TEHO - Legal Countries

Hi Support Community
I am in the process of setting up TEHO across 3 clusters using breakout points in around 30 countries. The configuration part i am ok with but what im struggling to find information on is exactly were TEHO is legal or more importantly the countries were it is illegal. I cannot find anything official that details this information. So what i first need to know is does anyone know exactly what countries TEHO is illegal ?
Secondly from what i have found the Middle East and India keep being mentioned as being illegal but then other people state that it is only illegal to use TEHO outbound from these countries becasue it is the toll bypass part depriving the country from revenue that is the issue, however calls from other countries can use TEHO and to break out of these countries.
Any advise would be appreciated ?
Thanks, Carl

Hi Carl,
As per Cisco's TEHO case study
http://www.cisco.com/web/about/ciscoitatwork/unified_comm/TEHO_web.html
Identify regulatory restrictions. Government regulations determine how long-distance voice calls can be routed:
In some countries, all voice calls—internal or  external, local or long-distance—must be sent entirely over the PSTN.
Some countries do not permit TEHO or routing of  external voice calls over an IP telephony network.
A country may not allow TEHO, but permit  long-distance  internal voice calls to be sent over the corporate WAN instead of  the  PSTN.
These restrictions may mean that cost savings from TEHO cannot be   realized in every country. However, regional call routing to those  countries may  still result in lower charges because of lower  long-distance rates at the  regional hub than at the call’s origination  point.
Important Note: Because each network is unique and comprised  of many  combinations of private, enterprise, and public connections, Cisco’s   implementation of VoIP in any particular area does not imply third-party   authorization to implement similar services without first consulting  local  authorities. Accordingly, companies that propose to implement  advanced VoIP  telephony on an enterprise basis should review applicable  laws and regulations  in the countries in which that VoIP telephone  service will be deployed, in  order to determine the current regulatory  requirements. They may also wish to  enlist legal counsel in these   countries.
Based on above information it is clear that there is no simple list of countries which allow or do not allow TEHO.
I would also wait for others to put forward their suggestions.

Using Vista Ultimate 64x and Firefox (any version) I keep hitting eBay page blocks that read "Unfortunately, access to this particular item has been blocked due to legal restrictions in some countries..." These same pages can be accessed with IE or Chrome so it is not really a legal restriction.
How can I get Firefox to allow these eBay pages to display? I include the url of one blocked page.

  • Any way App Store (iPhone/Mac) can be LEGALLY set on two different countries?

I am Italian, I used to live in the US and I have a bank account both in Italy and the US, meaning I can easily switch App Store country just by updating my account info on the App Store. Having purchased my latest unlocked iPhone in the US, I've been set on the American store for almost two years now--it just offers more options--but my Italian apps (apps that are not available on the US store) won't update, and vice versa should I switch to Italy again. It's kind of a hassle because some apps just won't work if they're not updated, and I'm afraid there's a limit in the number of times I can switch country on the store.
Is there any way Apple helps bypass this "problem" by allowing users to set there account on multiple countries, or can I just make sure updates will download automatically even when I'm not set on the "right" country?
Hope my question is clear. I appreciate any useful pointers!

    Hi,
    You can activate the Purchase Account management in following path;
SPRO > MM > Valuation and Account Assignment > Account Determination > Purchase Account Management > Activate Purchase Account in Company Code
And then assign the Purchase Account to T/E Key EIN and Purchase Offset A/c to T/E Key EKG in OBYC.
Also assign the Account Key EIN to all the condition types of pricing procedure in M/08

  • Countries and Purchasing - is this legal?

I was looking at the soundtrack for Blood and Chocolate because I was wanting to buy "Stand My Ground," a song by a group called Within Temptation.
Anyhow, iTunes U.S. doesn't have it.
But iTunes Netherlands does, and one guy suggested we go buy the song in the Netherlands. Even if this is possible, it seems a little fishy to me.
I really want this song, I've requested the artist several times, and I will pay iTunes for it. The question is: is this legal? If it isn't, should I report this to Apple?
    Thank you,

It's not fishy, you just can't do it.
You need a credit card with a billing aqddress in the country you are trying to use the iTunes store in.

  • Leave Quota generation with diifferent rules for different countries

    Hi,
I have the following requirement need help in achieving this.
Employers must grant 10 days paid leave to employees that worked for six consecutive months from the time of hiring and who worked on not less than 80 per cent of all schedule work days. This paid leave may be taken consecutively or separately. Where an employee's application to take paid leave will hinder the normal business operations, the employer may require the employee to take such paid leave at a different time.
The number of days of paid leave available to employees increases in proportion to employees' length of service as set forth in the below table.
    Years of Service  0.5  1.5  2.5  3.5   4.5   5.5   6.5+
    Paid Holidays         10    11  12   14    16    18    20
The right to annual paid leave expires after two years. In other words, annual paid leave left over from one year may be carried over and taken the next year only. For example, if an employee is awarded 10 days paid leave after their first 6 months of employment; those paid holidays will become invalid after 2.5 years of employment. Use them or lose them.
Simply put, holidays from one year can be carried over to the next year, but not to the third year. So, if you don't take your leave from one particular year within 12 months of that year ending, you will lose that first year's allowance.
Employee can take leave encashment of holiday leave only when leaving their employer. It is not legal for companies to buy up the holiday leave of those still working for the firm.
In my organization one PSG grouping has been used for all countries, it wont be possible to change the grouping now. In such a case how can we provide different rule for different country without customizing the Leave module.
Do we have to use any PCR for this, if yes which??

Use QUOMO Feature to give different entitilement to employees.
Leave entitlement as per seniority can be configured in base entitlement.
Keep validity and deduction period for 2 years by using :Relative postion" option in validity and deduction period table.

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

  • How do you set up an iTunes account in two countries

I have an address that I use in two different counties. How do I set up two iTunes accounts; one for each country.

iTunes accounts are not designed to be used in multiple countries.  It affects a few people but probably makes it simpler for Apple given the complexities of international copyright.
You would have to set up a separate account for each country with a different AppleID.  Each account would have to have separate credit card information for a CC issued in that country, with a physical address in each country.  If you do this, remember that items purchased under one AppleID are not transferable to another.  Then too you will have issues with authorizing your computer for  downloads (a 90 day wait period for changing authorizations).  There's a host of issues with having purchases scattered between multiple accounts.
You can change country for a particular account, again once every 90 days if I recall correctly.  However, that has its own set of issues which people have encountered when trying to do something such as update an app that is only available in the other country.
You could likely make it work 90% but it won't be simple.
Technically you are not supposed to use an account while out of the country. People seem to get away with it but Apple can do things to stop you.  E.g., "The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance." - http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html#SERVICE

  • Legally Unlocked Phone from France

    1. Will the iPhone purchased in France, which is legally unlocked, work in the US and other countries with a local pre paid sim. I plan to use it in Italy, India, Philippines, Russia, Eastern Europe, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, USA and other countries. I am looking for ACTUAL experiences from users, thank you.
    2. Will Orange, the Apple iPhone seller in France, sell the phone for cash in France, or do they require credit card?
I have heard that if you buy the phone using a credit card, it must be a French credit card, so therefore i must use cash in the local store in France.
I would of course buy a USA iPhone, but i am only here one month a year, and travel the world for work the rest of the time - which is why, if I use an iPhone, i want the legal unlocked French version to avoid the approx $2/min roaming charges.
Many of my business associates would also like to know the answers to these questions.
I have seen many Topics on this forum with speculation, arguments, debates, etc regarding this topic, but i would like please either an official Apple answer, or actual user experience - thanks.
Note - I have contacted customer service, customer sales, online Apple.com chat and my local store with no answer. If I go to France before the new phone comes out, which may happen, the older phone they have in stock there is 700 Euro which is more than one thousand dollars, so I would like to know beforehand if it will be functional.
    Thanks.

In regards to 1 and 2, I do not know.
In regards to 3, I personally believe so. However, I have not specifically been trained on the iPhone outside of the U.S.
The best bet for questions 1-3 is to contact AppleCare Europe or Orange.
In regards to 4, yes, that is what the silver Apple logo next to my name means. My posts are under the Terms of Use, including this section specifically:

  • Is it legal to subscribe podcast from itunes US if i am not  american?

i kind of saw a term that said :"The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance." in REQUIREMENTS FOR USE OF THE ITUNES SERVICE of B. ITUNES STORE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
so does it means it's not legal to access american store if i am not a american? i know it may be legal to purchase music or apps there. But is it exclude subscribe podcast?coz we dont even need an account if we wanna subscribe podcast from itunes store US.
PS:i found FAQ about podcast http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/fanfaq.html in apple's official website. although it's still a US webpage.
How can I find podcasts in my language?
To see podcasts that are popular in other countries, click on the Home icon to go to the main page for the iTunes store. At the bottom of the main page is a My Store menu that allows you to switch to different stores. Once in the desired store, navigate to the Podcasts page. In the Top Podcasts list, for example, you will find podcasts popular in that country“
Does it means it's okay it's legal to access other country's itunes store?
Someone one help me ... THX!

The iTunes Store does not host podcasts themselves, only links to them, so you can probably find a direct link to any given podcast by searching the web. Then you can see what terms the providers of the podcast has, if any, for who can access it.
    Regards.

  • Can anyone tell me how to download a DVD to iTunes and then onto my ipad? I presume that's legal?

Can anyone tell me how to download a DVD to iTunes and then onto my ipad? I presume that's legal?p

If you're talking about a commercial DVD and you're in the U.S. (and a number of other countries), you presume incorrectly. Commercial DVDs are encrypted and breaking that encryption is illegal. For non-encrypted DVDs, use Handbrake.

  • Best Practice for legally required Chart of Account

    Dear all,
our client has a global defined chart of account. Now they are going to implement the SAP template in France, Belgium and Russia. These countries have legally required chart of accounts. What is best practice to fullfill these requirements in SAP.
    1) Do I use the alternative account number?
    2) Isn't this field on the central level of the account master data record? How do I manage to realize the different number for Russia and for France at the same time?
Thank you very much for your help.
    Best regards Timo

    Hi,
the best way proofed by real life is to define new chart of accounts for the country specific accounts. Then to assign this chart of accounts as country chart of accounts in company code parameters.
Then you can use field alternative account number in company code segment of G/L accounts.
Just keep in mind that the assigment should be 1:1, i.e. one operative (global) account is assigned to one local account and one local account should be assigned to one operative account.
You can't change the alternative account number if there is balance on that account. You can just repost the balance to another account, then change alternative acccount number and then post the balance back. For some accounts its difficult to do such excercise so I use short ABAP which changes directly the field in table SKB1.
You can also define financial statement strucutre based on local chart of accounts - which is usually easier for maintennace, because you can use intervals. Just do not forget check "Alternantive accounts" in RFBILA00.

    Michal

  • Unable to find any active legal regulations for determination proc. "TEST1"

    Hi Guys
This is in regards to a Customs document for a Payment doc
We have just finished the configuration of the Finance integration which will stop blocked partners during the Payment run
Now when we create a Proposal in the Payment run in ECC, the same document gets transferred to GTS, now even though the SPL is active when we check the Log there is a message Unable to find any active legal regulations for determination proc
Upon further investigation of the customs document i found 2 things
    1) In the Geography section Country of Departure is populated with US, but the Country of destination is blank, this might be a reason as the Legal regulation checks both the countries and then activate, any idea how i can get the same to populate?
    2) If the above population does happen, from which partner type should it come from, as in my customs document only Vendor and Bank is there, in the PO customs document this is being populated properly
Any idea what is wrong here?
    Thanks
    Carl

    Hi Dave
    Thanks for answering again.
I have tried activating it at country level, country/country, country/group, Same result in case of all
As i know now since the Country of Destination is missing, it cannot activate the last two, but the same is also not working at country level.
So is there anyway to maybe have some partner function which can populate the Destination country.
Any other advice will be really helpful..
    Thanks
    Carl
