Tecra M10 - Can't uninstall or install Power Saver code 0x0

Hi folks,
on my new Tecra M10, after logging in I get a Fatal Error message "Toshiba Power Saver. Fatal error has ocured. This program will terminate. code 0x0.
I cannot install a new download of power saver until I UN-install the existing.
When I try to UN-install via Control panel, I get the same fatal error.

Hi
Friend of me had the same problem and he told me that it was possible to remove Toshiba Power Saver in safe mode. Therefore go in advanced boot menu and select safe mode. After this try removing Power Saver as normal.
Check this!
Furthermore you could try removing Power Saver using an additional tool like CCleaner. This is a very nice tool where you can remove programs and optimize the registry. I like this freeware program.

  • Please help -can't uninstall or install iTunes  - Error code 2330

I tried to open up iTunes 9.1.1 today and got a message that windows was trying to configure iTunes. Midway through, i got an error message: "An error occurred while attempting to create directory: C:\documents and settings\all users\application data\apple computer\iTunes\SC info.
So i then tried to download the new version of iTunes (9.2), and got a message that "the installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with the package. The error code is 2330."
Then I followed the trouble shooting steps on the support site - deleted the Temp folder and then tried to uninstall 9.1.1. I received the same 2330 error message.
Doing a search of error 2330 on this forum, I saw people recommending running a Chkdsk which I did. This repaired some errors, but it didn't help with the installation, I got the same error message.
I have tried to call Apple support but apparently they don't support iTunes unless you're running it on a MAC. I'm upset and frustrated and at my wits end. I know next to nothing about computers, which doesn't help ;o) I'd be grateful for any suggestions...

    Many thanks.
Okay, either the SCInfo directory (or the iTunes directory above it) has gotten damaged in some way. iTunes is detecting that when you try to launch it, and it is trying to do a repair install in order to try to repair the damage. But the damage in your case is enough to stop the repair install from going through. The same damage will be stuffing up the attempts to uninstall/reinstall/update iTunes.
There's an alternate strategy we can try to get around this in cases where chkdsk can't fix the damage. But first we're going to have to adjust some view settings on the PC, because your damage is lurking down in directories that are hidden by default on Windows XP systems.
    1. Open My Computer from the desktop or Start menu.
    2. In the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
    3. Click the View tab.
    4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected.
    5. Click OK.
Now we'll see to the file.
In My Computer, open your C drive.
Open the "Documents and Settings" folder.
    Open the "All users" folder.
    Open the "Application Data" folder.
    Open the "Apple Computer" folder.
    Rename the "iTunes" folder "iTunesOLD".
Restart the PC. Now try launching iTunes again. Does the repair install go through properly this time?
(If the iTunes Setup Assistant runs, don't add files to your library. Otherwise you may end up with a lot of duplicates in your library.)
If you get iTunes launching again, check to see if any purchased music is still playing, and if any iPods/iPhones/AppleTVs etc are connecting properly. (We've forced iTunes to rebuild configuartion files and an iPodDevices.xml that affect some iTunes DRM/authorisation-related and device-connection-related machinery. So I reckon it's possible you might at least need to reauthorise some songs or apps or games after iTunes launches again.)

Can't uninstall or install a program on my laptop: User account control popup and the yes option is deactivated

    Hi,
Are you logged in as Administrator user?
If yes, lower the UAC notifications as suggested in this tutorial & try again.
    Else,
Run this MS Fixit, restart system and try again.
Another else, try this useful application for uninstalling the program.

  • Can I uninstall and install without loosing play lists

Can I uninstall and install without loosing play lists

Your iTunes folder (normally under ~/Music/iTunes) contains files that tell iTunes what you have in your library, playlists, genres, ...These database files have extensions of .itl and .xml.  Deeper in the iTunes folder you have the actual media (movies, songs, tv shows).
Uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling iTunes should not impact your iTunes library.  It will change iTunes settings like window size, if you have the sidebar turned on, and the like.  I do recommend you have a backup of your iTunes folder but at least save copies of your .itl and .xml files.
Your question is a bit cryptic so I'm guessing at your actual question.  Good luck.

  • Portege R700 - Installed Power Saver on Windows 7 64bit

    Hi,
I was looking for a way to reduse fan noise on a Win7 Portege R700-174 and read to install "Power Saver" from the Toshiba support site.
Installation was OK, but I cannot use ist because Common Module is not installed. I get an error "Code: 0x2". I already understand that "Power Saver" and "Common Module" is not intended for windows 7. Why have I been able to install it anyway?
Now when I try to remove "Power Saver" i get yet another error and uninstall fails.
What can I do? Any help is appreciated!
    Regards
    Michael

    Hey,
Toshiba Common Modules and Power Saver are designed for Windows XP only! This software isnt compatible to Vista and Windows 7. In this case you have to install Value Added Package.
Anyway, not its too late and you must remove the installed software. If you get an error while uninstalling I would recommend using CCleaner to remove the programs. CCleaner can also uninstall all software that you have installed and its freeware tool. Do a Google search to download it and try uninstalling the Toshiba tools again.

  • Can't uninstall or install any Blackberry software?

I just loaded in my disk for the Blackberry User Tools, and therefore it installed the Desktop Manager, Device Manager and the Media Manager. Since this, I uninstalled Roxio Media because I didn't want the program, and now nothing works.
When I try to open Device Manager, nothing happens. My Blackberry Media Manager has gone completely, and I cannot uninstall the Blackberry Desktop Software 5.0.1 ... I really want to get rid of it and install a new version because it isn't working.
I tried using the User Tools disk, and it's not recognised anymore and the 'run.exe' isn't coming up like it did before. I can't uninstall the software due to an error 1500 (An install is taking place, wait for this to finish before changing other programs). I'm not installing anything!
I've tried to install new software, but I get the same error message and am stuck with lots of software that currently isn't working. Please help me.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
I can't specifically tell what you've tried and not tried, so I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Satellite A30 - Not able to install Power Saver on Windows XP Professional

    Hi
No, the Powers saver should also works and run with Win XP Pro.
There is no difference. Every tool which works on XP Home is compatible with Win XP Pro too.
Did you receive the Tools and Utility CD? You could try to use this version

  • Cannot install power saver on new OS

    Hi there,
I have problems with Toshiba Power Saver.
I have bought my Laptop in Austria with German windows. But I installed the english version and there came the problem. Everything worked except 2 utilities. I tried to install them from the recovery CD but they doesn't work.
So i installed Toshiba power saver but it didnt run. When i click on control panel and Toshiba power saver, comes the message:
"Cannot open because you dont have access rights to run Toshiba Power Saver" I am logged on as the administrator.
So I dont know. I tried to download them from internet but the problem still remains. In german XP media center edition everything works, but in my XP with SP2 no.

    Hi Raymon
In my opinion you should post at first which notebook model you have exactly.
Anyway, for installation of single tools and utilities you can not use recovery CD because there is installations image. For single tools or utilities you can use Tools & Utilities CD or download them from download page.
If I am understood your posting right the Power saver is preinstalled on your unit but you can not use it. Because of that you must not try to install it again. Please be sure that you are logged in as administrator and not as user with limited permissions.
I have tested it on my unit and just if I am logged as limited user I can not start power saver. As administrator I can do what I want.

  • How can I manage audio output power save time?

I need to make spdif-audio out always ON, that's needed for my external DAC which is synced on the signal correctly. However, the system mute audio out in about one minute of silence. How can I avoid this power save and keep sync signal always ON, or, at least, increase power save time up to 10-15 minutes?
    Thanks!

You may be able to do what you want with Rogue Amoeba's Airfoil for Mac.

  • Can't uninstall or install itunes.

    Help!!
When I try to install the new version of itunes it tells me I need to delete the old verson first.
When I try to uninstall it I get the error message
The feature you are trying to use in on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "iTunes64.msi" in the box below.
I have searched the internet for solutions but I can't find it. I can't find the windows utility that I have seen online.
    Please help!!

I am currently having a very similar problem. I am running Windows Vista and I have iTunes installed on a WD hard drive. When I open up iTunes I get a message saying "The software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly." It then gives me the option to repair. After selecting repair it says that I need to reinstall iTunes. From here I get the same story: I cannot install or uninstall without getting a message "The folder path 'Program Files' contains an invalid character.

  • Can't uninstall or install iTunes due to 9.1.1 upgrade version

Since the upgrade of 9.1.1 version of iTunes it just doesn't work at all, I can't neither install nor uninstall, I've already tried everything in this Forum but nothing seems to work.
When I try to install all over again the message "The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory C:\program files\common files\Apple\CoreFP The installation can't continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator" appears, but I am the administrator ans still have my access denied! I've followed a tutorial posted as an answer to a topic here but it didn't work (this was the link it lead me http://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-7/windows-7-how-to-delete-files-protected-by-tru stedinstaller/ )
I can't install, uninstall, remove the folder with everything, have access to CoreFP folder, open iTunes and it's all just driving me crazy!
A month ago I had same problem with the AppleSyncNotifier and its program called Core Foundation or something like that , but a few days later the warning disappeared and I though it was ok.
Please someone give me a light and help me!!

  • Can't uninstall or install apps from CC

Let's see, I'm going crazy here.
I uninstalled Photoshop CC, Bridge and Premiere via Control Panel some days ago. Today I opened Creative Cloud and I see that the apps are still marked as installed. So I tried to uninstall them from CC. I can't. They're marked as installed but the programs are obviously not there so I get an error, but they don't disappear from the list. I also have a pending update for PS CC and that doesn't work either. Uninstalled Creative Cloud also and ran the Cleaner. Installed CC again. Everything is still the same. When trying to uninstall, the error log doesn't say anything. When trying to update Photoshop I get the famous "Camera Raw etc" error. Really don't know what to do anymore. Windows 7, 64bits.
    Regards.

So, don't know what I did but now all apps show as updated without being really there. I see that's a known problem but I'm not finding any luck with the solutions here: CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed
And still getting this error if I try to update PS:
ERROR: DW051: Dependency of session payload {3E7FC757-D497-4C89-A935-7D38E2164E85} Shared Technology Photoshop Camera Raw 8 8.0 has changed.
There must be some locations that I can look for files and delete them, because Cleaner is not solving the issue and the programs don't appear on the Control Panel uninstaller anymore since I deleted them.
Help, please, this is killing my soul.
    Thanks.
