Technical System Type

Hi all,
I would like to know information about Technical system. When I am creating new technical system it asks to enter the technical system type. Till now I have used Technical system type is third party. What my question is, if I used the adapters like IDOC, HTTP then May I change the technical system type? Can any body explain clearly when we use different technical system types in our scenario?

For XI you need to create (technial system)
1) Web AS ABAP 2) WEB as JAVA
For r3
1) Web AS ABAP
and 1) Web AS ABAP business system

Hi all,

"Third-Party" and "Standalone Java"
Please give also one example for a standalon java type.

Hi Kris,
1. Third Party: Can be any Tech System. For example you want to send a xml message from a file adapter residing on your PC. You can define your PC as a 3rd party Tech/Business System.
2. StandAlone Java: WEBAS640 has bot Basis and Java Stacks. If you installed only the standalone java Stack on a server, then you define a standalone java tech system.

SLD - Technical System Type Exchange Infrastructure

Hi experts,
does anybody know how these Entries in the SLD appear?
Technical System Type: Exchange Infrastructure
Adapter Engine
Adapter Framework
Domain
Integration Directory
Integration Repository
Integration Server
RWB
Runtime Management Server
are they generated automatically? at which time? whats the trigger for them to appear?
Or are they inserted manually?

If technical system type is Exchange Infrastructure.

Hi,
In sld,when my technical system type is Exchange Infrastructure,there are 3 elements:adapter engine ,domain and integration server.But i know the right result is 6 elements,so other 3 elements are:integration repositary ,integration directory and rwb.Can you tell me how to add them?

Apply note 764176, it may help you. It helps you to get all the components self-registered in the SLD.

Can i use technical system type 'third party' for r3 system in idoc2file sc

Hi,
i am doing a sample out bound scenario (idoc 2 file), distributing idoc from sap system to csv file (in same network). in this can i use thchnical system type 'third party' for R3 system. will the scenario work properly or not.
And some times some of the business systems in SLD are not visible in ID, when assigning business system in ID.can any one tell reason for this.
can any one suggest me,........ Thanks in advance & would be appreciated.

--- No u can't use this...Ur technical system must be "WebAS ABAP" only. For file system you use 3rd party system. means ur technical system like follows.

R/3 -- WebAs ABAP
Receiver
File - 3 rd pary system

Click "Clear SLD cache" repeatly for some time in ID, it will come.

Technical System Types

Hi Experts,
When I creating the Technical System we are having the options like
1.Web As ABAP
2. Web AS Java
3. Standalone Java
4. Third Party.
I want to know the difference between Web As Java and Stand Alone Java? Which one is used in which scenario.
Please can u explain the differences.?

Hi Sridhar,
      Adding to the above information...
1) Web As ABAP: Used to when you wan to communicate with any SAP System.
2) Web As java: Used to communicate any Java System which are under in SAP Netweaver(WAS).
       when you want to communicate a EP(Enterprise Portal) you can use Web as JAVA in this case you cannot use standalone java.
3) Standalonejava:Used to communicate normal any java application.
4) Thirdparty: using third party even you can communicate any EAI tools also.
   Let's say you wan to commnicate with webmethods in such scenario you can use Technical System as Thirdparty.

System type for technical system.

Hi All,
I want to create a new technical system for my receiver sys. The receiver is the PI .
so its SAP->XI->XI Interface.
Can anybady explain what will be the System Type for receiver PI.(web as abap or ...etc)
Also pls explain the diffrent system types.

Technical system for PI is of type Web As ABAP (because PI is also a product of SAP)
Other technical system types:
Web as ABAP -
> For SAP applications.
Web as JAVA -
> Web AS Java systems consist of one or more instances and each instance is installed
on a separate host. An instance itself consists of cluster nodes that can
communicate with each other.For Enterprise java applications on J2EE stack.
Third party -
> For People soft, BAAN, JDEdwords, ...........

PI7.0: SLD - Technical System of type "Exchange Infrastructure"

Hi Guys,
The adapter engine was empty in the integration directory and as part of it i followed the steps in the sap note - 764176 Error in XI due to inconsistency in the sld. I did the following steps
1. Switch to "Home" in the "Technical Landscape" view, and select the
"Exchange Infrastructure" technical system type there. Select all
domains and XI components for the host and delete these by selecting
them and pressing 'Remove'.
2. Restart the J2EE server. After you restart the server, the XI
components log on to the SLD again and create a new entity of class
"XI Integration Server".
3. To register the directory and repository again, you must also log on
to the two tools.
I have restarted the j2ee server and looged into the IR and ID but they are not automatically registered in the central sld.
central sld is on solmanger box. How to register IR, ID, RWB and central adapter engine under the technical systems of type exchange infrastructure ?
any help would be really appreciated

In my case the Business system for XI was created of type web as java... but it should be of type web as abap.

Where 's the type of System Landscape Directory in Technical System ?

Hi experts:
when I configured the name server, I create a Technical System in sld which type should be System Landscape Directory . But this time i faced urgent problem, i can not find the type of System Landscape Directory in the Technical System Type!!
The valid type of Technical System are Web AS Java ,Web AS ABAP,Standalone,Third-Party. where's my System Landscape Directory type ????
abap and java engine installed in one server, and one system , XI also installed.
how can i solve this problem,how can i get back my System Landscape Directory type?

I think i solved my problem.
In Landscapes,I create a NWDI system , and a step is "Add systems to landscape" and there is a button named "New Hosted System" .Here ,I can create SLD system that I wanted.

it exist other technical system for this system of type third party,

Hi,
The problem is due to whatever technical system your are trying to create those details are already contain another technical system name in SLD. We can't create more then one technical system with same parameters. Better to use existing technical system or delete existing one create new one.

Doubt regarding creation of technical system.

Hi i am doing interface between R3 and JDBC(third party)
1)I have created one technical system(type as web as abap) for R3 and one technical system(type as third party) for JDBC.
2)but we usually download one software component in IR and we create namespace under downloaded software component(swc). we do create all objects for this interface is under this namespace.
3)when we create technical system it will ask us install product, let us say we assign a prodocut called xyzr3 for Tecnical syste(TS r3), under this we have assigned a software componet(swc) called xyzr3sw.
4) when we create technical system for third party it will ask us to installed product, should i create new product for this technical system or do i need to assign a product xyzr3 witch is already created for R3 TS(tecnical system)?
5)bcz we are using only one namespace for this interface whitch is created under xyzr3sw(sc of r3 ts, type as webase abap)
6) let us say , we have created new product and swc for third party TS, any way we are not importing this sw component in IR, bcz we have imported xyzr3sw(sc of product, ts of r3), so do i need to assign same product xyzr3(witchi is creted for R3) , xyzrsw (swc created for R3) to ts (ts of type thired party)? bcz we are importing only one swc in IR to develop the interface(one name space)

Yes. I think you should create new product here..

Yes. You do not need to import new software component version created for Third party.
But I'll suggest here..since you want to use JDBC on the receiver side...you can just create Business Service ( where you do not have to specify technical details) and you can used as a receiving system. No need to create 3rd party here..

Technical System - SLD

Hello,
I found that under the technical system type process Integration there is an entry of XI Integration Server but whereas in dev and quality there are 6 entries.
Below Types are not avialable in SLD technical system.
XI Domain
XI Integration Directory
XI Integration Repository
XI Runtime Management Serve
XI Adapter Framework

There should be 6 entries for each PI system in the SLD. If you are missing any, then as a first step you should apply note #764176 Manual correction of XI content in SLD.

I am creating a Business System in SLD(on Solution Manager) for XI system but not able to see any technical system from Integration tab of Business system.
I have already created a technical system in SLD.
Please suggest what other settings I need to check.

Hi,
Clear the cache and try again.
Go to Environment -
> Click on Clear SLD data cache.
If you still din't get then In the SLD goto technical system, in the dropdown box select your Technical system type(web as Java/....) and cleck on display, if it is there then it was created other wise it wasn't created.

SLD- Technical System Browser

Hi all,
When i go to the sld of my XI server and there inside technical landscape when i choose the technical system type as 'Exchange Infrastructure' number of application systems are displayed. I find tht there are application systems corressponding to Repository, Directory , RWB , IS and AE.
When are these entries getting added. I believe they are gettin created automatically but when. Is it at the time of installation.
Any kind of suggestion would be helpful
