  • No SD card reader under Windows?

    Hello everyone,
I have a 2011 iMac 27" with 10.7.4 which functions perfectly. However, If I install Windows 7 under Boot Camp the SD card reader disappears!
Does anyone know the reason for this and how to get it back?
Thanks in advance and greetings to The Hatter and to Fortuny

    Hello again,
Have reinstalled Windows 7 three times now with Bootcamp 3.2 3.3 and 4.0 but with the same result.
SD card works fine with 10.7.4 but not even showing in Windows 7.
Tried to manually install the driver as you say but no joy!
There is a message when installing Bootcamp that a USB hub didn't install correctly and I guess this has something to do with it. Funny it's working in Lion but never in Windows!
    Thanks mende1 for the help
Anyone have any ides? Can anyone help?

  • Retina Graphics Card Switching under Windows 7

Does anyone know of a tool that would allow me to switch graphics cards in Windows 7? I believe having such a tool would greatly improve battery life since I will only used Windows 7 for work.
    Thanks!

The only thing I can think of is maybe Apple doesn't have a Lion compatible Firmware installer?
If nobody else hops in here with another idea then the only thing I can think of is to get an external HD and install 10.6 back on to it and boot from there and give it ago. If anything you now have a back up disk?
Maybe try the iMac forums to see how they did it. Just mention you were here already.
But you MAY have to swap the drives as the firmware installer might not work via booted from an external drive, just the nature of the beast.

  • Tip for ALL Graphics cards running under Windows

    PLEASE STICKY THIS
This is a really useful tip for anyone running windows ME or XP.
It doesn't matter what card your installing and it really helped me out once.
    Use System Restore
System restore is a simple utility Microsoft came up with for things like registry changes or putting new hardware/software in.
All you have to do is:
    1. Set up system restore to monitor the hard drives or partitions you want it too. This can simply be done by going to start>all programs (or program files)>accessories>system setup>system restore. Once the window has opened choose system restore settings and from here you can change what hard drives are monitored and how much disk space restore can use.
    2. Before you make a change to your card (whether it be drivers or putting a card in) open up system restore as in step '1' but choose create restore point. The system may hang for a minute then you will be told a restore point has been made.
    3. Now any change you make to anything to do with the operating system will be noted by windows and the unchanged vesion will be kept in that hard drive space you specified in step '1'
    4. Should the drivers screw up your system you can boot in safe mode (by hammering F8 between POST and OS loading screen) and when a dialog box comes up saying you have started in safe mode choose to run system restore.
NOTE: BIOS changes can NOT be undone in system restore, and if your computer won't boot at all your  ed!!!
System restore should not be used if your computer is running ok, or if you can resolve the issues by changing drivers, using system restore can bring back spyware, viruses and trojans! If there is a power failure or your PC crashes when running system restore yu may need to format your hard drive.

Most video driver related problems can be solved by uninstalling the old drivers, rebooting, and cancelling the "found new hardware" dialog before running the new driver installer.

  • Premiere Elements 9 crashes with multiple NVIDIA graphics cards under Windows 7

I've just installed Premiere Elements 9 and found that it will not run at all with multiple NVIDIA graphics cards active under Windows 7.  Per all the other discussions, I updated the NVIDIA drivers and Quicktime support to the latest versions.  (NVIDIA version 260.99).  I have both a 9400 GT and an 8400 GS installed, to support multiple monitors.  They both use the same driver.  The PRE 9 organizer will run, but as soon as I create or load a project it quickly crashes.
On a long shot I disabled the 8400 GS card in the Device Manager and now I can run PRE 9.  Of course this means giving up one of my monitors.  Any other ideas?

Over in the Premiere Pro area (or maybe it was in the Hardware section... didn't pay a lot of attention 'cause it really didn't matter to me) I read a message about using two nVidia cards with no problems (other than no dual-card SLI support)
I **think** that was with two SAME model nVidia cards
And, of course, PPro is completely different code, so PreEl may simply not work with two nVidia cards

  • Pearl with memory card works until synch with desktop mgr

I have a Pearl 8130 and a 4gb MicroSD HC card.  The card has been formatted and I used the Roxio software from desktop mgr to move stuff to the card.  All was good.  Now each time I connect the pearl and sync with the desktop software, once I disconnect from the laptop, the phone doesn't recognize the memory card.  I have to "add" it each time and then it works fine.  Any idea why my connecting to the desktop software would somehow make the phone no longer see the memory card?  I searched in the support forums and nothing came up.
    Desktop Mgr ver 4.3.0.17, smartphone v 4.3.0.97
Media card support On, Mass storage mode On, Auto enable Mass Storage Mode Yes, Total space 3.7GB, Free space 3.4GB
    Thanks.

hi Sanj, you may try to delete everything form the memory card with a card reader under windows, or also may try to format the memory card to fat32, and then try use it again with your phone. I recommend to format the card with the phone after it started successfully.

  • Transfering pictures from memory card to computer

I have a new HP Photosmart 7529e all in one. I put my memory card in the slot but the printer screen does not show my computer as a destination.  I'm using Windows 7.  Nothing at the computer end acknowlages that the card is in the printer slot. How do I transfer pictures from the card to the computer?

    Thank you for clarifying Stainless909,
In order to access the network card through the wireless network, you will need to map a networf folder to access the printer.
Follow these steps to map a network path:
From the printer front anel go to Setup, then open the Wireless menu.
Select Display Network Configuration , then go to Display Network Summary  and write a not of the printer IP address.
Open the Computer window by choosing Start → Computer.
Click the Map Network Drive button on the toolbar to open the Map Network Drive dialog box.
Type the printer's IP address with 2 trailing back slashes in front (e.g. \\10.0.0.1), then click on Browse and select the Memory Card folder.
Click OK to confirm, ensure that Reconnect at Logon is checked and click on Finish.
From now on you will have a drive to access the memory card ready under Computer.

  • PCMCIA-FBus Series 2 is not recognized under Windows XP

I'm trying to get a PCMCIA-FBus Series 2 card work under Windows XP Professional SP2 toghether with an Elan P111 PCI to PCMCIA Adapter, but when I plug in the card Windows does not recognize it - I only get a "pcmcia unknown_manufacturer" message and no driver is installed.
I've tried to install the driver manually, but then I get an error code 10, Device could not be started.
    The Computer is a Dell Optiplx 740, AMP Athlon 64 X2 3800+. NI-Configurator v3.1, v3.1.1 and v3.2.1 have been tested. The Elan P111 driver is PSeries v5.07.08.

    Hi,
I am not sure whether this PCI-PCMCIA adapter works well with Windows XP SP2.  I suggest that you also contact the adapter manufacturer for the compatibility issue.
We did do some test on Elan PCI-PCMCIA adapter, but I am sorry that we are unable to make verifications on all kinds of hardware and software combination. There exists the possibilities that the adapter does not work on some PC's.
Another suggestion that you can try is to install the PCI-PCMCIA adapter driver on a clean Dell Optiplx 740 (Windows XP SP2 without Microsoft hotfix ). I think this can help you identify whether there are compatibility problems between the adapter and system.

  • Nokia 6300: Lost memory card = Lost applications

    Hi
Does anyone know if I can download the Collection software that came on the included memory card of my new 6300?
I somehow lost the microSD card and no way I'm i retracing my steps to try and find it. Ive ordered a bigger memory card but wanted to download the applications that originally came with the phone.
I've tried a few routes Nokia/Orange but no one seems to know. I'm looking to anyone out there who may have an idea.
    Many thanks
    Barry

I had the same problem and contacted Nokia help email,
    Solution
    1. Install Nokia PC suite on your PC.
    2. Have original memory card with games etc on it in your phone.
    3. Connect your phone by cable to your PC and select Nokia mode on your phone and File manager in PC suite.
4.Select 'memory card' in the window that appears and select all folders on the card, transfer the folders to your 'desktop' on your PC.
    5. Place your new 1GB card into a usb card reader and transfer the folders from your desktop to the new card.
    6. Replace the new card for the old and all should be OK, you are supposed to be-able to transfer direct from the PC to your phone but the 'Games & Collection' folders won't move !.

  • Memory card for 8330

I can not figure out where put put the memory card on my 8330.  I looked in the manual and it does not say but it does say you can add a memory card.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to the forums.
The memory card goes under the battery.   There is a small silver clasp/door near the top of the battery compartment.  The door slides and then flips up, and you put the card in (gold contacts down and towards the side of the device) and then flip the door down and slide it to hold it in place.

  • Fan control in Windows

    Hi All,
I've recently installed Windows 8.1 on my Retina Macbook Pro 13". Performance is great overall, however I have one problem:
Fan control under Windows is terrible... The fans stay low as with Mavericks, but when the CPU gets hotter, they (well it is only one actually) don't really ramp up. My CPU reached 88 degrees celsius just installing some software...
This worries me, so I got Lubbo Fan control, which works ok and redid the fan management. However, it can only set the fan to 6000rpm not the max of 6200!!!
With this in mind, I cannot play games running windows since the cooling will be insufficient. In OSX i  play Borderlands 2 maxed out, with rather high temps, but stable and no downclocking where the fan runs a t max 6200 rpm.
Thank you guys for any tips you have on this issue, it is very much appreciated.
PS: Overall, Intel Iris seems to be very heat problematic when gaming. Running the i7 at max for half an hour for transcoding video in OSX will leave the fan at a stable below 5000 rpm speed. However, when gaming, where the CPU i not nearly half used, the machine gets hot and maxes fan speed.

No, it seems like the built-in thermal protection manages to reduce the temperature quickly enough. I've downloaded an application named MacFan, which you can manually set the fan speed.

  • How to view hidden window file in a memory card?

I am connecting a memory card to a mac
But i cant view the hidden files in it
    It is a window file
    Can anyone help ?=)

Symbian^3 currently has no way of looking at stored messages in the memory card. If you would like to access them, load the memory card back to your old phone and sync them to your PC via Ovi suite where these messages can be read on the program. You can move these to the C6-01 via Ovi Suite should you desire to do so.

  • Sat P105-S2036 WinVista SD memory card device not shown in WIndows Explorer

The label on the botton of the laptop says the Model Number is PSPAOU-1W2036. I have had it for about 2 years. It has a single slot SD memory card only reader in the front. During this time till 2 days ago, it ran factory installed Windows XP MCE just fine. This SD reader shows up in Device Manager as well as in My Computer Windows Explorer window as a drive with letter D since I renamed the DVD drive to letter R. During the last two days, I successfully upgraded the operating system to Windows Vista Ultimate. Everything works fine except that the SD memory card reader no longer shows in neither Device Manager, nor Windows Explorer. But the Device Manager does show a working SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller, and a nonworking Mass Storage Controller (missing driver) under Other devices (See Attachment 1). What needs to be done to make the SD memory card reader a working device in Windows Vista? Thank to answers in advance.

  • Remote Control Optimization under Windows XP

    Hello -
I am having problems getting remote control optimizations activated
    under
Windows XP. RC works like a dream on our 98 boxen, but XP is slow as
    molasses.
    Zenworks 3.2 (non-SP1)
Our server is Netware 5.1 sp6 (I think)
    Novell Client 4.83 (non-SP1)

    Windows XP (non-SP1)
16 mb ATI Rage Pro Ultra Video Card
    driver: ati2dvaa.dll
    version: 6.59
This is the newest one on Dell's site, albeit dated August 2001.
The thing that gets my goat is that the Zen 3.0 readme says the
    Installer
can tell which cards are bad so it doesn't install the .dlls, but then
doesn't list the bad cards. Also, all my machines have drishi.dll in
    the
right spot. If anyone has any tips other than 'apply all patches' I
    would
    greatly appreciate it.

I have recently changed to an iMac from a Windows PC. How do I delete files and reformat the memory card in my helmetcam?

If you return the memory card to the helmetcam, it may choose to reformat it before use; back to some FAT-16 or FAT-32 format many of these third-party cards and cameras use. Unless you were going to use it for Mac OS X and format it with HFS+ or in a partition map for Mac data, etc.
If not, the easiest way to reformat the card may have been in the camera itself. I've formatted several kinds of camera cards, drives, USB flash drive, and others. The means varies with the intended purpose. Sometimes the default is the best; since it is platform neutral if the device is seen by both players.
    Good luck & happy computing!
