Technical name disply for Report

Hi All,
I am facing a strange issue in reporting. When User is executing a portal report from BEx web analyzer, only Technical name of the report is diplaying on Output of the Report. Iif I execute from my system even with the same user id it is diplaying description. Anyone has idea what might be the cause and how to resolve this issue.(User is connecting the system with other than english as Language). I hope something related to Translation.
Thanks in Advance
Vani

Hi,
Please ask the user to log in in the English Language.Or else transport the query in their language.
In our case, we transport the query in the client's language, Then the query description will be seen by the user in their language.
Hope it helps....

  • Web Page title is showing technical name of the report

When BI report is running from portal (web), in the wab page titel is showing report technical name. But i want to display report description,
If any one knows about this pls send me the how fix that. I am working on BI 7
    Thanks

    Hi,
Have you used a Text Item for displaying the name of the Query ? If yes, in the properties of the Text Item, you would have binded the Data Provider. Here, you can give the option of Displaying General Text and the General Test Item can be the Query Description.
Pls let me know if you have used somthing else or in some other way.

  • Can only view BW technical name in Crystal Reports

I am trying to report in Crystal against a BW query with 2 key figure structures. (i.e. rows & column)
If we connect using the recommended BW MDX Query driver the 2nd structure (row) returns as a single flat field (as expected)
In order to get round this I have tried connecting using the BW Query driver. This actually returns the above structure as separate fields. Perfect.
Unfortunately the 1st structure (column from the BW Query) only returns the concatenated technical field name in the field explorer, making it difficult to read. I have changed the view in the Database Options to description but this does nothing.
Any suggestions on how to bring through the field descriptions from BW?
    For info I am using:
    Crystal Reports 2008 SP3
SAP BO Integration Kit XI SP3
    BW 7.1 SP5 enhancement pack 1

    Hi,
the recommended approach is the BW MDX Driver and it works as you described it yourself.
the BW Query Driver has already been deprecated

  • Technical Names appearing in the report output

    Hi Experts,
I am in support and got a strange case. When one of the users runs the report in web, he sees technical names of the fields instead of their description. On the contrary, when I run the report, everything comes fine. I don't know where the problem could lie. If you can help me, that would be really great.

    Hi Shobhit,
Please check that if the objects are Translated to the language User is using.
When you try to run the report, you might be using English as default language and everything is there in English only. And when user tries to run the report, most possibly use's login Language must be different.
You can crosscheck this by using the users language while logging in to Analyser,
If this is the case (Translation) even you will see the Technical names.

  • Bex Query calc key figures in Crystal report not showing technical names.

    Hi,
I have created calculated key figures in a BEx query for which the data comes from a SAP BW cube. I have assigned each of the calculated key figures a proper technical name which I expect to see when I bring it to crystal report. When I bring that query in Crystal as a data source the calculated key figures show a wier network id names instead of the technical names. I am having a problem in using those wierd technical name in my report and my formula's as I am not able to identify what is what.
    Please urgent help requested.
    Thanks
    Mahendra

I dont have an account on such website. I will explain u the problem in detail.
When I create a calculate key figure in SAP BEx query designer I assigned a technical name to it, a meaningful one. In my case one such example is Actual_revenue is the name that i have assigned and the description is Actual revenue. When I create a crystal report from it and in that report if i create a formula.
    I get this {ZIC_COPA_Z_SALES.[Measures]-[25V1KYL4VE92X0T4OMHVYM90V]}
If u see it its a wier 25 digit name.
Instead of this I want to see
{ZIC_COPA_Z_SALES.[Measures]-[ACTUAL_REVENUE]} which is what I have given in the query. I am using the SAP BW MDX driver to connect to Bex query.

  • Re:reports(technical name)

    Morning gurus
I am running some reports in bex analyzer how  can i know the technical name of any report query and how can i find whether it is a sap standard one or z report
    thanks
    pv

    Hi PV,
While opening a report in Analyzer > click on properties
You will get the Tech name of the Query.
    Or
Click on Information in the report output of the Query.
You will have 0 prefixed for SAP Standard Queries.
If there is no 0 infront of the Query name...that is customized.
    Regards,
    Ram.

  • Display the technical name of the last level of the hierarchy

    Hello,
I have a report with hierarchy. Each level of the hierarchy uses different infoObject. I want the report to display the technical name only for nodes from specific infoObject. For example if the infoObject uses 0cust_grp1 (for the first level), 0cust_grp2 (for the second level), 0cust_grp3 (for the third level) and 0customer (for the last level) and I want to show the technical name only for the 0customer infoObject. I know how to do it in WAD reports. Is there a way of doing it in the Query Designer?
    Please Advice,
    David

    David,
          Check the below possibilities.
    1. You can do that in a workbook.
    2. Create a copy of the same hierarchy and for the 0CUSTOMER object and nodes give tech names as text also.

  • How to add report name to MSS reports in NWBC

I am using the standard report Launchpad in HRMSS_REPORTING_LAUNCHPAD in role SAP_MANAGER_MSS_SR_NWBC_3 role to allow managers run certain reports.
When I open Reports launch pad, all the reports appear with the description of the report such as Personal Data, Org data etc.
However when I run the report, the technical name of the report appears at the top.
An example of this would be running report Personal data, when run the header is reading 0HCM_PA_T01_Q0008.
How can I replace the tech name of the report to read the description instead
i.e. Personal data to appear at the top instead of 0HCM_PA_T01_Q0008.
    thanks

    Hello Clive,
I think you should contact your development team. Probably some field is visible in Application Configuration and that is why it shows up. I think the best will be that you seek help from your Development team.

  • Mapping of status CRTD,AALK with Technical names

    Hi all,
We have Client requirment in which we are preparing Customized program which will download Budget data for a particular Project.
After executing this customized z transaction, we are giving following inputs.
    Proj Def.
    WBS Element
    Version
    Scope
    Scale
    Level
    Status
It works fine if we are giving Status as I0001,I0005,I063,I0064,I0360 which is Technical name derived for Status ( From PRPS & JEST table ).
But Client wants to put status CRTD,AALK in that.
Any idea how status CRTD,AALK,REL mapped in Technical field.
Any pointes on this issue will be highly appericated. Points will be rewarded for useful answers.
    Regards
    Tushar

    Tushar,
The correspondance between the status "code" and "text" is in table TJ02T.
I don´t know if this will be useful to your needs.

  • How to know the table name of an InfoCub if we know cube technical name?

How to know the table name of an ODS if we know the ODS technical name?
    Thanks
Message was edited by: Kevin Smith

    hi kevin
if the ODS is a standard ODS then you check the following way in SE16
    (for custom ODS objects)
/BIC/A<ODS technical name>00 (Active Data Table)
    /BIC/A<ODS technical name>40  (Activation Queue)
/BIC/B<10 digit number> (Change Log Table)
    (for SAP defined ODS Objects)
/BI0/A<ODS technical name>00 (Active Data Table)
    /BI0/A<ODS technical name>40  (Activation Queue)
/BI0/B<10 digit number> (Change Log Table)
and for Transactional ODS Object you will have only the active data Table. So you need to check with /BIC/A<ODS technical name>00 for the custom ODS objects and /BI0/A<ODS technical name>00 for SAP defined ODS objects.
    hope this helps.

  • Map variant technical name to text name

    Hello Community,
In SE38, variants for each program have text based names.
In the STEP overview of SM37, and also in table TBTCP, the variant name (or "the parameter") is a technical name.  For example: &0000000065119
How does one map the technical name of a variant to the text name for that variant ?
Even better: since I already have the technical names --> in which table does SAP store the values of the variant together with this technical name ?
Ultimately, I am searching for the values, based on the tech name (e.g. &0000000065119)
    Thanks!!

Does this do what you want?
    thisComp.name

  • Inputting technical name for varaints in portal makes it viewable to all

Hello all, we are BI 7.0 using Portal for reporting
This is the issue I am facing, when an user is trying to save a varaint for any particular query it asks for description and technical name. Now if the user only enters description and not tech name still the system accepts it and it works fine. If user inputs both the fields still it works fine. But now the difference is that if the user has entered technical name than that varaint can be viewed by all the users kind off like global variant for everyone; and if the user only inputs description than only the user that created the varaint can see it.
So i just want to take away the technical name box from that screen; where/which template do I need to modify? I am using 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN for reporting.
Is there any other work around for this or information that i am missing and i am seeing such behavior can someone explain.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi guys,
Thanks for your answers first of all.
I don't want to store the technical name of the openhub in the logical file name....i want this to be determined dynamically, depending on the openhub that is used with this logical file name.
I was wondering were i can fetch the openhub technical name during the execution of the DTP on the openhub / when also the function module FILE_GET_NAME is being ran.
    Let me know!
    Thanks in advance!

  • Display description of report rather than the technical name

    Hi all
I have made a few reports using the Bex report designer that have been emailed to end users by the bex broadcast facility as a PDF
However, when end users receive the email the attached PDF received has the technical name rather than the description.
Does anyone know how to change this so that end users receive the PDF with the description rather than the technical name.
    Many thanks
    Forhad

Yes the DOS 8.3 shortname format is the only accepted for the ThinkVantage button registry key.
One general way to obtain DOS 8.3 formats from a path except from DIR /x in a CMD window is to use execute a VBSCRIPT file that uses the FileSystemObject class
If you save the following sample vbscript code to a text file with .vbs extension and open it in file explorer it will write the short path of LSC.exe to a file text file named "Path_DOS83.txt":
'Convert a full path to DOS 8.3 Shortname format and save to text file
    With CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    .CreateTextFile("Path_DOS83.txt",True).Write(.GetFile("C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Lenovo Solution Center\LSC.exe").ShortPath)
    End With
What the code does it creates a File System Object instance and calls .CreateTextFile and writes the ShortPath of the File object obtained by the .GetFile function.
