TDP-XP2 yellow lamp light blinking periodlcally

Question

I have replaced the lamp in a TDP-XP2. The projector powers up and then the lamp light blinks every 15 seconds or so. The lamp does not come one. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

I've tried restarting the TV multiple times, but the yellow and red lights keep coming back on.  The voice only intermittently announces that the lamp is not working.  I've removed the lamp and inspected it, but unlike the shattered first lamp, this one still appears intact.
So is this really a lamp problem, or is the DLP chip fried and somehow preventing the light from coming on?  I REALLY don't want to spend any more money on this TV unless it's likely to fix the problem for the next few years, so I'm reluctant to hire a repairman.  
Any suggestions?
Unplug the set and it will reset.  I have the same problem, sometimes I have to unplug it several times for it to work.  Your bulb is probably an aftermarket bulb(same as I have).  I've had this problem for 3 years, picture is fine when it goes on.  I actually put the set on a power strip, and just hit the button to remove it from the power for 10-15 seconds.
