Tech System in SLD and RZ70 in 4.6c and 4.7 systems

Hi,
We have two legacy systems R3 4.6C and R3 4.7 Systems in our landscape and we are using PI 7.1.
we are setting up configurations for IDOC communications
1) between 4.7 and PI
2) between 4.6C and PI
for registering 4.7 system in SLD, we used RZ70 transaction in 4.7, and the tech system (of type AS ABAP) got created in SLD, so we could proceed with creation of Business system for one of its abap client.
but when we tried the same thing in 4.6c system, when we tried executing RZ70 in 4.6C system, it says "Transaction RZ70 does not exist".  Since 4.6C does not support rz70, how can we register the corresponding Tech System in PI SLD.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
The ABAP-based SLD data supplier (transaction RZ70) is available for all SAP systems as of SAP Basis release 4.0B.
For details see here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/EN/11/0dfe55e0c8fc4e910706a47ca6859b/content.htm
Are you sure you typed in transaction code correctly?
If everything does not help open a CSN at SMP and in the meantime - as a workaround - you can maintain the SLD manually for that system.

Volker

  • Adding multiple system to SLD

    Hi ,
I have added ECC 5.0 system into SLD using RZ70 transaction . Now I need to add another web as ABAP system ( out crm system ). Is there any way I can add it automatically or I need to do add it manually using  ' New Technical system , under Home -> Technical system ?
    Pls advice

    Jayant,
I'm not entirely sure about a Web AS ABAP system but with a Web AS Java system you can launch the Visual Administrator, navigate to the SLD Provider service and add the connection details for the SLD server and it automtically updates the SLD with the Web AS server. I guess it would be the same with the ABAP stack.

  • Business System in SLD

Do I have to create each system as businass system into SLD?
Is it possible to work with business system (in Integration Directory) that not exist into SLD?

You have to use 2 services (Business system in SLD for application system).
Business System for role as Integration server has to be there.
Not to confuse you more you will have 3 business system in SLD.
2 for the target and source system as a role of application syetem and one for XI integration server.
    Hope it helps,

  • What's different between busniess system and technical system in SLD?

I can enter product(ect.ERP r/3) , components(ect.FI-CO module) to technical system , then enter technical system to busniess system  but ,who can explain  what's different between busniess system and technical system in SLD, exactly?
    THANKS!

Technical Systems are of following types:
Technical systems are application systems that are installed in your system landscape. An example of an application system is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) server. In the SLD, there are five types of technical systems:
    1.)WEBas java,
    2.)Standalone JAVA
    3.)Third party
    4.)Web as ABAP
    1) Web AS Java
Web AS Java systems consist of one or more instances and each instance is installed on a separate host. An instance itself consists of cluster nodes that can communicate with each other.
    2.)Standalone Java
Standalone Java technical systems are standalone Java applications that are installed in a computer system from an administration perspective. They can also be installed as an operating system service or as a daemon
Web AS java belongs to the NetWeaver Comes with both ABAP and Java, Standalone instread comes separate from the netWeaver.
    3) Third party technical sytem
It can be any of the technical sytem. let us say if you want to send a file to R/3, here the file reside in your local system. for that you can define your local system as a third party technical system.
All those machines that comes under non sap, belongs to the third party.
4.) Web AS ABAP technical systems, ranging from any SAP system to an APO server or CRM server, are based on the same Basis Component (BC), which includes the ABAP interpreter, ABAP Dictionary, ABAP Workbench, and so on. A dedicated database, which stores most of the data of the BC and the application components, is associated with the system.
    Also refer : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/24/8fa93e08503614e10000000a114084/content.htm
Business systems are logical systems, which function as senders or receivers within XI. Business systems can be SAP systems or third-party systems.
Depending on the associated technical system, the following types of business systems are defined in the SLD:
    · Web AS ABAP
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS ABAP.
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS ABAP, can play the role either of an application system or an integration server. An integration server is the central component of XI, which provides a framework for the exchange of information among various internal and external entities of a company. The integration server facilitates the interaction between the different operating systems and applications across internal and external networks.
    · Web AS Java
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS Java.
    · Standalone
A business system, which is associated with a standalone Java application.
    · Third-party
A business system, which is associated with a third-party technical system.

    hi Nikhil,
Null pointer errors are difficult to correct as is
If you have imported the BS from some other system make sure the BS has been imported correctly without errors & any Tech systems attached to it exist.

  • Technical system in SLD for Exchange Infrastructure prod entry deleted

    Hello,
Technical system in SLD for Exchange Infracture  does not have any entries.
Integration server entry is also not existing.
    adapter engine,domain,integration server,integration directory,integration repository,rwb do not exists.
My main concern is there is no entry for Integration Server - how can I get back this entry . I restarted J2EE engine from NWA but still I am not able to see Integration server entry under Exchange Infrastructure technical system.
I also did RZ70 but no use.
    Please suggest.

    Hi
One of the steps, when applying note #764176, is to delete all 6 of these entries in the SLD. So deleting the entries is not a big problem. These entries should be automatically created when you have successfully completed all the steps in note #764176. So, I'd recommend to apply all steps in this note.
Also, ensure the system is consistently patched i.e. ABAP, Java and XI components must be on the same SP level. An inconsistently patched system is another possible cause of this error.
What happens when you run the SLDCHECK transaction? Do you see errors here?
    Regards

  • Adding BO System in SLD

    Hi,
For ABAP systems we add it in SLD through RZ70 & for Java through Visual Admin. How to add BO system(SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 ) in SLD?Is there anyway we can add it through CMC?

Hi, if you read the document END-TO-END ROOT CAYSE ANALYSIS (System Landscape Setup Guide) V 2.14    section 4.40. You can read the following information :
    >>4.40 SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.0 & 3.1
Latest up to date information for SAP BOE 3.x is available in SAP Note 1357901.For Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.0 and 3.1 an automated creation of the technical landscape via SLD is not available. Therefore you need to create the technical landscape manually using the transaction SMSY and afterwards perform the managed system setup for all BOE Technical Systems created.
    Hope it's help

  • Registering a new technical system in SLD - ABAP based

    Hi friends,
For ,Registering a new technical system in SLD - ABAP based
    I followed the following steps...
    At first
    - went  to the SDL - http://server:port/sld
    - went  to the "Administaton" tab
    - went  to the "Data Supplier Bridge"
    In RFC Gateway
    Server :
    Service :
    What I to give Here...
is it the R/3 System  Server and Service
    Please suggest regarding it...
    With Regards,
    Sunil

    Hi Michal,
Thanks for the Blog. It was really enlightening to find out how the Technical systems are registered. But my problem is not solved yet.:(
I have newly installed a CRM 2007 system, and tried to see the Technical systems AS ABAP and AS JAVA which should be automatically created. But no AS ABAP system was created. So i tried doing it using your Blog.
In the Admin tab of SLD, i did  not find any "Data Suppliers Bridge", but there was a "Data Suppliers" tab. On clicking it, i verified that sld/active was TRUE, and then updated the data in RZ70 and clicked on Activate button. The activation was successfully done, but no new AS ABAP Technical system appeared.
Is there any more configs left to be done? Please help me out with this issue. Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Savan D.

    Hi,
When registering an ABAP based system to SLD, there also needs to be an RFC connection setup on ABAP side to connect to the SAP Gateway service on the J2EE system with SLD.
Hope you have the RFC connection setup fine and working.
