Tecra M5 - Need graphics card driver to run a widescreen resolution

I have a Tecra M5 with the Intel 945GM Express chipset. Is there a driver available that will allow me to run a widescreen monitor sucessfully?
At the moment the screen is stretched and I do not have the 1280x960 setting available to me as an option.
Help!!!!

Try to download the graphic driver from the Intel page. This is a original Intel GPU driver which could helps to use an widescreen resolution.
After choosing the appropriate driver for your operating system, download the driver file to a location on your harddisk.
The downloaded driver cannot be installed since the Toshiba driver is still present and needs to be removed.
To remove the driver perform the following steps:
1. Go to Control Panel by clicking on "Start" -> "Control Panel" -> "Add or Remove Programs" and choose the "Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver"
2. Click on "Change/Remove" and remove the driver by following the uninstall wizard
3. Restart the machine and install the driver by opening the downloaded file
4. Restart your machine
5. After restart, connect your external screen to your machine
6. Right-click on the desktop and left-click on "Properties"
7. Go to "Settings" -> "Advanced" -> "Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile" -> "Graphics Properties"
8. To set the native resolution on the external screen, choose the mode in the Section "Display Devices" and the resolution in "Display Settings"
9. Make sure to disable the screen rotation, otherwise your screen will be rotated when choosing a wrong resolution.

I spent 2 weeks (18 hr/day) making a video using Cyberlink Power Director. Upon producing it so I could download to a DVD I received message that I needed to update the graphics card in my new L55-A5290?! I connected with Intel and was directed to remove the Intel graphics drive from the computer and was given a download to install a new and improved Intel graphics drive. This laptop would not accept it  - "was not compatible". So now I need to install one from Toshiba.... ASAP. I need this video tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where is this downoad. Nowhere on the list of drivers do I see one for GRAPHICS. I NEED HELP NOW!

  • Satellite L655-19H - Need graphic card driver for Windows 8

    Hello!
I have a problem with VGA drivers on my L655-19H in Windows 8. Last drivers on Toshiba site only for windows 7 and don't work with my W8.
I instal drivers manually, but some games tell me "bad video card drivers". Microsoft drivers dont work too.
    Sry for my english.

As Silas wrote, the Win 8 system isnt supported for this notebook model.
I found on Toshiba page an Win 8 supported model matrix and this series isnt listed.
This means that Win 8 drivers will not be available.
If you need Win 8 graphic drivers, you will need to search at your own hand on some 3rd party websites like omegadrivers.net or similar.
As Im not mistaken the notebook uses the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphic chip.

  • PS CC telling me that my graphics card driver needs an update... any ideas?

I have just tried to use a filter on PS CC and PS tells me that I need to make sure my performance settings are allowing accerated graphics card use. When I go into the preferences to check, there is a note telling me to update my graphics card driver. This isn't being picked up with a software update and when I check for a driver update manually, they are all executable files...
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
HI have HP 15-r074tu - with DOS..
I have installed Win 7 Home premium - 64 Bit.
Please note that this is the first time I am tring to install the drivers as the Laptop was bought - 25th OCT 2014 with Dos.
    I have Few issues
    1. I have Tried installing the following
    Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver
    sp66556.exe
     Version - 10.18.10.3408
But it says that " it does not meet minimum requirments" and the driver does not install..! - I do not have any special graphic card on this its just the plain intel Graphics
Can you please share the correct Graphics card Driver..
    2. In my keyboard - none of the special functions work - even after pressing Fn (or) without pressing
Basic mode of the keyboard is ok.. (Unable to reduce the brightness, unable to mute or increase or reduce volume..)
    - Do I need install any keyboard drivers - Currently it says "ps2 keyboard" in driver manager..
    - Do I need to install the touch pad software to solve this?
    - or is this because of Graphics card driver missing..?
    3. lastly wireless, blue tooth and PCI drivers - not to be found in the HP Site..
So I tried a old software for blue tooth... but the Wireless radio button is off/Amber and unable to turn back on due to above mentioned keyboard issue..

    Please help..

    Hi:
Install the Intel chipset driver first and reboot if you have not done so already.

  • How to check Graphic Card driver?

How can I found out what Graphics Card driver I am running on my MacBook Pro? I open About This Mac, click on More Info, look at Graphics/Displays, but I'm not sure which number or whatever is the driver.

I'm going stick my head out on a limb and guess you are recent PC convert and are used to having to keep on top of the latest drivers and such. If that's the case with a Mac you don't need to do that and cannot download graphics card updates. What you can do is run Software Update and if there are any new updates (graphics or otherwise) it will let you know. It will then download and install those updates to your system. I believe what you are looking at is System Profiler which (as you have already seen) doesn't provide any more specifics than what you have already seen.

  • Qosmio X505 - System Recovery CD + webcam and graphics card driver

I need some answers from anyone regarding my Toshiba Qosmio X505 notebook.
I bought this notebook back in July of this year and I am having problems with it already.
Number one, my most important concern is a system recovery disk. $1,500+ dollars I spent on this computer with a warranty it didn't come with any system recovery CD.
Once a year on all my computers I like to reinstall Windows as it makes the computer brand new again (I constantly work and even go to school on my laptop so I can't help if scrap piles up on it and it slows down after a while). What am I to do about this?
I think I read on this forums a while back that the computer came with something to create a backup disc.
I found the program "Toshiba Recovery Media Creator" that appears to create a "System Recovery."
Would this be what I am looking for to create a backup of the computers OS and preinstalled software? I want to keep all my Toshiba utilities as well as the required software to play Blu Ray movies.
Number two, the web cam. This ain't a big deal as I hardly use it but sometimes when I start the computer I get an error message saying the web camera failed to initalize and then it doesn't work at all.
What gives? This should automatically work!
Number three, my graphics card/driver has been having some problems. Particurarily when I watch videos or run something like Windows Movie Maker. My screen will completely go black and and come back on and I get an error saying something like "NVidia has crashed and Recovered", I can't remember the exact error message, I archived it in Windows Error messages and it didn't save it for some reason. How do I fix this?
I got the latest graphics card drivers from NVidia that were appropriate for this computer and for some reason it crashes alot.
Any answers to these problems is appreciated.
I love this laptop but at the same time for the price of it compared to a cheap $300 other laptop I don't expect to have any problems with the web camera or editing videos. This computer should have rock solid drivers.

    > I found the program "Toshiba Recovery Media Creator" that appears to create a "System Recovery."
    > Would this be what I am looking for to create a backup of the computers OS and preinstalled software?
Yes, this is the tool which creates the Recovery Disk. The recovery disk allows you t set the notebook back to the factory settings.
    > Number two, the web cam. This ain't a big deal as I hardly use it but sometimes when I start the computer > I get an error message saying the web camera failed to initialize and then it doesn't work at all.
    > What gives? This should automatically work
The webcam is controlled by Chicony webcam software. This software needs to be started in order to use the webcam. But also the 3rd party tools like MS messenger or Skype has an access to webcam and sometimes such tools can affect the webcam functionality.
Its hard to say why this happens but mostly everything works properly. But from time to time its needed to reinstall the webcam software.
This means that graphic card driver has crashed and has been started again.
Usually the graphic card driver should sort out such issues.

  • [Solved] The framebuffer, Grub, and graphics card driver

I'm running Arch on a 15.1" laptop, and the natural resolution for my LCD is 1366x768.
X has no problem of adjusting itself to the right resolution. The console can do this too, but only when I have the open-source graphics card driver (xf86-video-ati). If I try catalyst in the AUR, the console falls back to 800x600, characters being wide and blur. Grub seems to suffer from a similar problem. It always present me with a 800x600 menu, and the early userspace booting is in this resolution too.
I followed the instructions in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Gr … resolution and the following is what I found out.
I couldn't find the package lrmi in the repo. (I doubt the wiki page is outdated.) I did find vbetool, but it doesn't provide vbetest. Taking the next approach, running sudo hwinfo --framebuffer gives:

No 1366x768. Taking the last approach, I added "vga=ask" to the Grub entry. Again no 1366x768. How can I get the resolution set to 1366x768 during Grub and/or early userspace booting? Or is it simply impossible?

So...  I should follow https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AT … _KMS_start, since I have an ATI card and I've decided to stick with the free driver(at least for now).
Still one question: to use KMS early(this is what I want), I need to regenerate the initial image(mkinitcpio). What's the worst result if it fails? Will mkinitcpio make no complaints but give me an unusable image? I'm asking the questions both in general and in my specific case(trying to enable KMS during early start).

  • Updating graphics card driver for G5350uk

    Hi
We have a G5350uk desktop. Serial Number:   [edited Serial Number by Moderator]  Product Number:   XS612EA.  Its running 64bit windows7 and internet explorer 8, which is no longer compatible with a number of web pages so we wanted to upgrade to ie11.
Except we can't upgrade because we don't have service pack 1 installed.  Service Pack1 can't be installed because our graphics card driver is one of those that stops the windows update from functioning properly and detecting Service Pack 1.
So I tried to upgrade the device driver, but its says its the most current one, so I loaded the Intel untility which told me I needed to source the driver from the manufacturer.
So I came to the G5350 support page and allowed it to scan my PC.  I get then get into a loop with the annoying message pasted below.
HP was unable to verify that you have this product, but did find other products.

Which is all very frustrating as i'm clearly searching for the right thing, the web site says it can't find what I'm looking for but then tells me its found exactly what I'm looking for!  When I select the option suggested it just goes back around in the same loop.
I stil don't have an updated graphics card driver to get around the Service Pack installation issue and so still can't look at an increasing number of websites.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks

    Mazrak, welcome to the forum.
This is the only driver that is available for your Integrated Video.  You can't use retail versions of drivers for HP's Integrated Video.
I suggest uninstalling the current driver by going into Control Panel / Device Manager / Display adapters.  Right click on your adapter and select "Uninstall".  Then, you can install the driver that I provided and reboot.  This may solve your problem if a glitch has occurred.

  • Have Upgrade Graphic Card Driver, But Still Cannot Adjust Screen Brightness and Sleep Button Not Showing After Clean Installation of Windows 8.1

I have done clean installation of Windows 8.1 on my HP Pavilion G4.
Then I realize that I cannot put my computer on sleep mode and cannot adjust screen brightness.
I understand that those problems caused by the graphic card driver.
My computer is running on AMD Radeon HD 6400 series.
Thus, I manually search on internet and found a latest graphic card update on microsoft site that is claimed compatible on windows 8.1 (link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/dn344644.aspx).
I've upgraded it into the latest one. I've check on Device Manager, the driver is running well.
But my problem did not solved!
    Please give me the solution!

    Hi,
How about go to Device Manager, then uninstall Graphic driver and restart your computer, system will install its build in graphic drver. You can have a try.
In addition, access to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Brightness and set its value to 100 for test.

  • Can't install a graphic card driver.

    Hi,
I recently installed Windows XP Home Edition on my Mac succesfully and installed all the drivers etc...
But one day, I decided to install an official updated graphic card driver from the nVidia official site. When I run the install process, it says that it can't find compatible drivers with my hardware, even though I downloaded the correct version of it ( 9M GeForce series for notebooks for Windows XP 32bit, and my 9600M GT was in the list of compatible cards)
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my Windows isn't really a PC or something, that it is emulated I dunno. I haven't installed an anti-virus yet, maybe it's because of that ?
Please note that I installed Windows only to play games, so is it a problem not having the latest graphic card ?
    Sincerely.

sometimes I wonder why respond when it is usually just to direct people to other forums, which seems to be a habit, and they would have directed you to VMware or Parallels site normally.
I figure people do know what they are doing after a while, and don't install drivers unless they are running Windows, and I detest the "I'm running Boot Camp" which is senseless, Boot Camp is just not something you can "run" and is only a set of drivers (and services or tasks).
Okay... as I alluded to, XP doesn't allow installing graphic drivers. Not embedded or mobility. People had to run to modified drivers from laptop2go or elsewhere. It is up to Apple etc to normally provide such drivers.
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebookwinxp_195.62whql.html
And yes, IF it was a PC, and if drivers were kept current, and if you could boot into BIOS and make necessary changes.
With Windows 7, uninstalling graphic driver in Device Manager and let Windows install its own might work.

  • Update graphic card driver

Hey, guys. I have a macbook pro with 330m nvidia card on board. I started to play Skyrim(a game) in windows 7 a few days ago. Knowing the graphic card driver is not updated, I have been always ponderring on if it worth a try to update the driver on my own, instead of waiting for Apple to do it. Basically, I am not sure about the risk. Will the latest official driver overheat my laptop? Also, should I install the whole package (including Physix and others), or only the graphic card driver? Anyone who have experience please help? Thx.

Boot Camp has been a great asset for we who desire to play PC games on our Macs. A problem I see emerging is the thinning down of the laptops. Faster chips and less space means more heat to get rid of. Because of this I think we are seeing some compromise in the Macs. Until the latest round of new models the MacBook Pros pretty much kept up with the gaming PCs in regards to the processor, graphics, and RAM.
Here is a comparison of what is currently available for maxed out 15" laptops from Apple and Clevo. I assume the compactness of the Mac precludes the use of the higher performing components.
    2012 MacBook Pro Retina
    2.7GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
    16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M, 1GB GDDR5
    2012 Clevo P150EM

    32GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
    NVIDIA GTX 680M, 4GB GDDR5
As an aside I have become an Elder Scrolls enthusiast. I started out with Skyrim in January and am still working on visiting  all the places on the big map. I have also acquired Oblivion, Morrowind, and Daggerfall which are in various stages of completion. Here is what hardware I run them on.  Happy gaming.
    Skyrim - Clevo P150HM (2011) Win7

  • Lenovo G510 Graphics Cards Driver Problem

    Hi!
I just bought the Lenovo G510 Laptop, with an Radeon 8750, and installed Windows 8 64 Bit.
After installing the drivers from the provided CD, I get the following Bugcheck error code in WhoCrashed
    0xA0000001 (0x5, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0)
when rebooting ,or when I try to open the Catalyst Control Center.
Actually the AMD graphics card driver seems to be responsible, as this problem does not occur until I install this driver.
I tried to use the driver provide at the Lenovo support page too (for both Windows 8 and 7), with the same result. The ThinkVantage System Update does not install an AMD graphics driver at all.
Accordding to WhoCrashed atikmdag.sys causes this error.
I would highly appreciate any help!

    Hi Aimor,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that the Wireless driver is not getting installed in your G510 Laptop, I suggest you to download a fresh copy of the driver from the below mentioned link and while installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error:
WLAN Driver (Atheros, Broadcom, Realtek) for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)
Do post us back if the issue still persists.

  • Windows 8 Pro graphics card driver

Speaking for the touchsmart users who have the same issue, im using the Touchsmart 600-1050 we need to know if there is a graphics card update being worked on now. Windows 8 Pro runs only with the graphics card disabled but runs very choppy, the touchscreen works fine along with multitouch. There is no excuse for why windows 8 pro has no graphics card update from hp. Nvidia said that hp customises the g200 inside of the touchsmart pc's. Please reply with whether or not there is going to be an upate to the touchsmart pc, without any other comments like it hasn't been tested yet. We the customers tested it for you and demand the update that it can process. If my laptops intel hd graphics can run windows 8 than the g200 can run it on 3 monitors so it would only make sense to satisfy exicsting customers over finding new ones cause when windows 9 comes out im sure we will be right back to where we started.

Windows 8 will be (is) what Vista was to XP.
Software matures every 2 generation, such as what Windows 7 is to XP.
    Afterall, W7 is Vista SP3........
All of you W8 people that are having problems, you jumped on the band wagon too quickly.
    You all are beta testers.
You REALLY should of skipped W8, and waited for all the software to develop and mature, become available, and went with W9 when it's available.
$40.00 for the W8 upgrade,,,,,you actuall paid them to test it so they could finish developing it and the nessary software?!
You couldn't pay me enough to do that for them......
Revert back to W7, sit back and enjoy a wonderfully working OS and software, let some other person go through the greef of testing it for them.
    IMO..........
