Technical system creation problem in SLD

while i'm traying to create a technical system for Web As ABAP(ERP 2004 ECC 5.0) in SLD when I serch for Installed product no product with ECC 5.0 is found.
is there somthing missing ?

i think UR J2EE server patch level is SP9.
do u read the SLD configuration document carefully?
look at sap note 669669. and import the CR Content according to that. this solves ur issue.

Technical system definitions on multiple SLD servers in a SAP landscape

Hi,
If we want to migrate an SAP SLD server from Solution manager application to ECC application(s). In this process solution manager's SLD server data will be migrated into multiple servers at ECC environment(say for example, we define one SLD server for all development systems and one for Production systems).
Is it required to have all technical systems of SLD servers to be same? (I mean do we have to have all the technical systems defined on Dev SLD server to be available even at PRD SLD server?)

Hi,
Yes. If you configured some technical system which reports data to your DEV SLD. And you want same data should be replicated to PRD SLD then you can configure data bridge between DEV SLD and PRD SLD. Then your DEV SLD will replicates its data to PRD SLD.

Problem in Technical System Creation Wizard in Portal SLD

When I am trying to Create New Technical System for WEB AS ABAP, I am getting the following error at the Installed Production phase
in the Portal SLD
*CIM_ERR_FAILED: Unable to execute createInstance() request, exclusive write mode is enabled*

Thank you for spend your valuable time for my problem
But my main problem is, when i am going to http://hostname:portno/sld page,
all those are not in active mode. i mean when i am selecting any function it showing sld is not configured. please do sld configuration. sld and nwdi related users are also not there in user administration. I cant understand why sld is not configured.
coz sld is configured if , we select web as java component in installation time . i dont know web as java component is selected or not. but when i am going to http://hostname:portno/ irj/portal, it showing user , content , system administration tabs . and every thing is working fine.
IN case if i did not select web as java component in installation time, may be portal also should not be configured. But here i am able to access portal. but in case of sld , it is showing error message. what is hell with sld realted problem. Please give reply.

Technical system creation in SLD

Hi,
1. I have installed Netweaver sneak preview-java edition.
2. I am trying to create a new technical system for WebAS ABAP. We are on ECC 5.0 .
3. I have imported Cimsap.zip and content.zip successfully.
4. Now in the screen "Technical system wizard-software products and components" under "Available products" section i am not finding an entry fo ECC5.0. Here what system name should i select to proceed further.
Do i need to make any entry in host and services files, or anything else i have to do?

You will probably achieve the same result if you were to use SAP R/3 4.7 Try using it instead, see if it works. I think that it will.

Two entries for every technical system for XI in SLD

Hi,
Last weekend we had a patch upgrade in our Production env for SAP PI system.
After that we got the Cache error (Cache notification from Integration Directory failedError when accessing the System Landscape Directory) in RWB -- "Cache Connectivity Test -> IR -> ID -> Adapter Engines".
And
In SLD->Technical Systems->all (Adapter Engine, Integration Directory, Integration Repository, RWB).
e.g.:There are two Adapter Engines:
Adapter Engine on p80.p80xxxxx
and
Adapter Engine on p80.p80xxxxx\p80
Our Basis team contacted SAP for help & SAP has suggested as below.
"We compared the SLD->Technical Systems for QA (Q80) and PROD (P80), and found that for the production box (P80), each XI component is registered Twice.
Now as per the note 764176, we have to delete the entries in the SLD -> Technical Systems. And these will be re-created after a restart.
Could you please let us know whether these have been maintained for any special reason or we can go ahead and delete them."
If you have any idea if those two should be maintained or not, please suggest how to proceed.

Significansce of Installed Products while Technical System creation

hi gurus,
could you tell me what exactly Products mean while we creating Technical systems in System Landscape Directory?
What if we wrongly specified any product? (i.e. for a NetWeaver2004s if we select some other product what will be the effect?

Hi Nikhil,
Mentioning not exactly same software components description in SLD does not have a adverse effect, however please refrain from this practice since SLD serves as a central info storage and could be misleading for your team.

Technical Systems Not Reflected in SLD

Good day.
We are configuring administrative SLD as part of NWA setup in Solman dual stack as per Monitoring Setup Guide Netweaver 7.0 SPS 16. We have a separate productive SLD in XI.
As per the document, we need to have the data from XI forwarded to our Solman system. We have completed required settings in SLDAPICUST, RFC connections, JCO RFC Provider and SLD Data Supplier, added new data supplier bridge in XI pointing to our Solman system and afterwards, triggered data transfer from XI through RZ70 and SLD Data Supplier which is successful.
However, only the ABAP and Java stack of our solman gets reflected in our administrative SLD.
Via transaction SLDCHECK from ABAP, we're getting the following error:
Calling function EXCHANGE_PROFILE_GET_PARAMETER
Retrieving data from the XI Profile...
Function call returned exception code 3
Access to the XI Profile is currently disrupted.
From XI SLD logs, we have the following error:

Application System creation problem

Hi All !
We are using Designer 6.0 and Oracle 8.1.5
After successful login when we try to create Application System following
error message appears:
RME-00011: Operation 'INS' on ci_application_systems has failed
When we try see the Cause/Action, we find following:
// Cause: An API operation request has been failed for some reason
// Action: Examine other reported errors for specific details.
It is to be noted that we don't get any other error message and we can not
move forward without creation of application system.

System Creation problem in EP

Hi All,
I am trying to create a system to connect my portal to the R/3 backend to execute business package.
All the entries goes well like system name,system alias,ITS nae etc.
When I click the personalize link to map my user id for the sytem created it is throwing the following error :-
There is a configuration issue which leads to problems when accessing user mapping data for the selected backend system <system name>. Contact your system administrator.
I am doing it on EP6.0 on SP14.Am I missing something.The same error comes for every user.
Also I did the same thing in Sneak preview version it was working fine and i was able to connect to the R/3 backend.
Also when I go to Useradministration -> User mappping I am not finding any default systems under Logon data drop down.I am wondering why?

goto system administration -> system configuration -> UM configuration -> Direct Editing
and find the following
ume.usermapping.unsecure=FALSE
change it to
ume.usermapping.unsecure=TRUE
save changes and restart portal server
then u can use UM after creating System do not forgot to assign the permission for System to Everyone group

SLD-Bridge / Data Supplier Bridge and new technical systems

Hi,
The data supplier (data collection process) periodically sends data to the SLD bridge. This SLD bridge provides this information to the SLD.
My question: Will new technical systems be created(!) and updated automatically in the SLD by using SLD bridge??
Or do I have to create new technical systems allways manually by SLD browser??

How about the "creation" process of technical systems??
I am confused of the idea of the SLD bridge. The idea sounds great to me, but how is the link between the technical systems and all these collected data passed to the SLD realized??
The online documentation is not very helpful...

Buisness system can not find the relevant technical system in xi sld

I set up r3 business system and technical system landscape in xi SLD, somehow the business system cannot find the relevant system landscape, does anybody have any suggestions what's possiblly goes wrong in my sld setting or how should I debug?

As far as I know, these are systems which can run as standalone apps. I have never used it though.

Technical System of Web AS ABAP

hi all,
i have following doubts when creating technical system of web as ABAP type.
1)when creating techincal system it is asking me for
' Message Port (sapmsXXX): '. what should i enter for this field and wheredo i get the details from. by default it is taking 3600 is it ok if i go ahead with 3600.
2) logical system name .it appears it is optional but should i fill this entry as well.
3) After creating the technical system. do i need to fill TMS Domain and TMS Transport Group Name. if yes how do i need to fill and and what is the use of this field.
can some one suggest me a blog for Technical System creation for web as abap type.
