Telepresence Conductor + Server without encryption?

I'm starting to have a bit of a play in our test environent with the free Conductor OVA and Telepresence Server.
Reading through the Conductor 2.2 deployment guide, it mentions encryption keys + SIP TLS as "required" quite alot. As our test environment doesn't have the encryption key on the Telepresence Server, is it possible to run Conductor + TP server in non-secure mode if we don't have the key, or is it an absolute requirement to have it?

Its a 0 dollar item, so unless you are in a non-encrypted country that should be an easy fix.
I never tried it without, one point can be that its using the api via https, that would
fail on your box. Not sure about the sip encryption, but sure that could also be a show
stopper, especially for the b2bua mode.
Sure you can try it and sure report your success, but please dont ask if it does not work
the best way: get a key if possible

I have a ACU Client, WLC (with local EAP) and an external RADIUS server.
My aim is to use 802.1x, but WITHOUT encryption.
In the Cisco ACU, when I select 802.1x, I have to select an EAP type.
    With EAP-FAST, selected,
      On the WLC, if I enable local EAP, and select WEP with No key size, it does not work.
      I have to select a Key size, therebye enabling WEP
         I believe this is because EAP-FAST *MANDATES* usign WEP or a 4 way handshake..
A. If I select other EAP types, and setup my authentication server (Free RADIUS) to support the EAP type,
    can I have a setup that can NOT use encryption ?
          On the WLC, do I just select 802.1x and a WAP key with 0 size ?
B. Is this not possible with any form of Local EAP ??

Thats actually one of the first things I had tried, but it does not seem to work.
I repeated the test again, but this time with a sniffer running.
            I see the open auth/association go through, but it never proceeds to 802.1x (However this was with a all mixed cell flag on)
            Without that flag set, I dont see any packets from the client, except probe requests !!
On the controller, I was also running a debug aaa enable all, and dont see any activity, in both the above cases.
The moment I set the WEP key length from NONE to 104 bits, it works
I'll try with other clients, but I believe the result will be the same.
Also, this is just to get a better understanding of the behaviour of 802.1x.. Not for production.

What is the video file size I can use for Telepresence Content Server to calculate storage required?

I would like to calcualte storage requied for Video files on the Telepresence Content Server, MPEG Format. What is the per minute storage required for a video file with and without compression? What kind of Video compression rates are supported on TelePresence Content Server and MXE 3500.

Telepresence Conductor OBTP scheduled conferences and TC endpoints registered to CUCM

Dear community,
I am experiencing an interesting issue with TP Conductor based OBTP scheduled conferences and the behavior of TC software based endpoints natively registered to CUCM.
Software versions:
- TelePresence Conductor XC2.2.1
- CUCM 9.1.2
- TMS 14.3.2
- TC 7.0.2
Scheduled conferences are configured as OBTP and the Conductor is the preffered MCU in routing.
Behind the Conductor is a TelePresence Server 7010 appliance.
The Conductor Alias Pattern is 805%, priority 100, is immersive is not checked, the generated regular expression is (805[^@]*).*
Numeric ID Base for the alias is 10, Numeric ID Step is 1, Numeric ID Quantity is 9.
When scheduling conferences with TMS, TMS is generating numbers in this sequence:
80510, 80511, 80512, etc.
In CUCM, the Conductor IP alias for rendezvous is a destination of a SIP trunk, and there is a
route pattern 8051X
pointing to it.
The conference alias in Conductor is
(805[^@]*).*
With OBTP and CTS software based endpoints everything works well, these 8051X numbers are pushed to the MIDlets of the IP Phone or Touch 12" and the endpoints connect to the telepresence server scheduled conference.
With the TC software based endpoints, when selecting Join now on the conference reminder pop up screen with the remote control, the endpoint is dialing both:
80510@<CUCM-IP-Address> and
[email protected]
where example.com is the CUCM cluster domain.
The TC endpoint then somehow automatically connects with two sessions to the telepresence server which is extremely awkward.
When pushing the red disconnect button on the remote control, I have an option to disconnect all calls, or disconnect the first or second call to the same dialed alias 80510@<CUCM-IP-Address>. If I disconnect one of the calls everything is OK.
But then, how come the TC based endpoint initates two calls in parallel to the Conductor and then Telepresence Server ?
Has anybody experienced a similar issue ?
If I manually dial 80510 everything is fine, the endpoint dials
80510@<CUCM-IP-Address> and it connects successfully.

I also have the
log ctx SIPStack debug 9
from the endpoint when initiating the call. I can provide it to you privately.
Did not have enough time to get the traces from CUCM but will also check them.
If we are really hitting a bug, I will have to quickly do a workaround removing the Conductor from scheduling and trying directly with the TelePresence Server.

Telepresence content server recordings - legal compliance

Hi,
we are considering the use of Cisco Telepresence TCS + TMS but have a mandatory requirement for safety marks / hashes / (whatever) in recordings so they can have legal force.
In the docs I didnt found any info about this subject. Can someone help me on this subject?

The true, unaltered recording is the encrypted OGG file that is stored on the TelePresence Content Server and indexed in its database - this cannot be accessed by anything other than the TCS it was created with.
Any exported (or managed output) in a WMV/Quicktime/etc file is a transcoded copy of the original.
You could create your own MD5 hash of your file from TCS if you wanted to have some sort of thing that could be verified in the future to ensure that the recording had not been tampered with. The TCS doesn't generate this, it is something you'd need to do yourself for any recordings you've exported and provided to another party. You can use something like WinMD5 to do that. You could then paste the MD5 value and details of who you provided it to in to the TCS "Edit Recording" page for that particular recording to keep a track of the value for the export and who you gave it to.

Good day! Could someone explain me what's the difference between Telepresence Content Server and MSE 3500? Why do I need to obtain two these devices for sorting out my tasks? I want to understand gist of the first and the second devices.

In addition to what Jonathan posted above, here is a Capture Transform Share Solution Guide that goes over a little bit of what the TCS and MXE are and some possible deployment scenarios.
In short, TCS is used to record video conferences or lectures that can be streamed on demand or live using various streaming or distribution methods. One such distribution method is using the MXE 3500 to ingest the recordings from TCS and convert them to different media types and add in-video content such as logos etc. However, from the MXE, you can't send the video back to the TCS for viewing, you'd need to send that off to another viewing portal such as Show and Share.

Stop managed server without node manager and admin server

What are the commonly used ways to stop managed Weblogic server without node manager running and without administration server running?
(I have only one solution: on the managed server startup dump process ID to a file, and then when I want to stop it, send a signal to this process ID and kill JVM. But it seems not very clean way.)
(The managed server is started when both node manager and admin server are down, and I provide boot.properties of admin server to the managed server to start.)
UPDATED: And I don't want to start neither admin server, nor node manager even temporarily.

I read the Oracle weblogic wlst script document without Admin server you cannot connect the managed server through the WLST script. see the below lines
"The start command starts Managed Servers or clusters in a domain using Node Manager.
To use the start command, WLST must be connected to a running Administration Server.
To start Managed Servers without requiring a running Administration Server, use the
nmStart command with WLST connected to Node Manager."
"You shut down a server to which WLST is connected by entering the shutdown command
without any arguments.
When connected to a Managed Server instance, you only use the shutdown command to shut
down the Managed Server instance to which WLST is connected; you cannot shut down another
server while connected to a Managed Server instance.
WLST uses Node Manager to shut down a Managed Server. When shutting down a Managed
Server, Node Manager must be running.
In the event of an error, the command returns"
They are two option if you are using adminserver then we can stop the any Managed server.
The option is if you are using the nodemanager without admin server we can stop the any Managed server.
The last final solution to kill the particular Managed server pid.

Stream-in images from client to server,without running the transmit code

Hello all,
Im using JMF for my current project.Right now,I am trying to only recieve images from the client without the client transmitting it.That is I dont want the transmit code to run on the client.
I should just be able to stream in the images from client to server, without running the transmit code on client.
Can this be done?

You'd just need to write an application that doesn't have a GUI (so, a console-based application) that listens on some pre-determined port for a message to start broadcasting. Maybe you'd send it the IP/PORT number to start broadcasting on. Once it receives that message, it'd start broadcasting the web cam to the IP/PORT number until it received a message to stop. Once it stops, it'll just go back to waiting for the next "start" signal.

On the other side, you'd write an application that sends the start messages, receives/displays the videos, and then sends the stop signal. This will have a GUI, and be your "control program" so to speak.
Then, once of have both of those programs working...if you're using Linux, you're done. If you're using Windows, you'd need to modify the <Side A> program so that it can run as a Windows service.

That said, what you're trying to do - not using parameters - is the wrong thing to do. Not only it is insecure due to the risk of SQL injection but in the case of binary data is also inefficient since these hex strings are larger than the original byte[]

NetStorage server without eDirectory installed on Linux OES2-SP2

I was wondering if NetStorage can be working on a Single
SLES10-SP3/OES2-SP2, server without actually having eDirectory on the
server itself but pointing the NetStorage configuration to any server
holding a R/W replica of eDirectory, by this making the NetStorage
easier to move to e.g. DMZ, e.t.c, or just making it a simpler setup for
the NetStorage.
I have tried this with 2 servers, one server with eDir installed and one
where only NetStorage is "ticked" under the OES Install and Configuration.
I can get as far as getting the login page up byt aint able to authenticate.
for the Certificate i took the pem file from the server i points to and
place in the /etc/ssl/servercerts/xxx.pem
Well i think i read sometime this was possible without eDirectory
actually on the NetStroage server, could be i'm Wrong.
Any ideas on this would be great.

Any OES2 server HAS to have eDirectory on it (that I'm aware of to function properly). However, you may be asking the question in the wrong way. Not sure how you'd login to iManager on the OES2 server to manage NetStorage if the eDir database isn't on there.
You MAY be wanting to know if the OES2 server needs an eDirectory REPLICA on it (there's a big difference).
If that's what you REALLY are asking, then the answer is:
No, you do not need an eDir replica on the server that runs NetStorage. In fact, you could even put the NetStorage server into its own tree if you had to (it's a little more complex to setup at that point, but it CAN be done).

Reload a jar in weblogic server without restart

We are using weblogic version '10.0.1.0' and have 'reports.jar' file in server for reports.
If we change any existing class file under 'reports.jar' then we are using below steps in order to recognize a modified jar by weblogic
1) We need to recreate a jar using eclipse in local IDE and
2) Copy the 'reports.jar' into server
3) Need to restart server inorder to recognize the modified jar
Is there any alternative solution to reload a jar in weblogic server without restart?

If this is for weblogic running on development mode, then you can go for auto-deployment feature where weblogic will auto-deploy modified application from autodeploy directory.
For production mode, you can go for production-redeployment feature of weblogic where it uses application versioning. So for example you deployed webapp1 with version app1.0 and then for new release you will deploy webapp1 with version app2.0 adding a retirement policy to retire old application after said time and start using webapp1 with app2.0.

Acrobat 9 standard no copy without encryption

I just upgraded from 6 to 9. I want to prohibit copying in security but the dialog box wants to encrypt and I don't want to encrypt. I just want to disallow copying.

The confusion, I think, may be assoicated with a very unhappy change made in Adobe Acrobat. At one time, you could protect files from being changed without using encryption. (This was very valuable for permitting web located files to be accessed by Search Engines.) Now however, you can only protect files from change if you use encryption. This is actually in contradiction to the dialogue box one gets when saving files under security. Making the files available to Adobe Reader 7 and later, you should be able to save them without encryption. But that doesn't happen. If you want to protect the files from change, you end up having to encrypt them.
If someone knows how to make files available for anyone to read; and at the same time protect those files from being changed -- without using encryption -- please post. That information would be highly valued.
