Technical names and short text

I know there is a posibility to display technical names beside short text name when selecting content from a drop-down box. For example, when i want to select a material type in transaction MM01 I want it to show me both, technical name and short text of each material type. I know each user has to have this option activated somewhere but dont know where. Do anyone of you know? Thanks

Hi Jack.. Welcome to SDN!
Click the "Customizing of local layout" icon on the main application toolbar. It is the icon all the way to the right. Choose "Options". Choose the "Expert" Tab. Click the checkbox for "Show Keys in all dropdown lists".

Diagnosis
An internal error has arisen in the form routine ANALYZE_ACT_FIELDCAT for program RFITEM_INC.
This is due to inconsistencies between table T021S (special fields) and structure RFPOSEXT.
System Response
During the processing of special fields in the line item list, errors and even a program termination may occur.
Procedure
Recreate the special fields in Customizing. If the error occurs again, contact SAP.
Can you pls check it out in your system if you can?

Ravi,
You cant change the Technical name of the cube but you can change the description of the Cube. If you want to have a Cube with the same properties and with different Techname and Description better you do copy from the base cube and rename as per your requirement.

Alert description and short text

Hi Masters,
I configured BPM alerts in my scenario with alert category define in ALRTCATDEF and I have selected dynamic test. I am getting the alert and long text as I given in BPM alert message that is good. But in my alert, message description and Short text is displaying as ' Process <xxxxxxx>'.
So can I get the same message as long text in messsage description and short text and how to change the description.
Please help me to find out the soultion for this

Can I Change Home Name and Short Name This Way (Safely)?

Tried this question a couple weeks ago and got 0 replies in the Admin/Accounts section, so I'm revising and trying here. Please help!
Let me see if I can make this simple.
Small office environment; 2 Mac (G4's); Airport network. I am admin on both computers. My employee is admin on his computer as well, but not on mine. Each of us has data we use on our own computer but we can access data from the other computer when necessary. We use the same password to login (just for simplicity). My user name is "Joe Smith" and my assistant's is "Bob Lee Brown." His short name is "blb".
My assistant is moving out of town and I'm hiring someone else. I'd like to set up a new user with that person's name ("Jane Jones"). I'd like the entire "Bob Lee Brown" and "blb" off the computer, and have that replaced by "Jane Jones" and "jj" (for a short name) everywhere, for the new assistant. I want to make sure we're still 100% networked when I get done, and that I can still admin both accounts but my new assistant can't admin my computer. In other words, I'd like a clone of what I have now, only with the names changed everywhere.
So - here's the question (in multi-part format):
Should I create a new Admin account on the assistnat's computer, log in as that one and delete the existing one, saving the user prefernces from the deleted user?
In this event, could i take the deleted user file that's saved and import back in all the user preferences - particularly for Word and Entourage?
If this is the right way to go, what would I have to do on my computer to complete the network process? Any keychain issues I'd have to deal with (what and how?)?
Or, should I use ChangeShortName v1.2 (which I've read about in other posts)? Is that safe?
Or should I just tell my new assistant that she's stuck with a he's name and leave well enough alone?
Thanks - been on Macs since 1984, but never had to do this one before and I'm a little concerned I might mess something up without some step-by-step instructions!

I have used ChangeShortName once and it worked fine; a real timesaver. However, I would backup the /Users folder (or the whole drive) and repair permissions first to be on the safe side.

Make appear technical name and name of a query in separates columns

Hello everybody,
I have a question about menus of the Bex explorer (but maybe it's related to any menus of SAP).
I would like to show the technical name of a query or a workbook in a single column, something like :
Technical name | Name of the query/workbook | Last modification
For now, I can only the technical name or the name (or both side by side) but I can't have three separated columns.
Is there any mean you know to do this ?

When I speak about the bex, I mean when you click on the icon to open a query/workbook, you see all of them inside a window.

CL_SALV_TREE not displaying medium and short text

It looks like a Bug. This method COMPLETE_METADATA_TREE of the class CL_SALV_CONTROLLER_METADATA is responsible for setting up the column headings. The code lines in the methods are:
field-symbols: <fcat> type LVC_s_FCAT.
loop at t_fieldcatalog assigning <fcat>.
    if not <fcat>-scrtext_s is initial.
      <fcat>-coltext = <fcat>-scrtext_s.
    elseif not <fcat>-scrtext_m is initial.
      <fcat>-coltext = <fcat>-scrtext_m.
    elseif not <fcat>-scrtext_l is initial.
      <fcat>-coltext = <fcat>-scrtext_l.
    endif.
    <fcat>-seltext = <fcat>-coltext.
endloop.
So the work around would be, you set all of the other heading text to blank. Like if you want the Medium text, set Short text as blank. If you want the long text, set both Short and Medium text to blank.
* Will generate column heading from Long Text.
lr_column = ir_columns->get_column( 'CONNID' ).
lr_column->set_short_text( '' ).
lr_column->set_medium_text( '' ).

Add date to new text file name and generic text in body

Okay, I hope this is the right forum. To help manage and keep track of incoming assets/files and I created an Automator workflow with the following: "Get Selected Finder Items → Get Folder Contents → New Text File (w/Show this action when the workflow runs so I can give a unique name).
This creates a text file with the folder contents listed in the body.
I would like to know if I can do two things:
1. Automatically add a date/time stamp to the Save as field so it will automatically have a unique file name?
2. I also want to add text before the listed contents within the text file. (e.g.: Let's say the folder contents are Volumes/Mac HD/Generic_movie.mov. I want the final text to read:
"The following file has been moved to the local volume at: Volumes/Mac HD/Generic_movie.mov"
Is there a way to accomplish either one or both of these with Automator or AppleScripts?

*3) New Text File* -- select a destination folder and check *Show Action When Run*
*4) Rename Finder Items:*
Choose *Add Date or Time* from the popup
Date/Time: select Created, Modified, or Current - Format: *Month Day Year*
Where: *After name* - Separator: *Forward Slash*
Separator: Space - check *Use Leading Zeros* (optional)
*5) Rename Finder Items:*
Choose *Add Text* from the popup
Add: *" at"* -- put a leading space before "at" (without the quotes), and select *after name*.
*6) Rename Finder Items:*
Choose *Add Date or Time*
Date/Time: Current - Format: *Hour Minute Second*
Where: *After name* - Separator: Dash
Separator: Space - check *Use Leading Zeros* (strongly recommended)

Save the workflow as an application and use it as a droplet. Drop a desired folder onto the saved applet and enter a name when the dialog appears. The new text file, which will be found in the destination folder, should be appended with a date and time stamp, e.g., *"My Folder List 7/8/2010 at 23-54-09"*
Tested using Mac OS 10.4.11 and Automator v. 1.0.5

Photoshop Automation Plug-in - Getting non western characters from layer names and layer text

Hi To all members of the forum.
My name is Momir Zecevic and i have developed automation plugin for Photoshop and it work well for almost 8 years now (Windows XP, Vista, 8, Visual studio 97 and Photoshop 7 SDK). However client for which I have written plugin wants me to add possibility for new version so that plug-in can read international characters from text layers (Russian , French German etc) as well as layer names if they have international characters in it.
I have tried but seems that I am missing something obvious
Here is example what I get from getter

The main tables that you need for this development is CDHDR and CDPOS. Pass the value 'MATERIAL' in CDHDR-OBJECCLAS then if it returns any lines then the OBJECTID has the material number. The main standard report has header and line items, the header contains Material(CDHDR-OBJECTID), Changed by(CDHDR-USERNAME), Date (CDHDR-UDATE), Time (CDHDR_UTIME). And the line items are coming from CDPOS table. The values is depending on the fields which we modified earlier. If any change occurs in WERKS then the field discription is like Plant data and its purely depend on fields which are modified earlier for a particular material. You just check what are the possible fields that can displayed in this tcode based on that you can write your code.For my understanding if any changes occured in field WERKS then its related to Plant, in BWTAR its valuation type, in VKORG then Sales organization, in VTWEG then Distribution channel, in LGNUM then Warehouse number, in LGTYP then storage type. All these fields are coming from CDPOS-fieldname. And also you can get the old and new values from cdpos and need to display it in output list.

Ie: QMMA, QMSM, QMUR are QMUR tables codes But I don't know the table of the Short text for this codes

Only short text on hiearchy variable

Hi guys,
we made a technical upgrade vom BW 3.5 to BI 7.0.
When I now open a query with a variable on a hierarchy, I only get the technical name and the short description of the hierarchy .
But I need the middle text, because only this one is usable.
Any idea what´s wrong now?

in the query, there´s the text and the medium text and the character also shows text and medium text.
After executing the query, i can set a filter on the hierarchy and there, the long text is displayed.
Any other idea?
There are a lot of posts about this topic, but no solution ...
