Technical Details And Success Story of Adobe LiveCycle Document Security

First of all I am sorry if my subject is not related to the previous topics.
I am a master student of Media Informatics in RWTH Aachen University. Now I am taking a seminar course of Digital Management Rights, and I have a topic: Adobe LiveCycle Document Security to be presented next week.
I do not have details information on how it works/technical aspect about it that I really need to well prepare of my presentation. I have read all the document in adobe website but unfortunately I could not find much more details explanation.
I also need user stories when they use Adobe LiveCycle Document Security. I read also the success story from adobe web site but it has no success story of customer who use the specific product of Adobe LiveCycle Document Security.
Thank you for your help.

There is a good case study on Penn State that would probably make a good addition to your presentation:

  • Forms pulling Multiple Records from an XML Schema and XML data files - Adobe LiveCycle Designer

I built a form in Adobe LiveCycle with an xml schema and data file.  The problem is with how the form renders the xml data file.
I have a statement element that consists of about 6 fields (statementID, statementName, statementAddress, statementCountry, statementZip, statementDate, etc) of data in the schema that allows for multiple iterations - so one xml data file can contain multiple statements. These fields allow for null values.
But here's the problem:  When any of the statements - say statement 2 of 6 - has a null value in one of the fields, if the xml data file doesn't have a placeholder
(example of placeholder:  <statementName type="String"/>   )in the xml for that field, my form pulls the field value from the NEXT statement.
This corrupts all the rest of the statement records, as this field is shifted up for all the rest.
I know that in the past I haven't needed a placeholder when a field was null. But I'm wondering if when the data allows for multiple records the xml data file needs to generate the placeholder.  And where is the problem? In the Schema? The xml data file? My form?  And the 64-thousand-dollar question:  How to fix it?

If your <statement> element is the one that repeats, it should be bound to a subform with the binding string of something like $.statement[*]. Then in that subform should be your fields and they should have bindings of $.statementID, $.statementName, $.statementAddress, etc.

  • Button to hide and unhide rows in Adobe Livecycle

I have table in Adobe Livecycle I want button when I press to unhide two rows and if I need two more and .... And I need same button to hide two rows.
    Thank you.

Use the 'presence' property. If your row is a static row (ie you see it in design time), then simply reference the name: myRow.presence="hidden" or myRow.presence="visible".
However, if it's a dynamic row (ie you add them at run time), then you have to reference the name of the row along with its index: myRow.all.item(3).presence="hidden". The index of a row is zero-based, that means the first row is 0 and in my example row 3 is the 4th from the top.

  • Upgrade to Adobe Acrobat XI Professional and free upgrade to Adobe LiveCycle Designer

  • Livecycle Policy Server and Livecycle Document Security

Do I need Document Security to use Policy Server??

    Hello,
I've been hunting around but can't find it. Is there a concise refernce for how to use Adobe Acrobat8 Security features with the Adobe Document Center? Is it so new that there's no book (Quick Start, etc.) on it?
I send PDFs to people. But I only want them to be able to print the PDF, not copy any of its content. I also want the PDF to "self destruct" after a 3 month period. I was going to use Pinion Software's AutoShred product, but then I stumbled upon Adobe8 and the Document Center, which seemed like a perfect fit. So I immediately upgraded to Adobe8 and signed up for the trial at the Document Center.
I have created security policies. But when I look at the policy, there is nothing allowing the detailed modifications permitted in Acrobat8 - Secure / Show Security Properties / SecurityTab / and the list for Document Restrictions Summary.
For some reason, when I set up a security policy - most restrictive to only permit printing and file non-access after 3 months - the "page extraction: allowed" always shows up when I examine Show Security Properties / Security Tab / Document Restrictions Summary, even though for everything else it is "Not allowed" which is what I want.
I thought maybe its a bug, because when I close the file and then reopen it, the page extraction is grayed out. But I don't know if people I send the file to will be able to extract the pages, thus getting around my objective of not allowing them to copy/paste any of my proprietary content onto some other file format.
    Any help on this?
    Thanks,
    Robert

  • Suddenly my iMac will no longer open PDF files. I am not very good at technical details and sure need help. I can't open my bank statements.

    Can anyone help?

In that case, instead of trying to open the PDF in a web page, right click the link and download the linked file.  At least then you can read it.
I don't know what you may have changed.  It may have been them changing something on their end, not you. You might create a new user on your Mac to test with. If you can read it in Safari from the new user account then you know the problem is something related to your user account. If it doesn't work there it is either nothing you can fix or it is a system-wide problem.

  • To display the opening balances of the customer in detail and A/R invoice open status document

    hi every one
    i want a report
for the below code i am getting only the documents that are posted from 01/04/2014. But for some customers and vendors i have entered opening balances using J/E so in this report i want to display the detailed split of the BP Account Balance which i have entered in J/E
    SELECT
    T0.[CardName][Customer Name],
    T0.[DocNum][Document Number],
    T0.[DocStatus][Status],
    T0.[DocDate][PostingDate],
    T0.[DocDueDate][DueDate],
    T0.[DocTotal][Total],
    t1.SlpName,

    FROM dbo.OINV T0 INNER JOIN OSLP T1 ON T0.[SlpCode] = T1.[SlpCode]
    WHERE DocStatus = 'o'

I'm not sure if this will work but you can have a try good luck
select TOP 100 convert(nvarchar(10),j.refdate,101) [Posting Date] ,(case j.transtype  when 24 then 'RC'  when 13 then 'IN'  when 14 then 'CN'  when 30 then 'JE'  when 321 then 'JR' else j.transtype end) Origin ,convert(nvarchar(max),j.baseref) [Origin No.] ,j.contraAct [Offset Account] ,convert(nvarchar(max),j.LineMemo) [Details] ,OJ.loctotal [C/D(LC)] ,(j.BalDueDeb - j.BalDueCred) [Balance Due(LC)]

left join OJDT OJ on j.transid = OJ.transid
where  j.shortname in (Select CardCode FROM OCRD) and i.DocStatus = 'O'
    order by j.transid DESC
Note: you can removed the TOP 100 to show all the transactions.
to show only the invoice transaction you may want to add the filtering for J.TransType = 13

  • Adobe Reader document security properties miss-match

    Hi,
I've created a document with document assembly allowed and form filling diss-allowed. Infact it's security bitmap mask is:
    011011011100 or -2340
So you can clearly see that:
bit 9 is off, signifying form filling is NOT allowed
bit 11 is on, signifying document assembly IS allowed
Problem is I'm seeing this in adobe reader:
    So my questions:
Why is there an inconsistency between the two dialogs?
Why in the first dialog is form filling allowed?
    Thanks in advanced!
    Andy.

If you are using your own software, I would think that your question is not directly related with Adobe and/or Reader.
I have to disagree, perhaps you didn't see my first post with my two specific questions?
Why is there an inconsistency between the two dialogs [in adobe reader]?
Why in the first dialog [in adobe reader] is form filling allowed?
So to re-iterate. I've created a PDF with a bitmask (which you can see in my first post) which, to the best of my understanding and interpretation of the PDF spec is correct and valid for a PDF that should diss-allow form filling. This part should really not be in question, unless of course I've interperated the PDF spec wrong and the bitmask is wrong. Either way, the bitmask shows that form filling is not enabled. In adobe reader, the first security details screen says that form filling is enabled. My question is simple, why? Also, why is it inconsistent between the two properties forms?
Anyone have any knowledge about these two security dialogs in adobe reader?
    I hope this helps!
    Thanks a lot!
    Andy.

  • How to convert the Adobe 10 PDF to Adobe LiveCycle ES2 so that I can make the text boxes expandable?

When I convert the Adobe 10 PDF to Adobe LiveCycle ES2 it is a static document, thus not allowing me to make the text boxes expandable.  How do I take a current Adobe 10 PDF with Text and convert it to Adobe LiveCycle ES2 so that I can make the text boxes expandable?

    Hi Alan,
TextField objects can expand dynamically.  There are a few things that you need to do:
    1. The TextField object should be contained in a subform that is set to Content: Flowed.  This isn't technically necessary, but if you have anything below the expanding text box and the subform is set to Positioned, the text will expand and overlay what's below.
    2. On the Field tab of the text field's Object property tab, check the Allow Multiple Lines checkbox
    3. On the Layout tab, check the Expand To Fit checkbox under Y:/Height
    4. Set the PDF Render Format under Form Properties/Defaults to Dynamic XML Form.  If you're previewing in Designer, don't forget to set the preview to Dynamic too.

    Rave
