Tecra A8-ez8313 Has No Sound
I have a Tecra A8-ez8313 that will not produce any audio output. The volume is not muted in Sounds and Audio Devices, I've tried all the different Speaker Settings under Sounds & Audio Devices and that didn't do anything. Also, under Device Manager I checked the audio drivers and they all report that they are working properly. Despite that, I did uninstall and reinstall the Realtek Audio Driver but that produced no results either. Finally, I don't think it's just the case that the internal speakers are broken because plugging in ear buds did not produce any sound either. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Does it have SP3? Open Windows About (winver.exe) and look for the service-pack level.
Maybe a conflict.
1. What happens when you start in Safe Mode (the first option)?
2. What happens when you log into another account? Create one, if necessary.

My 4s has no sound on most of the outgoing calls i make. It will ring the other phone I am calling but I cannot hear it nor can they hear me when they answer. Its just dead air but my phone timer is in use. How can this be corrected?
It's very possible that you have stuff running in the background that you don't even realize you have running. For example the default is for all notifications to be on and you usually need few to none of them.
That said, while an iPad can run warm, too hot to handle isn't right. ALso you should get about 10 hours....depending on what you're doing of course. If you're doing processor intensive stuff, like gaming and videos it can drain faster and generate more heat.
I would say if you have an apple store near by, make an appointment and have them check it out. If the issue is due to what they determine to be manufacturer's defects then it could fall under the warranty. But that's up to the store to determine. -

My iphone no longer has any sound at all through the speakers or the headphone. I can't hear ring tones, any tones, music, videos, use of the speaker phone during phone calls, nothing. This phone is only 2 months old and I just did a software upgrade and that didn't help.
i have a macbook so sometimes this happens to it as well. what i found to help a lot is if you stick a sewing needle into the headphone jack. similar to the macbook, i feel like the connection thinks it's still plugged into something (notice that when you're adjusting the volume it says volume (headphones) not just ringer). unlocked, and while adjusting the volume, probe around with a needle, pushing it as close to the center all the way in. you may have to do this a few times. the first time i did it it worked, but went back in a few seconds. i did it again and it worked!

This happened to me too, so I took it to the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store. They said it was coincedental and the speaker needed to be replaced. They did so and the problem was solved!

Brand new iMac 27 has no sound
A buddy just got a brand new iMac 27, out the box last night. It has no sound.
He went to Systems Preferences and the Sound page provides no solution. Nothing can be clicked.
I know the solution is probably insanely simple, but cannot figure it out.
Help please.The simple solution is take it back to Apple and ask them to fix it.

I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 and after i disassembled and reassembled it to clean the fan, the lap top has no sound. In the device manager an error on ''PCI bus9, Device 9, function 2 & 3'' was appeared but after i installed new drivers the errors was fixed and it was written that the device was working properly. but unfortunately the device is not working properly because i stills have no sound. I also disassembled and reassembled for second time to find out if the problem was minor like an unplugged cable but everything was completely fine. Operation system: Windows 7 64 bit. Also the animation of the bell with a sound bar underneath is not working properly. Sometimes it pops up with the bar under the bell and sometimes the bar is missing and just the square with the bell is all you see. The side sound buttons are still functioning, just an animation glitch. When head phones are plugged in there is no change in the strange sounds going in and out. Videos are the worst and not only do they not play sound but thy also pause themselves??? The typing has intermittent sound. I have hard reset and rebooted my phone about 8 or 10 times with only temporary relief. I connected to iTunes and toatlly reset everything once, still no change??
Are you connected to wifi?
If you can't do it on the phone, you can most certainly do it via itunes. -
When I take my phone off charge in the morning I get an info box on the front which has the sound trumpet icon with a line through it and the word Mute. The only way to get rid of it is to reboot the phone any ideas as to how I can stop this happening?
Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.
Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time. -
I just bought 15' Mac book pro. as i work a lot on Garageband. I even downloaded all the drummers and loops to update the new Garageband 10.0.1
now my problem is that all my past work which i did on older version on GB, has missing sounds in it. so here are my questions
1. DO i have to install JAMPACKS on my new Macbook pro?
2. Are JAMPACKS still compatable with the new GB?
3. There is an UPDATE on the new GB on Appstore and once i click it, it goes to billing no detail is provided what this update is for so help!

Do you still have your old Mac?
How did you migrate from the old Mac to the new Mac? Did you transfer your old software and documents using Setup Assistant? Then your old GarageBand '11 version should have been migrated, and all your instruments.
if you did not migrate GarageBand '11, copy your old Instruments Library and Loop Library over from the old mac. Copy the following folders to a thumbsdrive and merge the missing dontents into the corresponding folders on your new mac: (from the system library - the top level library folder on your Macintosh HD):
/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/
/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/
And if you would like to continue to use GarageBand '11 for access to missing features, copy also /Applications/GarageBand over, but to a subfolder of Applications. I recommend, to install the old GarageBand as well. It can be used in parallel to GB 10.0, and will come in handy, if your old projects are having problems.

The JamPacks are nice to have, a terrific collection of instruments and loops, but if you did not have them previously, that will not help with your missing instruments. You can instll them by buying Mainstage 3. They work well with GarageBand 10.0

My iphone has no sound. My incoming calls can't be heard, the keyboard, music....nothing. I tried every suggestion that has been posted. I removed the SIM card and put it back. Powered the phone on and off. Pushed the volume up and down buttons several times. Blew out the headphone jack and put the headphones in and out several times. I can hear music through the headphones, but that is it. (And for those individuals that posted make sure the button on the side is in "ring" mode...thank you...that was the first thing I checked).
I wonder if everyone who this problem and tried all the troubleshooting had to return their phones? Did you have to send it in to Apple? How long did it take to fix? I have a hard time being without a phone, I run my business this way. If anyone knows, please let me know.
I think it is pretty bad of Apple when you pay so much for a phone and so many people are having this problem that they don't figure it out and fix it. Maybe a recall?? Sounds like too many of us have had this problem.Hello,
Sorry about your situation. We do shell out some money for this phone (some more than others) but at the end of the day we are humans and these phones are also made by workers that cannot even afford and iPhone. Don't blame Apple (blame Foxconn?).
I normally use the vibrate with the Bluetooth headset and send the audio through the Bluetooth speaker, so this is not a big issue for me. However if your settings are correct they can verify this issue at the store immediately but not sure about the turn around but the Apple genius should have some estimate.

I have an 32 Gig I Phone 4 S that has no sound sine I upgraded to IOS 8. No resolution after 4 subsequent IOS 8 updates. Thought I could down grade to IO 7. I am told that is not possible [why not?]

[1] full factory restore and latest download of IO 8... I have done this 3 times
[2] I have done full factory restore and set it up as new phone and before I imported a single app or even a contact, had same sound issue.

IOS 8 does not work on my iphone 4 S. I have had no sound and thus no turn by turn directions, no music, no you tube, no online streaming of any sound since September 17th.
I am the usual story of the resurgence of Apple, I bought an I Pod, then an I phone, then a Mac Mini, Macbook pro and even an Apple TV.
If I google "problems with IOS8" I get 99,500 hits. There are 82 pages alone of comments about wifi issues with IOS 8.
Apple, you broke my phone with your software update, please fix it or replace it. It is not OK to treat a good customer like this. If you something that isn't yours, it is common courtesy to fix,replace or pay for it. This is something we teach children.
SeanWell, Apple does not participate in the forum, so they will not hear all of the things that you have asked them to do. If you restored the device as new and tested it with no content added and it was still not working correctly, then you need to make an appointment at the Genius Bar at the nearest Apple store to have the hardware checked. Then when there you can tell the Genius everything you wanted to tell Apple here, about the number of Google hits you received, the fact they broke your phone and want it fixed or replaced. and that you feel they should not be treating you like they are.
