  • Data flows and technical terms

    Hi all,
Anyone please give me SD data flow i.e what is sales order and when it will be generated and how it is linked with billing and delivery and what is invoice, cost centre, profit center, business area, wbs element etc.
And also the purchase data flow ie Purchase order purchase requisition, material document etc.
Provide me what exactly these mean in simple words.
I am new to BI and i am very confused with these technical  terms.
    Regards,
    Nishuv.

    Hi,
Cost centre & profit Centre Hierarchy:
you have to look at the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Profit Center Accounting, Master Data -> Create/Change/Display Hierarchy or something similar..with Transaction Code:KCH3 .
But if you want specfic one , need to build a specific hierarchy in R3 and load it in BW.
You can also build it directly in BW.
If it is product hierachy u have to generate the levels in R/3 side (using same transaction in SBIW), which activates PRODH1, PRODH2...etc.
SBIW or SAP reference IMG under General Logistics -> Master Material -> Material or Settings for Central Fields -> Sales-Relevant Data -> Define Product Hierarchies
    Please check this link for the detailed procedure to create hiearchy;

  • Course WUS581 - Technical Details of SAP CRM Web UI

I had the opportunity to attend 'WUS581 - Technical Details of SAP CRM Web UI' last month in Atlanta.  I understand it to have been the first time the course was offered in the US.
The course was great - here's a link to the official [description|https://training.sap.com/ca/en/course/wus581-wus581-tech-details-of-sap-crm-web-ui-classroom-095-us-en/] . I believe this was an adaptation of the material from the Deep Dive Series. I have to say, that it was pretty fast paced as well - you really need to keep up as much of the material built upon what was already taught.
The materials from the class are invaluable.  The labs were well done, and offered detailed solutions.  The labs were numerous, appropriate, and clean.  Most of the twenty exercises were cumulative.  I have since gone back to review some of the concepts, and the material stands well even outside of the classroom.
This course has given me a much better understanding of the bigger picture.  While I have not come from a CRM or BSP background, I have been working with webUI on a CRM 7.0 based SAP Custom Development Solution, [Fund Raising Management|http://www.sap.com/services/portfolio/customdev/brochures/index.epx] for about half a year.  So, I had at least been exposed to the workbench and some concepts over the previous six months.  This course really helped me tie some things together.
I just wanted to share my experience with the group...
    ...Mike

    Mike,
I'm curious to find out how did you find out that the course you took was scheduled. The reason why I'm asking is that I didn't even know that SAP even offered the course in the US, so I would have tried to attend myself if I found out about in advance.
Glad to see you recommended the course.  There isn't going to be much CRM related technical content at SAP Teched in Las Vegas this year,  however there may be at least one session attending (wink-wink), that's not listed yet.  I would still recommend that CRM development folks still attend teched, because there is plenty of great technical content that we can use regardless.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • Std Payment Terms in SAP

    Hi
Wat are all the std payment terms in SAP.

    Dear Vijay,
The payment terms are, simply the instruction(eg.,when to pay, how much % to pay) for the finance department to pay the vendor.

  • I started to download Maverick but then read that Word and Excel do not work  with Maverick.  I hit pause on the download. How do I stop the download.  In non technical terms please!

How do I stop the download of Maverick on my MacBookPro?  I started downloading then discovered that 2008 Word and Excel do not work  with Maverick. I have too many files in the 2008 version to upgrade them at this time.  I just need instructions in non technical terms to stop the Maverick download.

I did the same as Tapmr and have paused the "upgrade".  So am I to understand that the upgrade only downloads and will not automatically install it?  I am an extreme novice here, and cannot afford any issues after I upgrade/download.  I don't know how to make a clone copy as you suggested either.
I need assurance that if the upgrade is allowed to continue that I will be able to delete the upgrade downloaded and continue on as before with my regular system.

  • How to use Technical Term

    Hi,
I have a simple process that has few variables involved like budget, approval time limit, etc.. And i want to use these variables in the course of the business process, say for example, the budget value will be checked and if it is above a particular limit, i want to take some action. In this scenario, how will i represent the variables, budget, approval time limit in my process, and how do i use it..
Should i first define them as technical terms or kpi. once definition is done, how do i use them in the process. how do i give the condition to be used in a function block.
    Thanks,
    Vishnupriya

Technical terms are meant for informal information modeling.
    Typical usage involves:
    1. Modeling hierarchy of terms or information; for example, "Customer details" (a piece of information) consists of "Customer Name" and "Phone number".
    2. Modeling synonyms - to show how different departments use different words, terms or phrases to name the same piece of information; for example, "CID" is a synonym for "Customer Code".
    3. Modeling relationships between Technical Terms (informal pieces of information) and Clusters, Entities and Attributes (formal data).
KPIs are Key Performance Indicators and they are used to measure (on daily, weekly or monthly basis) how good or bad an organization is heading towards goals which were assumed to be reached.
Let's say the goal is "to get 40% of a market share within the next six months".
So, the organization defines KPI named "market share" and assumes target values for it at the end of each of these six months; e.g.,
    5% (1st month), 10% (2nd month), 17% (3rd), 26% (4th), 35% (5th) and 40% (6th month).
Then at the end of each month the real market share is measured and compared to assumed target values. If the real values are below assumed ones, some actions are should be taken to fix the situation.
According to a description of your problem, both technical terms or KPIs are not the proper choice for you.
Actually, in models at the business level you don't use precise values like $2000 of the budget limit, for example. You should use general statements like "Check budget value" (function in EPC or decision in BPMN) and then 2 paths "Below limit" and "Above limit".
The precise value ($2000 for example) should be use in models at the technical level (BPEL).
    Hope it helped. Best regards,
    Sergio

  • Technical difference between SAP enjoy transaction and Old transaction

Can some one detail out technical differences betwwen SAP enjoy transaction ( like ME21N) and normal old transaction( like ME21). Specially I want to know the difference between user exits for two transaction .

First the user exits will be the same, the reason is that you must get the same result whether you use the ME21 or the ME21N.   The difference is the UI, or user interface, the enjoy transaction leverages the new control framework which was introduced in 4.6.  These controls include  tree controls, alv grid controls, docking controls, picture controls, etc.  All which can be found in the ME21N.   The ME21 transaction uses the classic dynpro technology without using the control framework.

  • Technical Information of Sap Business One

    Hi,
i need some technical information about a possible installation of Sap Business One Package:
    - Can Sap B1 run on a Microsoft cluster composer of virtual machine VMWARE?
    - Can Sap B1 run on a machine with 64 bit technology?
    - Can client Sap B1 run on Citrix with gateway access?
If nobody can help me, tell me where I can post this question...
    Thank you
    Regards
    Marco

    Hi Marco,
This is not the right forum for that question (SAP Support - or the Implemantation Forum in the Channel Partner Solutiuon Network may suit better...), but anway:
    >- Can Sap B1 run on a Microsoft cluster composer of virtual machine VMWARE?
VMWare hasn't been released; it may work (and I heard about people using it ), but if a problem can actually be traced back being a VMWare issue - you are "alone"...
    >- Can Sap B1 run on a machine with 64 bit technology?
Yes, please check the "Supported Platforms" information for B1 in the Channel Partner Portal on SAP Service Marketplace!
    >- Can client Sap B1 run on Citrix with gateway access?
Not sue about "gateway access", but Citrix 4.0 (and 3.0) are officially supported.
You can find details at the same place as mentioned above (I don't have the link at hand, sorry).

    Frank

From the ABAP perspective, few differences are.
The WS_* function modules used in 4.6c has become obsolete from 4.7C. All the WS_* FMs have been replaced by GUI_* FMs.
(ii) Concept of Unicode is introduced.
(iii) Few tables have been modified in ECC6.0.
Tables TVARV & TTREX have been replaced by TVARVC & TTREXN respectively.
(iv) we have enhancement points and enhancement sections along with enhancemnts and BADI'S . and we can write the part of code in those points.
For functional differences please check out the following link:
    http://solutionbrowser.erp.sap.fmpmedia.com/
ECC->enterprise central component.ECC 6.0 is the advanced version.if we consider in technical point of view then i can give u one example.
In the new version we have enhancement points and enhancement sections along with enhancemnts and BADI'S.SAP has provided these ,so that without going for access keys we can write our code in the enhancement points along with Standard SAP code.So now SAP has provided more user friendly environment. Also a new DEBUGGER also arrived with the new version. Now we can see more things in the new er version of DEBUGGER.

  • Technical requirements for SAP E-rectruiment

    Hello,
    We are using 4.7 version.
We bought ECC 6.0 just a test server without portal facility  for practice. Now we require the portal access. Can anybody says that how we can get that from SAP, Our main purpose is to use E-recrutiment in Portal since we already have ECC 6.0. Now we would like to buy EP tool also, however we  need to give complete  technical requirements for E-recruitment tool implementations for approval.
    your information is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Nydia.

    Hi Velu -
E-Sourcing technical consultants will require SQL skills if you are developing custom reports. The E-Sourcing query and reporting tools utilize "annotated" SQL statements the result in a SQL query being executed against the relational database. It is also useful for the report developer to have skills specific to the DBMS being used (for example, Oracle skills) - often times, using DBMS specific SQL constructs can provide improved reporting.
E-Sourcing has a feature called "scripting" that allows custom business logic to be included in the application and executed at various "call-out" points. The scripting feature provided by E-Sourcing uses a technology called BeanShell (see www.beanshell.org for more details on this technology). Beanshell development really requires strong programming skills using Java, although some components of BeanShell may be more like JavaScript. Regardless, I recommend Java expertise for writing E-Sourcing scripts. Knowledge of HTML is not required.
The E-Sourcing workflow capabilities also utilize BeanShell, so if you plan to implement any workflows, you will also require such technical skills.
Many other features of E-Sourcing such as user interface customization can be done with less technical individuals. Programming is not required.
    Hope this is helpful.
    Regards,
    Rob
