Telepresence Content Server - can'r play or edit long recordings

Hi all,
We have a Telepresence Content Server which one of our customers occasionally uses to record seminars via a video conference. Occassionally they forget to disconnect the call and the recording continues until the codec "max time in call" limit is reached (set to 12 hours I think).
The recording seems to be ok and I can download it. However, I am unable to view or edit it on the TCS itself meaning I have to use an external tool to trim the recording.
Anyone else seen this issue?

I suggest moving this thread to the TelePresence space; you're more likely to get an answer there.

  • Telepresence content server recordings - legal compliance

    Hi,
we are considering the use of Cisco Telepresence TCS + TMS but have a mandatory requirement for safety marks / hashes / (whatever) in recordings so they can have legal force.
In the docs I didnt found any info about this subject. Can someone help me on this subject?
Best regards and thanks in advance for any help.
    Jorge Agra

The true, unaltered recording is the encrypted OGG file that is stored on the TelePresence Content Server and indexed in its database - this cannot be accessed by anything other than the TCS it was created with.
Any exported (or managed output) in a WMV/Quicktime/etc file is a transcoded copy of the original.
You could create your own MD5 hash of your file from TCS if you wanted to have some sort of thing that could be verified in the future to ensure that the recording had not been tampered with.  The TCS doesn't generate this, it is something you'd need to do yourself for any recordings you've exported and provided to another party.  You can use something like WinMD5 to do that.  You could then paste the MD5 value and details of who you provided it to in to the TCS "Edit Recording" page for that particular recording to keep a track of the value for the export and who you gave it to.

  • The difference between Telepresence Content Server and MSE 3500

Good day! Could someone explain me what's the difference between Telepresence Content Server and MSE 3500? Why do I need to obtain two these devices for sorting out my tasks? I want to understand gist of the first and the second devices.

In addition to what Jonathan posted above, here is a Capture Transform Share Solution Guide that goes over a little bit of what the TCS and MXE are and some possible deployment scenarios.
In short, TCS is used to record video conferences or lectures that can be streamed on demand or live using various streaming or distribution methods.  One such distribution method is using the MXE 3500 to ingest the recordings from TCS and convert them to different media types and add in-video content such as logos etc.  However, from the MXE, you can't send the video back to the TCS for viewing, you'd need to send that off to another viewing portal such as Show and Share.

  • Cisco TelePresence Content Server's server mode is stuck in "Configuration reload, Offline"

My Cisco TelePresence Content Server's server mode is stuck in "Configuration reload, Offline"
I can't dial in or dial out.
I tried to restart Content Service
And I tried to reload the server but I cannot resolve this problem.
Are there people having a idea to resolve it?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
You can check the content engine logs in E:/Logs to find what exact error you are seeing there. If it is indeed complaining about the checksum verification failing, you need to contact Cisco support to get it. You need to provide the serial number and the LAN 1 mac address in the support ticket.
You can verify the Windows registries to check if it contains the checksum or not. The location of the registry is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > TANDBERG > TCS.

    SAP support VMWARE
    MAXDB support VMWARE.
    you are free to go.
I would ask this question in the SAP on VMWARE group at Virtualization on Windows

  • Cisco TelePresence Content Server not transcoding

Recently I discovered that the transcoding engine is not responding in my Cisco TelePresence Content Server.  I have tried to restart the windows service and the whole machine with no luck.  It will record but not create any outputs that are viewable.  I do not have maintenance on this so I decided to post here to get some help.

They all appear to be online.

  • Content Server can't find my native document

  • 3 genre folders with the same content, also can't play my homemade iMovie

I downloaded songs from 17 different jazz albums and categorized them under the genre "jazz" in iTunes. However, after importing, my iPod lists 3 different "jazz" folders, one as 17 albums, 47 songs, the second 3 albums 15 songs and the third says 1 album and 1 song - but opening any of these folders reveals all 47 jazz songs! In iTunes, all the songs under "jazz" are written exactly the same, no misspellings, no caps/lower case mixes - I can't figure it out.
And while I'm here, I also can't find my homemade iMovie which shows up and plays in iTunes but not on the iPod.

For the first problem, all I can suggest is trying the "The Five Rs" to make sure everything is up-to-date & restored to the Nano with the same genre as in iTunes.
For the second, have you exported/published the movie to iTunes from within the iMovie application or added it to the iTunes library in some other way? iPods only support a limited subset of MPEG-4 video formats, while iTunes can support any video format that Quicktime does. You don't say which version of iMovie you have but for example, iMovie 8.0 Help: Downloading your movies to your iPod or iPhone explains the steps to publish an iMovie 8 project to iTunes in a format suitable for various devices.
The iMovie 8.0 Help topic "Customizing your QuickTime export" also has info you may find useful if you want to customize the rendering options beyond the preset ones recommended for use with a particular device. Refer to the Nano's tech specs for the codecs, frame sizes, & frame rates it can support. Choose any options that meet but don't exceed those specs & you should be able to add the movie to your Nano at a variety of sizes, qualities, & frame rates to suit just about any purpose.

  • Can't play one particular long video

I can't seem to play one particular video on my iPod. When I press the center button, the screen turns all black, ready to play the video, but then it just freezes for a few seconds and goes back to the movie menu.
This video is approximately 1 hour long and I encoded it with SUPER (from eRightSoft). I've had no problems with the other videos I've encoded with Super.
Could someone please help me out?
    Thanks

make sure its mp4 format. does it play in itunes? try to reconvert it from the original file it you still have it.

  • Questions for Content Server

    Dear All;
l have setup the Content server in Windows 2003 Standard Edition using the filesystem storage (not the MaxDB database), and the size of the document could be approximately 80GB (for the next few years), l didn't setup the Cache server.
All the attachment in the ECC will store into this External SAP Content Server.
    Question 1:
Can anyone advise whether the Content Server(filesystem) will be having performance issue while store/retrieve documents?  Is there any way to improve the performance of the Content Server?
    Question 2:
Security. what are the necessary security option that l need to configure for the Content server? at the moment, the Windows server still configure as full access for the Content Repository folder.  Otherwise the ECC will be having access denied problem when communicating with the Content Server.
    Question 3:
There are some attachment in ECC, how to l move those documents to Content Server?
    Please advise.
    Many thanks
    Jordan

When I say use certificates, there should be a checkbox with "check signature". This ensure that only sap machines with an active certificate can access the content server.
On the file system, I would ensure that no users have access to the file system through the backend. If they can modify documents, you will be sitting with major problems from a document integrity and legal perspective.
On the issue of migration, there is an oss note for the migration of data from one repository to another for archivelink.
    Check note number 1043676
    Symptom
You have created a new repository, and would like to migrate the ArchiveLink Documents to the new repository.
    Other terms
    Migration of documents, ArchiveLink, repository
    Reason and Prerequisites
This report helps migration of ArchiveLink documents.
To use this report effectively, you would need to ensure that you apply the note 732436. However, this note will allow the migration of documents from and to type of repositories which are supported by ArchiveLink. The types of repositories that are supported by ArchiveLink are HTTP, RFC and R/3 Database.
    Solution
Before you execute the report, you must set up a repository that can
store the documents (transaction OAC0). The repository may be in an
external archive(connected via  HTTP or RFC) or (as of Basis Release 6.10) in the OLTP database of the SAP system. You can also use SAP Content Server as an external archive for storing documents.
The report has the following parameters:
OLD_ARC ID of the old repository previously used
NEW_ARC ID of the new repository
TEST_RUN: If you enable this, only a test run occurs, copy of       documents does not occur.
DEL_FILE: If you enable this, then the files would be deleted from the old repository.
Launch the transaction SE38 and create a program with the name ZMIGRATE_ARCHIVELINK_FILES. Once the program is created, now copy the code from the correction instruction.

  • Cisco Content Server (Virtualized Application)

    Hi.
Can anyone tell me what the hardware requirements are to run a Cisco Content Server virtualised?
Looking at the below link on table 5 I see that is it availiable as a Virtulized Application but lookinh further online I see nothing that gives hardware specifications required.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/conferencing/telepresence-content-server/data_sheet_c78-626482.html?cachemode=refresh
    Any advice would be great.

Your question would be better placed in the TelePresence section of the forums where these devices are more actively discussed than in the Digital Media section you've posted in.
Given your thread is 11 months old, I'd assume you've found an answer to your problem, but just in case, and for reference for any others that happen to be looking, you can find the specs on what is required on the Cisco docwiki:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Virtualization_for_Cisco_TelePresence_Content_Server
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Unified_Communications_in_a_Virtualized_Environment
Note: all current versions (up to and including S6.1) do not officailly support running on anything other than Cisco hardware.  S6.2 which is due out in the near future is supposed to include support for running on 3rd party hardware, but as it has not been released yet, at the time of this post, this cannot be confirmed.
