Technology development/deployement strategy (in ASP model)

We're starting a new business and we have completed the 1st phase of the project!
The software we're creating will follow the ASP model (application server provider) and use VPD technics. The software applications will be accessed by internet from ISDN and ADSL lines.
We've completed the follow steps:
System Modeling
Design and Build Database Objects
Now we're will start do Design Applications and we are wondering if Jdev 9i would be a good solution (to make a Browser Look Application such as ORACLE SMALL BUSINESS)?
And does oracle forms server (9iAS) is a good scalable solution for this kind of business model ?

Almost undetectable. When I look at the legal section of my phone it shows a list of all the unauthorized 3rd party software "as is" copyright encrypted on the phone. This is the most basic way to legally steal software of any kind. Because of this legalality 3rd party ownership have total control of certain software correlated with hardware use including visualization technology, etc. most people luckily will never have this happen to them so it's unlikely many readers have not a clue of what I'm saying currently. Either way, without needing to obtain specific warranty of any kind "as is" copyright control makes system restores not a solution because the source code is not directly encrypted on the actual hardware device only a copy right notice must appear on the specific device 3rd party software validation making it extremely difficult for me to take control of the situation. Apple claims their iOS technology prevents this type copyright obstruction from being possible, however, according to my phone a new form of technology was used developed by Tom wu of Stanford university called the STANFORD SRP AUTHENTICATION TECHNOLOGY which uses Some form of cryptographic authentication system and uses quote "secure remote password" which seems to suceed in hacking iOS apple technology apple claims is not possible to jailbreak an unstolen phone or without the owners consent As well as loading the device with 3rd party copyright Notices to make all of this legalized. My phone shows atleast 30 pages worth of legalized 3rd party copyright permissions! Yesterday my apple care provider labeled me a jailbreaker and refused to look at my legal documented proof which completely blew my mind because it voides my apple care contract I spent 100 on. This employee did not take all factors into consideration and made quick assumptions as well as verbally speaking to me as I'm an automatic criminal. I left the store yesterday with no payed insurance help on a problem I had no control over and couldn't prevent, leaving with voided contracts. This is an apple users worst nightmare and I have spent days researching all of this like i am some kind of lawyer only to be able to use my phone the way it should and spent alot of money on. I can legally backup any claim I have just wrote above currently and have a large source of data collected to prove apple is wrong in voiding insurance support on this issue. The problem lies in apple avoiding and not wanting to believe their software can legally be obtained ot "hacked". Yet still labeled a jailbreaker basically.. What should I do????? Been to local apple store 3 times and rebooted my phone as well sprint service restore 4 times and spoke with reps twiice on the phone. Spoke with my phone provider who said apple has full control over these matters so they can't help me. My case is according to apple "still open"...Anyone else heard of this or of Stanford's office of technology licensing? Maybe I need to buy a blackberry again or just use a landline so I can stop being my own lawyer and focus on other productive areas in life instead of this horrible mess. Oracle database on ASP model - question

my orale 8i database is running on sun solaris and the whole
front end is an ASP model product.
for every customer we have separate schemas and the same set of
all database objects are there in every schema.
this is going well.
my questions is: instead of putting the same set of pl/sql
procedures & functions into every schemas. Is it possible to have
a centralized procedure & function and whenever invoked, it
should work on the invoked schema's tables.
any ideas would help.
(the reason i'm asking is, it is hard to maintain the version of

The second system with the Intel chipset will more than likely have the Intel USB3 chipset required for Kinect. As for GPU they are similar, but the i5 with DDR3 1600MHZ ram is a better option. Keep in mind, if you are doing anything in-depth for
3D, a laptop isn't the best options, but if you have to go mobile then you have to decide what is best for your requirements.

SQL Developer - problems with the Data Modeller part

Hi SQL Developer users,
I can open the Data Modeler pane, but I can't insert any object into the logical model or into the relational model. Any ideas about what I'm doing wrong? Do I need specific privileges to the database, or do I need to install SQL Developer in a different way?

I can't insert any object into the logical model or into the relational modelYou can drag tables from SQL Developer browser and drop them on relational model diagram. If you keep Ctrl key pressed then all child tables also will be imported and shown on diagram.

APEX application development with an existing data model

Dear all,
We - as a company - are trying to build an application in ApEx with an existing data model. The idea is that the data model that has all sorts of TAPIs and business rules defined is going to be re-used in an ApEx environment. I am actually wondering whether this is possible, wise, feasible. When I am building some simple pages on one specific table, which has approx. 35 fields, sometimes the triggers around that table fail. Before I am actually going to dive in to try and sort these problems I am wondering whether this use of a data model in an ApEx environment is wise.
I mean, when you build an ApEx application there are usually no triggers and TAPIs available. My logic is that the ApEx application can look after validation and stuff.
Does anybody experienced have anything smart and useful to say about this. Any feedback is appreciated.

Hey vik,
At my company we rarely use the standard APEX wizards because of multi-linguility (on data level) and error management issues.
We always create an API in PL/SQL and call the procedures for APEX making APEX the 'view' layer in a kind of model-view-controller architecture.
The main thing to keep in mind is maintainability, if you're working with an existing datamodel with an API that works it's probably best to just created forms and reports through APEX and then calling the appropriate pl/sql (packaged) procedure manually. We believe that this kind of architecture has the downside of being a little more work initially but it's much easier to maintain large projects through a self written API and take care of issues like error handling, logging and multi-linguility through a self written API.

Integrating different oracle products (SQL Developer [Data Modeller], JDeveloper, ...) on platforms like Eclipse, Netbeans, JDeveloper Framework is a really missing feature.
JDeveloper has a good approach for integrated Java and database development, but has not immediate benefits from from other development streams like SQL Developer.
On daily work we must use more than three different tools for most common task
- editing stored functions, procedures and packages with SQL-Developer (code formatter in Jdeveloper produces sometimes UNREADABLE code ( So we are using TOAD instead ). Why can't Jdeveloper use SQL-Developer formatting tools in bug fixed verrions from 1.5.5?
- database modelling with SQL Developer Data Modeler without PLSQL package support ???
- database development with JDeveloper, ADF and offline database model without capabilities for logical databse models
Please put them all together!

Forms 6i in an ASP deployment...

Hello:
Curious on someone out there using Developer Server Deployment in an ASP model? Does it work? Does it make sense to run a mid-large size app developed using Developer Forms to deploy as an ASP?
If some one running an ASP, could you give us any suggestions/information on what kind of servers, pipeline, clients you are using.

Forms made in 6i can generally be upgraded to 10gR2 (10.1.2.x) without too much hassle. With "Windows environment" I assume that you mean that your current 6i based application is running in Client/Server mode?
If so there are a few pit falls that you need to be aware o when moving from C/S to the Webf. There is no OLE support in v10. You must rewrite your code to use WebUtil, which can probably do the same thing your old code would do. This rewrite is almost always pretty straight forward if a tad labor intensive. Client side functionality (TEXT_IO for example) now executes on the app server which means that you will need to rewrite in WebUtil if you truly need it on the client (often there is not real need to do that).

A lot of problems with Oracle and ASP

Hi, i need to develop a system using ASP and Oracle. I should have started this about 3 weeks ago and I can't in any way connect these 2 technologies.
First, I tried through ODBC and it could not be done.
Next, I tried through OLEDB and when I thought that the problem was found...

These 2 lines seems to be correct, then I had the error "access to object denied", and I read in some forum that it was because some DLLs of %oracle_home%\bin were without permission. I scanned all of them, and gave full access. OK. Then, an error ASP 0177 (error accessing DLL library) appeared and I could not find solution over the Internet.
And the incredible part is that the error only happens as soon as I start the OS... the second time I try, the script stops and does not show any errors or results... the page keeps processing without an end.
Please, I can't find anyone that can help me... you are my last hope...

I agree with your suggestion about needing more documentation for APS.NET & Oracle connections. And so the next question is who knows where to find such docs? I've scoured the Oracle & MSDN sites, and have found nothing addressing these permission problems -- at least nothing that fixes the problem. See my recent postings about "access denied exceptions". I've been trying for several weeks to get it fixed, w/o success although I think I'm getting closer & just about to give the ASPNET user total control over EVERYTHING in the oracle home directory tree.

ASP to CFMX 7 Problem

I've just been given a new project which is to take an ASP
site and convert it to CF. Sounds easy enough...but I can't get the
CF variables to work/display. Here's what I've done so far:
1 - Copied all ASP and associated site files to a new
developer folder
2 - Created the site in DW using CF server technology
3 - Copied the index.asp page code into a new cfm page
4 - Deleted the ASP code in the index.cfm page and replaced
with the appropriate CF code
5 - Created the Application.cfm page and put all my
Application variables in there
6 - Put the necessary CF variables on the new CF pages
surrounded by <cfoutput>
While the header and footer information is called via the
<cfinclude> tag in the Application.cfm the APPLICATION
variables are displaying as regular text....it's almost as if the
site isn't registering that the index page is a .cfm even though
the page is index.cfm.
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have <cfoutput></cfoutput> tags around any
an all calls to the
application variables. Variables are only rendered if they
are inside
an <cfoutput> block.
If your <cfincludes...> are working then CF as been
properly configured.
But if the web server has not been completely configures
CFML pages
will not be properly rendered, but this is an all or nothing
proposition. If any ColdFusion code is working, then it all
should.
