Telephone audio

I've been using the Treo 700wx for the past several months.
In the past few weeks every 4th or 5th phone call, I can hear the
person on the other line but they don't hear me, it's as though I've
pressed the mute button.  It's not pressed, but they can't hear me
all the same.  The caller will then call back immediately and then on
2nd or 3rd call, they can hear me fine.   It's the same when I make
a call, quite frustrating....since Iuse the phone for business.....
Any suggestions?????

  • How To Do Telephone Audio Effects

    Hey there!
Forgive me if there are other posts about this, I searched and could not find any.
I'm working on a peice where two characters are the phone with eachother. I'm wondering if their are any audio filters or adjustments which can achieve the effect of hearing someone talk through a telephone. If anyone knows how to do this, or can point me in the direction of any tutorials I would be greatly appreciative!
    Thanks so much!

Is it possible to get iPhone audio (telephone calls) from Lightning connection? Music works, but calls switch to internal or extenral speakers, not lightning (for e.g. docking station, car...)!
I want to get the audio out of the lightning connection (the way you get audio when you connect it to a dock). It works properly with music, but when making a telephone call, it switches to the internal speraker. You can change to the external spekers, but you cannot select another audio out. It's also possible to get the telephone audio from the analogue connection, but that's not what I want. I want telephone audio from lightning...
Would be so great if anybody has an idea

I must also say that the second update ruined my Lumia's battery life.
With the first (out-of-the-box) update the phone usually had 30 percent of battery after a quite hard day (e.g. more than an hour of talking via bluetooth handsfree, more than two hours of listening to the music via bluetooth, more than an hour of browsing via wifi, and reading hundreds of e-mails via two mail accounts). I never managed to discharge it after one day (e.g. 14-16 hours) of continous use, no matter how much I talked, listened and browsed.
Now, with the secod update, it discharges to 20% after 12 hours of laying still almost without use (30 mins of music, less than 15 mins of talking and nothing more), and discharges completely with the usage pattern described above.
Did the second update contain some Android code?

  • Capturing audio from telephone for use in FCP

My requirement is quite specific, and so far none of previous posts seem to answer my question. So...
I'm looking to capture audio from my telephone for use in FCP. It won't be a telephone conversation, but a voice text. In other words, an SMS sent to a landline. The audio is saved as a voice message on the answer machine. My phone / answer machine is fairly basic - it has a speaker and the only ports it has is for power and the telephone line itself. I have tried a very basic method of playing the message on speaker and capturing it on a mini DV - but that results in too much audio edit to get it to sound acceptable. My Mac is a G5 and I have the full FC studio, but just not sure of best way to get audio onto the Mac without losing too much of the sound quality.
    Any suggestions?
    Many thanks all...

  • Can you please tell me how to shut off the plug-in update checker?

I like to check plug-in updates from time to time on my own. The "plug-in update checker" that pops up simultaneously EVERYTIME I open Firefox is VERY annoying. Though I have tried, I can't figure out how to stop that from happening. It is so annoying that I have considered going back to using Internet Explorer which I do not like. Please help me disable, turn off, delete this feature. Thank you

You can go into your Audio Preferences and disable the UV bridge. There is also the option in the drop down menu next to the speaker icon that allows you to mute just the telephone audio. This would make it so just the VoIP audio is heard, but I believe the telephone audio is still recorded.
This sounds like you either need to disconnect the phone from your room or call into the phone bridge as a host/leader. Ultimately this is a function of your phone bridge, not Connect.

  • "Offline" Recordings Not Full Length. Why? HELP!!!!

I produce webinars, record them all, and then make an OFFLINE VERSION (downloaded to my computer) that I burn to DVD. This has always been flawless in the past. However, now, my OFFLINE RECORDINGS show meetings that are only 16 minutes 40 seconds in length, when in fact they are 2 hours long. The original recordings are the correct length when you view them online. Something seems to go wrong with Adobe's system when it goes through the "make offline" process. I'm on a Mac running 10.7.5 (Lion) and have been using Safari & RealPlayer. Adobe claims to have fixed the file, but the file itself was never the problem....I have multiple downloads of different meetings now all weighing in at 16:40.
At first I thought maybe the glitch was from webinars recorded in Connect 8 but made offline after migration to Connect 9. So I tried "making offline" versions of a meeting recorded natively in 9, but had the same result. I've tried meetings that have been edited, meetings that are in their original form, everything I can think of to pinpoint or troubleshoot. Tried using a player besides RealPlayer to determine if that's the weak link. Tried playing the resulting burned DVD files in different computers with different operating systems.....there is no consistent fix.
Anyone else have this "make offline" glitch? It's driving me crazy.

Contact Support and let them know you are having the issue with the offline FLV creation. You are not alone, this has been brought up here as well, Adobe Connect User Community
If all you need is the audio, then you can pull down the source files for the recording by adding /output/yourfilename.zip?download=zip to your recording URL. There you will find one of two files, depending on how the audio was recorded.
XXXXX.mp3 - If you used just telephone audio, you should find an MP3 file of the audio.
cameraVoip_X.flv - If you used just VoIP, Universal Voice audio, or blended phone and VoIP audio you will need to extract the audio from this file. I use FLV to MP3, a free program, but there are plenty of tools out there to extract the audio.
Once you have you audio you can use your tool of choice to put the audio into another presentation.

  • What does it cost?

I've been trying for a week to get some indication of what Adobe Connect costs. Why this hidden away in a secret fault? I want to set up a trial use but not if I have no idea what the price is. Can someone ballpark this? Up to 100 people, two of them on webcam and 98 participants via text chat.

Well, that all depends a lot of choices!
    1. If you are a corporation, you get pricing based on quantity of con-current users or on a named host license basis
    2. If you are with a government agency, then pricing is determined by the US GSA process.
    3. If you are an individual, then I suggest you go here and determine which pricing model works for you: https://service.acrobat.com/cfusion/bots/purchase/index.cfm
Understand, Adobe Connect is an enterprise product not usually sold to individuals but targeted to companies and government agencies. Adobe Connect comes in three flavors that you choose:
    1. On-Premise - you buy the Adobe Connect Server and run it on your own hardware on top of Windows Server, you buy concurrent end user licenses as well to match how many people will be on the server at the same time
    2. Hosted - Adobe Hosted, Partner hosted (ConenctSolutions or Amazon AWS) - You pay for the number of concurrent licenses for the year or multiple years or you pay for Named Accounts.
    3. Managed Service - Adobe manages the server on your location or at a cloud provider service. You pay based on what you desire.
Another way to purchase is through the major telephone audio providers like PGi. Intercall, MeetingOne, Avaya, etc. Mnay of them sell Adobe Connect along with their telephone audio bridge solutions.
All of this depends on a lot of factors and Adobe Connect Enterprise Sales reps as well as partners and distributors can quote this based on the factors.
I suspect based on the information you provided that you are an individual and desire up to 100 simultaneous users at one time. The use of webcams or chat is irrelevent to cost as those features are native to Connect and to all participants. I would suggest you take a look at the individual pricing page mentioned above and decide if you want an annual plane, monthly plan or pay-per-use. There are calculators there to help you see the different prices. Of course that is for the Adobe Hosted option. If you want to buy your own server and your own simultaneous licenses, then please get in touch with me and I will figure out who your sales rep would be to talk to. email: [email protected]
The pricing is not hidden way. It just complicated because of the variopus options and the quantity. Government agencies pay a different price than corporations do and Universities also have a completely different pricing model. This is common in Enterprise wide type software sales.
Hope that clarifies the mystery a bit.

  • Answer phone by BT, listen Navigation by speaker

I'm missing a functionality in connectivity.  When BT headset is activated all audio is sent to the headset (Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, S60v5). Can it be made possible (by software or setting?) to exclude applications from BT audio, so that audio will remain "connected" to the device speaker? Most of all missing that for the navigation software ...
My older Windows-phone did only sent the telephone-audio to the BT headset, it was even possible to hear navigation audio via the device speaker, while I had a phone call on the headset!  Otherwise navigation stops while making a phonecall ...
When used as mediaplayer/radio with the wired earplugs it is already possible to switch audio to the device-speaker.
Does anybody have a solution, maybe an idea for future firmware?
    Thanks for your attention,
    Richard

    The two most common causes:
You had been using it with a Bluetooth device and did not turn the device off when finished, so it is still connected (as happened to me last week)
You were using it with a headset, and the phone did not register that you had unplugged the headset. To resolve this with the phone awake insert and premove the headphone plug a couple of times.
The last possibility is that the headphone jack is damaged.

  • 5Ghz Versus 2.4 Ghz?

    Hello
well, regarding 802.11n,the transmit rate is 54Mbps and the spectrum is 5 Ghz,the questions is what is the difference between 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz?
    Thanks

In terms of 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz atleast in most of the world both are unlicensed radio frequencies, and there are alot of differences in regards to them, aside from the 802.11n protocol.
In terms of the united states the 2.4Ghz band has roughly 14 channels, of which the U.S. allows you to use Channels 1 thru 11. each channel is 22Mhz wide and all frequencies are based on center frequency; the downside to this is that of those 11 channels only 3 are non-overlapping - 1,6,11 so you really only have 3 channels with which to configure devices; although some schools of thought will tell you that you can use 4 channels - 1,4,8,11. Globally it's accepted that you use only the 3 channels - 1,6,11. To use one of the other channels can cause impact to the others around it.
    Now in terms of the united states the 5Ghz you have roughly 12 channels 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 149, 153, 157, 161 (although a recent revision has added 100, 104, 108, 112, 116, 136, 140, 165 - not all client adapters support these channels). Unlike 2.4Ghz all of the 5Ghz channels are non-overlapping, so you can actually utilize all the channels.
aside from just the channel issue there is another major difference between them, the 2.4Ghz band is heavily saturated around the world by non-wifi devices such as microwaves, cordless telephones, audio/video senders, security cameras, toys, bluetooth, specialized medical devices, etc. So when implementing a wireless network in the 2.4Ghz range there are a great number of interferring devices to contend with, the 5Ghz frquency is pretty much empty.
Here is a link that covers more about this stuff.

  • My iphone 5 has bad audio qualities when using the telephone properties: what solution was offered by apple or provider?

I have a new iphone 5 that has a very bad audio quality when using the basic telephone function. Both wen called or calling the conversation is either of quite poor quality or drops awau alltogether. The latter happens sometimes 5 times on a row during one conversation or better attempt to have one..:)
Who has similar problems and what has been the solution offered by apple or their provider?

I have the same issue with the following setup:
    Garmin 2597LMT
    iPhone 5
    Motorola T605 bluetooth hardsfree system
I ended up disabling the nuvi bluetooth -- I don't subscribe to any smartlink services -- so I'll guess i'll go without Weather on the nuvi for now.

  • Broadcasting Computer Audio over Telephone

I'm using a "Passcode Entry Operator Assisted Call" for an upcoming meeting.  I've created the audio profile and have made sure it connects correctly (you can hear people talking on the phone through the speakers).
During this meeting we will be displaying a short video using one of the Connect pods.  However, since people will be connected by phone they won't be able to hear this audio through their speakers (their speakers are muted, otherwise they would hear the same audio they hear on the phone with a slight delay).
Is it possible to broadcast the audio to the users connected by phone (other than instructing them to un-mute their speakers)?  Is this a setting that I've overlooked?

When Conect sees that someone has joined a conference over the phone, it mutes the playback of the phone audio over the computer. Attendees should still be able to hear the audio of the video through their computer speakers. There is no built in method for getting the audio for media shared in the Share pod to broadcast over the phone, and this has been a long issue among many people using Connect and there is no easy resolution.
The only real solution that I know of is to use something like a THAT-2 device, http://amzn.com/B003D82WKC, to bridge the computer audio to a phone.

  • How sharing an audio stream in two or more Ip telephones?

    Hi everybody.
I wonder if you can make a call in which two or more people can listen to the conversation without using the functionality of the conference or the contact center, in other words, two or more IP phones have the functionality to take the call and listen to the conversation.
analog lines similar to accounts in which a line with several phones and all phones that are connected to it can hear the conversation.
    I hope you understand me

You can use "Shared Lines" with Barge
Look for "Single Button Barge"  to simplify the user experience.
