Techno Home Design Challenge

Ok Here's a creative techno design challenge. I live in a three story house with two Mac laptops, three hard drives, two printers, a Trendnet wirelessG router, AirPort Express and Airport Extreme n. My office is on the second floor where the printer/scanner is now, the cable enters on the main floor beside the HD tv and a cabinet that can house a printer and hard drives. What is the optimum arrangement to have the freest access to the internet, hard drives & printers?
I would greatly appreciate suggestions on this.

Unfortunately building materials can wreak havoc with any wireless signal and therefore it is extremely difficult to predict a configuration which will be guaranteed to work for you. Take a look at KB 58543, AirPort: Potential sources of interference.
Ignoring RF interference...
Either your AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) or AirPort Express (AX) will need to be connected via Ethernet to the Trendnet router. Depending on how you want to run the Ethernet cable, it could be on a different floor than the Trendnet router.
The other Apple device can be placed on the other floor. The 2 Apple devices can be connected wirelessly using WDS.
If the printer/scanner uses a USB connection, it could be connected to either Apple device. Be aware that the scanning function will not be available if it is connected to the AX or AEBS via USB.
What do you mean by "...the freest access..."?

Apple allows apps to list themselves as "Free" if the initial download is free, even if the app has kid-oriented inducements for costly in-app purchases. The in-app purchases are almost always ridiculous, over-priced game accessories, of which your example of "1400 gems for $49.99" is right up there. It is way too caveat emptor for my taste, but each consumer can form their own opinion on that.
To Apple's credit, they have a good record of granting refunds providing you explain the extenuating circumstances (purchase by a minor) and only ask once. Contact iTunes Customer Service.
As roaminggnome notes, you need to place restrictions on the devices. The restrictions are off by default, so you need to take action to do this. See this document: iOS: Understanding Restrictions

TS1702 I purchased an app from iTunes home design by blue lotus. It doesn't work. This was the first app I actually purchased. Needless to say I am very disappointed and reluctant to purchase any further apps. Can you help?

I purchased my first app from the iTunes Store. Needless to say it was not a good experience. I purchased home design by blue lotus and it does nothing. It blinks on for a moment then shuts down. The response I received from apple was all sales final but you can contact the vendor. Does anyone know how to do that?

Go to itunes store where you bought it, find the app, look at the page, ti will have the link to the app maker

Credit card has been charged twice for the same product ( Home Design)

Dear Sir ,
upon reviewing my credit card statement , I have noticed that i have been charged twice for the same product which I am not even aware of , however I would apprcaite reviewing the cahrges and do the refund to my credit card
The DUPLICATE charges are against Home design : 49.99 USD
and another one for an application which is not downloaded ( The last driver )

Can anyone please recommend some home design or architectural design software that runs in Tiger? Everything out there seems to be Windows only. Any recommendations would be helpful and appreciated. Thank you.

Urgent Design Challenge

I would appreciate your feedback for this design challenge.
I have two tables: GROUP_TAB and ATTENDANCE_TAB. A GROUP_TAB has many ATTENDANCE_TAB records.
GROUP_TAB is the parent table, it consists of mbr_Key, mbr_name, and group_leader and the ATTENDANCE_TAB as the child table, consists of att_key, mbr_key,att_date, and attended(value are: Yes/No).
GROUP_TAB is populated once a year for each group. Each group has a leader. In designing the page for weekly meeting attendance for each group, I want to create a page that would display names of each member per group on the left side column of the page and display value for att_date and attended with a radiogroup for yes or No. on the right side. I want to also list these items by group. Every meeting date will have a new page all that the user will need to do is check Yes or No for each member on the Attended field. I have created a PL/SQL proc. to be executed by a button which a user will click. This proc will insert a new meeting date in the ATTENDANCE_TAB.att_date field behind the scene so that the user will not have to select date for each row. So what the user would do is just check Yes or NO in the attended field. And this action will update each row for each member in the ATTENDANCE_TAB table. Your help in how I can design this weekly attendance page in HTML DB will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Scott for your suggestion. I want to create a time reporting or attendance page. Can anyone give me a suggestion about how I can create it. The page I want to create would display the names of people in each group on the left hand column and display updatable column (a check box or radiogroup on the right side of each name). The attendance record would be taken once a week. I hope my question is a bit clearer.

Home Design Studio 15 limitations?

Just purchased and downloaded Home Design Studio 15. It will not allow me to save, print or export a design. All this for $149?

While you are waiting to hear back, installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo may help.
It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed, then try launcing the HDS app.
Apple's refund policy states, "All sales and rentals of products are final." iTUNES STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
But considering the price of the app, I don't think asking for a refund is out of line. At least try > Mac App Store - Contact Support

Downloaded Home Design Studio 15 and it won't open

I've downloaded Home Design Studio 15 from the App Store. It shows up as installed in my purchases in the App Store and in my Applications folder, but when I tried to open it, it flashes briefly on the dock and then disappears. The icon was on the dock when it first downloaded but it only bounced a few times before stopping. I've tried restarting my computer, opening it from the Application menu, looking in the content packages, but I don't know what to do. Should I get a refund and try download again or is there another solution?

Using Virtual PC to run Punch! Home Design Architectural Series?

Hi. Love my Mac, however I got a Christmas gift of some Home Design software which turns out to be a Windows only type deal...I would love to use it on my Mac and am considering the Virtual PC as a solution to do so.
I've read enough of the topics to see it may not work as well as I'd hope. Has anyone tried it before?
What would I need to consider before trying it?
(I searched and didn't see this topic here yet, but if I missed it, forgive..!)

Thanks O!P. I thought that might be the case...I don't think I'll even try VPC on my Powerbook.
Strangely, there is very little design soft like this available for Mac. If anyone knows differently, let me know! I guess we Mac users tend to be creative to the point of not needing to be handheld (like I need with this software) to do design work. There are Drafting progs and some CAD stuff, but those are pretty advanced (for me) and don't usually have the formats and tricks that this program has. I think there is a thread somewhere discussing that lack of Mac oriented design software here...
If I get the time, I'll send my request to the company to work up a Mac version, but I won't be holding my breath.

Punch Home Design Studio

I received an early Christmas present from my son and daughter in law, the subject Punch Home Design Studio software. I have been wishing for a low end cad package and this is what they came up with.
Before I break the seal and make it non-returnable, does anyone have experience with this package? Will it do what I want which is simple floor plans and layouts.
I should mention that this is a newly released package for Mac Universal so no need to operate in Windows.

Punch! Home Design Studio Pro for the MAC

Hi, I apologize if this post is in the wrong place, but it's the only place I could find to post it: Has anyone used the new "Punch! Home Design Studio Pro for the MAC". I understand it's more in-depth than Punch! Home Design Studio. My wife and I are looking to design our own home, or at least get the general wants and needs down before going to an architect and this program was recommended to me by another Mac user (although he actually never used the program). Any insight would be greatly appreciated into the Punch program or any other home design program for the Mac that may be available.

it seems like a pretty good program but i was wondering if anyone knows where i can find a demo or trial for it or if there are any videos or tutorial videos out there showing it off?

because of an incompatibility between it and your other
application) you may need to use other software. Perhaps try Fraps.
(It's often used to capture video games being played).

Win 7 64-bit, Intel 4600 graphics hangs when running Punch home design software

Punch Home and Landscape Pro V17.7 runs great on T500 Win 7 32-bit... all rendering is quick and accurate. This same design program opens, but hangs immediately when any attempt is made to modify the design.
I have posted to the Punch support site. When I called Tec, he said that my version would run on 32-bit or 64-bit machine.
It appears all program components are in the Programs (x86) directory and the Registry seems to have the proper paths and entries (beyond my level of expertise to modify.)
I also read the post regarding the latest Intel Iris 4600 driver on the Intel website, and I could follow this procedure to install the latest driver... but I would be DOWN if the driver did not work.
So, anyone have any ideas as to the proper steps to solve this issue?

I see. Unfortunately you can't install the generic Intel driver on Haswell systems without losing brightness control. (You can still try installing it using Device Manager > Have Disk.)
Which version of the driver are you running now?

HOME DESIGN

I am looking for an example or a link to a website that will help me in modeling a home in Java.
The home will consist of multiple floors, with each floor having multiple rooms. The rooms will be rectangular in dimension with length and breadth as the two attributes. I am interested in finding the covered area of the home, so that I can calculate the cost of architecture services rendered.
I know that I will need to design and implement the atleast four classes (i.e. Home, Floor, Room and Yard), as well determine the instance variables and their types for each class. I do not have alot of background with this, only basic Java and really could use some help or advice on this.

To begin with..
Start with an interface with attr like length, b,ht. Make an abstractBaseClass with this interface and anything else you might need like nos of window and door( to substract the area covered).. basically think object and build upwards.. build fast cos then you can take time to come back and correct your errors(repaint)...
and for any help we are around...:)
