TDMS plugin for open office

Hi all,
I am working on my final year project at university which includes a system which stores data into a tdms file, the only problem is I have Microsoft office on my tablet and so cannot install any additional exe on to it. But i have a laptop which runs open office 4.0.1, and i have downloaded the open effice plugin for TDMS but this comes back with an error which states that i need to use a version of open office which is greater than 2.0, has anyone else ran into this problem, if so is there a fix for this as it would be very useful in my final year presentation to show off actual results from my project.
Thanks,
Jason

  • I can't get the zotero plugin for open office to work, how do I download firefox 4 so I can switch bck to the previous plugin?

I have the zotero 2.1.8 plugin installed on firefox, but I've had continuous problems with the open office extension 3.5a2. Because of this I'm trying to switch back to the previous extension (3.1b1), and was wondering where I can find a download for firefox 4 as it is incompatible with firefox 5.
    Thanks.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Template Builder (XML Publisher Report) for Open Office

    Hi,
Do any body has any idea, if can have template builder for Open Office also, My company has un installed MS Office from my machine, and they dont have license now.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nidhi Gupta

    Hi All,
I think Oracle can provide a BI Publisher Software for the Open Office, since the licencing cost for MS Office is very high.
"OpenOffice Writer" is a open source alternative to MS Word and can be used on Linux. If I am using Linux OS and have to work on BI Publisher templates then certainly I will have to install Windows or use WINE ( I donno how it works but heard of it)
Other Oracle tools such as SQL Developer, etc are platform independent.. then why only BI Publisher is limited for windows/MS Office.
    Tim,
    Can you please answer..
I think it should integrate with OpenOffice too!!

  • Dynamic Conversion for Open Office

    Hi,
the dynamic conversion is working fine with my microsoft office documents.
Is there something special I have to do, if I want to use dynamic conversion with my open office documents.
    Thanks
    Bodhy

I think you have to add the particular mime type or document type to the list for dynamic converter. There is a similar issue with Word 2007 format. When you configure dynamic converter there is a drop down of formats it will convert. In that list is something like application/msword, but nothing for Word 2007. So you have to manually put in the box something like this:
    application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document
Sorry, but at this time I don't know what they would be for open office...though I thought the two were compatible...does open office = openxml? I've just not tried any of this with open office explicitly. Let me know what you find out!

  • Control converter for Open Office, how

    Hi
I new in WCC and I looking for solution that my manager put in front of me.
I need in WebCenetr Content to end with PDF documents and download , saving to local and printing need to be disabled, also selecting the text and copy it need to be disabled.
I know that 100% security doesn't exist but we would be happy with PDF out of box ability to restrict above mention. 90% document that we deal with is Open Office writer and in it has export to PDF possibility (in security tab is possible to restict printing, copying of content ect...)
Is there a way that during the conversion form Open Office to PDF in IBR set this options?
So ..when user put a open office document in some "special" place in WCC and IBR pick it up for conversion that this option be set for it ?
    any help would be appropriated

    anybody ?

  • Adding printer to X11 for Open Office

I upgraded to open office 2.0 and now all my printers, except my default printer, are no longer found when I try to print in open office. All the printers that I have installed in OSX are still there when I print from native OSX applications.
How do I add the printers to X11 or open office 2.0?
At home, where I have upgraded to OSX10.4, all printers continued to work just fine after upgrading to open office 2.0.

  • Plugin for opening a PDF in app but editing & saving outside app?

Hi all, first of all thank you for providing such helpful commentary on the DPS solution so far.
My client is a major publisher of  educational textbooks. They are repurposing content currently to distribute globally and have a sizeable offering of potential digital products. They have been thrilled with the DPS tools so far but we have hit a major snag.
One requirement of their offering is that learners can actually open and edit pdfs (for worksheets and exercises) from within the apps and make annotations, highlights etc. Also fill in text areas, and submit those activities to their teachers via email etc.
I got the PDF opening in-app which we managed to get right fairly easily using the HTMLResources.zip technique which is a URL link to HTMLResources / pdfname.pdf as you know. It is static and cant be edited or saved but viewed perfectly.  So we tried opening the PDF using a link to another app, for example GoodReader, hoping that they could open the pdf in Goodreader and there make changes and interact with it. This also wouldn't work. We tried
    gropen://
method (opens a pdf into GoodReader) but it looks for a file locally on the device (which isn't there obviously) as it wasn't bundled in the folio, and it could find one in the HTMLResources file either using that code I tried gropen://HTMLResources/pdfname.pdf too.
I check the URL scheme for Apple devices, in particular the iPad and iPhone and loads of cool things are supported like the ability to call phones, sms, link to app store etc, but not an option to open a file into another app. so that something like this code is supported:
    ghttp://www.samplepdf.com/sample.pdf
Is there a solution here that you know of, perhaps a plugin thats exists or can be written for this? This client has scores of books and right now they are looking at scrapping the Adobe DPS tools due to this lack of functionality and going the custom app route.
Thanks for your time, any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Eva

Acrobat is only able to work with PDF files. You could convert a jpeg or tiff into a PDF using Acrobat, but I personally would either do a little math to determine if it is print-quality or drop it into InDesign at the size it will need to print and see if it works.
If you have InDesign installed you can use that program to do your layout using the raster images and check their effective ppi using the links panel:
Using InDesign might make most sense for you as you can do the layout for raster images here, and for PDF documents that clients have prepared you could use Acrobat.
The advantages of using both like this are that they have very powerful industry-standard prepress features. These prepress features can do most of your work for you by checking for low resolution images, colors out of gamut, missing links, type embedding problems etc.
More on prepress in InDesign here, this is for CS3, but the process is essentially the same in CS6: (I would skip through to 2:00)
    And prepress in Acrobat XI:

  • [request] Open Office QuickStarter applet (ooqstart)

This applet provides a quick launcher for Open Office 641C+ or Star Office 6.0+. It attempts to mimic the functionality provided by the quickstarter tray icon on the other operating system supported by Open Office.
The program attempts to keep a background process alive at all times, even if that process is terminated by the user. The four main applications: Writer, Calc, Draw, and Impress can be launched directly from the context menu of the applet.
