Tecra M3 PTM30A: BSOD while booting - How to reinstall the Win XP?

Hey
Ive got a Toshiba Tecra M3 model number PTM30A-029002 and iv recently experienced a problem which I think a virus did.
When I start computer normally it goes to XP loading screen then goes to a blue screen saying stop: c000021a (Fatal System Error)' and just stay on the screen till i turn off. This happens every time
When I tried to start in safe mode it bring up all these letter and numbers then it just restarts.
I was told to use recovery from my windows XP CD but I do not know how to reboot from the cd. I press F2 at beginning and red Toshiba logo comes up with these different pictures at the bottom to select and Ive tried all but none work
plz help as I need this fixed as soon as possible as this is not actually my own laptop thanks

As far as I know its not possible to boot from a common external USB CD/DVD drive!!!
You will need an external CD/DVD drive with PCMCIA card which could be more expensive as an internal CD/DVD drive.
Therefore I would recommend choosing the internal, supported CD/DVD drive.
However, I dont know if you have tried to boot from the CD correctly.
The point is that you dont have to press the F2 button but you have to press F12 button to get the boot menu on the screen.
Then choose the ODD (CD/DVD) as a boot source and try to boot from the Toshiba recovery CD.
Check this!!!

  • How to remove boot options while booting in mac with the options key

I've just installed windows trough bootcamp, but somethings went little bit wrong,
Everythings works fine, mac works and windows 7 works properly. But when i hold down the option key while booting i dont have the normal 3 options (Mac, Windows, Mac Restore). I now see these options (MAC, Windows, Windows, Windows efi, mac restore).
    MAC -> works fine
1e windows -> (error no operating system installed)
    2e windows -> works fine
3e Efi windows (boots into mac)
    MAc restore -> works fine
So is there an way to clean up these options?
    Thanks

You think someone will use Boot Camp Assistant?
EFI is / was always there. Sometimes it shows up (from using Disk Warrior).
Windows has its own 100MB system reserved as well that is the boot area.
I'd start with Lion Recovery, show hidden features and partitions, and check the health of all, and repair HFS volume.
Also try your Windows DVD and see if it sees a problem.

Well then when you erased your hard drive, your erased the Recovery partition, also.
Use Internet Recovery to either restore from your Time Machine backup or reinstall the OS if you don't have a TM Backup.
It will install the OS that shipped on that Mac. You can then upgrade via the App Store.

I would like to know how to reinstall the icloud on my ipad2, version5.1. Thank you

You don't reinstall iCloud. What exactly do you want to do - restore from an iCloud backup? If so, you have to erase the device and start all over again in order to get to the iCloud backup.

How to reinstall the previous vesion from new version?

Previous version of what ? If you mean iOS then downgrading it is not supported.
If you mean a particular app then have got the previous version of it anywhere ? If you have then you can delete the current version of it from your iPhone and computer's iTunes, then add the old version to your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library and then sync it to your iPhone.

  • How to install the Win XP on my notebook

I have purchased a Satellite notebook, which came with Vista installed and a couple of discs to "rollback" to XP if I so desired.
I find Vista to be an absolute dog of a product, so I inserted my XP disc and waited.
Turns out there is no autorun file on the CD, and no obvious choice of a file to run at all.
Can anyone explain how to return my notebook to the XP operating system?

First of all it would be really useful to know what notebook you have.
Secondly Im asking myself if you have read some threads here in the forum regarding the Win XP installation before you crated this posting
Im not quite sure what the problem could be but Ive got an assumption.
Its possible that you didnt boot up from the Win XP disk. You said you have insered it and waited
The disk should be inserted and the notebook should be OFF.
Then power up the notebook and boot up from the bootable disk
The other possibility could be that you didnt install the SATA drivers (which are necessary for all newer notebooks) and therefore the Win XP cannot recognize the HDD and cannot go through the full setup.
I recommend checking and reading some treads here in the forum regarding the SATA driver and Intel Storage Manger.

  • How to reinstall the database components of BI Publisher (11.1.1.5)

    Hi,
We're using BI Publisher 11.1.1.5 installed within an existing Weblogic 10.3.6 instance running on Oracle Linux 5.6.
We installed it against an existing 10g test database.
We decided to refresh the database from the production system and we had to rebuild the test db from scratch, meaning we lost all BIP components installed in it.
We re-ran the BIP RCU to create the schemas but we can't see how we can reinstall the other required BIP database components without doing a full deinstall and then install of everything.
The other required db components are such things as the bipcatalog java classes. These are not installed by the RCU from what it seems.
We have another test database with the BIP components in it and I can see them there so we could export/import them if necessary, but I thought there must be a way to use an assistant or something to do it.
Any ideas how to go about reinstalling just the db objects?
    Thanks,
    Dave

I have found out what it was that needed loading into the database, it wasn't BI Publisher specific after all. It is the database callout utility and JPublisher classes, which are used when calling out to invoke web services. They're loaded using loadjava command into the database.

hi i have adifficult to acess itune. the avfoundationCF.dll is missing on my laptop error 7( windows error 126).how to reinstal it,thanks for your help

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

  • Portege 3490, Windows won't boot - how to reinstall?

    Hi,
i have bought a secondhand portege laptop in US a few months ago. it was quite a bargain, though unfortunately it came without both floppy and cd drives, only with external network adaptor.
The problem is that now WinXP doesn't boot up due to some mess i have done with Acronis partitioning software- dos prompt just says:
    Starting Acronis Loader...
Acronis Loader: No configuration file present.
    Press <Enter> to reboot...
I suppose it wouldn't be much of a problem if i had floppy and/or cd drive. Though i would rather avoid buying one just for one-time OS installation. (normally i use lan connection to transfer files between my computers).
Anyway, i would greatly appreciate if you could tell me how to boot/install OS using network LAN connection (how to turn my stationary pc into a dhcp server and share cd-rom drive over the network, etc.). I alredy tried to search the internet for this, but there is surprisingly poor feedback on this subject, and toshiba as well didn't write anything about this in the manual...
    best regards,
    aldous

    Hi
Well I think somewhere there should be the info that it supports booting from LAN (PXE). But since this reqiures some heave stuff behind the LAN it might prove a bit difficult telling the whole story in the manual.
Anyway, the way I am familiar with this is that you can boot the machine from LAN (or rather install the machine from LAN) if you have a RIS (Remote Installation Server) available. This is not something that poeple generally have in their homes. What it takes is a Win2000 / XP or possibly Win2003 server with DHCP server active. You also need to prepare a special 'image' of the installation media (but there is a guide helping you with this in Win2000 server at least).
After that it should be pretty straightforward. Booting the machine from LAN, getting an IP and accepting to download the bootstrap from the server, logging on and then it really looks as if you are booting from a Windows Media.
So in short - to use this you need Win2000/XP/2003 server and the Windows media of choice. Some LAN cables and possibly a switch/hub.
If you can get hold of a PC Card (16 bit!) CD Rom and can make a bootable CD Rom then that might prove easier.
Theoratically you could also move your HDD to another PC, and there either
    - install Windows on it
    or
make 2 partitions and copy the Windows media to the second, make the first bootable with f.ex. DOS/Win9X, move it back and install Windows to the first partition when the disk is back in the 3490.
But both theese 2 varaints gives 2 potential problms and they both are complicated to solve:
If You install only DOS/Win9X on the HDD you will probably get problems booting the HDD when you put it back in the 3490.
If You install windows on the HDD you will probably both get problems booting the HDD and also getting windows to load properly due to differences in chipsets.
Sorry for a lot of words :)
    Good luck!
    Tom

  • HOW TO REINSTAL THE OS SO YOUR AUDIGY 2 WO

    / Save all your settings:
    Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Files and Setting Transfer Wizard
2/ Ensure BIOS is correct (This is based on an Intel board but other boards have
    similar features and commands)
a/ Enter BIOS setup by repeatedly pressing F2 on power up.
i/ Non Intel users may have to press DEL rather than F2
b/ Go to exit menu and select optimal defaults.
    c/ Exit and save changes
d/ Reboot and enter BIOS setup again
e/ Go to Boot menu and select Boot Device Priority and select your master optical
    dri've as the first priority
f/ Go to Advanced/Peripheral Configuration, select Audio and set to disabled
g/ Go to Advanced/USB Configuration, select USB Legacy Support to HiSpeed
    h/ Exit and save changes
3/ Ensure that the Audigy card is in PCI slot 3.
4/ Insert your Windows CD in the master optical dri've and restart the PC.
a/ When you get the message press any key to boot from CD, press enter
b/ On the welcome to Setup screen, press enter

g/ Follow the instructions in the rest of the installation screens.
5/ Go back into BIOS and change st Boot device back to dri've C:.
6/ Install devices - They MUST BE INSTALLED IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER
or don't be surprised if your card still does not work at the end of the process.
After completing each step reboot the PC twice.
    a/ INF chipset update
b/ Windows update, for XP user that includes SP2
c/ Video card including driver updates.
d/ Audigy card - Your soundcard will now work, after this point check that your
Audigy still works after installing each device. Do not update the drivers yet.

    f/ All other devices
g/ If you absolutely feel you need to update your Audigy drivers do it now.
    7/ Install applications
8/ Use the wizard from step to install your settings.

I am very surprised you have a problem and I suspect its not an Audigy driver problem. Please confirm:
. its a 32 bit CPU or 64 bit CPU running a 32 bit OS
    2. you are running default bios settings
    3. you are not overclocking
    4. at the end of step 6d the audigy is not working
    5. its a full retail version of the card
    Can try something else:
    6. use this installation ISO http://forums.creative.com/creativel....id=2336#M2336
    7. disconnect from any network hardware
    8. disable anti virus
    9. after installing the audigy disable your optical dri'ves
    0. how big is your power supply?
. do your front panel usb connectors work?
