Tell a Friend form

I created a form througha website called emailform.com (or something like that). The form was a site feedback form with a simple with 4 fields : visitor's name, visitor's email address, a box for a subject and one for comments. It also had an image verification field.
I want to create something similar, where somebody can refer a friend to my site. Does anybody know of any snippet code out there that will let me create that form? I haven't been able to find anything too useful on Google.

Tell-a-friend form shows up when page is printed

I created a web app that inlcudes the option to print and "tell a friend." The only problem is that when you do print, it shows the tell a friend form on the page. You can see what I mean by the attached. Why does this happen, and how can it be fixed!? Thanks.

Tell a friend form using cdsys

Hi,
is anybody here able to help a newbie? I need a tell a frined
form, when pressing the button it will open a form with:
Your name (variable: name)
Your email adress (variable: from)
Your friends email adress (variable: to)
Subject field (variable: subject)
Text body (email content) (variable: bodytext)
And a submit button to send the email.
I have made the form - but lack the skill to "program" in
html/asp. I have CDSYS available on the server - but no php.

Tell a friend about a web page

I need to set up a link that lets a vistor send a tell a friend email from any given page within the site. Not neccessarrily through a module. Normally I would use a pop-up form and cgi script. What can I use in BC? (Other than just a "mailto" link)

As a note to be clear, that is currently the only way to add refer-a-friend, through a web form. The custom refer a friend form has been removed (existing forms will still work). Due to varius issues with its form process aspx as it lacked key elements the web form aspx as to prevent things like spam.

Tell a friend isn't sending out the email

When I click on Tell a Friend to inform them of a piece of music, podcast,etc., it says it sent the email, but it isn't sending them. Anyone know why?

No it didn't work form me. I tried a couple of different email addresses in case they getting into a spam filter.
A couple of other times I got a not working message, please try later.
I guess there is a fault with the feature. It's not something I have ever bothered with myself.

Is "Tell a Friend" e-mail invitation possible in iTunes U

In the iTunes Music Store, one can "Tell a Friend" about a podcast by clicking on the "Tell a Friend" link that appears in the upper right of every channel description frame. This leads to a forms interface that sends an e-mail invitation to subscribe to that podcast to one or more individuals or even to a mailing list (if the sending address is that of a subscriber).
So, is there a way to invoke this feature in iTunes U? The label might need to be different (Invite Subscribers instead of Tell a Friend) but the same functionality would be very useful to content developers.

Just playing devil's advocate here, I think that such a feature would have to be "opt-in" by the iTunes U admin and individual content creators.
I guess what I foresee is a lot of e-mail, directed to me as an admin, complaining about "spam" if such a feature were made real at our site.
Not saying it's a bad idea though ... just the opposite. Just trying to figure the kinds of things people would bring up.

Help with Tell a friend extension

I just purchase the Tell a friend extension. When I follow
the instruction the menu tell a friend appear on the page properly.
However I want to be able a click on the words "Tell a
friend", and have the Tell a friend menu popint up on another page
just like on this website:

Adobe/Macromdia,
rather one of the many produced by third parties for use with
Dreamweaver.
Many of these are very good (especially project seven
offerings) but support
is predominently offered on the extension web site/forum.

Imitate Tell-a-friend?

When a customer clicks on a tell-a-friend button, the whole page darkens and the info box pops up in the center of the screen,they fill ou the info then comes the confirmation page...
Any way to do that with the mailing list signup page?

The only workaround that I can see to this requirement is to create a custom web form for your mailing list signup. Within the new custom form details add the "refer-a-friend" feature to allow customers upon signup the ability to refer friends as well through the form within your signup page.

Tell a friend script

I have been trying to implement the following "tell a friend"
script:

Not sure what Im doing wrong. The pop form appears but when I
complete the form and press send, I getv a message from my host
server to tell me someone has used the form, but it doesnt collect
the sender or receiver email address. Also the peroson to whom the
tell a friend was supposed to go to doesnt arrive.
I havent got a thank you page" which is in the
tellafriend.php file. Would that make a differnece.
I am a real newbie and would love for someone to drop me some
code to give a similar thankyou page as the one in the example.
Is there something i need to do on the server side to get the
email part to work.
Any help much appreciated.

From a quick read of the article- there are these parts to
it:
Step ONE:
tellafriend.php
which is all the stuff from <?PHP to this part:

Step Two- the form
copy their form eXaCtLy for now- because the scripting using
those form
field names. (so this is a possible cause of your
implementation not
carrying some form fields, and the reason to give the url
link to your page.
Step three
Make the thankyou.htm even if it's a blank file. Make it
exist in the same
folder level as tellafriend.php. If it doesn't exist, that
will likely cause
an error and This Is A Process Of Proving what DOES and What
DOESN'T work.
Step four.
Be patient.
This is not a chat or message board. It's an NNTP newsgroup
with a web based
frontend that some people use. Your repeats to the message
are confusing
things.

Add a "Tell a Friend" button to an iWeb page?

When you create a .mac web gallery page on the top toolbar there is a button to "tell a friend" with an envelope icon. Clicking the button brings up a window that allows you to enter your name and the email address of the person you want to share the page with.
Is it possible to add this same button or at least functionality to an iWeb page?
I know you can copy the link and email it, but I'm thinking more about family that doesn't know how to do stuff like that and that button would be very helpful for them to share our page.

Galleries Tell a friend

When using Galleries Tell a Friend feature, Is there any way to change who the email is from?
When the email arrives from .Mac Web Galleries, My family and friends email app. sorts it out as junk mail. And or they delete it as if it were spam.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Are you using Mail and a .Mac mail account. When I send a gallery email the From is my primary .Mac email account. Since there's a png image file in the email maybe that's why the email is being targeted as spam.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Tell a friend MobileMe gallery not working in Aperture 3

I am trying to share my gallery photos - tell a friend is not working this week - it has worked fine for the past 3 years - what's up?

is that the same for all your galleries, or only one particular gallery?
Do your galleries sync o.k. with Mobile Me? Do you see the sync sign below?
Try, if you can "Tell a friend" from the "Web Interface" - click the MobileMe button and select "Visit ...", from your gallery it is also possible to invite people to view. If that also does not work, something probably is wrong with your Mobile Me settings in the System Preferences.
If the web interface works, but not the Aperture interface,check the Aperture Preferences -> Web.
It should show your account as enabled.
