TDMS unable to open directory or ftp

I am using a cRIO 9113 chassis with a 9025 CPU mod.  The system is also using 9239 DAQ modules.  My Labview software is writing TDMS files to the c:\TDMSData directory on the cRIO.  I have tried using a Labview webdav application, command line ftp windows, command line ftp linux and Windows Filezilla to get the files but the connection disconnects when I try to enter the directory and either list the files or download a file.  If I use the cRIO web page and go to the files menu, I get a fatal error.  I have attached the error.  Does anyone know what may be causing this problem and/or how to resolve the problem?

Do you happen to know (or can you estimate) how many files you have created in your TDMSData Subdirectory?
From my experience VxWorks tends to "time-out" on a directory listing if the directory contains a few hundred (700 or more) files. At least that would explain your ftp errors, as a directory change usually also includes a list file commando.

  • Open Directory: "Unable to load replica list"

I'm currently running Mavericks Server 3.1 on my Mac Mini at the home network. I had some issues with the client logins and went for local accounts on the clients instead. Today I finally wanted to fix the problem and go all Open Directory. But the Open Directory service was shut off when I opened the server software. I tried to turn it on but got a message saying "Unable to load replica list". I updated the software to the latest 3.1 but are still having the same issue. I never had any replica list, I only had a standard one from the start, but it seems I can't do anyhing there now.

    Hi,
    Try these 3 solutions
    1. Did you start vncserver services as:
    service vncserver start
2.Check that port 5901 has not been blocked by a firewall:
    # nc -vz localhost 5901
You should get a connection and a termination. If you get an error, fix the firewall.
    3. service iptables stop
    Hope This Helps

  • Open directory unable to start up after crash

    Hi everyone,
Our OS X Server 10.8.4 crashed. After booting up again open directory doesn't want to start up so LDAP isn't running which means nobody can access their mails or do anything.
When trying to start the Open Directory service in the "Server" app it just says "Unable to load replica list"
Looking at the Open Directory Log after trying to switch it on this is what I get :

Does anyone have any advice on how to get it up and running again? I'd hate to lose all my users emails and do the server over. I have a time machine backup of a week ago as well which I guess is the second-to-last resort to restore the entire server from there?
    Please help, I'm desperate here
    Thanks
    J

I was able to restore the existing server with the automatic OD backup that Server.app creates. When my OD fails to start after a crash and db_recover commands don't work, it's always worked for me to restore the odmaster from a backup using the command:
    sudo slapconfig -restoredb /private/var/backups/ServerBackup_OpenDirectoryMaster.sparseimage
I'm careful to keep an independent OD backup with Carbon Copy Cloner and this preflight script.
You can also grab an earlier version of the sparse image ServerBackup_OpenDirectoryMaster.sparseimage from a Time Machine backup. It's also possible to rsync the database files directory from a Time Machine backup.

  • Unable to open Mail.  Home directory is full.

Suddenly I can no longer open my Mail program. The error message I am confronted with is:
"Mail cannot update your mailboxes because your home directory is full.
You must free up space in your home folder before using Mail. Delete unneded documents or move documents to another volume."
I have gone in to my home folder and deleted a ton of stuff. But I am still unable to open my Mail application.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

What is your hard drive capacity and available free space after deleting a ton of stuff?
    Try the following.
With the Mail.app quit and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > Envelope Index.
Move the Envelope Index file to the Desktop.
When re-launching Mail, you will be prompted to import all mailboxes located within the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail. Select OK and allow the import process to complete.
After confirming all mailboxes were successfully imported, you can delete the old Envelope Index file from the Desktop and this should resolve the problem.

  • File server for school LAN--unable to get Open Directory working right

I've been following the tutorials on wazmac.com for configuring an OSX 10.6 server for local network file sharing.
    Server IP address is 192.168.1.99.
    FQDN is oltserver.ourladyoftepeyac
AFP, DNS, and Open Directory are configured, supposedly correctly.
    What works:
Resolving the domain name to the server's IP address and vice-versa on Network Utility Lookup while on the server.
On client computers, under Accounts, I can bind to the IP address and I can bind to "oltserver.local".
After binding and restarting, I get a logon screen that shows the available users I have created in Workgroup Manager.
    What doesn't work:
Cannot resolve the domain name to the server's IP address and vice-versa on Network Utility Lookup while on client machines.
On client computers, under Accounts, I cannot bind to the FQDN, oltserver.ourladyoftepeyac. Error: Could not resolve the address (2200).
When trying to log on to a network account from a client, it fails. "Cannot log in because an error occurred."
There must be a problem with the settings for my DNS service. But unfortunately the wazmac guide doesn't give a lot of troubleshooting advice.
Any help would be appreciated. Here are bunches of settings screenshots.

That's terrific! I am almost there.
    What I did:
I followed your advice on the domain name and renamed it ourladyoftepeyac.lan. Screenshot.
Then (what probably made a big difference), I went into the network settings for the client Macs and removed their incorrect manual settings for DNS servers. This gave them the correct DNS servers! Screenshot.
This allowed the Network Utility on client machines to correctly resolve the server's IP address with the domain name! Screenshot.
Aaaaand it solved the problem with previously being unable to bind the client mac to the Open Directory server. Screenshot.
    But:
After all of that, the clients still aren't logging in. So disappointing. It's unbelievable how unhelpful the error message is, too. "Logging in to the account failed because an error occurred."
I can't understand why this is. AFP is active and set to allow guests to log in. Unfortunately, with all the help you've given, I don't have any clues left as to why the clients aren't logging on.

  • After rebooting ML server, unable to open active directory.  Error msg is Unable to open requested node error -14006.

... but I am unable to locate any reference to the specific error in these forums or via my friendly neighbourhood Google.
    Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Well, like I mentioned, if DNS is not properly configured, all bets are off. And again, if you start services before making it an OD master, you could be asking for trouble. You may be able to fix the installation, but I'd seriously consider starting over.
You might be able to fix what you have well enough to make it work, but what happens in 6 months when it gets flaky about something. You may end up wondering of there was something wrong to begin with.
    So yes, I'd start over.

  • Can't log in to Lion Server. Open Directory Log Message says: unable to connect to password server

I am setting up Lion Server. I can't log in to Lion Server from client.
Checking the Open Directory Log: says: "unable to connect to password server" or
"3394.14268, Node: /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1, Module: AppleODClient - unable to read Password Server response - connection to Password Server was closed, socket fd 18 (5205)"
    Thanks for help with this.

I never discovered the problem, and instead rebuilt the server from the ground up.  I followed instructions at this discussion thread.  Very helpful.
How To Install A (Almost) Working Lion Server With Profile Management/SSL/OD/Mail/iCal/Address Book/VNC/Web/etc.
I have had some log-in problems with users.  I have found that restarting the server helps. If this doesn't work, I rebuild permissions on the server, followed by opening up Workgroup Manager, go to the user's password, click on options and require that the user change password on the next log-in. For some reason, this will usually fix the problem.  I then log in as the user, and "change" the password to the original one. Also note, that if you import a user, the password is not brought in.  You must enter it for each user that you imported.  Even so, I have often had to resort to the re-set password procedure to enable a log-in.

  • "Unable to open driver directory"

I have an HP OfficeJet G85xi AIO. I have been using the HP G731IN.dmg driver package, but found that if I had not used the printer for a while (using a laser for day-to-day cost control) that the printer would not function. I had to do a full re-install of the HP driver and its attendant load of undesirable ancillary software. I wanted to drop the HP driver and restore full functionality (scan to and through the computer, fax, print) and understood that the hpijs driver would accomplish this. I installed the 3.9.2 package, along with GPL Ghostscript, Foomatic-RIP, and, for good measure, the Gutenprint 5.2.4 package. I can choose the exact driver for my machine, but when I attempt to print, I get this message in the CUPS error log:[cups-driverd] Unable to open driver directory "/usr/libexec/cups/driver": No such file or directory. I have attempted numerous uninstall-re-installs, resetting the print system, installing from a test account, all to no avail. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Very strange. That is the first time I have seen that message. Even if the 'driver' directory was missing, the installation of the Gutenprint driver should have created it as Gutenprint installs a driver there. You must have used the hpijs driver when setting up your printer. The Gutenprint driver for your G85 would not be available as the Gutenprint driver file in the /usr/libexec/cups/driver directory would be needed to create that printer.
I suppose the first thing to try is to manually create the directory that cups-driverd wants. Open the Terminal (/Applications/Utilities) and copy and paste the following command into the window:
    <pre style="overflow: auto;font-size:small; font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; color: #222; background: #ddd; padding: .3em .8em .3em .8em; font-size: 9px;">sudo mkdir /usr/libexec/cups/driver</pre>
Hit the Return or Enter key. You will be prompted to enter your password. You will notice that nothing appears on the screen as you type in your password. This is normal. After you enter your password, hit Return or Enter again. That should create the directory. If you do not get any error messages, then copy and paste the next command into the Terminal window:
    <pre style="overflow: auto;font-size:small; font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; color: #222; background: #ddd; padding: .3em .8em .3em .8em; font-size: 9px;">sudo chown root:wheel /usr/libexec/cups/driver
    sudo chmod 755 /usr/libexec/cups/driver</pre>
Hit the Return or Enter key after each command.
Does that get rid of the error message?
Despite what you were told, neither the hpijs or the Gutenprint drivers support scanners. They are printer drivers only. If you want software other than that provided by HP for your scanner, you may want to try VueScan shareware at http://www.hamrick.com/.
