We have configured TCS functionality as per SAP Note 1168591 .
We are not aware of  about the complete cycle steps to be followed in SAP for addressing the complete processing of TCS (ie right from TCS charging in the Invoice till the Certificate Issuing ) .

    Require Scenarion :-
    WBS --> Network --> Activity --> Material Po -->Budgeting --> Release budget -->PO creation --> AS01 --> GRN --> GI --> MIRO ->Activity Confirm --> WBS Techo --> WBS Closed.
At the time of GRN only item should be cpitalised.
can anybody explain is it possible? if not then why?
Please explain impact on PS module.
    Please do needful.
    Thanks & Regars,

    Hi,
I think you are talking about direct capital item procurement.
you can make statistical project for that; then the wbs will only be used for budget check and you don't have to settle also.
at the time of pr/po creation you can have wbs element field and asset field in account assignment tab (get with the help of MM consultant); all cost will got o asset and budget will be checked against wbse.

    Hi
    Follow the https://service.sap.com/instguides.

    Hi Suraj,
    Hope you are doing good.
Nice to hear from you again. It looks like P4 connection is affected:
    1)
Review note 1158626 and adjust the P4 port configuration accordingly. You will need to check whether the P4 port is available. Note 1925352 will help you to check this (you can use the sapcontrol command or others mentioned to check whether host: 172.16.35.110 and port: 50004 is available or not).
    2)
Make sure that there are no invalid profile files. Kindly move the profile files that are old to some other location.
    3)
Also, please verify that you don't have any non-deterministic names in the etc/hosts file, per SAP note:
1134222 - Cannot access AS Java via P4 connection
    Hope this helps.
    Kind Regards,
    Hemanth

  • Summary: Install (and re-install) steps of SAP NW 7.01 ABAP Trial

    This forum is awesome !
After ran into bunch of errors (200 601 etc) during install, thanks to all the Q&As especially posted answers in multiple thread discussions, I finally managed to make the install a success.
I put following summary here hoping to help anyone who is trying to install or re-install of NW 7.01 ABAP trial, please use it as a reference or preparation guide.
    - On an XP SP2 system (mine is a Dell laptop w/ 1G RAM), make 15G space on D: drive for final trial product (under D:\SAP), and 10G space on C: drive for downloading rar files and install process itself.
    - Download the SAPNW7.01ABAPTrial.part1.rar and SAPNW7.01ABAPTrial.part2.rar, put them both under C:\downloads\nw701, use 7zip to unzip SAPNW7.01ABAPTrial.part1.rar at the place, and you will have a new "SAPNW7.01ABAPTrial" folder with trial guide "start.htm" under it. C:\downloads\nw701\SAPNW7.01ABAPTrial is the <extract folder> referred by SAP.
    - Check against the list at <extract folder>/DOC/html/SystemRequirements.htm, make sure the system requirements are met.
    - If the system is behind a firewall and a router with DHCP (mine is behind a Linksys and it gets IP 192.168.1.100), you have a network install so continue to next step. (I also tried successfully with non-network install, using the loopback adapter setup and changing windows system32\drivers\etc\hosts file, as detailed in <extract folder>/DOC/html/loopback.htm. All other steps stay the same.)
    - Exclude entries in windows system32\drivers\etc\services files for the ports 3200, 3600 and 8000 (using # to comment out lines having these port numbers).
    - Pick a DB password for MaxDB, Say <syspwd>.
    - Open <extract folder>\RegCleanTool and double click RegistryClean.cmd, this is to stop and remove all (lingering) blocking services to make way for SAP and MaxDB.
    - [This step is for re-install] Drop existing MaxDB instance by : Control Panel > add/remove programs > change/remove programs > MaxDB > remove, then select "Remove MaxDB components".  When challenged by uid/pwd, user control/<syspwd>.
    - In Control Panel > Sys Admin > Services, search and find "Server" service (named "lanmanserver"), make sure it is automatic started with OS.  This service on XP enables named pipe and file sharing etc, which is critical for named pipe usage in the install (A Java Error error code = 200 STACK_TRACE: 15 at 96% install which I struggled with for days, as detailed in log file D:\SAP\NSP\home\steps.StopSCSInstance.log, was due to this disabled service).
    - If for whatever reason you still find MaxDB and SAP services in Control Panel > Sys Admin > Services at this step, you can use regedit and manually search and delete "sap" and "maxdb" entries -- I did this but CAUTION !!! do this as your own risk !!!
    - For the sake of cleanness, you may want to delete all existing JRE or JDK installed (I did this) because the trial has its own Java engine for install.
    - Open <extract_folder>\sapmmc, double click sapmmcX86u.msi to install SAP Management Console.
    - Delete \Program files\common files\InstallShield folder
    - [This step is for re-install] delete D:\SAP and D:\sapdb, where SAP NW and MaxDB reside
    - Reboot now
    - Open <extract folder>\image, double click setup.exe, and follow the instructions on screen to install MaxDB and SAP NW, where you need to specify d:\sap as install destination and <syspwd> as MaxDB password (its uid is "control").
    - Reboot again if install is successful. o.w. Check errors in D:\SAP\NSP\log.txt and log files in D:\SAP\NSP\home and D:\SAP\NSP\DVEBMGS00\work and search in this forum !
Hope this help your install !  Have fun !

Could be issues of network, db or OS services...
That's why I suggested to "Check errors in D:\SAP\NSP\log.txt and log files in D:\SAP\NSP\home and D:\SAP\NSP\DVEBMGS00\work and search in this forum" as the last step.
Did you see any error in either or all of those files?

  • Connection steps for SAP BW and R/3

    Hi Every Body,
Can you please explain me detail about the connectivity between R/3 and BW.
General steps which am aware is as follws;-
SAP R/3 steps to be performed
    1.     Define Logical system---->(e.g ABC100)
    2.     Assign client to logical system -->(100)
    3.     Define RFC Destination.(Here I assume I have to give Destination user name and password should be the user which have SAP_ALL authorization) Am I right.
    SAP BW Steps:-
    4.     Define Logical system---->(e.g ABC100)
    5.     Assign client to logical system -->(100)
    6.     Define RFC Destination.(Here I assume I have to give Destination user name and password should be the user which have SAP_ALL authorization) Am I right.
Then in BW Environment in RSA1->Source Systems->right click and choose Create
There are two options available for R/3 system one is Manual and one is Automatic.
For Manual  creation we give RFC Destination should be BW system and Logical system should be R/3 and Source system name is xyz.
Is there any other steps am missing. What about the inbound and outbound Idoc Parameters.
I feel this will help while transferring data to BW.am I right.
Please clearly explain the steps for R/3 and BW connectivity.
    Regards,
    VJ

    Hi,
<i>For Manual creation we give RFC Destination should be BW system and Logical system should be R/3 and Source system name is xyz.</i>
RFC Destination should be R/3 system. NOT BW system.
    <i>should i make connection with only R/3 200(Data Client) to BW</i>
Yes you have to connect to 200 only. Not to 100.Other wise you will not get data from R/3 to BW.
<i>What is the Use of Transport Button in RSA6.Post Processing data sources.</i>
It will be used to create Trasnport requests on DS .
<i>Suppose if i activate data source from Customizing client(100)and click on Transport button in RSA6 if there is connection with this client to BW. What is the Impact.</i>
It will not give any impact on BW. Actually it ask you to create a Transport requset by Prompting the message box. After click on create button and entering the description, it will create a transport request.
<i>Clearly explain me in detail what happen when i choose Transport Button in RSA6 for BC data sources.</i>
It is must and should process. Because you will not activate(using of RSA5) the DS in quality R/3 system. So to use this DS in QA system, you will import the Transport request creatd in DEV r/3.
In your case, you will use client 100 for activating the DS and creating Transport reuests. And then these DS are automatically available in client 200, because DS are Client independent.
