effort!

    The install of the standalone FM9 probably clobbered your old Acrobat 6 due to the “headless” Acrobat tool that comes with standalone FM. Now you’re correct in having to wipe it all & reinstall. I’d use Revouninstaller to handle the clean-up – it’s quite good at dealing with residual Registry issues.

  • Framemaker TCS licensing problem

    i have a problem with frame 11&12, installed via TCS 4&5. every couple of days i have to re-enter the serial numbers. during the registration process of the serial numbers, the old application manager was in charge. the day after the initial installation, i had to install creative cloud and re-register the serials. this is quite annoying and i don't know what to do. last week i could not even start frame 11 anymore. i have posted the problem as well here. then, yesterday, i restored windows and performed a clean installation, again of frame 11&12, this time the standalone versions and registered them with the same TCS serials. everything worked fine - yesterday. today, application manager corrupt, upgrade to creative cloud, re-entering of serial numbers and bumm - frame 11 again out of order.
    has anyone had similiar problems? strangely, when i try to register the product(s) in my creative cloud account manually, the serials are not recognized.
    thanks
    chris.

  • TCS 5 Installation Problems-"Insufficient Disk Space"

    I've been subscribing to TCS 5 since May.  Recently, I upgraded to a newer MacBook Pro, and I've installed a copy of Windows 7 and I'm running it using VMWare Fusion 6.  Today, I finally downloaded the TCS 5 files from my profile.
    I ran into a problem when it came time to install the suite.  I tried continue the installer beyond the "pick a destination folder" step, but when I clicked the "Next" button, a pop-up appeared and said "Insufficient Disk Space," and it suggested increasing the disk size and trying again.  I increased the disk space of my virtual machine from around 60 GB to 128 GB.  I tried the installation again and no luck.
    Has anyone found a solution?  Do I need to increase my virtual machine's disk space further?  I can't seem to find anything that would allow for a workaround to this problem.  Any advice will be a big help to me, as I really want to start using these programs.

    I called tech support just now and he suggested that I try installing on my physical hard drive, rather than a virtual one.
    However, while running Boot Camp could work, I don't want to reboot my MacBook constantly to change between operating systems.  Also, now that I've used my Windows 7 product code once, I don't think I can reuse it.  I'd have to spend more money to obtain another copy of Windows 7.
    Could I download the files to another PC, install them there, and then put everything on a flash drive to take back to my virtual desktop and run the programs successfully?

    Hello Sir,
    This is Ravi and Saras this side.
    Remember?
    TCS.....SAP Training.....Lemon Tree...
    Ok.
    As far as ur question is concerned.....
    1. At selection-screen output
         loop at screen.....then make the 2nd button invisible by modifying the screen.
    2. At selection-screen
         Between an if endif condition check whether the 1st button has been clicked.
         If yes then again loop at screen and make the 2nd button visible.
    That will solve ur problem.
    Regards,
    Ravi and Saras

  • Problem running Tech Communication suite on 64-bit, Vista machine?

    I recently upgraded to Vista 64 bit system. I had problems installing Tech Communciation suite 1.0, which was running fine on 32-bit, XP machine.
    With great difficulty, I was finally able to install but now I am having problems in creating pdfs from Framemaker. Has anyone experienced this problem too?
    My colleague who is running Tech Suite 1.0 on 64-bit XP machine is having problem opening Robohelp 7 HTML. The RH Software Setup screen appears and asks for serial number of this product. When she enters the serial number, it does not recognize it.
    Please help?
    Thanks,
    Shoba

    Adobe does not officially support TCS 1 or 2 on the 64 bit platform.
    There have been some posts about this so it might be worth searching previous posts.

    It looks like your PermGen space is too small. Try modifying your opmn start parameters; use java option -XX:MaxPermSize to increase your PermGen space.

  • Cisco TCS "the overview for this server cannot be found"

    Hi,
    I have a problem on my TCS server, a message is displayed "The overview for this server can not be found"
    This error message appears when I last reinstalling the usb image provided by Cisco,
    Thank's
    Billel

    Hello Billel -
    I presume because you mention USB image, you're running a 3rd generation TCS appliance?
    Have you tried to repair the TCS application through Add/Remove Programs to see if that resolves the issue?  I've had that issue myself once on a 2nd Generation TCS appliance, I tried a repair and uninstall/reinstall of the TCS application, eventually managed to get it back up and running, though I don't recall my actual steps.
    Also just in case, because you did a reimage, did you back up the serial number, checksup, and release/option keys from the registry located in HKLM > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > TANDBERG > TCS.  If you're missing any of that, you can obtain release and options keys from Cisco License Portal, select "Get Other Licenses", then "TelePresence Licenses to Resend".  You can get the checksum by contact TAC.

  • Can't remove page # in XREF:  FM to RH XREF mapping doesn't work (known problem?)

    Hello,
    After a few hours of head-scratching (something tells me this will be common as I work out the kinks while learning RH), I ran into what I think may be a problem or bug in RH.
    My FrameMaker book includes a cross-reference format called "Heading" & page , which is defined as follows: <cross-ref>“<$paratext>” on page <$paranum[h1]><$pagenum>
    My FrameMaker book is linked to my Robohelp project.
    I tried mapping the cross-reference format in Robohelp to strip out the page number, so File > Project Settings > Edit Conversion Settings for FrameMaker documents > Cross-Reference, and I set the Robohelp Style to <$paratext>.
    I did an Update, then Generate, and the page number would just not go away in the generated output!
    I updated my FM book, recreated my RH project, re-did the linking, rebooted, defragged...I did whatever I could, to no avail.
    I then changed the name of my cross-reference format in FrameMaker from "Heading" & page to Heading & page, and kept the definition as it was.
    I remapped this new cross-reference format in RH, and did an update. At this point, the mapping worked and the page number was stripped from the output.
    Does this make sense?
    Although I have this workaround, why the limitation on the xref format name? I have quite a few formats with both quotation marks (" "), and I would like to avoid having to change them all.
    Has anyone else seen this?
    Thanks!
    Sue

    Hi Jeff,
    Correct. Stripping the quotes out of the cross reference format in FrameMaker before the conversion to <paratext> did not work. I still see the page numbers.
    The preview text did change.
    I am linking my Frame content into RH, as I am using this as a single source solution for user guides and online help.
    This problem arose immediately after upgrade from TCS 3 to TCS 4
    After trying multiple fixes, I am now having some really strange problems, so I am in the process of restoring a backup and starting from scratch.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you so much!

  • Problems with TCS3, Adobe Application Manager, and Acrobat X

    I have to deploy Technical Communications Suite 3 to a group of 20 people with a volume license key.  In order to avoid giving 20 people in the company a volume key, I'm using the Adobe Application Manager to build a distributable silent installer for this delivery.  The problem is that when you use the Adobe Application  Manager to create the build, Adobe Acrobat Professional X (which is part of the package) is not an installable option, nor is it actually installed as seen in the attached screenshot
    However, if I just launch the installer by double-clicking Set-up.exe from the downloaded media directory, I do get the option to add Acrobat X.
    Finally, if I drill into the installation media folder, "...\Adobe Technical Communication Suite 3\payloads\AcrobatProfessional10.0-EFG" there is a .msi which is for Acrobat X, but when launched, the product key I was provided for Technical Communications Suite 3 does not work.  The key works just fine to install the entire suite, but not Acrobat X by itself.
    Has anyone else had any luck creating a silent install for TCS3?  I called support and reproduced the problem for them, but they had no answer.
    Just for the record, I have found this exact same behavior with all the Adobe Suites which are supposed to get Acrobat.

    This is true that Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition currently does not support silently deploying Acrobat alongwith TCS3. However, you do not need a separate license key for Acrobat.
    Pls follow the below mentioned steps to silently install TCS 3 with Acrobat:
    1) Uninstall TCS3 (including Acrobat) from your machine, if already present. Make sure all products are uninstalled succesfully.
    2) Create a serialized package for TCS 3 using the AAMEE tool
    3) Run the silent installation command for TCS3
    4) Goto the Exceptions folder inside the TCS 3 package and open ExceptionInfo.txt. This has information of all the products that this package will not install. Look for the command to install Acrobat X Pro. For your reference, I am mentioning it here,
    msiexec.exe /i AcroPro.msi EULA_ACCEPT=NO REGISTRATION_SUPPRESS=YES SUITEMODE=1 TRANSFORMS=en_US.mst INSTALLLEVEL=101 AS_DISABLE_LEGACY_COLOR=1 IGNOREAAM=1 /qn
    5) Install Acrobat silently using this command
    6) Launch any product installed through TCS ( FrameMaker or RoboHelp) and verify that its activated (Help->Deactivate menu should be enabled)
    7) Now launch Acrobat. You will see that Acrobat automatically picks up TCS 3 license present in the machine and gets serialized. You do not need any other serial number.
    Hope that helps,
    Anchal

  • Problem when rows in tables conditionalized

    Hi all,
    I'm really *really* hoping someone can help me with this.
    I am using TCS 3, using FrameMaker integration to create Webhelp from my Frame source.
    I use conditional text.
    I set my conditions within FrameMaker and have Robohelp use the Frame conditional settings.
    My tables are not that complicated, but in some cases, I have an entire row conditioned so that it does not appear in one stream of my output (i stream across my product releases with the same source).
    I set my conditions properly in Frame but when I create the output, the Webhelp output has additional empty columns randomly placed at the right edge of my table (not across the entire table, either, just some rows show the extra empty columns). In one case, a row appears several rows below where it should have appeared.
    When I delete the conditional text altogether from the rows in the table, the output generates correctly; obviously, this is not a solution.
    Also of note: this problem only occurs if there are straddled rows or columns in the same table (even if the conditioned rows are not the ones that are straddled).
    Has anyone seen this? Any solutions?
    Thanks in advance.

    When working in RoboHelp you have to select the whole row rather than just the contents of the row when applying a tag.
    That is to simply avoid and empty row which is not quite what you are seeing. However, it may prompt you to apply your tags in Fm in a different way that does fix the problem.
    Jeff is your man on what to do in Fm.

  • Table Problems after Word Export from RH8

    I am running RoboHelp HTML 8 as part of Technical Communications Suite 2 on Windows XP Professional and exporting to Word 2007. This is a recent upgrade. Previously, I was just running RoboHelp 8 without TCS. All of the Adobe software is completely patched and up-to-date.
    The help system I am converting to Word is large and results in over 600 pages of Word content with a lot of tables (generally just for data presentation and not layout purposes). I'm also using build tags and single-sourcing this document to another, shorter document that is over 400 pages long.
    I have exported various documents from RoboHelp to Word many, many times before, and although I don't like the amount of reformatting I have to do, I'm used to the effort involved. However, the behavior seems to have changed recently.
    These days (possibly after the conversion to TCS?), after I export the help system to Word, all tables are set to have the text wrap around them (Table Properties | Table | Text wrapping | Around). Before, this setting always defaulted to no wrapping. I wouldn't mind this, because I could simply set the tables to have no wrapping, but even after I do so, the full functionality of tables is still not available to me. For example, I can't set to header row to repeat across pages (Layout ribbon | Repeat Header Rows). I also can't set rows to not break across pages (Table Properties | Row | Allow to break across pages). In fact, I can't select a single row of the table generally without selecting the entire table. My coworker found out that you can copy each table into Word Pad and then copy it back into Word as a workaround, but that is extremely tedious. We already waste a lot of time reformatting these documents for various other reasons.
    As a (probably irrelevant) footnote, I convert to .doc rather than .docx, because RoboHelp crashes when I export to .doc. I then save the .doc as a .docx file to conserve file size. The same problem exists in both file formats.
    Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

    Hi, Peter. Thank you for your thoughtful response.
    Yes, after exporting to Word, I couldn't set the tables' heading rows to repeat and couldn't select individual rows. Also, if I selected the entire table, normally Word would offer me the option to convert the table to text. However, Word seems to think that the table isn't a table, so instead it offers me the option to convert the text to a table. Good times. :-)
    I write the above in the past tense, however, because I discovered a solution. I found a table in the Word output that didn't have the problem, possibly the only one of its kind in the project. In RoboHelp, I compared the HTML source of that table to a table that did have the problem. I discovered that the problematic table had two HTML tags that the unproblematic table did not: <?rh-align_start align="left" ?> and <?rh-align_end ?>. I deleted the tags and presto! The problem was fixed for this table in the Word output. This worked for a couple of other bad tables as well, so I decided to do a global find and replace. Using Find and replace in files in RoboHelp, I replaced each of these tags with nothing (i.e., a null value, essentially deleting them). Searching for the entire string didn't detect all instances, so I searched again for "rh-align" only and found about 50 instances, which I manually corrected in the HTML source.
    So far, so good!
    I didn't try the options you suggested, but I was suspecting a template problem as well. Thank God it wasn't because I wasn't relishing the prospect of tracking that down.
    And yes! We tried your macros. Actually, the world-class tech writer Sue McKinney, who works with me, tried it, and she says it took three minutes to reformat the rows in the tables so they wouldn't break, which is a requirement of ours. We look forward to implementing the other table-related macro functionality you developed. Thanks for providing it for our use!

    4. Create a database link to the destination database :
    connect STRMADMIN/STRMADMIN@pocsrc
    CREATE DATABASE LINK POCDESTN connect to
    STRMADMIN identified by STRMADMIN using 'POCDESTN';
    Test the database link to be working properly by querying against the destination database.
    Eg : select * from global_name@POCDESTN;
    5. Create streams queue:
    BEGIN
    DBMS_STREAMS_ADM.SET_UP_QUEUE(
    queue_name => 'STREAMS_QUEUE',
    queue_table =>'STREAMS_QUEUE_TABLE',
    queue_user => 'STRMADMIN');
    END;
    6. Add capture rules for the table at the source database:
    BEGIN
    DBMS_STREAMS_ADM.ADD_TABLE_RULES(
    table_name => 'SCOTT.EMP',
    streams_type => 'CAPTURE',
    streams_name => 'STRMADMIN_CAPTURE',
    queue_name => 'STRMADMIN.STREAMS_QUEUE',
    include_dml => true,
    include_ddl => true,
    source_database => 'POCSRC');
    END;
    7. Add propagation rules for the table at the source database.
    This step will also create a propagation job to the destination database.
    BEGIN
    DBMS_STREAMS_ADM.ADD_TABLE_PROPAGATION_RULES(
    table_name => 'SCOTT.emp’,
    streams_name => 'STRMADMIN_PROPAGATE',
    source_queue_name => 'STRMADMIN.STREAMS_QUEUE',
    destination_queue_name => 'STRMADMIN.STREAMS_QUEUE@POCDESTN',
    include_dml => true,
    include_ddl => true,
    source_database => 'POCSRC');
    END;
    Section 4 - Export, import and instantiation of tables from Source to Destination Database
    1. If the objects are not present in the destination database, perform an export of the objects from the source database and import them into the destination database
    Export from the Source Database:
    Specify the OBJECT_CONSISTENT=Y clause on the export command.
    By doing this, an export is performed that is consistent for each individual object at a particular system change number (SCN).
    exp USERID=SYSTEM/POCSRC@POCSRC TABLES=SCOTT.TEST FILE=DEPT.dmp GRANTS=Y ROWS=Y LOG=exportDEPT.log OBJECT_CONSISTENT=Y INDEXES=Y STATISTICS = NONE
    Import into the Destination Database:
    Specify STREAMS_INSTANTIATION=Y clause in the import command.
    By doing this, the streams metadata is updated with the appropriate information in the destination database corresponding to the SCN that is recorded in the export file.
    imp USERID=SYSTEM/POCDESTN@POCDESTN FULL=Y CONSTRAINTS=Y FILE=DEPT.dmp IGNORE=Y GRANTS=Y ROWS=Y COMMIT=Y LOG=importDEPT.log STREAMS_INSTANTIATION=Y
    2. If the objects are already present in the desination database, check that they are also consistent at data level, otherwise the apply process may fail with error ORA-1403 when apply a DML on a not consistent row. There are 2 ways of instanitating the objects at the destination site.
    1. By means of Metadata-only export/import :
    Export from the Source Database by specifying ROWS=N
    exp USERID=SYSTEM/POCSRC@POCSRC TABLES=SCOTT.DEPT FILE=tables.dmp
    ROWS=N LOG=exportTables.log OBJECT_CONSISTENT=Y
    exp USERID=SYSTEM/POCSRC@POCSRC TABLES=SCOTT.EMP FILE=tables.dmp
    ROWS=N LOG=exportTables.log OBJECT_CONSISTENT=Y
    For Test table -
    exp USERID=SYSTEM/POCSRC@POCSRC TABLES=SCOTT.TEST FILE=tables.dmp
    ROWS=N LOG=exportTables.log OBJECT_CONSISTENT=Y
    Import into the destination database using IGNORE=Y
    imp USERID=SYSTEM/POCDESTN@POCDESTN FULL=Y FILE=tables.dmp IGNORE=Y
    LOG=importTables.log STREAMS_INSTANTIATION=Y
    2. By Manaually instantiating the objects
    Get the Instantiation SCN at the source database:
    connect STRMADMIN/STRMADMIN@POCSRC
    set serveroutput on
    DECLARE
    iscn NUMBER; -- Variable to hold instantiation SCN value
    BEGIN
    iscn := DBMS_FLASHBACK.GET_SYSTEM_CHANGE_NUMBER();
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ('Instantiation SCN is: ' || iscn);
    END;
    Instantiate the objects at the destination database with this SCN value.
    The SET_TABLE_INSTANTIATION_SCN procedure controls which LCRs for a table are to be applied by the apply process. If the commit SCN of an LCR from the source database is less than or equal to this instantiation SCN , then the apply process discards the LCR. Else, the apply process applies the LCR.
    connect STRMADMIN/STRMADMIN@POCDESTN
    BEGIN
    DBMS_APPLY_ADM.SET_TABLE_INSTANTIATION_SCN(
    source_object_name => 'SCOTT.DEPT',
    source_database_name => 'POCSRC',
    instantiation_scn => &iscn);
    END;
    connect STRMADMIN/STRMADMIN@POCDESTN
    BEGIN
    DBMS_APPLY_ADM.SET_TABLE_INSTANTIATION_SCN(
    source_object_name => 'SCOTT.EMP',
    source_database_name => 'POCSRC',
    instantiation_scn => &iscn);
    END;
    Enter value for iscn:
    <Provide the value of SCN that you got from the source database>
    Finally start the Capture Process:
    connect STRMADMIN/STRMADMIN@POCSRC
    BEGIN
    DBMS_CAPTURE_ADM.START_CAPTURE(capture_name => ‘STRMADMIN_CAPTURE');
    END;
    Please mail me [email protected]
    Thanks.
    Raghunath

    A) need to check that the table is effectively correctly instantied on both sites :
    did you checked that the table instantiation is done on both DB for both CAPTURE and Apply ?
    since it is multimaster you should see rows in system.logmnr_gtlo and system.lgomrn_gtcs :
    break on OWNERNAME on table_name on report
    col global_name format a25
    col OWNERNAME format a20
    select OWNERNAME, lvl0name table_name , start_scn,global_name,baseobj#, INTCOLS,PROPERTY
    from system.logmnrc_gtlo o, system.logmnrc_dbname_uid_map m where m.logmnr_uid=o.logmnr_uid order by 1,2;
    on each site you should see at least 2 rows per table with the object_id and init SCN for each site as they exists on each site. You may see also older variation of your objects as these 2 tables are usually never purged.
    B) we need to see what rules are produced from the setup you published and were they apply:
    please post the rules sets and the contents rules :
    SELECT a.RULE_SET_OWNER, a.RULE_SET_NAME, b.rule_owner||'.'|| b.rule_name rnol,b.RULE_SET_rule_COMMENT
    from dba_rule_sets a, dba_rule_set_rules b where
    --rule_set_eval_context_name not like 'AQ$%' and
    a.rule_set_owner = b.rule_set_owner (+)
    and a.rule_set_name = b.rule_set_name (+) order by RULE_SET_OWNER,b.rule_set_name, b.rule_owner,b.rule_name;
    select rule_owner,rule_name,substr(rule_condition,1,200) rc from dba_rules order by rule_owner,rule_name;
    after that we should see the subset rule appearing linked to a rules set

  • Problem with stored procedure in DB2

    Hi,
    Rigth now im havin a little problem trying to CALL a DB2 SP
    I have a DB2 SP, something like this:
    CREATE PROCEDURE ordenes.XXMOR_GuardaEncabezado
    in p_ORDID     INTEGER,
    in p_ADVID     CHAR     (6),
    in p_ACCTHDRID     CHAR     (6),
    in p_STNID     CHAR     (6),
    in p_ORDTYP     SMALLINT,
    in p_STRDT     varchar(10),
    in p_EDT     char(10),
    in p_MCONTID     CHAR     (16),
    in p_AGYESTNUM     CHAR     (20),
    IN p_PRDID1 CHAR(4),
    in p_RTCRD     CHAR     (6),
    in p_USRFLD1     CHAR     (6),
    in p_USRFL10     SMALLINT,
    in p_TOTSPTORD     INTEGER,
    in p_CMT char(136),
    in p_ROTID CHAR(20),
    in p_Aux1 varchar(15),
    in p_Aux2 varchar(15),
    in p_Aux3 varchar(15),
    in p_Aux4 varchar(15),
    in p_Aux5 varchar(15),
    out o_ORDID varchar(15)
    And i calling the SP from my AppModuleImpl java class like this:
    getDBTransaction().createStatement(0).getConnection().prepareCall("CALL ordenes.XXMOR_Ords(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)");
    i am using this convention to pass the parameters:
    Integer = setInt
    Smallint = setShort
    Char and Varchar = setString
    and getString for the output:
    But i only recibe this exception everytime i try to run the SP: java.sql.SQLException: Parameter type not valid.
    Can anyone help me ! ?
    Ty, regards from Mexico.

    I am using Stored procedure and that is working fine in Oracle
    This is my XI Request structure :

      </PROC_GET_ACTIVE_ESIIDS>
      </statement>
      </ns0:read_PROC_GET_ACTIVE_ESIIDS>
    This is oracle Stored procedure signature :
    PROCEDURE PROC_GET_ACTIVE_ESIIDS
    in_bmf_partner_id           IN   kss_activity_stg_curr_stat.BMF_PARTNER_ID%TYPE,
    in_esids                    IN   CLOB,
