Technical Pre-reqs for running PPDS heuristics

Folks -
Can somebody please let me know if we have to go through some technical setup for PPDS heuristics (standard lot heuristics or campaigh heuristics)to run?
For example, to be able to run CTM, we need to set up the CTM server or for SNP or PPDS optimizer, we need to set up the optimization server..
DO PPDS heuristics need any such setup?
Appreciate your help.
Thanks
Varun

No - there is nothing special to be setup at the Hardware or Server level for running PPDS Heuristics.
PPDS Heuristics run on Master Data - Product Master and Source of Supply (PPM/PDS and Resources for In-house produced items and Transportation Lanes for externally procured items).
CTM uses Optimiser Engine hence separate setup is required.

  • Pre-requisites for running oracle forms 11G

What are the pre-requisits for running Oracle forms 11G?

    Ok - where to begin?
    From the beginning....
<blockquote>1. There are prerequisites for nearly every Oracle product. If you have not read the Installation Guide and Systems Requirements Guide you likely are missing something. Docs are [URL http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24269_01/index.htm]here
    2. If you followed the installation guide and completed the installation without error, the basic product works out of the box without any configuration changes. Don't start tweaking unless you understand the change.
    3. In order to use an application server of any kind, you need to ensure it is running.
    4. If you have chosen the "Development" installation type (applies to 11.1.2 only) then you will not have an HTTP Server and it is not needed. Your listener will be the WLS managed server (usually port 9001).
    5. If you have chosed the "Deployment" installation type then you will have HTTP Server. You can access your Forms application via the HTTP Server Listen port (usually 8888) or the WLS_FORMS port.</blockquote>
To the issue that started this post... "+*Page cannot be displayed*+"
This error is either caused as a result of there being no listener running, specifically the HTTP Server or the wrong URL was entered in the browser, or the hostname used in the URL does not map to the correct machine where the listener is running. If you have installed and are testing on your local machine and that machine does not have a static IP address and/or a DNS registered name then fixing these issues would be a few of those "prerequisite" steps I mentioned. This is documented here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/html/E18558_01/fusion_requirements.htm#BABFHBID
The above configuration needs to be completed before the installation is started.
To the next issue or change in error message: "+*Failure of server APACHE bridge: No backend server available for connection...*+"
This means that HTTP Server (specifically mod_wls) is unable to contact WLS_FORMS. This could be because WLS_FORMS is not running or because of those prereq steps noted above or a variety of other things related to not following the instructions. Refer to MyOracleSupport Note 1304095.1 for more details about this error.
Finally, as for the need for a JRE, you can do this either before you attempt to run a form or allow the autoinstall feature of the browser perform the installation. However, as Craig mentioned, you would be better off installing the latest version which is 1.6.0_33. You can change your configuration to automatically do this, but if you are new to FusionMiddleware and/or Forms doing the JRE installation manually at this point is probably a good idea. I also recommend starting with Internet Explorer because likely some config changes will be necessary to get it working.
As I mentioned, for the most part, the installation should work out of the box without changes. I would recommend getting the default form (test.fmx) running before attempting to make too many changes.
(If you chose the Deployment install type) http://youMachine:8888/forms/frmservlet?form=test
(If you chose the Development install type) http://youMachine:9001/forms/frmservlet?form=test

  • Clustering Pre-reqs for sql 2012 always on availability group

    Hello,
I'm currently in the planning stages of building a sql 2012 alwaysON cluster on Windows server 2012. I'm a bit confused with some of the requirements.
Does  windows 2012 clustering require a heartbeat network as well a nic that communicates with the domain?
For a 2 node 2012 always on sql cluster which type of cluster should I use? node majority? node majority plus fileshare?
    thanks!

I found this information regarding SQL 2014. This could be helpful
"We strongly recommend that you use the same network links for communications between WSFC cluster members and communications
between availability replicas. Using separate network links can cause unexpected behaviors if some of links fail (even intermittently).
For example, for an availability group to support automatic failover, the secondary replica that is the automatic-failover partner must be in the SYNCHRONIZED state. If the network link to this secondary replica fails (even intermittently), the replica enters
the UNSYNCHRONIZED state and cannot begin to resynchronize until the link is restored. If the WSFC cluster requests an automatic failover while the secondary replica is unsynchronized, automatic failover will not occur."

  • Is Oracle server installation a pre-req for installing IFS 1.1 on NT?

I have Oracle 8.1.7 server installed on a
solaris box. I want to install IFS 1.1 on
my NT. I did a Oracle 8.1.7 client install
and proceded with the iFS 1.1 installation.
Looks like iFS 1.1 installer on NT needs
Oracle HTTPD server to be running. This
HTTPD server seems to be packaged only
with the Oracle server installer and not
    the client installer.
    null

You're right. But you don't have to install the whole Oracle server on the machine where you want to install iFS. Just start the server installation, go to a custom install, and deselect everything except the Oracle HTTP Server component. That's all iFS needs on the middle tier machine (where you installed the Oracle client).

  • MASTER LEGISLATIVE HRGLOBAL PRE-REQ LIST doesn't have R12.HR_PF.B.1

    Hi Friends,
I am using R12.1.1 with HRMS Patch level : R12.HR_PF.B.1 (which is R12.HR_PF.B.delta1 i believe)
I would like to apply Singapore Legislation so when i look at the MASTER LEGISLATIVE HRGLOBAL PRE-REQ LIST (Latest Oracle HRMS Legislative Data Patch Available (HR Global / hrglobal) [ID 145837.1])
I couldn't see either R12.1.1 (or) R12.HR_PF.B.1 and i could see only the later versions (R12.1.2,R12.1.3,R12.HR_PF.B.delta2,R12.HR_PF.B.delta3,R12.HR_PF.B.delta4,R12.HR_PF.B.delta5)
so do this mean i don't need to apply any Pre-Req patches for my current release/HRMS level and I can proceed with Data Install and apply hrgobal.drv?
    Please confirm.

    DBHi,
yes, you are right. this is because R12.1.1 comes with the installation. And you can not apply any pre-req before installing R12.1.1
All the patches listed in the table for pre-req are for the RUP patches which you will apply later. For example before applying RUP3 for HR you will apply 12757980 as a pre-req for Singapore.

  • Problems installing AIA 2.5 Foundation Pack pre-reqs on SOA 10g

I am involved in a very large AIA project. I am creating my own environment prior to go to the customer and I have found some issues while installing the pre-reqs for the Foundation Pack on top of Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 (MLR #8) using OC4J.
I am following the attached doc, in specific these lines:
Oracle SOA Suite 10 g Release 3 (10.1.3.4 + MLR#8 or later). Use Advanced Installation option and select J2EE, the web server, and Oracle SOA Suite.
This version of AIA is tested and certified on 10.1.3.4 MLR#8 (Patch 8372150). You need to apply these additional patches over MLR#8:
    * 5507491
    * 7692665
    * 8533397
Note: Before you apply patch 8533397, perfrom the following tasks.
    1. Download OUI 10.1.0.6.0 (patch 6640838) and install it on the Oracle home with all components listed on screen.
    2. Download latest 10.1 Opatch (Patch 6880880) and install it on the Oracle home.
    * 8644645
I was able to install MLR#8, and then 5507491,7692665. I also did the pre-reqs for 8533397. But when trying to install 8533397, I got the following:

    Hi Walter:
    how r u?
Basically the issue is related when u apply patch 6640838 to upgrade OUI. If u don't do the following, u get into the error u described in ur post:
    1. Before u install patch #6640838 , u need to be sure to rename the OPatch directory under $ORACLE_HOME. Once u do that, u can proceed with the application of patch 6640838.
    2. Then after applying it u can download patch 6880880, in order to have the latest OPatch version (1.0.0.0.63). In this step, u just need to unzip it, and u will have a new OPatch directory under $ORACLE_HOME
    3. After that, u can go and do an "opatch apply" for patches 8533397 and 8644645.
And that's it, u will get rid of that messy problem.
I ran into the same issue, but just realized the step that was causing all the problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle Service Bus Pre-Req

    Hi,
Is SOA 11g installation Pre-req for OSB 11g on top of Weblogic 10.3.3. As per OSB 10gR3 we could install OSB with out SOA installation on Weblogic 10gR3.
    Thanks,

    Hi
the soa installation isn't a prereq for the osb installation
at minimum you just need the wls installation.

  • Warning while running pre-req checks for installing 11g binaries

I am trying to install 11g binaries on my box for upgrading my production db from 10.2.0.4 to 11.1.0.7. I have dev and Prod running from the same box. I already upgraded my dev instance to 11g and its home is /opt/oracle/product/11.10/dev.
I created another path for production as /opt/oracle/product/11.1.0/prod so that I can install the 11g binaries for production in there. When I run the installer, the pre-req checks gives me two warnings -
    Checking PATH environment variable...
Check complete. The overall result of this check is: Failed <<<<
Problem: The installer has detected that the PATH environment variable includes other ORACLE_HOME locations in it.
Recommendation: Restart the installer after removing other ORACLE_HOME locations from PATH environment variable.
    ========================================================
    Checking LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable...
Check complete. The overall result of this check is: Failed <<<<
Problem: The installer has detected that environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH includes other ORACLE_HOME locations in it.
Recommendation: Restart the installer after removing other ORACLE_HOME locations from LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable.
I ran ther pre-req again after unsetting the PATH and HOME variable. But it still gives me a warning on the PATH variable. What should I do to avoid this warning?

If I were you, I would have defined the HOMEs as "/opt/oracle/product/dev/11.1.0" and "/opt/oracle/product/prod/11.1.0" - that would eliminate the errors you are facing. It is still not too late - you can install the prod binaries as "/opt/oracle/product/prod/11.1.0", then later on "clone" the OH from "/opt/oracle/product/11.1.0/dev" to "/opt/oracle/product/dev/11.1.0" and delete the former.
You could also simply clone "/opt/oracle/product/prod/11.1.0" from "/opt/oracle/product/11.1.0/dev" rather than running the the install/patching process all over again.

  • Pre req's for SAP MDM

    Hi,
I am working on j2EE technologies for past 2 years and planning to move to SAP MDM. Will it be easy to move to MDM(i understand there will be a learning curve, but still!)  or do I need to fulfill any pre req's to learn it. If so, what will be those?

    Hi,
if you are planning to become a MDM technical Consultant, then your experience in J2EE will prove very helpful. you can  easily explore and develop using Java API and web services.
If you have little bit of ABAP, XI and Enterprise Portal, that would be plus point. but it is not mandatory, you can learn MDM without having good knowledge of these.

  • Pre-requiste for costing run

    Hi
VERP, ROH are in BOM with S and price determination 3, FERT and HALB are also on Standard price.
I want to run costing run for semi-finished and finished materials in May 2010 in QA but May is not open.
I am going to maintain ROH prices via MR21 system response that prices could be maintained in period 4-2010.
I think if I maintained prices in 4-2010 then close the period 4 and open period 5, costing run will not pick the prices of ROH because these prices are not maintained in period 5. Material ledger is active.
Please advise pre-requisites for costing run in period 5-2010.
    thanks
    imdad

    Hi,
When you use actual costing in Material Ledger,a price must be
released before the first goods movement in the period.
    The sequence is as follows:
    1. calculate and mark ALL prices BEFORE MMPV
    2. run MMPV   to open the period
    3. run price release (CK42N, CK24, CKME)
To ensure a complete release of ALL prices, it exists the dynamic price
release. That means postings, which occur after step 2, but before
of total completion of step 3, will release prices dynamically. That
means, a price change document is automatically triggerd by and posted
    together with the goods movement.
For materials with Price determination control 3 this new price released price must
    remain during the period.

    MLM

Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit (PrE 11 will be running 64-bit as well)
    8GB of RAM
    1TB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive
I will be doing consumer-level editing with only AVCHD video. I do not need the power to run After Effects or anything like that, just Premiere Elements 11, 64-bit. I would like the program to be very fluent, smooth, and fast, but I do not need overkill, as I am only doing consumer-level laid-back AVCHD editing, keying, rendering, soundtrack mixing, etc.
Please let me know if these specs will allow me to smoothly run Adobe Premiere Elements 11 to fit my needs (nothing more, nothing less).
If something here is too much or needs to be upgraded, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

This looks like an excellent machine for editing AVCHD on, Mr. Filmeffects.
In fact, you could probably run After Effects on it too if you want to.
A second hard drive for your media and project files can always give you an added boost. But, with today's systems, it's not always necessary.
