Tecra M2 - screen changes to pink background

Hi - this is my first message and I would appreciate some guidance.
Sometimes when I switch the notebook on, and other times in the middle of working, the white background on the screen changes to pink. The screen then looks blurred although everything else seems to be working OK.
I tried tapping near the hinge, which seemed to correct the colour on one occasion.
Do I need to return my M2 to an authorised service provider?
Many thanks.

You do need to return the unit to your ASP for assistance, but from the sounds of it you have a loose cable flat which connects your display to your motherboard. A job that takes all of 15 minutes to fix. Should not be an issue for your ASP to fix it up real fast.

  • Selection Screen Change & Impact on background scheduled reports

    Hi,
    I have modified the selection screen of a report program by adding additional selection criteria. This report is background scheduled and runs several times with different variants in a day. I am worried that the background jobs may fail in Production if the latest changes are moved. But I think, background jobs will not fails unless the selection criteria that are part of variants that used in the background jobs not modified. But not sure. I just want to make sure, I am doing correct thing.
    Please let me know your thoughts. Appreciate your help!
    Thanks,
    Kannan.

    I don't think so.
    But of course you will have to update the variants to reflect the new selections.

  • Contacts screen changes to black background

    What causes the contacts to switch to a black background with blue and white text. I actually prefer it to the default but have no idea what action causes it to change then change back. It seems completely random. No, its not the invert colors option under accesability, this chage only occurs to the contacts list, and I'm not sure its in response to any particular thing I'm doing.

    Guess I should have mentioned its a 5s with OS 7.1 the most recent update

  • [Solved] Change default leaf background when unlocking screen in Gnome

    This is kinda silly, but how do I change the default desktop background when unlocking screen in gnome?, its always that annoying green leaf background, how can I make it my wallpaper instead?

    See the Gnome_Tips wiki article which contains the answer to this and other questions
    Change the Default Background Image
    The default background is that zoomed in picture of a green leaf. It appears for newly created users, but more importantly, this is the image shown when the screen is locked. As of 25-Apr-2009, you can find this image here
    /usr/share/pixmaps/backgrounds/gnome/background-default.jpg
    To change it, simply copy your favorite image to this locate (as root) and rename it.

    Try deleting the Desktop settings file. Open a Finder window, select the Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type:
    ~/Library/Preferences
    Then, delete "com.apple.desktop.plist" and "com.apple.systempreferences.plist", and restart. Finally, open System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver, and change the desktop wallpaper

  • Pink background issue in PS3

    Hi,
    Whenever I open a photoshop file, I get a pink background covering parts of the canvas that otherwise would be white (or some other color) due to a solid color layer being used as the background layer (or rather, the bottom most layer). I've never had this problem before and have been using the same copy of photoshop for months. I haven't changed any settings, but nonetheless held down ctrl+alt+shift and apparently deleted the settings file in hopes if fixing this problem. but, i'm still getting the pink background. it's a quick fix to redo a solid color layer or even to delete the pink background (although it doesn't even belong to a certain layer.. i am just able to magic wand it and delete) but whenever i open the file, the pink background reappears.
    has this happened to anyone else? any help would be appreciated.

    Look in the Channels palette.

    for some reason when i changed my desktop background to a photo from my picture folder, i cant seem to undo it. i cant even get into the desktop and screen saver preferences. as soon as i click on the desktop preferences, a window pops up and says " the application sysyem preferences quit unexpectedly....... it then asks me if i want to reopen,report,or close." if i reopen, it goes through the same thing again. i also reported this to apple. i dont know if it will do anything, but owell.
    is there anyway to reset this?
    is the image that i chose for my background (jpeg) have something to do with this?

  • Why can`t you change the black background behind icons

    I just got an iPhone yesterday and the thing works great no problems at all .... except that you cant change the black background behind the icons only the `slide to unlock` screen.
    how stupid you could even change the background on the old school nokia phones from 1998.
    this should be something apple lets us do on the next release
    what does everyone else think is there a way to change that black screen to a custom wallpaper WITH OUT HACKING IT. i dont believe in that and i would appreciate no one posting about hacking it.
    if there is a legit way to change it that i havent read about please let me know. if not APPLE CAN YOU ADD THIS TO YOUR NEXT UPDATE

    Not possible.

    You can't go to System Preferences>Desktop&Screen Savers and change the display? Try it and see. I've never seen that problem.

    Can you attach a screenshot?
    *http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screenshot
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/how-do-i-create-screenshot-my-problem
    *Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
    *Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB
    Missing icons are usually supplied by a font that is downloaded from the server (@font-face) as you might see by little boxes that show the hex code of the characters instead.
    Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
    *Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
    You can check the <b>gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page and make sure that it is set to true (if necessary double-click the line to toggle its value).

  • Clickng as screen changes

    Hey there,
    So I recently discovered a very faint clicking noise from the right speaker (no type of audio playing while its happening)
    At first, I heard while I was using the mousepad to scroll down the Home page of Facebook, so I thought the clicking was from scrolling. But I did some testing.
    Minimizing window; sounded like a ziptie
    Webpage, scrolling slowly using the scrollbar gave clicks as well.
    These are VERY faint clicking noises only audible putting your ear close to the speaker, but knowing that it's there is going to bug me. So if anyone can help, please do. Thanks.
    Another test:
    It seems the clicking get louder as the screen changes from light to dark, ie white background and scrolling to reveal an image.

  • X220 log-in screen changed to Windows 7

    My X220 laptop arrived two days ago and the log-in screen (before going to the desktop) changed from a black background with the word THINK to the regular Windows 7 background.
    In the two days that I have had my computer, I was loving the black background with the word THINK everytime I signed into my computer. I just wish I had it back. Is there any way to get this screen back?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Yup I did change to a Windows theme, and that was what caused my log-in screen to change. Thank you for that. All is good now. I reverted back to the default theme, and changed it's background to my liking.

    Probably you changed your Windows theme. One option would be to change it back to Thinkpad theme. Otherwise you might follow this article:

  • Transparency? Change Magic Pink(255, 0, 255) to transparent when blitting?

    Hi there. :)
    I've successfully loaded a bunch of images into Image objects in my HelloWorld applet; my next problem is getting that magic pink background to not show up.
    I looked through the methods in Java2D, and can't seem to find any that do what I want? Is there a setPixel() or getPixel() method that I'm missing? I just need to check if a pixel is pink, and then change the alpha from 1 to 0, I think.
    But if I can't check the pixel colour, I'm not sure how I do that. I looked for a replaceColour() method, but couldn't seem to find one of those either.
    Thanks. :D
    -Kramy

    This method will redraw a buffered image, setting the color you specified to be transparent.
        public BufferedImage makeImageTransparent (BufferedImage image, Color color) {
            BufferedImage dimg = new BufferedImage (image.getWidth (), image.getHeight (), BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB);
            Graphics2D g = dimg.createGraphics ();
            g.setComposite (AlphaComposite.Src);
            g.drawImage (image, null, 0, 0);
            g.dispose ();
            for (int i = 0; i < dimg.getHeight (); i++) {
                for (int j = 0; j < dimg.getWidth (); j++) {
                    if (dimg.getRGB (j, i) == color.getRGB ()) {
                        dimg.setRGB (j, i, 0x8F1C1C);
            return dimg;
        }

  • Pink background out of nowhere

    I have been using InDesign for several years to create our company catalog.  For some reason, just this week, pink backgrounds are showing up in text boxes.    It is random, no set pattern.  Just curious if this had happened to anyone else and is there an easy way to get rid of it shy of creating all new text boxes?  I hope I put this in the correct forum, my first time posting here.  Thanks.

    Nevertheless.
    The InCopy plugin was a separate product prior to CS3. In CS3 it is built-in. The following steps will add exactly the frame that is shown in your image:
    Open the Assignment panel
    Click the New Assignment button (bottom) or select it in the panel menu
    OK the dialog asking for data (settings are not really important). When doing it a 2nd time, it'll ask you to overwrite something called an 'assignment file'.
    Select any frame on your view, and choose "Add to Assignment" in the Assignment panel menu, or right-click and select "InCopy" (!), then "Add to Assignment". From the pop-up list, choose the bottom one (that's the one you added in the previous step).
    Not seeing any changes? Select "Show Assigned Frames" in the View menu.
    Now the frame will have the outline/fill color that was active in the Add Assignment dialog -- mine is blue, but it may be user related.
    To remove:
    Open the Assignment panel
    Select the offending frame
    Hit the little Trash button at the bottom, or alternatively, select "Unlink Content" in the panel menu.
    As an afterthought, is it possible this document ever went through an assignment phase? It may ID is lagging behind and did not remove all extraneous data when it should have. Try this:
    Export the document to one of type "InDesign Interchange" (INX)
    Use "Open" to open this document again.
    Save under a different name (INX --rarely-- may cause a problem)
    It just might help.
