Tecra M5/M9: Are the batteries compatible?

I run both of these models and occasionally get caught out with a flat battery. J
ust wondering if the batteries are interchangeable between the two they appear to have the same shape and output?
Thanks

Well, according to the Toshibas Options & Accessories website the both machines would supports the same battery which is a Battery Pack PA3509U-1BRM.
Tecra M9 supports:
Battery Pack (Li-Ion, 5100mAh, 6 Cell) PA3588U-1BRS
Extended Capacity Battery Pack (Li-Ion, 7050mAh, 9 Cell) PA3509U-1BRM
Tecra M5 supports:
Extended Capacity Battery Pack (Li-Ion, 7050mAh, 9 Cell) PA3509U-1BRM
So as you can see you can use a PA3509U-1BRM battery in both notebooks

You will find internal optical drivers from OWC here. You will find external DVD burners from OWC here.
For the external drives, almost any Firewire burner will be supported by your PowerBook. Here are a few. You can further refine the filters.

  • 2008 MacBook - Are the batteries the same in the black and white models?

    Hi all,
I am looking at picking up a black 2008 2.4GHz MacBook (on the cheap) with a crook battery and super drive. I have another super drive so that is not an issue, but I am wondering if the batteries are the same as the white 2008 models. I have a couple of white batteries from the 2008 models that still have some life in them. Will they fit the BlackBook?
    Many thanks in advance

If you have a MacBook with the removable battery you can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay.

  • Tecra S11 - What are the two primary partitions for?

    Hello everybody
I just got myself a new Tecra S11 with Win7 64 and there's one thing that wonders me a littlebit.
There are four partitions in total, for sure there's the Recovery one (1.46 GB) and the System one (256.38 GB), but then there are also two primary partitions (8.86 and 31.38 GB) without any displayed use or file system. There's no non-allocated space.
Can somebody tell me what these two partitions are for ? Because I want to split the system partition up to store my data on a separated one, if possible I also want to use that "unknown" space then ;)
Besides that: Don't worry, I already made recovery DVDs.
    Greetings
    Nico

This is funny: I just recreated the entire Harddrive using the recovery DVDs, now the two primary partitions are gone and the space is integrated into the system one, lovely :)
Is this maybe a faulty pre installation ?

  • Are the adjustments compatible between LR1.0 and ACR 4.0

    Hi there,
I couldnt find information yet so I post my question here.
Does anbody know, if the final version of LR will be fully compatible with Photoshop CS2, ACR 3.6 or Photoshop CS3, 4.0 Adobe Camera Raw?
I would like to keep all my adjustments stored in the DNG sidecar files made by any Adobe RAW converter (LR1 or ACR) + updated previews synchronized.
Until now in the beta versions they arent.

    From Adobe® Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 Q&A (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshoplightroom/)-
    Q. Will my raw images look the same in Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop Lightroom?
    A. Yes. Photoshop Lightroom leverages the same, core Adobe Camera Raw technology used in Photoshop CS2. This means that not only will raw images look the same in either application, but also that changes you make in Photoshop Lightroom will appear automatically in Camera Raw, and vice versa. To complete this interactivity, Photoshop CS2 users will need to be sure the integrated Adobe Camera Raw component is updated to version 3.7, and both Camera Raw and Lightroom changes need to be written to XMP metadata in order for each software to recognize the others edits. This functionality is set in the preferences in each product.

  • Re: Tecra A10 - where are the release notes for updated BIOS?

    Hi,
I have a problem with my Tecra A 10, it occassionally shuts itself down.
I've updated from BIOS 1.4 to BIOS 3.0 to see if this fixes it.
I can't find any release notes to see what has changed between BIOS revisions, can someone point me to them?
    Thanks
    Dominic

    Hi as***,
Thanks for that, exactly what I was looking for.
I won't know if it's fixed it or not until I run the laptop for a few days as it only happens every now and again.
I can already see faster boot times after the bios update though, which is one of the things listed in the bios change history so it was worth updating it.
The laptop is only a few months old, I checked the heat sink before I updated the bios as I read this shutdown problem can be caused by overheating due to a clogged heat sink but mine is clean already.
It also has a problem with the USB ports, sometimes when I plug in a USB device it blue screens, again not consistently, just every now and again. I'm hoping the bios update might help with that as well but still going to look at any other firmware that might help as well.
    Thanks
    Dominic

  • How long are the batteries for the Apple Wireless Keyboard supposed to last

I have an Apple Wireless Keyboard using Bluetooth to connect to my MBP. I'm using the keyboard about 10–12 hours a day. The battery typically lasts for only a month or two. Is this a normal life, or should it last longer than that? I've heard of experiences in which the battery can last upwards of a year.

You might as well use the macbook pro keyboard or purchase a wired keyboard to save on a monthly battery bill.
If 2 or 3 bucks every 1-2 months is that big of an issue, I agree.
But I bought and use mine for convenience, and that convenience is worth far more than the $2-3 for 3 AA alkaline batteries I spend as needed, even if it were on a monthly basis. Of course, if the built in keyboard serves you better, or a wired KB, certainly that would be the way to go (though I'm not sure why one would purchase a BT AWKB if that were the case). Think of what you spend money on for convenience. $3 a month, or 10 cents per day, or less than a penny per hour, for the convenience you apparently want (you bought the KB) works fine from my perspective. I look at the cost for me to golf, bike, fish, canoe, camp, ski, snowboard, scuba dive, eat out, travel, buy electronics and furniture, vehicles, clothes, etc. etc. etc. and if I could get those down to a penny an hour . . . well, it isn't going to happen.

  • Are T61 batteries compatible with T410s?

I have a T61 extended battery and want to use it with my T410 - are they compatible? Thanks for any help you can provide!

No, its a completely different battery.

  • Why are the batterie on the iPod touch not so good?

when i charge my ipod 4 gen it say its 75% but if i use it for like 5mins it says 20% left then it shuts down also why do they over heat when you charge it or play on it.thanks

From your description you may have a hardware problem like maybe a battery problem.  To rule out a software problem I would :
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPOd
If still problem I would make an appointment at ther Gewnius Bar of an Apple store.

  • The batteries are stuck in my trackpad!

Batteries are dead and I can't get them out. I don't see any visible signs of corrosion but then again I can't see anything but the negative end of only 1 battery. I've tried everything I can think of to get them out and they're not budging. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the suggestion. These are the batteries that actually came with my track pad. I made the foolish decision to recharge them even though they aren't rechargeable. They worked fine for about a month until they swelled slightly. The first battery slid right out, but the second one was jammed in there.
I drilled a shallow pilot hole then used a 2 1/2 " deck screw - it slid right out when I pulled back on the drill.

  • Are CS6 layers compatible with CS5?

We have recently updated to CS6.  When I created layers on a photo in CS6 then went to open it on another computer that still had CS5 the layers would not open.  Are the versions compatible in this way or do all the computers we use need to be updated to CS6?

When editing a photo I was adding boxes and arrows.  Each box or arrow is a
layer.  I later went to another computer in the network that had not been
upgreaded to CS 6 and I could see that the layers that were created were
there but I could not view the edits that were made.

  • If the batteries exploded inside my wireless mouse, do i need to buy a new mouse?  any thoughts about saving my mouse?  thank you!  nancy

if the batteries exploded inside my wireless mouse, do i need to buy a new mouse? any thoughts about saving my mouse? thank you! nancy

The chemicals or materials from inside the batteries can cause circuit
damage in the mouse, the mouse may need to be replaced. You may
have to check with the battery manufacturers customer relations to see
if they offer guarantees covering products damaged those batteries...
And those chemicals may remain as a health concern since the mouse
cannot be subjected to washing, since there are electrical parts inside.
How old is the mouse, and how old are the batteries?
Some products have a limited warranty or guaranty.
In some locations, that may be longer than in others.
Were the batteries rechargeable or disposable?
I'd consult an Apple Store and genius bar about the mouse and issues
or concerns about the cause (or blame?) of the leaking batteries, or
which way to go in that matter. I cannot suggest what else to do; we're
not Apple representatives, but in a retail Apple Store they have options.
    Good luck & happy computing!
