If the interface is in down state with being admin down, you will get this message. In that case it can be remedied by putting the interface administratively down.
If it is up, you may be having link loss issues (i.e . not enough light received to meet the design threshold of the optical transceiver). Investigate using "show interface te12/9 transceiver details" and check the receive optical power level.

  • Prevent certain USB devices from receiving power

I need to prevent devices such as cellphones from receiving power from a USB port while at the same time allowing for other devices that we use in the enterprise to function correctly. I have been unsuccessful in my research. I would like to have this
all done on the local clients so that I can add it into the image for the enterprise. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi JustIT28,
As far as I know Windows don’t have the USB device type detection ability, may you can ask your computer hardware vendor for the further help, or you can Bing
the USB security software keywords then choose some third party USB security management software.
I’m glad to be of help to you!

If the modem is also a router, either use the modem in bridge and run pppoe client on the TC.. that is assuming ADSL or similar eg vdsl. If it is cable service.. and the modem is a router, then bridge the TC.. go to internet page and select connect by ethernet and below that set connection sharing to bridge.
Please tell us more about the modem if the above gives you issues.

  • Pavilion dv6 - laptop receiving power but will not power on

    Pavilion dv6-6c53cl
    Windows 7
As of earlier tonight, I can no longer power on my laptop. (I powered it successfully earlier today.) When the power adapter is plugged in, the indicator light on the laptop next to the power connector socket turns on, so at least the laptop is receiving power. I've tried removing the battery and disconnecting the adapter, draining the power, and reconnecting the adapter with and without the battery in, and in various orders. I've also tried removing and reseating both RAM sticks and the hard drive, all to no avail. Any suggestions?
This is the fourth major failure of this system---the first three were a fan problem just weeks after purchase, a hard drive failure, and another fan problem---since I purchased it 22 months ago, and I feel I've bought a lemon.
I'd like to avoid taking this in for repair if possible, because the local repair contractor (I live in Australia) badly bungled the previous repair: They took several weeks even to start on the repair, failed to fix one problem, and introduced a second, more severe problem (a keyboard failure, which somehow they didn't test despite apparently removing and reseating it when fixing a fan problem). I asked HP support about this, and the rep said there were no other shops near where I live that do in-warranty repairs. Please help!

Can you post the different things you have tried and Current version of OS on this notebook?

  • Why will my iPad 2 not recognize any iPod cables? I have tried two different cables in both the wall and in my laptop, but it will not register that it is receiving power, nor will the laptop recognize that they are connected.

Why will my iPad 2 not recognize any iPod cables? I have tried two different cables in both the wall and in my laptop, but it will not register that it is receiving power, nor will the laptop recognize that they are connected.

Crizzo is right, the best way to charge is with the included power block. That said, the USB cords are interchangable as far as an of us know. (just not power bricks, iPhone and iPod bricks put out 5W of power, the iPad wants 10W and will always say 'not charging' if plugged into less power than it requires even though it will charge, just very slowly)
    If you have tried to charge your iPad - with the iPad charger - with multiple cables and multiple computers and get no joy then it's time to head to the apple store and have them check it out. The 30 pin USB port can go bad - mine did - and it's a manufacturer's defect (unless there's any sort of obvious damage) and should be covered under the warranty;

  • [T510] Keyboard Not Receiving Power

A Month ago, my motherboard randomly shorted out and the computer would not turn on. I called Lenovo, and took it to a repair shop. They said it would need a new motherboard, and gave the system back to me. I managed to fix it by resetting the CMOS Battery, and now it turns on just fine but the keyboard is unresponsive and the touchpad is a bit unresponsive. Does anyone know what the problem is? Could it be the battery, or is it the keyboard, or is it another component of the computer that is causing this. I think the Keyboard is not receiving power b/c none of the LEDs are lighting up, and the keyboard isn't working (been using On-Screen Keyboard for now).

    Hey there xtremecello,
When you reset the CMOS Battery, did you have to remove the Keyboard/Touchpad at all to get to it? If so, did you check to make sure that you reconnected it properly? If you haven't seen it already, the Hardware Maintenance Manual has directions for this around page 93.

  • Optical Receive Power Warning - Operating above threshold

    As we know,
we cannot configure the optical transmit power of the SFP. Though we can check the receive power level received by peer through the command:
    show interface transceiver detail
    However, logs have been displaying:
Aug 20 06:45:14.434: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Gi1/0/25: Rx power high warning; Operating value:  -1.7 dBm, Threshold value:  -3.0 dBm.
    Checking it:
Optical            High Alarm  High Warn  Low Warn   Low Alarm
Receive Power      Threshold   Threshold  Threshold  Threshold
Port       (dBm)              (dBm)       (dBm)      (dBm)      (dBm)
    Gi1/0/25    -1.7         +       1.0        -3.0       -19.0      -23.0
WIll this have a big impact on my switch? Especially the SFP module
    Factors like damage, etc.
Also, how will it affect network performance, both the health and operation of my devices
Your ideas are greatly appreciated (and if you can back it up with docs, it'd would be helpful too! ^_^)

It seems your distant end is sending a relatively high output power and/or you have a very short fiber connection with very little loss. Since you are only in the 'warn' range you are not likely to cause any damage to the receiving SFP or affect network operation adversely.  You do have the option of adding an optical attenuator to the link to make the operating range more within specification.

  • Difference between Optical Transmit and Receive Power?

    Hi all,
I'm running fine with a 3750X Stack, 3 TE plugged in and multiple GB's.
Now I'm following errors in my logs:
May 11 13:16:43 MET-1DS: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Te1/1/2: Rx power high warning; Operating value:  -0.5 dBm, Threshold value:  -0.9 dBm.
May 11 13:25:39 MET-1DS: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Te2/1/1: Rx power high warning; Operating value:   0.0 dBm, Threshold value:  -0.9 dBm.
May 11 13:26:43 MET-1DS: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Te1/1/2: Rx power high warning; Operating value:  -0.4 dBm, Threshold value:  -0.9 dBm.
The port Te1/1/1 is clean. A "sh int te1/1/2 trans detail" shows a high value for "Optical Receive Power". Also te2/1/1 shows high value for Receive Power.
Is this an indicator for the remote module or cable?
IMHO transmit power would be a broken module in the switch, but receive power should be the module in the host or cable, correct?
    Thanks
    MB

Your distant end is transmitting at a level which, when combined with the actual loss over the transmission media cables(s) and patch panels(s), exceeds the input specifications of the transceivers in your stack.
If you can check the details on the transmitting end and compare them to specification that will tell you whether it is the culprit. If it is operating within specification, you can insert an optical attenuator at one end or the other to drop the light levels by a couple of dB.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to make sure speakers are receiving power Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5938

Hello, I have been troubleshooting my sound issues with my laptop and have deduced three possibilities; Speakers not receiving power, IRQ problem, or a Sound card issue.
All sound is still being registered by the OS, I have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, and made sure the correct output device is selected. Sound does not work on my other OS on a different partition.
My Device Manager shows everything running correctly, and all services are running.
    Help would be appreciated.

  • One Nano, One receiver, Two sensors and Calibration

I share a nano with my wife. We each have our own sensors, but use the one receiver. We re-link our sensor to the receiver if the other has used the nano before hand. This has worked well-for the most part. My distances and pace have become irratic in comparison to the recorded distance and pace of the treadmill. I'm feeling the need to calibrate my sensor but am concerned that it may affect the my wifes sensor since we use the one receiver.
Question: Will calibrating affect the readings of any other sensors that share the same nano and receiver?
    Where is that information stored?
    Thanks

You will not have any problem. You are not sharing your calibration files. Each person has their own training file on the Nano which contains their own calibration settings.

  • No longer receives power

I have a thinkcentre m58. It worked great then one night woke up and it was off, normally was left on. Acts as if it is receiving no power at all. I have tried changing the power supply and still same issue. It probably was in warranty when happened but is now not. A guy at staples said a possible problem and was a manufacture problem. Any help would be great appreciated. I didn't have the money to fix it at the time it happened, kind of thought maybe it was something we did. Its still basically a new computer had it happen with six months of purchase. Thank you for any you can offer.

    Also!
When I tried restarting it again today I got this error message:
    uncaught exception: java.lang.nullpointerException

  • Mini 210 not receiving power

I'm stumped on how to fix my mini 210 and I'm hoping someone can help me.
I started having problems with the computer not recognizing that it was plugged in. After a while the tip of the power cord actually broke off so I thought that was the whole problem.
I replaced the power cord and the computer worked fine for about 10 minutes. Then it stopped recognizing that it was plugged in again. After a while the battery died and would not charge so my computer has been DOA for a while now.
I did a little research and thought it might be the power jack that was the problem. I ordered a replacement, put it in and reassembled the computer. It is still not recognizing the power cord.
I checked the connection from the power jack to the system board and there didn't seem to be any loose, broken, or missing pins. When I put the battery back in and tried to power on while plugged in, I got 2 blinks of the light that's by the power cord but nothing else happened. I tried it again without the battery and got no lights. I put the battery back in and tried again but still no light.
The only other thing I can think of is a loose connection on the system board but I'm not advanced enough to be able to fix that. Can anyone else think of anything I may be able to do before giving up and buying a new computer?

Try to check if it's just the OS not recognizing the power. With the battery out, and power cord plugged in, does it continues to provide power? This means if the power LED lights up.
If still no, I would recommend buying a new one. This is a perfect excuse.
