Tells me my password for wifi is incorrect
just go a new router (verizon) and my ipad and other verizon phone connected to wifi with no problem. my iphone4 (ATT) keeps telling me i have an incorrect password (wep) but i know it is correct.
WEP is not very secure. You might as well not use password protection when using WEP.
The new router should support WPA2 encryption. I suggest using that instead especially if you have a Windows PC connected to your wireless network.

If you have 2-step verification set up for your gmail account, you will need to generate an application-specific password for your iphone applications (because those apps apparently don't support 2-step verification).
Go into your google account, look in accounts/security/2-step verification, there is a link called "Manage your application specific passwords" Use that to generate a special password for your iphone apps and use that instead of your usual gmail password on your phone. -
How do I stop the message "Cannot get mail. The user name or password for iCloud is incorrect" from popping up 2-4 times consecutively every time I choose MAIL on my iPhone 4, 7.1.1 I have to select "OK" 2-4 times each time before I can read other email accounts. I used to have an "@me.com" account which I think was automatically changed to an "@icloud.com account." I opened a new iCloud.com account yesterday because I could not figure out how to get in the old ones. I want to delete the original @me & original iCloud account. GaryWhat router are you using? If it's a linksys go to your browser and type in 192.168.1.1 and then browse for your wireless security password/or reset it.

iMac indicating Password for Gmail is incorrect but iPhone and iPad are both able to connect to gmail account....how do I correct this on the iMac?
Try This:
Open up the imessage app on your Imac. Once you have it opened go to top left corner of your screen next to the apple picture and the word MESSAGES appears. Click on it then click on preferences and uncheck your husbands phone and number and or any other numbers which are checked. I had same problem this fixed it. Also if you wanted to you can open up your own Apple account, but that's not really necessary. My wife and I both share the same as you do -
We purchased a new iPad2 and registered it using a 'new' iCloud email/ID. We are unable to send email from the iPad and iPhone. The error is:>> Cannot send mail. The user name or password for iCloud is incorrect.
About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone. Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc. This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...

I had a power failure 2 days ago, my computer is running again, but now I cannot send email from my iPad using Cox or my gmail account. I am receiving mail in my Cox account but not my gmail account.It was working fine until the power failure. It keeps telling me, the user name or password for Gmail is incorrect. I have not changed anything. I don't know what is wrong. Can anyone help me? ThanksI agree, unplug and replug your router, then reset your iPad by holding down the sleep and home buttons, ignore the red power down slider, and wait til you see the silver apple. let it reboot and then try your connection.
Chances are rebooting the router will help. You may also need to talk to cox. They may need to reset something on their end. -
I have an ipad air and I'm trying to set up a telus email on it but it won't work. I keep getting a message saying username or password for IMAP is incorrect...please help!
This has nothing to do with iPhoto. When I have this type of problem I call tech support for my email service. They probably are the only source of the correct settings

Never had trouble before with my incoming mail but just now getting messege that says the user name or password for verizon is incorrect yet my home computer is fine only have this od my iPad
I experienced same problem tonight and called Verizon technical support and they walked me through the settings on iPad. Took about 5 minutes. Basically it involved changing incoming.verizon.net to pop.verizon.net and changing outgoing.verizon.net to smtp.verizon.net. But it's worth the call to ensure other settings are OK. Evidently, change at Verizon was effective today!

Thanks, this solved my problem. Network kept demanding username; I guess it's different from the computer ID I use. Whatever, it wasn't easy to find the network listed, but by trial and error, I found it, highlighted it, and pressed delete key. Now the network only asks for password, which I knew, and I'm on. Great advice. But why computer was configured to do that in the first place is why I prefer PC to my wife's inscrutable macbook pro.

Sounds like you are not able to connect to a Wi-Fi network with your iPad. This article has a section for Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network and the second article is the recommended network settings. If after these it still has the same issue you may want to restore the device to factory settings.
