Tearing on tweens on pc platforms

Looking for a bit of help here... or at least wondering if
anyone else notices this.
So far I've gone to every flash site i can.....
on three separate computers....
made tons of simple tween swfs to test this....
done mouse scrollers and any kind of motion i can.
time and time again on a mac everything looks great.
time and time again on any pc i've observed image tearing
while in motion.
sometimes it is minimal, other times it is so extreme it
renders the work unusable.
i'm seeing this in actual professional websites too.... but i
can't find anyone talking about it.
has anyone experienced this tearing and jittering of movement
in flash on all PCs or is it just me?
am i going nuts here?
nothing i do fixes this.

I run XP - have been on several machines since it came out -
Flash and the
Flash player have always run flawlessly on this platform - I
avoid Vista
like the plague for my own reasons. I don't experience the
"tearing" you
mention. Is it possible to nab a screenshot?

  • 3D Tween not working in Test mode or Published version

Hi, I'm pretty much tearing my hair out with this one. I am
creating a 3d tween using the 3D rotation tool and everything looks
great when I play it on the timeline but as soon as I test or
publish the movie, the image is static, doesn't rotate and appears
in the top left corner of the movie. I've tried it on three
different computers and still have the problem so I guessit's got
    to be with my process.
    Draw a square
Convert the square to a movie clip
    Insert a Motion Tween
On the final frame, use the 3d Rotation Tool to rotate the
    square movie clip
Play the movie - square rotates, everything works fine
Test the movie - Square appears static on the screen (appears
in top left corner of movie) and does nothing
Can anyone see anything I'm missing from that process or know
of any setting that may be causing the problem. Any suggestions
    would be greatly appreicated.
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Thanks - got the file.
So, I added a third instance next to the other two just fine - it scrubs and publishes. (my steps were to take the trigger instance from the library, and I copy and pasted the motion from one of the other clips to the third instance)
So that doesn't seem to be the problem. Could you add the steps you're using where the 3D doesn't animate, or add the non-working file?
    Thanks!

  • Mini-DVI port not working: wear and tear?

I had been happily using the mini-DVI port to play content on TV, using a DVI to Video adapter : plugging and unplugging probably twice a week.
Now it seems to have stopped, abruptly: no signal at all is reaching the TV. (Adapter still works fine on my MacBook.)
What are the chances of wear and tear damaging the DVI port? Is this a complicated fix? Any other thoughts? No recent upgrades or updates.
"About this Mac" reckons it's mirroring fine, so it feels like a hardware thing. Many thanks in advance.

    Hello ewfelton
It is very possible that the DVI port on the iMac has been damaged from wear and tear, as it's harder to get at than the MacBook.
I would disconnect everything from the iMac, grab a clean towel and turn it face down on the desk. Then with a magnifying glass and light inspect the DVI port for a broken or bent pin. In the process of inspecting the port your SMC will also be reset, follow the instruction for "How to reset the System Management Controller" when your done.
If the port seems OK and the SMC reset doesn't get it going use Disk Utility to Repair Disk Premissions and try it again.
Your local Apple Store or local Apple Service Provider can replace a bad or damaged DVI port.

  • I need to silently upgrade from 3.5 to 7 but get an error message after 7 install. Platform version 7.0 is not compatible with minVersion = 1.9.1

I'm trying to silently upgrade my environment to FF 7. I've gotten the silent install working great, it puts in my Proxy Server info, reassigns the home page and all that. But, the last version we pushed out was FF 3.5. If a user had that on their PC and they run the FF7 install, they get weird messages when clicking on the icon.
XULRunner: Error: Platform version '7.0' is not compatible with minVersion >= 1.9.1 maxVersion <=1.9.1
    Another message they get is:

  • Firefox will not open after new update; Error: Platform version '1.9.2.13' is not compatible

After accepting the new update I got this error message when trying to restart Firefox:
    XULRunner
Error: Platform version ‘1.9.2.13’ is not compatible with
    minVersion >= 1.9.2.14
    maxVersion <= 1.9.2.14
    I have tried:
    - Opening in Safe Mode; same error
    - Uninstalling, deleting remaining info in C>ProgramFiles>MozillaFirefox folder, and reinstalling.
    - Updating Avast antivirus in case that was interfering.
    Now when I try to start Firefox I get this message;
Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.
But there is nothing happening in the Windows Task Manager. Please, somebody save me from Windows Internet Explorer!!

I experienced this error updating from Firefox 3.6.13 to 3.6.14 and resolved it by doing a 'clean' install' as described. It occurred again in updating from 3.6.14 to 3.6.15 and this time a clean install failed to rectify it. (Anyway, I don't want to have to go through this every time.)
    Work-around: Shut down Firefox. Edit application.ini (typically "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\application.ini")
    [Gecko]
    MinVersion=1.9.2.15
    Change to 1.9.2.13
Save. Start Firefox. Dirty? Yes. Works? Yes.
(Gecko is the forerunner or XULrunner)

  • List View in iPad Platform in Agentry

    Hi,
In EquipmentView Screen Set there is a MeasuringPointsView_iPad Detail Screen. This screen has a List Tile View. The properties for this view has Selected screen set as MeasuringPointTileSelected. I created a field of List View in MeasuringPointTileSelected_iPad screen.
When im trying to view the screen in iPad its throwing an error: “Invalid Control Type for a list tile”. I created the same field in Windows platform screen and it was working fine.
Can someone guide me in resolving this issue.
    Thanks

    Madhuri,
I have tried the way you mentioned by using non-sap(MSSQL) bakend with ipad platform. It is working fine for me when i have tested the app in ATE.
Once try to cross check with my procedure once.
1.I have three objects Customer, orders, products.Orders object is collection to customer,Product Object is collection to orders.
2.I have defined 'show order tile' screen set for order object with one detail screen that contains order id and customer id.
3.Defined another screen set 'show order tile selected' for order object This details screen  contains all the fields in the order object. Now i have defined as mentioned by you a field with edit type as 'list view'-->check whether all the settings are done correctly in this field->height(20),collection(In my example Products),List view columns(Product Name)->that means the list view will display all the product names of the selected order object.
4.Go to 'show customer details screen set' ,define a detail screen, add a field with edit type as 'list tile view'->set the collection to orders, list tile view settings->screensets->row ->show order tile screen set
selected ->show order tile selected screen set
5.Publish and test in ATE.For your understanding iam inserting the screen shot that i have done.
Please try to map the screen sets and objects in my example.....Hope this may be a bit helpful for you.

  • Free Transform breaks Motion Tweens

Sigh! Normally I try to solve problems myself... but Google isn't giving me anything about this so maybe I'm the only one in the world experiencing this particular issue.
I've used Flash for making games for years now, and I got used to using the old motion tweens for making looping animations for characters. I made the leap from AS2 to AS3 a while ago, and felt like I should try to use these new motion tweens as well since I got CS5...
I've found them completely unusable, however, due to a bizarre problem that happens when moving around objects using the Free Transform tool.
For a single character, I'll have a MovieClip with several layers, each with a 'body part' MovieClip on it, then I add the new blue-type motion tweens to all of those layers. At the end of those tweens, I use F6 to (hopefully) duplicate the starting pose; it is meant to loop, after all. Then I'll go about half way between these two keyframes and move bits around to create the A->B->A sort of 'idle' or 'breathing' animation.
The Free Transform seems dodgy though. If I select all the 'limbs' of a character at once and try to rotate them as a group, it works, but they each end up displaced a bit when I release the mouse; they get offset slightly or rotate a bit in seemingly random directions.
For example, compare these two images (it's easiest if they're opened in separate tabs, I suppose): http://scraps.fighunter.com/sparkpupagh1.png and http://scraps.fighunter.com/sparkpupagh2.png
The first one is after rotating it but before I released the mouse button, the second is what the pieces ended up like after I released the button. Most of the pieces ended up where they should be, but the head was offset slightly. This is a mild case; it's usually worse and affects all the pieces, and the slight offsets and rotations build up, too.
This in itself wouldn't be too bad - though it's frustratingly inaccurate - but it gets much, much worse the more I work on a single animation.
(Note: These strange changes don't happen if I rotate all the parts as a group if they're not also contained within new motion tweens...)
Here's a screenshot showing a frame mid-way through an animation, with one of the parts selected: http://scraps.fighunter.com/meepagh1.png
The Motion Editor is shown, though I don't use that directly.
With that feather bit selected, I then rotated it a tiny, tiny amount, but didn't *move* it at all. When I released the mouse, it ended up snapping suddenly to here: http://scraps.fighunter.com/meepagh2.png
That'd be frustrating in itself, but as you can see from the Motion Editor, it's also messed up most of the other frames in the animation, somehow. This becomes unbearable, as you can likely imagine!
If I edit the graph in the Motion Editor directly to alter the Z value and cause a rotation, it works, without problems... but this is horribly inefficient and unintuitive and not a solution. I can't animate by tweaking numbers. It's like trying to draw a portrait using an Etch-A-Sketch!
It seems to only be the Free Transform tool that creates this bizarre problem.
This has been happening since I got CS5 maybe a year or two ago, though I haven't actually had to use the animation tools much until a few days ago so that's why I'm bringing it up now. I've restarted Flash, my computer, etc, etc, many times; I also got the trial version of CS6 today to see if THAT would fix it, but the exact same thing happens in that version too.
I'm wondering whether it's my computer's fault in some way... I don't know enough about hardware and 'specs' and that sort of stuff to describe anything about it, but I'm using Windows Vista and the computer is fairly old and not exactly what I'd call reliable. I'm planning to get a new one soon, so it'd be nice if that fixed this problem... but frustrating if it doesn't.
I'll link to the CS6-flavoured .fla that those screenshots are from: http://scraps.fighunter.com/Meep.fla
I'd very much appreciate it if someone could test this to see if it's happening to only me! If I go to frame 146 (to choose one at random), and try to rotate the foot, slightly, using the Free Transform tool, it breaks in the way that I've described. (Oddly, the head feather rotates without issues on that frame...) If you were to try to do this same thing and it *doesn't* break, it might be a good sign that it's my computer's fault!
If it *does* break though... then I'd very much appreciate any help I can get from someone who understands the new motion tweens better than I do!
It'd be a shame to have to go back to Classic Tweens because of this...

  • Import statement code generation from Java-Platform Model in Java Studio

Problem : When you create a Java-Platform Model type project in Java Studio 8.1 and as an example You would like to create an Attribute with java.util.Date type for a Class than how can You set this Attribute type in order to create the Code Generator the standard java package reference in Your code like : "import java.util.Date;" ? What is the right syntax in the "Type'" field of the Attribute Properties dialog ?

You should also consider using NetBeans as an alternative to JSE8.1.
Java Studio Enterprise 8.1 is itself built on top of NetBeans version 5.0. NetBeans is an ide developed as opensource at www.netbeans.org; it is extensible ide and so add-on modules can be developed to run on top of netbeans. And that is what JSE8.1 does; JSE 8.1 is NetBeans 5.0 plus several add-on modules (like UML etc).
The latest stable version of NetBeans is 6.0 and provides improved versions of all relevant addons found in JSE.

  • Adobe Flash CS5 - Blur effect & tween not working

When I try to create a tween for the blur, so it will blur into focus, the tween just wont work. I go to frame 130, keyframe, add blur filter, create clasic tween. But when i go to frame 131 it instantly pops into focus instead of going along the tween time span to blur in gradually(I have the next keyframe at 160). Anyone have any ideas?! This boggles my mind!
Any help or suggestions would be deeply appreciated
    Thanks in advance...
