Technical support told me that HBO doesn't work with TiVO

So I called technical support to activate my TiVO Premiere (cablecard) and he was successful in helping me activate and view my channels.  I currently subscribe to Fios Local, HBO and Showtime. The local channels and Showtime work, but HBO doesn't.  He told me, very unconfidently, that HBO doesn't work on Tivos, and that he's sorry for the inconvenience.  I have friends with TiVOs that work on Fios with HBO, and I've not experienced this problem stated ANYWHERE on the internet.  HBO should work. I asked him to validate my premium channels, and he insisted that HBO wouldn't work. The last time I had FIOS (January 2014) it did work.  What do I need to do to get HBO to work?

    Mail support has a wizard to test your settings too.
    Not sure what error or why you can't, maybe iCloud forum has better chance.

    I just purchased the rather expensive MPEG-2 plugin for Quicktime, only to find that it doesn't work with a .mpg I have on a SVCD. Apple support in Australia have bent over backwards to help without success - apparently it just "doesn't work". Customer relations in Australia have, by comparison, been extremely poor in addressing my complaint (ie, they won't provide a refund).
    I guess this is a warning to anyone who assumes the premium priced MPEG-2 plug-in for Quicktime will play what just about every other cheap downloadable MPEG2 player will.

    There should be no quality loss as longs as the ripped CD is in good shape...
    (XS)VCD disks have very little error correction -- that's why you can put as much as ~797.9 MB of MPEG2 data on a "80 minute CD" in (XS)VCD format, while you can put only ~703.1 MB if you treat the same CD as a regular data-CD. ...and audio-CDs use no error correction at all so you can put ~807.5 MB on an that CD if you treat it as an audio-CD!
    So a data-CD holds less stuff but it is more reliable to get a bit-for-bit copy back from it.
    So: if the (XS)VCD or audio-CD has a small defect and you rip it, then the application must sometimes guess and make the ripped data out of thin air. Luckily the human ear/eye don't usually notice any quality loss, though.

    I have an Agilent GPIB interface board, but it seems that it doesn't work with NI-488 software. I would like to know if there's a way to use these board with LabView because if it's not recognize by NI-488 software I can not use it in an application with Labview

    As far as I know, NI-488 only works with NI's GPIB boards and other GPIB Interfaces.
    I suggest getting an GPIB interface from NI. If you are looking for a cheap way to do this, try getting a USB-GPIB Interface. They are only $495. Also, ISA GPIB cards are only $395.
    Alternatively, try installing the GPIB interface software for the Agilent board, and communicating with it through LabVIEW. Agilent may have a driver for this.

  • Keyconfig doesn't work with FF 24.0. Is there a way?

    I have just completed rebuilding my PC from a hard disk format. In doing so, I loaded the latest FF 24.0.
    Part of my essential application was a script that used keyconfig to cause Easy Copy to send page source to the clipboard, where the script parses it. Unfortunately, keyconfig does not work with FF 24.0.
    The write-up for Easy Copy starts to explain how to make it act on a key combination, rather than on mouse action without using keycopy - but then says how it doesn't need to, because it's too much effort, and besides - keyconfig exists and does the job - which, I agree, it used to, very well - but it doesn't any more.
    What to do? If there is no other way, can I get a downgrade of FF that works with keyconfig?
    There is a new add-on, key config (note the space), but it doesn't do what keyconfig did.

    The first time I loaded it was through the FireFox Add-ons tool, so that was the natural mechanism to use to do it again. Even now, it is listed on the tool - but a notice comes up saying that it doesn't work with FF 24.0. Before getting help from you, I was on the point of downgrading FireFox to be able to use the add-on with an older version.
    Another solution to my problem (possibly a better one) would be if the writer of Easy Copy would give instructions for making a key combination to cause his add-on to respond to the keyboard without the intervention of keyconfig - hence only one add-on would be needed instead of two. He has made hotkeys for two of his functions - to copy the URL to scratchpad, for example, but there is no hotkey to copy the page source. I was going to suggest it on his web site, but it doesn't accept input.

    There is no such thing as an "unlock code" for an iPhone. It's done through iTunes after being approved by the carrier it is locked to.
    Go back to the carrier it is locked to and find out what the status is. If you paid someone else to unlock it, you got ripped off.

    We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple. We won't know what terms that iTunes Support think that you violated, but the most common reason is probably trying to use another country's store - you are in the same country as you have listed on your iTunes account ?

    What version of word do you have? The TS3938 sounds like it's a PowerPC app- written for an old architecture that is no longer supported in Lion. If this is the case, your files are fine- you just need a newer version of word that will run in Lion in order to open them. The newest version (2011) should be readily available anywhere, and has worked fine for me ever since I switched to Lion on release day....

    If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
    Otherwise*, boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
    When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
    from the menu bar.
    In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
    Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
    Press return. A Reset Password window opens.
    Select your boot volume if not already selected.
    Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
    Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
