Tecra M2 725 dark spots lower left and right corner.

I have bought a Tecra M2 725 and in the lower right and left corner there is a spot. It's looks the same as when you hold a magnet close to a CRT monitor. They are small in size and stay within the measurements of the Windows taskbar.
Sometimes they are more clear to spot than other times. I have the idea that it has something to do with the lighting tubes for the LCD screen.
Is there somebody that can comfirm if he has it also? You can see it the best by doing a diagnostics test with the Toshiba software and select only the "Display" test. In this test you see a green screen and there I can see the "shadows" the best.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Bobby
As far as I know if its only a dead pixel problem, the display will be replaced for free only if the screen had more than 5 dead pixels. Another thing they look is the position of the dead pixel, if it is in the centre or corners of the screen. But nevertheless how Markus said you should contact the service partner for more informations.
Take a look on the Toshiba site: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

  • Opening a new URL, a blank page appears with 2 messages on the top left and right corner of the window: "Advertise here" and "Skip this ad" and it will not go to the requested site until I push "Skip this ad"

It would be nice to have the possibility to attach a print screen or something to give you a better idea what is happening and how it looks like.
Anyway, what I described above is accurate:
    - the address bar shows the link where I wish to go
    - but the page loaded is blank with these 2 hyperlink messages ("Advertise here" in the top left corner, and "Skip this ad" in the top right corner).
I would like to emphasize that it does not have to do with the requested URL: it does the same thing with all sites, all the time.

For me is the same, it's yet 6 months.
the blank page apears for the first 20-30 of the day's navigation, then no more.
For example: If I open firefox at 9 a.m., it appears until 9.30 more or less. If i surf the web until mignight, at 00.01 a.m. this page starts bugging me.
I have yust to click on the link "skip this ad" to return to the desired web page.
Using Adblockplus and NoScript plug-ins had sadly no effect.
I've read somewere that the ploblem should be an f**** adware called "directCPV"., and that the solution is toremove an .exe file called Directcpv.exe or somewhat else, but in my pc I haven't found any of those linked to this adware.
I tried a full system scan with an antivirus (McAfee), with Malwarebytes, Ad-Aware, ATF cleaner, Spybot, Exterminate-it but NO RESULTS.
I tried to do this in safe mode too.
No way cleaning the cache, temp files, cookies etc.
finally I tried to uninstall Firefox (cleaning all registry entry too) and reinstall it, but the problem is still there.
The only cure seems to be formatting the HD, but it's very last chance.
If someone have an idea, please post it here.

  • Yoga 13 trackpad physically sticking in left and right corners

Ok, let me start by saying this is a brand new Yoga 13. The issue is not a software problem. The issue is that at least one or two times a day (sometimes more,) when left clicking or right clicking by pressing on the lower left and right bottom areas of the trackpad, the button/trackpad corner remains depressed. At that point, I need to press on the opposite side of the touch pad and then it pops back up.
I spent an hour on the phone with support and don't think I ever really got the phone person to understand that this wasn't a firmware issue- it wasn't a software issue - it was a hardware issue.
So here's where it gets interesting...
When we purchased the system right off the Lenovo website, we purchased the 3-year warranty with the damage protection and in-home servicing. While on the phone with customer support, the woman, and later her manager- reported that the in-home servicing was not available for the Yoga. Hard to believe since it is currently available as an add on. So, I'm not too sure where that leaves me. I have a brand new computer with an obvious hardware issue, tech support that is incapable of understanding my issue, and a company that is refusing to honor their own service plan.
    Joe

probably your warrenty information is not in the dababase yet.
I'll pm him, but it wasn't the warranty database thing - they had all that information, they just said straight out that Lenovo would NOT send people to homes to repair Yoga systems. They said that they'd do it with any other Lenovo product (as long as you had the warranty) but not the Yoga.
    Anyhow, I'll pm mark. Thanks!

  • 2011 17" MBP TrackPad Left and Right Click Intermittent in Win7/64

A few weeks ago I installed Win7 Pro 64 via Bootcamp in a new 2011 MBP 17 (2.3gig).   Since day one the trackpad left and right click buttons have been intermittent in Windows only.
For example, while surfing the web some clicks work, others don't, often have to repeat clicks to get it to work, then next time it will work the first time. This is not just a Safari problem, it happens in every program including the Finder.
I think it is a driver issue and Apple needs to get on the ball and fix the problem and send out an update (yes I have the latest version).
I saw where a guy had written drivers to address the problems with the low quality Apple drivers.  His is called TrackPad+++ but it is bloated and I'd rather not install it nor should have to.
Anyone else having this problem or found a good solution?   BTW an external USB mouse works great.

After a little bit of looking around i found my answer! Use the BootCamp Control Panel that you can call up by clicking on the boot camp icon in the notifications panel. There one can enable tap to click, dragging, and right click.

  • Opened a .ai file, found that left and right side are cut off (landscape vs. regular the issue?)

Information all in the title.  I open a .ai file and the left and right sides of the image are cut-off based on the "page" box

Did you open it in a lower version?
It looks like you opened the PDF part of the file instead of the AI part.

  • Adjusting Left And Right Balance for INPUT - SB Audigy 2

    Hi Guys,
<SPAN class=52245242-27042005>I'm using an SB Audigy 2 ZS with the latest drivers. I realize that it is possible to adjust the left/right balance for speaker OUTPUT, but Is it possible to adjust the left/right balance for the inputs? I'm doing some recording and I want to set different input levels for the left and right side of the CD Digital In as well as the Aux Line In. So either either a way to control left/right input balance or seperate input levels for left/right would be helpful.
    <SPAN class=52245242-27042005>
    <FONT size=+0><SPAN class=52245242-27042005><SPAN class=52245242-27042005>Thanks in advance,
    <SPAN class=52245242-27042005>Steve

Thanks but I need real time. If I use a mic for the right input and a seperate mic for the left input I want to be able to set the optimum recording level for each side/mic. If I just set the level for the louder of the 2 mics then the other mic level on the other side is set too low You would think that Creative could have included this as a software control.
Also, if I record using the "Digital Input' and the 'Aux Line In" at the same time then you must select "Record What You Hear" from the Creative Control Panel. Both sources are mixed togther, if I could set the CD Digatl output to left side only then I could record CD Digital on the left side and Line Input on the right.
I just wish the Audigy could do this as it would be a cheap software control, I don't won't to buy another soundcard.

  • IMovie crops-truncates-cuts-deletes left and right area of ".mov" movie!!!

iMovie crops-truncates-cuts-deletes left and right area of mov movie!!!
I am using iMovie 8.05 on Mac OS X 10.5.8 on Mactel. Is that iMovie '09. The dual-naming is utterly confusing.
    OK, here is my problem:
When I import a ".mov" file (generated by screen movie capture via Internet using Snapz Pro X) into iMovie, it shows complete on the lower pane (event timeline). Yet, when I drag from the event timeline pane it to the top left pane (project), the movie shows truncated-cropped (the left and right parts of the screen are not shown). That is, such left and right areas are deleted!
Is this a bug? How to fix it?
    Thanks.

    Update:
I have seen that I can use the "Window - Cropping..." menu to fit, crop and ken burns, yet if I choose to fit, then all the movie is included which is what I want, but also black areas are shown on top and bottom of the movie which I do not want. Is there a way to delete such black areas?
If instead I try to use crop or ken burns, I cannot include all the movie area, because the real area of the movie is much wider than the area that the iMovie frame allows. Is there a way to select beyond the default area on the left and right, to really include all the movie?
    Thanks.

  • Left and right arrow keys are not working properly now

I searched the forum and didn't see this posted. My left and right arrow keys are not working properly now.
For example, when typing, left arrow does not produce the desired action (move cursor one spot to the left), and right arrow does not produce the desired action (move cursor one spot to the right). Also, control + left no longer activates spaces, and control + right no longer activates spaces.
Interestingly, in investigating the problem, I noticed that my shortcut keys for activating spaces and for activating expose had been changed (software update?). Before, I had set F5 (without pressing fn) for expose and had set F6 (without pressing fn) for spaces. Now, I noticed spaces was set back to the default of F8 (requiring fn).
The issue persists after shut down, and even when logged on to other users, e.g. Guest.
All other keys seem to be working fine, including the up and down arrows.
I don't think it's a cleaning issue because fn + left + right produces the "[" character on the screen.
    Any ideas?

I'm having the same type of issue on my MacBook except not with arrow keys. The volume keys do different things when I click on them. For example, the mute key brings up the dashboard and the volume up key makes all the open screens smaller (don't know what this feature is called). I did a software update then restarted the computer when this starting happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • Left- and right arrow key out of order

    Hi,
I'm afraid to need your help again. My left and right arrow keys doesn't work as they're supposed to. While can neither navigate through my desktop icons nor the buttons in any dialog nor the text I'm just writing. The cursor stops blinking as soon as I press one of these keys so the system recognizes the key press but the cursor doesn't move. Showkey returns the keycodes 105 left and 106 for the right arrow key.
While logging in with LXDM im able to navigate back and foth while entering my password as well as the keys work properly in tty. It seems to be only LXDE, where the keys are not working.
Furthermore my function keys like mute, volume up and down and so on aren't working too. I don't know if both errors are relatet to another.
Maybe anyone has an idea what I might do to fix this?

I think I use lxdm to log in. As soon as I'm logged in, I'm using lxde. Ist this what you have to know?
no, you have to know it.
i meant: when you login with lxdm, do you have a choice between lxde-session and openbox-session (or sth similar) because there's a difference how openbox gets started and which config files are parsed.
It's an lxde-session. And LXDE uses openbox-lxde as displaymanager.

The part of the rc.xml I posted beforehand is the only one in that file that is tagged with <keyboard> and there is no binding for the left or right arrow key. There are some in combination with the control or shift key but that shouldn't do anything regarding my problem.

    Absolutely.

    Yes, exactly.
Steff432 wrote:I don't use lxdm, but I guess that doesn't use the default Gtk text entry widget, while most Gtk-based browsers as far as I know do, so it might be related to Gtk in some way. Or do you use a Qt browser? Have you tried the keys in non-Gtk software?
I use firefox which is, as far as I know, Gtk-based. But I installed QupZilla and gabe it a try. Unfortunatelly the same error shows up there.
I don't know if I'm right but lxde should be gtk-based itself and running a non-Gtk software in gtk-based lxde would show up the same gtk-errors to, wouldn't it? So eventually I'd have to try a non-Gtk software in a non-Gtk desktop environment in order to check whether the error doesn't show up under non-gtk software?

  • Left and right audio is cancelling out when I stream from macbook to apple TV2

When I stream from iTunes on my Macbook to my Apple TV the left and right audio sounds like it is cancelling each other out, meaning the lead vocal on songs is very low in the mix.  Anyone know why this is happening?

Well there is something definitely wrong. If track is panned to left channel and the output virtual LEDs show left channel only then it has to be a problem somewhere else. Are you using a digital interface or the 1/8" audio out to mixer, headphone.

  • Left and right Arrow keys Not working now

It is not hardware because fn + left + right produces the "[" character on the screen.
    Any ideas?

You might want to post in the MacBook forums as this seems to be a hardware issue and those gurus hang out there. http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=248

  • Can i switch left and right outp

ok, i found 4 old speakers in my basement, and decided to make my closet into a computer room with extreme surround sound. I got my stereo system as well, and made myself a nice little 4.0 setup. (i only found one stereo in my basement, so the front channel has 4 speakers, and the back has the other 2). I bought a sound blaster audigy, and it sounded great.
However, i then noticed my two old desktop speakers, and they still worked great. So, i decided to make a 6.0 setup. However, my closet is really long, and there was no place in the back for a speaker. So, to make a long troubleshoot short, i soldered the lefft speaker wire to an extremely long audio cord and taped the speaker (using monstrous amounts of duct tape) to the wall above the doorframe.
I got it all hooked up, with those 2 new speakers being front center and rear center. I booted up and... ****** BACKWARDS!!!!! The rear center is in the front center spot and vice versa. I was wondering if there was any way to tweak the settings so that you could switch the speaker assignments. Basically, i need to switch the left and right output on only one of three output channels. (im usin the fourth for a mike)
Please tell me anything you know, even if its probably not true or if its risky, i cant switch the speakers because i cant solder the 2-channel output cord to make it longer, and it would kill the wal to rip off all that tape. Thanx.

Try Audio MIDI Setup (Utilities folder. Set "Properties For" to Line Output and click "Configure Speakers".
If that doesn't work, try using Audio Hijack Pro
    <http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijackpro/>
It has a "Swap Channels" effect. It is not free, but the free trial should work fine if you are not recording.

  • Touchpad left and right clicks don't work on Yoga 2 pro

    Hi,
I just bought a a yoga 2 pro. After setting up, I found that the two bottom keys, left and right keys on the trackpad do not work. Double tap also doesn't work. I reinstall the touchpad driver to no avail. Other gestures on the touchpad work fine, single tap registers as left click, two finger scroll also works. Also, when I use a blue tooth mouse, left and right key works fine.
I am not sure if this is a hardware problem as when I swipe on the area of the two bottom keys, they register the movement. Just not click. Anyone can help me?

    Hello,
I've had a Yoga2 Pro now for six months or so.  Just recently the left click stopped working correctly.  What I notice is that when holding down the left click button on the touch pad, and I try to drag a slider (like a volume slider or to drag a selection box or to drag a scroll box on a page, or to highlight text) and it stops holding down the click.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it keeps stopping.
Now, the right click is malfunctioning as well.  I press right click on something like an image, and nothing happens.  I have to right click on something 2-10 times now for it to register that I'm right clicking.
Also, should I be able to tap the touchpad with two fingers and have that be a right click, or am I just reading that I should be able to do that on the screen (which  can)?
I have downloaded the drivers for the y2p touchpad and the y2-13 and the generic ones from the synaptics webpage, but before I uninstall my drivers and try to install those, I want to be sure that is the correct and only possible fix.  I'm hoping its not a hardware malfunction.  I am running Win 8.1.
    Thank you.

  • My ipod's music quality is inferior. It doesnt have the surround sound/ left and right audio channel unlike my brothers ipod? is there a problem with the chip?

I have an ipod touch 4g (8GB), I got this about 2.5 months ago, the same time my brother get his. My problem is that I noticed that audio quality is better on his device than mine. I have been listening to music and had different music devices before (non-Apple product and mobile phone) and the quality of music is better when I used to listen to those devices as well as my brother's ipod touch. Im referring to the left and right audio channels. Im not so good about the technical stuff but the best explanation I can give you is in a music or a movie, there's an effect wherein you can here a sound only at the left ear phone/speaker that you cant hear at the right earphone/speaker. I mean for example in a song, a guitar intro can be heared only at the left
ear while the background music plays on the other ear. Or when theres and echo effect on the song that alternates sound on the left and right ear. I hope youre getting what Im trying to say. Im bothered that my ipod is fake or has an internal problem on the chips or something because I didnt bought this at an Apple Center/Mac Center. I bought it on a retailer. I am not able to visit any store or Genius Bar  or contact an apple specialist through phone because of my work schedule and work load.  I have contacted the retailer before when I tried to return it for replacement or repair but he told me that it is under Apple's warranty, not theirs. I do hope that I can get a help from you because I want to really enjoy my device. Thank you and Im looking forward for the responce/assistance form you.

I suggest you don't apply pressure to the screen - it's a Touch - you touch the screen not push it.
    Phil
