Tecra M5-106: Display with 1024 * 768 resolution is not clear

I buy Toshiba Tecra M5-106, it is 14.1" screen.
When i set the screen resolution to 1024 * 768, every thing comes not clear... also the fonts is not good. Could be the sharpness or other?
Any one see this before, or have solution for this?
Solving this is highly appreciated.
Ragards,

Hello Bualim,
The M5 is a really great notebook with very good characteristics. There are versions of this notebook with a NVIDIA graphic card (NVIDIA® Quadro® NVS 110M 128 MB DDR2) and others with an INTEL chipset. I don't know which one your model has unless you post the model code that is printed under your notebook.
According to some research I made, the native resolution of your monitor should be 1400x1050 so you should leave your notebook to work in this resolution rather than something lower like 1024x768.
You might say, "the fontsize is too small in 1400x1050", nevertheless you should NOT change into lower resolution (the common procedure done on the old CRT Monitor) but have the size adjusted through Window's "Appearance settings" on the "Display properties". This is the right way to go on a TFT screen (notebook): Always keep the maximum (your native) resolution and adjust the size of icons and fonts through software settings within windows.
Ok, getting back to your problem now:
=Have you all display drivers loaded into your system? (The correct ones for your graphic card?)
=Is your Graphic card recognized correctly in the "Device manager menu" without any "yellow conflict" signs?
You will find the most (Toshiba supplied) recent Display drivers in the dedicated upgrade section for your model. Here is a tiny-link to the Toshiba Display driver for your model. Make sure to choose the correct chipset (nvidia OR INTEL).

  • EXACTLY what cable(s) do I need to connect my MacBook Pro (early 2011) to an external display with a 2560x1440 resolution?

I am trying to connect my MacBook Pro (early 2011 w/ Intel HD 3000/ 384Mb) to an external display with a 2560x1440 resolution. Specifically, what cable/connections do I need to display at this resolution? I cannot get the display to work using a "Thunderbolt to HDMI" or a "Thunderbolt to DVI" connector.  Note:  I used both older and newer (uni-directional) HDMI cables on the first config, and a Dual-link DVI cable on the second config.   Apple specs state this is possible ( support.apple.com/kb/SP619 ), but I am at a loss as to how this can be done.  Thanks in advance for the help!

You use a Mini DisplayPort to either HDMI or dual-link DVI adapter. If that component doesn't work, something's wrong with either the cable or something else in the connection.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).
On the basis of the specifications you have given for your set up, mirroring should work.

My iphone plus is bending, what does Apple offer regarding this issue?
I am trying to get to contact with Apple Customer Care, but not clear to me how to do it beside this channel of communication. I bought the phone from kosovar carrier which is under Slovenian ownership. This means that the original warranty comes from Slovenia, bit complicated but still I would like to get an urgent answer how to proceed with this issue, thanks

Maybe i should have only asked if anyone is aware on apple's policy
regarding bending. I took the point that this seems not a proper forum to
pose Q's to apple thanks to both

  • Tecra 8000 notebook - display with almost ZERO luminosity

    Hi all,
I have a problem with luminosity settings for my Tecra 8000.
I have lowered the luminosity to minimum values but now I am not able to bring it back to a "visible" level.
Thank you for any advice you may have.... it is just frustrating!

    Hi
When the computer operates on power through the AC adaptor, the display screens image ill be somewhat brighter than when it operates on battery power. The lower brightness level is intended to save battery power.
If you start the computer with the AC adaptor plugged in and unplug the computer during operation, the brightness level wills not decrease even though the computer is operating under battery power. In this case battery operating time will be shortened.

  • 20" Cinema display with USB and firewire ports not working

I have a new 20" display and was wondering why my USB and fire wire ports at the back are not working. I have an external drive that is powered hooked up to the fire wire port and a no powered piano keyboard to a usb port.
    Any help please

Verify that the display’s USB and FireWire cables are firmly plugged in to the
computer. Do they show in your profiler?
Try different ports in the computer.
Verify that your computer ports are working with other known problem free device.

  • My screen resolution is not clear and colors are not correct

My screen resolution is off and colors are off and there is no help on users guide

Resolution and coloures are 'off' how ? Is it on every app and on the homescreen ? In terms of resolution are you refferring to using iPod / iPhone apps with '2x' enabled ?
Have you tried a reset to see if that makes any difference ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Problem with the variable in FM not cleared.

    Hi all,
I'm using RM_BACKFLUSH_GO function module for BackFlushing a serial number. Inside this FM other function module MB_CREATE_GOODS_MOVEMENT is called inside this function module there is variable called XCOMMIT and this is not getting cleared when i called RM_BACKFLUSH_GO.
I found that, this variable is set in another function call BAPI_HU_UNPACK in the same program.
Inside BAPI_HU_UNPACK, the MB_POST_GOODS_MOVEMENT is called where the variable is set.
I'm not able to clear this variable XCOMMIT. I have tried calling the perform clear_xcommit in program LMBWLFE0 from my program, but it didnt worked.
Can anybody tell me how to clear this variable.
    Thanks n Regards

    Hi,
You can clear the variable dynamically from the call stack
    Data: l_f_stack(72) type c value '(SAPLMBWL)XCOMMIT'.
    Field-symbols: <fs> type any.
    Assign (l_f_stack) to <fs>.
    If <fs> is assigned.
    clear <fs>.
    endif.
    Hope this will help you

  • Multiple displays with different resolutions

The system is setup with two non-mirrored displays with the following resolutions: A) 1024x768 and B) 1280x1024 arranged as BA with A the menu'd display using an ATI 9000 Pro for Mac. During startup, approximately once inch worth of the menu's right items momentarily appear on the right side of display B 768 pixels down from the top. This problem only occurs in this BA configuration of differing resolutions and is independent of graphics cards (substituted the 9000 Pro with a mirror only AGP Navidia card and a mirror only PCI ATI Rage card combination which gave the same result). This problem first appeared using MacOS 10.3 which displayed several inches of menu instead of only an inch under MacOS 10.4. Anyone else seen this problem?
Dual 800 MHz QuickSilver   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Over the weekend, I explained this problem to one of the Apple Geniuses at an Apple store and then was able to duplicate the issue using a lap top and attached monitor in the store (not the same resolutions as my system; but, screens of similarly different resolutions). I raise this issue again because, as of late, additional things have been happening and I wonder if these are related to the core issue of an expanded desktop with two different screen resolutions. All of the widgets on the larger resolution screen desktop are drawing in the menu located in the smaller resolution screen when hitting the "i" to gain access to its control panel; however, not effecting the menu at all when moved to the smaller resolution screen. The other has to do with screen savers periodically blanking both monitors (as though the graphics card went to sleep) or having both monitors lose syncing (first occurrence today) where a cold start is required to bring the monitors on line again (I am going to have to figure out a way to test if the system is actually sleeping or the monitors have only gone blank before cold starting the system).

G Toolbox has a set of VIs can do this:
    Enumerate Display Mode: Enumerate all supported display modes(width, height, color depth, & frequency) on your computer;
    Get Display Mode: Get current screen resolution, color depth, and frequency;
    Restore Display Mode: Restore the screen resolution, color and frequency to the registry values dynamically;
Set Display Mode: Change screen resolution, color and frequency dynamically, with option of change registry settings.  If no change, the previous settings can be restored with Restore Display Mode, or reboot.

  • Not clear images with lower screen resolutions on Tecra M5

    Hi,
we have some M5s with Intel graphics board which work fine with the usual 1024*768 screen resolution.
Now we are buying some new M5s equipped with nVidia Quadro, and they seem to have a native resolution of 1400*1050.
If I try to scale resolution to 1024*768 or even 1280*1024, images are badly out of focus. But I think icons at 1400*1050 on a 14" display are really too small, for the average of users.
    No solution?
    thanks

This is to do with the native resolution of the LCD. Unless you display at maximum resolution, any attempt to work at a lower resolution will require the graphics card to rescale, causing the resultant image to blur as the graphics card interpolates.
The only solution is to use Windows Vista because the GUI has been designed for larger native LCD resolutions, meaning the icons are designed bigger (approx. twice the size of XP)

  • XGA 1024*768 with 60Hz

I would use my old iBook for slideshows on tv. But my tv can only play 1024*768 with 60 hz (not 75 hz). How can i change the refresh-rate?

How are you connecting the iBook to your TV?
If your iBook has an analog or S-video output, go into System Preferences > Monitors.
You should see that there is an "Arrange" tab. Click it and you will see two monitor icons.
One is for the computer the other is for your TV. You can change the refresh rate on the TV icon's settings there. It is not possible, or neccessary to change the refresh rate on the computers LCD display.
