Tecra S2 crash when dynamic CPU mode activated

I have problem with my Tecra S2.
My Tecra S2 is crash after a few second after logon to OS if dynamic CPU frequency mode is activated, but this problem doesn't occur if I set the CPU frequency to always low.
I tried several operating system but this problem still happen. Im sure is not the software problem.
Does anyone know how to solve my problem?
My last configuration is
Proc intel centrino 1.6 Ghz
1024 DDR 400 Memory
Nvidia Geforce go 6600
120 GB HDD

If the unit hangs, freezes or blue screens occur then this could be related to the faulty memory module
I would recommend replacing the memory modules and to test it with another one

[SOLVED] kwin crash when using OpenGL mode after upgrading to 4.7

I have a Ideapad Y460 (Graphic: ATi Mobility Radeon 5650). Recent days I upgrade my KDE from 4.7RC (4.6.95) to 4.7 (4.7.00) and also Catalyst from 11.6 to 11.7.
Update:
The problem has been solved. I used [kde-unsupported] source and kdebase-workspace package in that source contains OpenGL ES support while Catalyst doesn't support it. Thank @csslayer.
But when I use OpenGL mode, kwin crashed. I run
kwin --replace
to start kwin, then the Desktop Effect shows:
OpenGL compositing (the default) has crashed KWin in the past.
This was most likely due to a driver bug.
If you think that you have meanwhile upgraded to a stable driver,
you can reset this protection but be aware that this might result in an immediate crash!
Alternatively, you might want to use the XRender backend instead.
And there is a re-enable button. But the systemsettings window crashed when I pushed it.
I checked ~/.xsessiong-error and it shows this:

I downgrade Catalyst but the problem still exists while KDE4.7 RC run well on my laptop. So I'm not sure whether it is caused by kwin or by Catalyst 11.7 or other packages.

I found an solution. Go to Settings/Mail, Contact, Calendar/Fetch new data and than enable Push and choose to fetch hourly or every 30 minutes. In this case your iPad will stay connected to wifi even when smart cover is closed. If you select Manualy than wifi connection will be terminated when in sleep mode.
(Not native english speaker, hope you'll understand)

Muse theme template onegenius.muse keeps crashing when entering Preview mode

I downloaded the Muse theme template onegenius.muse and it consistently crashes when put into preview mode. I have updated Adobe Air as well as the most up to date Muse version. Here's the interesting piece, now - This does not happen with any of the previous muse websites I have worked on. Just this template I downloaded from muse-themes.com. Finder crashes when Preview column is active in list view

I've created a bootable system backup of OS X 10.10.1 on an external 1TB HD connected via firewire 800 to a 2011 iMac running OS 10.10.1.
I have had no problems with Yosemite's Finder on the iMac if I boot from the internal HD. I check to be sure which HD I've started from by having the Finder window show the Path Bar via a setting in the Finder's View menu.
The problems only appear when I boot from the external HD, then the Finder crashes when the Preview column is active in list view. I can force quit and restart the Finder via the Force Quit Applications (command-option-escape) tool. I can open files from within an open application but cannot open files by clicking on the file directly, as long as the Finder is set to Show the Preview column. I prefer to work in list view, so suggesting I use another view doesn't solve my problem.
Another strange issue is that I can boot from the external HD if I select that HD in System Preferences > Startup Disk but not if I hold down the option key and select that HD during start-up if the Preview column is active in list view. When I try to boot from the external HD by selecting that HD during start-up, instead the computer starts up from the internal HD.
I CAN boot from the external HD if I select the external HD during boot-up IF the Preview column is NOT active in list view.
Is there a way for me to reinstall the OS on the external HD only? I did create a bootable Yosemite installer jump drive when I installed Yosemite on the iMac originally.
I've run Disk Utility on the external HD from the files available on the Recovery HD to both verify the HD and repair disk permissions to no avail.

Open Terminal application (spotlight for it). If you don't have it, get it from the Apple Support site.
In the command-line window that appears, type in:
<user>$ cd /Users/<user>/Library/Preferences
<user>$ rm com.apple.finder.plist
<user>$ ls com.apple.finder.plist
the system shouldn't return anything as the file should be gone
<user>$
exit from Terminal - you may need to restart your system at this point to recreate the com.apple.finder.plist.

Manual AntiAlias when using CPU-Mode

Hi there,
when switching to CPU-Mode (which is faster in my case) all is fine, except the scaled images look very bad.
I'm compiling with AIR 2.7 and I've read somewhere that cpu mode has no AntiAlias.
Can I use some other method / pixelmanipulation to AntiAlias my images?

Apparently bitmap smoothing is disabled for Android. It still works in iOS. A work around is to do your own bitmapData.draw() to scale the image, and in that you can specify smoothing to be true.

W540 crashes when turning airplane mode on.

I've already made this post but decided to do it again since more users have the W540 now, as well as to make things clearer.
When turning airplane mode on (F8 key), the laptop simply turns off - no BSOD.
Model: W540 20BG
OS: Windows 8.1 (happened on 8 as well)
I've tried reinstalling/resetting the OS, as well as reinstalling various drivers. Sometimes the problem will go away temporarily, but always comes back.
Has anyone had this problem/has a solution?

No, that's the only way to do it. Seriously, tapping Settings then Airplane mode, which takes about 3 seconds is really too slow? Seriously?

JVM crash when using debug mode in eclipse

Hi,
I get a SIGSEGV every time I use debug mode in Eclipse. Sometimes after a few breakpoints, sometimes when I start the debug view.
Have Eclipse helios and JRE 6.0_21-b06 but have also tried 1.6.0_03-b05 with same result.

If yes then the causes would be
1. The VM(s) binaries are corrupted. Plural as it depends on how you run Eclipse.
2. Something else installed on your system at the OS level (or at least always running) is corrupt or is corrupting the OS.
3. A hardware failure.

Ipod touch crashes when in sleep mode... needs to be reset every time

When my ipod goes into sleep ("slide to unlock") mode and has been left for more than five minutes, it won't come back to life without holding down both buttons to reset it. It also seems to kill the battery when it goes into the crash state.
This only happens with the application upgrades (maps etc) applied.
I have tried reset, restore etc. The only fix is to revert back to pre upgrade verions.
This is frustrating and makes it difficult to use the ipod. Does anyone have any similar experiences or suggestions...?

That is the first thing I tried when I got my iPod back from AppleCare and they said the technicians couldn't find anything wrong with it. I restored it in iTunes, only this time I set it up as NEW and did not restore from back-up , thinking that could have been the problem. Only mine still froze up once that night after I set it up as a new pod. So it froze up once on Thursday , no times yesterday and not at all so far today?? So maybe seting it up as a new pod and then resetting it once cleared out whatever was causing the error? I guess we will see.
Pardon my ignorance but what manner of communication did you use to speak with iPod tech support?

Office 2010 crashing when in offline mode

I have a strange one here.I have a laptop that was just sent to a user as a replacement laptop. It is running Windows 7 (x64) and Office Suite 2010.When this user opens Outlook while connected to the network (including VPN) everything is happy panda bears. However as soon as he opens Outlook without a network connection, which triggers offline mode (set to automatically detect connection state), it hangs for a few seconds (Not Responding) and then prompts with "Close Program" error window.I can replicate this by selecting the setting in Outlook to prompt for connection state during launch. If I select Offline, it hangs and crashes (same as above), if I select Online, everything works peachy.I've tried deleting and recreating his Outlook profile, to no avail. Powerpoint 2011 Crashes When Entering Slideshow Mode attached to Projector.

My MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 crashes every time I try to enter slideshow mode in Powerpoint 2011 if I am driving a projector. It does not crash if I enter slideshow mode without the projector, of if I connect to the projector but don't enter slideshow mode. I give a lot of presentations, so this is a real problem.

Confirm I have had the same problem with Office 2011 Powerpoint. Crash to unresponsive black screen, must force off with power button. 15" Mid-2010 MacBookPro 6.2 MC373C/A 4GB RAM and Snow Leopard 10.6.8
Began slowly/intermittently in July when I was working daily with the pptx. Was then crashing with a 2nd monitor attached going into slide show mode. Crash problem became more frequent over time.
Now the crash occurs with certainty in almost any configuration - slide show with 2nd monitor/projector, or without any monitor/projector or other peripherals attached, and with either the battery or 110v MagSafe power supply.
I have tried creating an alternate user account - and the problem again starts randomly and acelerates in frequency.
Uninstalled and reinstalled Office2011 for Mac as per MS instruction support pages. Same crash, on launch , when opening a file after launch, or when clicking onto a different slide if a successful launch does occur.
Powerpoint at this time and in this condition is unuseable.
Too bad because I have another presentation to prepare and give tomorrow, and I have already paid for and now depend on the MBP, and at this time the MSOffice2011 software.
If anyone has solved why this problem is occurring (I see it occurs frequently enough that similar questions appear in many forums) - please share your insights and a solution if you have one? ThankYou.

Flash SA Projector crashes when in fullscreen mode

I've created a Flash SA Projector, it's a slideshow of sorts. It is on a timer and changes "slides" every 12 secs. It runs great inf Fullscreen Mode and normal mode. It is self running and I've let it run by itself for several hours. However, it crashes a few different cases and I'd like to know if any one can tell me why. This is happening on a new Mac Mini (Mac OS 10.7.2) - using Flash Player 10.3.183.11
Case 1: It's running in fullscreen mode and the computer goes to sleep. I wake up the computer and see the error message: "Flash Player quit unexpectedly".
Case 2: It's running in fullscreen mode and I switch applications (using Alt-Tab) - Crash! Does it when I switch to Finder or Safari. However, if I pause my application (it's a self running "slideshow"), so the timer is not running and no animations are happening, when I switch to a different application, it simple pops out of fullscreen mode and doesn't crash.
Is this a problem/bug with Flash Player? Anyone know a solution to this issue?

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

InDesign CS6 Crashing When Dynamic Printing Mac OS X 10.6.8

This started happening a few days ago sporadically and is now happening on every document. The user goes to dynamic print, everything looks good and then right before it finished InDesign closes and an error report pops up. I have tried restarting the machine and am currently in the process of confirming all Mac and Adobe updates are installed. I have thought about removing and reinstalling InDesign, but was hoping to find an answer here before taking those steps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Photoshop crashes when print command is activated

as soon as I touch the print or print one commands Photoshop crashes. I can not even get to the print menu to adjust settings. Previous answears have blamed printer drivers but it that is true why does light room print to all the printers whithout any problems

Keynote crashes when film clip is activated

I have used Keynote to make a presentation with slides and clips from a film. This has worked for the last year. However, I am trying to use the presentation these days and the slides work quite well but when I try to engage the clips, the whole application shuts down.
I need the presentation within the next week so any help would be appreciated. I used a PowerbookG4 and OS10.4.11

Dreamweaver Crashing when clicking any function not on the same page - related files disabled

Whenever I click a PHP function that wasn't defined on the same file the entire application immediatly crashes. I've only found people mentioning crashing when dynamically-related files cannot be found, so I disabled that feature in the preferences. The application is still crashing. What other features do I need to disable to get dreamweaver to actually run and not try to take over my application.

Sorry that last part was a typo. I think that I was thinking at first that it was crashing with a preview not in code view and I was thinking about browsers.
What version of PHP is this that you are programming for? And what I meant to say was what version of Dreamweaver and what OS? And have you made sure all extensions are disabled and all updates are installed?
