Tektronix edition - Log import

Hi all,
I've got a problem, which I can't solve on my own, so I'm asking your help.
I've got the softwareprogram: SignalExpress Tektronix edition v2.5.1
Now in this program you got the option to record your measurements, wonderful!
But I accidentely deleted one of my files and I can't remeasure it anymore.
What happend: I pressed on the delete button for a couple of file (one to much..) and removed them from the project (left on the disk).
Now I wan't to get back one of those files, but it just won't work...
When I try to import the file like: "Logged Signals From Another Project" then it just won't see any file so I tried the other option:
"Logged Signals from SignalExpress TDMS Files…" (see: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/40499FC78C039BC386257944004D4450).
I can see the files now, but still can't load them into my project.
I'm getting an error: "You cannot choose this folder name; a file of that name already exists" then (see figure)
But there aren't any log files named like that. even tried with a blank project, still same result.
How to fix this? because I really need that data.

Hello Dennis,
It seems like you selected a specific file instead of a folder.
In the pop-up message they mention:
"Choose a folder that contains tdms file"
So when you're in the right folder, you should choose/click "Current Folder" instead of selecting a specific tdms-file.
Can you try this?

Photoshop glitched during a save of an image that had been opened from Aperture 3, and now I can't open PS at all. Need help. Where did you tell it to save its editing steps in Photoshop Edit.log? That's where the file should be.
A general preferences reset may be required. Press and hold Control - Shift - Command immediately after doing a cold-start of Photoshop. You have to be very quick to get the keys pressed down, and if you are quick enough it will prompt you to confirm the deletion of the preferences.

You can go to Applications, Utilities, Activiy Monitor to see just how much space is available. To free space you need to remove files that take a lot of space, things like videos, photos, music. Get an external hard drive, OWC http://www.macsales.com has a good selection, and move material off the internal drive.

Can't edit slide imported from PowerPoint in Cap 5.5

Hi - I'm running Windows XP. I've created a new project from a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation (imported .ppt file, although it may have been originally created as pptx). For the Advance Slide option I selected Automatically, and I unchecked the Linked checkbox. I have successfully imported additional PPT slides into the project file, and I have been able to use the text to speech conversion option to create audio narration for several slides, so the project file seems to be working as usual, and is not overly large (only about 6 mb). I can also open the temporary PPT editing environment and make changes to an imported slide by using right-click and selecting Edit with Microsoft PowerPoint/Edit Slide. But after I click the Save button in the temporary editing window, I never return to the Captivate project file window - Captivate hangs up. I've waited as long as ten minutes before using Task Manager to end the process. Does anyone have any thoughts about what can cause this, and/or what I am doing wrong? I have already uninstalled a trial version of Articulate (before uninstalling it, I was not able to import additional PPT slides into my project, but uninstalling didn't fix the editing issue). I suppose I could work around this problem by importing corrected slides into the project file and deleting the originals I'm replacing, but I'd like to be able to get this to work right if possible. Thanks.

I didn't use it because of comments I've read by developers who've had problems with the Linked function. You don't need to select the Linked function to edit an imported slide in Captivate, though, do you? I thought unlinked slides were imported into the project library, and that you can edit them there. Have I misunderstood how this works?

No, it's a document I created and it's not locked. I did it at work and sent it to Pages so I could work at home. It opens but I can't type or edit.

What kind of FIR filter in Labview SignalExpress Tektronix Edition?

I am using FIR filter in Labview SignalExpress Tektronix Edition to process signal acquired from the TDS3032B.But i dont know what kind of this filter(Window,least-squares,or equiripple...).Does any one know about this?

Unable to access citadel edit log.

I just installed LV-DSC 8 on my PC and I am trying to view some historical data through the Historical Data Viewer in MAX. The historical data is on a remote PC running LV-DSC 7. I can connect to the remote PC and see the database name, but when I click on it to view the tag names, I recieve the error message "Unable to access citadel edit log. Database files may be read-only or invalid". Does anyone know what causes this type of error? And what is the 'edit log'?
I verified that the files are not read-only. I can view an example database that ships with LV-DSC 7 on the same PC, so the problem seems to be specific to this database. Strangely I can read the database without any problem locally or read it from another machine with LV-DSC 7 so the database is not completely corrupted. Thus the problem exists only on this database and only when viewing it from a LV-DSC 8 machine.
In LV-DSC 7 is there a way to run a "repair" routine on the database? I wonder if detaching from the database and then reattaching might help.

I'm not sure what would cause that. On the LabVIEW 8 PC, verify that you have write permission for the files under C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\Citadel\__LocalCache. If user-level security is enabled for your file system, you should also verify that the SYSTEM user has write access to those files.

Captivate 5 freezes up any time I try to record, edit, or import audio

I'm using Captivate 5 to create a CBT. When I try to record, edit, or import audio to the slide the program just freezes. When I end the program through my computer's task manager, it says that Captivate is waiting for a response from me. I can not click on anything after I select Audio > Record > Slide. After I reopen the Captivate I can access the Audio Settings with no problem however. Why is Captivate doing this and how can I fix it?

OK. My next guess would be that there is some corrupted element in your project that is preventing compiling from successfully completing.
Next thing to try is use a process of elimination to locate the offending object.
First try copying and pasting all slides from your problem project into a new blank project. This will rename all objects in all slides and strip out any Advanced Actions, but if your issue is due to either of those, then it should immediately be able to compile.
If that doesn't work, try hiding all slides and just unhide them one at a time to see if it will compile. If you go through your project a few slides at a time, you may eventually find the offending slide and then whittle it down to the offending object.

Undocumented editing on import

Hi, All.
I have a student whose images are being edited on import. She does not have any import filters active (i.e. nothing in "Apply During Import") and the History panel reports only the import and date. But basic adjustments are being made to the images (e.g. Exposure, Contrast, etc.)
I cannot figure out how to disable this editing.
She is using Lightroom 5, a Nikon D3100 camera shooting RAW, and is importing directly into Lightroom from the card.
Any help would be greatly apprciated.

SignalExpress Tektronix Edition with TDS2014C

I have the full version of SignalExpress Tektronix Edition to use with a Tektronix TDS2014C 4-channel scope. Unfortunately SignalExpress will only show me Channel 1 and Channel 2. I have yet to figure out how to get it to display Channels 3 and 4. Below are the steps I take:
Add Step -> Tektronix -> Acquire Signals -> Tek TDS1000/2000
The image below is what SignalExpress gives me. Any suggestions?

HFM Security Access Edit Logs - Audit

I have been asked by our internal audit group to provide logs of when users access within HFM have been edited (i.e. added, changed roles, added to groups, etc.). Is there anyone else that has received this request, and more importantly how have you met this request (logs in the system, etc)?
The only way I have been able to track this is offline via spreadsheets.
Any/all advice is appreciated.

I have had a couple clients ask for something like this. At least now with user provisioning you can get reports of what the security was, like a snapshot. Then compare it to another time. But this will only tell you part of the story. If you are using groups for example, it possible a user gets added to one group then removed. You would not have access to that change in HFM, it would keep no record of it.
I would recommend taking and extract and report and archiving them to reference.

How can I edit an imported audio file?

I have imported an audio file from a cassette tape using ION Tape Express which imports into iTunes. Unfortunately there is a long silence when the tape switched sides and I would like to edit it out. Is it possible to do this in GB11?

How to edit and import the scenario via XML format?

Hi gurus,
In our project, we have a lot of ECC clients. So in PI system, we need to do a lot of same work in one scenario(Although we have config wizard,it's still boring because of our slow network speed).
Do we have any fast method to fix that? I mean can we edit the xml of one scenario and then import it into ID?
There is an import function but only we can import tpz files.

I believe that XML Data will be used for some later "technical Analysis" or for some documentation purposes and can not be used for the purpose you need to..

Is it possible to edit an import metadata preset?

I am using the windows version of LR and have made a metadata preset which I use when importing photos. I would like to change this preset but cannot figure out how to do it. Is this possible or do I need to make a totally new preset?

I vaguely recall that the next release of Lr will allow better template editing.
In the meantime edit the template in a text editor. You can find the location by consulting
this TechNote.
You can also use the Metatdata panel in the Library module to edit the metatdata of a "junk" photo. Then click the Preset drop-down icon and choose "Save as New Preset...".
